In general good,and fair price,however why i didnt rate as 5 star, because bathroom is stinky,smell like pee, really strong odor. Thats my only bad review in general is a nice hotel and convenient everything is around!!

The hotel is very nice, it is very well located. It has very good connections to transportation and food. The only thing that needs to be improved is the reception inside the internet rooms and there are no places where there is no good reception. In general, it is very good.

Great traditional atmosphere

Very nice hotel in a great location just a few blocks away from 5th. Staff was fantastic and helpful with all our needs. Atmosphere is very tradition with the courtyard. The only negative was lack of water pressure in the shower but it was sufficient to get the job done. Would stay hear again. Few doors down was a great latin fast food joint which have great portions. Ate there twice. Location on main street and extremely safe.

It was just Ok… would not stay again.

The hot water was out for 2 days. The safe didn’t work because they said the battery was probably out. They gave me a lock with key to use for the box, but that didn’t work. It was clean and great location. I sent an email asking about private transportation from airport, they said take the ADO bus.

This hotel is in a perfect location. Close the grocery store and 5th! Close to restaurants that were priced much better then on 5th. The lush gardens are great however if you want to tan it covers like a canopy and hardly any sun comes through, but beautiful to read and relax by the pool. Staff amazing!

Great room for the price. Room reminded me of an airport hotel. Very basic. The room I was in only had a window that looked into the property so very little natural light. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The key cards weren’t working on the days that I stayed which was a little inconvenient but staff walked me to my room to let me in. Not a huge deal. Pools are in the shade most of the day but a very nice set up.

Above average hotel close to La Quinta

This hotel is slightly above average. The rooms are clean and it’s a nice area with easy access to “La Quinta.” I would stay here again but it certainly doesn’t deserve a 5 star. I would give it 3.75 stars out of 5.

Pros: Clean rooms, quiet, 2 pools, beautiful setting, comfortable beds, and a very friendly bilingual staff. In-room safe. Decent hot-water.

Cons: Slow or non-existent wifi. Check-in took more than 30 minutes. I had cancelled one night on my stay and the hotel initially tried to charge me a no-show even though I cancelled before the due time. The key system went down to all the rooms one day and everyone had to be let in by the check-in staff manually. Breakfast is more expensive than La Quinta which is 2 short blocks away.

I would stay here again because the property is so nice and the staff is friendly, but they have some work to do. If they want to keep a high rating.

While the staff insisted someone (maintenance) would check in with me... which they never did... I felt as though I was just paying for a good bed.

I'm hoping that when I pay for accommodation its for ALL the amenities the facility says it offers.

Great location, spacious rooms, well maintained facilities; I would only suggest to provide more than 1 key to the guests even with an extra charge in case it gets lost it was very annoying to have only one when there is more than one person, in addition the hotel is closed after midnight, I got back at 3am with no key and none was there to open the door I had to call the hotel for someone to open it for me

When we went to check in they told us they had no rooms and couldn't accommodate us even though I had a confirmed booking. They didn't seem to care that we were without a hotel and didn't even cancel the reservation on their end after telling us they had no rooms. I was charged the full amount for a room I didn't even stay in. Very poor service I wouldn't recommend staying here.

This hotel is a lovely, smaller hotel. I loved the styling and the decor created a lovely atmosphere of Mexican charm. The greenery in the courtyard is fabulous. The area around the small pool was relaxing. The king size beds were very large and comfortable. Our room had a coffee maker and small fridge. The location is perfect, close to the beach, the mega and several restaurants but not noisy. I can say enough about the staff and their excellent service, they were very friendly and accommodating. Great internet with no issue in our rooms or the lobby. The satellite tv was not working but that was not the fault of the hotel. We were booked to stay one night but extended our stay 2 days and would stay here again.

Basically we just used the hotel to sleep one night to go to xelha and then moved to another resort in the Riviera

The location is super great, 3 blocks away from la quinta Avenida, a super market next door, xcaret group stop next door and great tacos across the street

The pool area was very cozy
The service was excellent, they kept our luggage many hours while we were in xelha

Great location for a no frills stay

Loved it so much we came back the next week

We stayed last week.and loved it so much, we.came back this week! We dropped our bags off and left and came back late at night... turns out the AC wasnt working and due to it was late, rather than switch rooms they gave us the room right next to us to sleep in so didnt even make us move our bags :) next day wanted late check out and they wouldnt even take our money!

Love the two different pools, and giant shower.
They let us chill at the pools all day after we checked out, and we got to use the shower bathrooms by the pool after we were done swimming. Looking forward to coming back already perfect for families so quiet

I’d recommend this hotel for a night or two in playa del Carmen. The location was convenient and the room was clean. I didn’t use the pool, but there are two of them to use. I’m giving 4 stars not 5 because I thought it was crazy that the hotel was jot even half full and they wouldn’t let me check in two hours early and wanted to charge me 33% of my nightly rate. That’s not good customer service at all.

