I LOVED this hotel once I moved to the 2nd floor.. Definitely worth the upgrade! The room, space, views, accommodations, and location to everything is great… however, that particular few blocks is kind of dark and secluded at night and there’s not really any type of access to a swimming beach from the hotel.. it’s about about a 4 minute walk to a nice beach..but I would definitely come back here! Staff was great! Gracias Alfredo!

Staff are very helpful and friendly. Hotel is right on the beach. Hotel is far enough away from the night life so not much noise. This is not an all inclusive, you can order breakfast for $10 us cold meal or $15 us per person for a hot meal. The restaurant next door is very accommodating, you can order and they will bring it right to your room or beach , we used them several times, great food!

We had an incredible stay here! This beautiful little beach hotel really has everything but a bar (which you wouldn’t really want anyway with so many within 2 min walking distance). Our room was very clean, equipped with everything you’d expect from a more premium 4-star experience.

The staff were also amazing. Super friendly and helpful, they provided tons of recommendations for food and nightlife that we really enjoyed.

The room’s ocean and beach view was great, especially from the patio where they bring continental breakfast to the room each morning. On its own the breakfast is awesome but my wife and I split one of the entree options - 100% worth doing especially for the price.

All in all, we couldn’t be happier with the stay here. 5/5 across the board.

It’s a beautiful view to wake up to every morning from our room! Our room is nicely furnished with two burners and a refrigerator/freezer and the right amount of dishes, silverware etc. Carlos and all staff are so welcoming and helpful! The beach has plenty of chairs with sun or shade. We have stayed here many times through the years and will return! Highly recommend!

Check in was extremely seemless. Breakfast was an additional cost but extremely refreshing. Our room was turned over every day, and our cleaning person did a wonderful job, even left us very cute animal theme towels on our bed. We had the Ocean Room 101. Super easy to get to and very quiet during this high season tourist time. Everyone was very friendly.
We had a rental car and it was easy to find parking before 10pm. After 10pm its a bit dicey due to all the clubs around the area. Dont worry you cannot hear the clubs at all.

I'm coming back to this place. The room had a decent size, nice bathroom that has that beachy, Mexican feel, the balcony view to the ocean was great and most balconies have a hammock. The staff was super friendly.
The hotel doesn't have private parking, zou would have to use the parameters but make sure to have coins. The app doesn't work and it won't take touch less card payment. If you get a ticket it isnt a big deal but it is annoying to deal with the process of payment. They lock your wheel and you can't move the car until you pay it.
Other than that , the hotel is beautiful, has a silence so tou can sleep and it is around the corner to the restaurants, clubs , etc.

Everything about our little ocean front room was perfect for us. The room was cute and furnished with just enough for this chef to cook in the room and then relax with a movie. The restaurants nearby and on the beach were very good too. We ate a seafood platter right on our patio offsred to us by the place nwxt door. Room service! If you want to sit and stare at the ocean and hear the waves with some solitude this place is for you. Not a swimming beach necessarliy - you have to walk a little ways down, but the most beautiful picturesque scene and fishermen coming in with catches.The staff were very kind and helpful. This was our favorite little cove along our travels so far. Clean hotel, excellent location, everything you need to feel like a resort stay at a fraction of the cost.

The resort was right in the middle of downtown Playa and allowed for easy access to everything you would want. The rooms were a little dated but nice. The only item I would comment on is a need for external pest control. There are a lot of ants in the sand and on the balcony making it hard to enjoy the outdoor space. Overall, a better than average experience as maid service was provided daily.

This is my 3rd stay at the Playa Palms Beach Hotel. I love its boutique style, clean, ample sized rooms and its close proximity to the lively nightlife and restaurants but tucked away quietly on a \"very\" small beach. I also enjoyed having my daily breakfast, always delivered on time, on my private patio/balcony overlooking the ocean.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t love about this Hotel! After I reserved my stay I realized that the night clubs were just around the corner on 12th and thought it would be loud at night, but you could not hear them at all!! All the people that work there are super friendly and helpful! Alfredo greats you with a big smile and makes sure your stay is the best it can be! The water pressure is very strong and the water is hot! The rooms are beautiful with an amazing deck with table and 3 chairs and a hammock! This will be my go-to hotel when I go to Playa. It’s so close to amazing restaurants and pubs with live music. It’s right on the beach with beach chairs! This place is a gem!

I’ve stayed at The Palms many times and it never disappoints. This boutique property is a gem. Staff is consistently friendly and attentive. Excellent location, EASY walk to \"all the things\" including 5th Avenue. All the rooms are great but I love falling asleep to the waves when staying in an ocean front room. Breakfast is always delivered on time and always delicious. My go-to spot for a relaxing stay-cation or romantic get-away.

The picture on Expedia was very deceiving, I thought I was going to get a partial view of the beach and a bigger room. I can see the beach if I poked my head out the balcony. Also, my room didn’t have a hammock, which was something that sold me on the room. The room wasn’t clean, I had a dirty towel and pillowcase. The location was decent and close to Quinta Avenida, I felt safe walking at night. There’s a club right across the street, “La Vaquita” you can’t hear what’s going on at night, the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Oh! You have to make sure you tell that what you want for breakfast, if you don’t, they won’t bring anything out. Not even if your order was the same the last nights.
This is a decent inexpensive place. But I wouldn’t stay there again.

Dreamy - Fell Asleep to the Waves

The place is really cute, the view from my room was amazing. I left the screen door open at night, and fell asleep to the sound of the waves lapping on the sand - I had the most restful sleep. There is no elevator, I was on the 3rd floor, and I had a a couple pieces of heavy luggage they helped me with. There is a Nespresso coffee maker with the pods, I was so happy about that. The hammock on the terrace was comfy.

I’m glad we chose to stay in this property to explore the beautiful country as it is our first time in Mexico. The staff, especially Carlos (concierge), Karen (receptionist) and Dahlia (housekeeper) are very helpful. Absolutely great customer service!
We were in the family room, so it was very spacious for our family. I do believe it needs a little bit of an upgrade in the basement, as some of the floor and wall paint or coat starts to chip. Nevertheless, we still love the design of the rooms, very authentic.
What we love best in this property:

Great boutique hotel close to the famous Avenida Quinta (5th Avenue). We enjoyed drinks and appetizers at neighboring restaurant, and they served us on the beach chairs. We also had fantastic beach massages at the place right next door. This is not a \"beach destination\" hotel, as there is practically no beach, but that was not our purpose for the 2 nights stay. I would stay again!

One of the few hotels in PDC that has a waterfront. It has a small beach area with lounge chairs and palm trees and I love the sound of the water crashing onto the shore. It adds to the serenity of the property. Although I did see a person or two in the water, its not really a swimming beach as the propertys beach is created woth a retaining wall of sandbags to prevent erosion. The water during the day gets murky with sediment, especially because of the local fishing charters that dock right off the water. My daighter even saw a 30\" wide stingray cruising iff the coastline. There are friendly locals offering services inclduding fishing charters, massages and local trinkets. The property is located a block away from the clubs in downtown PDC but angled far enough away that the sound is barely noticable. Everything is walking distance. Loved the hitel. Everyone is so friendly and I would love to go again.

Besides the bath towels being dirty the room was semi clean. The floors felt dirty like sand had never been swept up. Also, a little disappointed that this is a “beach” resort and although it is on a beach front you can’t swim in the ocean. Boats are parked on the area and it’s not accessible for swimming. We booked this resort because we thought we can swim in the beach on days where we didn’t have excursions. Unfortunately, you will have to travel to a public beach elsewhere.

Wonderful stay at Playa Palms Beach Hotel!

We had a fantastic experience at Playa Palms Beach Hotel! The place was very clean, the rooms were comfortable, and everything felt well taken care of. The customer service was amazing — every staff member we interacted with was kind, helpful, and welcoming.

The hotel is in a perfect location, with easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and transportation. It was incredibly convenient to explore the area and still have a peaceful, relaxing place to come back to.

My daughters truly enjoyed the stay, and we all felt right at home. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. We’ll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed the property. Its is well maintained and located within am easy walk to restaurants and shipping. We had no issues parking our large SUV on the street with metered parking. We recommend using the parking app. Breakfast delivered to our room and was delicious and plentiful. We will definitely stay again.

Sadly, the sea was black and full of sargazo but that didn't affect our visit and is of no fault of hotel.

Likes: It was a beautiful property to watch the sunrise while having breakfast served; the beach was beautiful, the room was lovely, front desk service was GREAT, conveniently close to 5th Ave.

Dislikes: the power boats anchored at the beachfront (which of course you'll notice they don't show pictures of the beachfront). A few property maintenance issues; had to have a room change.