The hotel is nice for a budget hotel. The front desk woman was extremely rude at check out. She called in the phone and told me she was up charging me $100 if I didn’t check out. I was a little over check out but $100? When I made it down to the front desk I started to pull out all the random remotes they give you. I pulled the first one out and she started demanding more remotes which were at the bottom of my pockets. I told her to just wait. I had to have enough time to get them out of my pocket. The reception area was uncomfortably hot. I open the restaurant door to check for a cooler space. Once again getting barked at by the from desk. I had to wait in the court yard for my co-workers to come back to pick me up. I guess I should be feel blessed u didn’t gave to wait in the street.

Perfect location close to the Ado bus station, mall and 5 Avenida. My son and I really enjoyed our last minute stay in Las Golandrinas. My only complaint would be that our WiFi was not working in our room we were on the second floor. We called and told them it wasn’t working but it wasn’t fixed. Breakfast was good.

staff was super nice! The hotel itself is a few minutes away from the main strip (5th ave), and 15 minutes walk to mamita beach.
Overall the place was exactly what we wanted as a family. We didn't really like the swimming pool (too cold), so the beach was the only real option (which is fine)

small hotel near the center of Playa del Carmen

Hotel is small and clean, equipped with two swimming pools. All rooms are oriented inside a courtyard with swimming pool and palm trees. Rooms are dark due to insufficent daylight, we had to have lights on all the time. At first we received a room with view on wall then we moved and we had view at the palm trees. There is no bar/restaurant in the hotel, so no drinks at the pool and no room service.

Great Staff But Hotel Room Had Minor Issues

The location was incredible – it was close to everything. And the staff were friendly and attentive. They maids kept the room clean; however, the bathroom had an unfortunate smell during our entire stay. Also, the beds were not the most comfortable ones out there. So, if you are not picky, the place is perfect. We cared more about the location and friendly staff. As for the Wi-Fi try using the 3 variation. The first one barely gets any signal.

Small and Nice hotel with a short walk to Beach.

Small and quaint hotel in the heart of Playa. Two blocks from the main plaza, Quinta Avenida (5th Ave) and a10 min walk to Beach. Have been to Playa before and loved it. Stayed in an all inclusive not to far from here and fell in love with the community. Naturally we came back to celebrate our anniversary and decided to try this little hotel Las Golondrinas. It's very pleasant and charming. Updates were being made while our stay but nothing one can't handle. Johnathan and Miguel in the front reception desk are nothing but pleasant and we just adored Vilma our room attendant who made every effort to have our room clean and nicely decorated with creative and whimsical towel designs. This crew helped made our stay more enjoyable. Didn't get to enjoy the two beautiful pools on premises.One is centrally located within a breathtaking garden making one feel relaxed and the other a bit more quite located on one side of the hotel that was also having it's outdoor garden and area renovated. Breakfast is served daily for purchase or im prebooked. We didn't try as our plans throughout our stay was to venture and eat out with our local friend that we made . No fancy fancy frills here but we had a great stay. We would definitely have another go and highly recommend.

I informed t he manager when we checked in that I needed a room with light and air as I had alot of work to do on the computer for my job. He gave us a decent room, but failed to mention that there was construction going on right outside our door (repairing the elevator) and above our heads (banging on the ceiling) and right outside all our windows. After the first day, we should have moved rooms but stupidly figured it was over (it wasnt) By the time I realized the noise was continuing, it was too late to move, so I ended up trying to work in the lobby. The internet was super slow and unreliable too. I was thrilled to leave. Dont go unless you are sure they are finished with their renovations which made the pool and central courtyard un-usable (all dusty) The place should have been closed down while they were doing this! Unconscionable..

We didn't want an all inclusive resort and this hotel was perfect for our adventures. Parking can be limited but there is a cheap car park a little down the road under the shopping centre.

There's better hotels at very similar price.

My first impression was very disappointing when I heard that very loud noise of construction, there was no bell man, the front desk agent wasn't friendly. The room had a very strong smell of \"humidity\". The bed was very unconfortable. My kids went into the pool and started complaining about rocks and pieces of cement in the pool, I guess it was because of the construction going on on the higher level. The WiFi didn't work very well. My room was very noisy, you could hear the noise from the construction, next morning I could hear every single that was passing by. One thing that I did like is that they have a big closet and hot water. Prior to this hotel, I stayed at 2 other different hotels which had a wonderful customer service and a better price, so when I came to Las Golondrinas for my last night I felt very bad for the other guests who where arriving there.

It was horrible. They had construction going on everyday on top of our roof at 8am till dark. It was impossible to sleep. Also, the old style air conditioning caused a 1 inch puddle of water to build up on the room floor. They never brought us fresh towels once.

Decent hotel in a decent location

We stayed here after spending 20 days at another hotel in Playa, then 13 wonderful days in Akumal. Las Golondrinas was a 2 day stop before flying home to Canada. Check in went fine although reception said we would have to pay for breakfast. I checked online and it was included, so we did get our vouchers. The room they gave us was dark, and at the back of othe hotel beside the common bathroom for the pool. We asked for a change, and got it 2 hours later. Breakfast was fine, the staff there very friendly. The hotel is 2 blocks from the mega store and 4 blocks from the action on 5th ave. It's is good place for a short stay, popular with Mexicans and travellers at a decent price.

I guess it's my fault for not checking out the location more carefully, but this hotel is not near anything like restaurants or shopping unless you are a walker or take a taxi. The hotel is small, but has two pools and the main courtyard is charming. The pool is lovely. The room was very spacious and clean.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel's facility is somewhat unique style, looking cute and lovely especially at night. It was good enough to stay for a short vacation. Several eating places are close by the hotel. Mamitas beach club is located about 10 mins walk. Staffs were kind and helpful. Overall it was great experience with the hotel.

An Oasis in a Bustling City

Traveling with kids, we wanted to stay where it was clean, quiet, and scenic. The two pools were great, and never crowded. We were on a busy street, but it was quiet and peaceful. Just a quick 2 blocks to avenida cinco, 3 blocks to the ocean.

A great place and location!

This hotel is in the perfect location if you really want to experience all of Playa. Just a few blocks from the beach and main strip but also close enough to local's favorite taco trucks and supermarket. The rooms are clean and service is wonderful. I would stay here again on my next visit!

Wifi almost never worked

Hotel staffs were friendly ad tried to help with issues, however, wifi never worked except for a hour right after check-in and sewage like smell and cleaning agent smell (cleaning with viegar?) was overpowering at bathroom. Discount ticket at Mamita Beach Club is nice only if you get there early to grab chairs.
On premise parking, being quiet inside the buildig and free bottle of water were nice.

A great place to stay, great for families

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a fridge in our room which was great to store cold drinks. Lots of great restaurants and street food around, practically across the street from a big supermarket, and a very short walk to the beach. The pool was very refreshing. WiFi was pretty good. We were on the top floor in a corner, and we still had fast speeds.

I was looking for a convenient place to stay, with clean rooms and friendly staff and Las Golondrinas fit the purpose. The Hotel has 2 small, comfortable pools where you can spend a couple of hours and cool down. When required, the response from staff was always prompt, nice and with a great big smile. Whenever going back to Playa del Carmen, Las Golondrinas will be my first choice. It is close to 5a Avenida, which is focused on tourists and visitors, but it is also close to local restaurants and stores, which is always a good (and less expensive) option.

Good Location

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this isn't the place for you. The location is very good, close to 5th Avenue and the beach. The staff was helpful and the hotel was quiet and clean. It is a mid range hotel with a small pool but not much for amenities but with everything close that wasn't a problem. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and wasn't much to brag about, also if you want a drink bring one with you as there is no bar on site.

A good hotel and near to the centre of town, only about a 10 min walk. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel was always clean and tidy. They have wifi which is free to use but only works in the lobby area. They also have a computer that guests can use.

Overall ok

A good hotel with a great first impression, but unfortunately the workmanship in the bathroom in particular was very disappointing. The tiling, painting and plumbing was very poor. And worst of all was the sewer smell that lingered in the bathroom. Also, very slow wifi, almost useless.

Nice location, good setting

The staff was friendly. When we arrived, our room had a few things left from the previous guests, which wasn't fun, given that we arrived pretty late; being that said, staff removed items (which included left-over foods in the fridge) very quickly. We got 2 rooms, one on the first floor, one on the second. The one on the second floor had full internet access and was in way better shape than the one on the first. In addition, the first-floor room was right next to the pool bathroom so it wasn't that comfortable to not being able to open the curtains as people could see right into our full room.

If you go, definitively press for a room on the second floor.

Nightmare

It was the worst hotel ever. We were in a room close to the pool, and it was just impossible to sleep at night. The room was dirty and the air conditioning didn't work .... Just a nightmare

Convenient

Easy walk to bus and 5th ave. use this hotel 4-5 times a year. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff is friendly.

Close to 5th av.

They charge me an additional person, because they say that a double room with 2 queen beds is just for 2 people and we were 3. The internet never worked and there wasn't hot water.

Great location and friendly staff!

We stayed here the last 3 nights of our Yucatan trip. Since the hotel is on the Constitution Ave. it was easy to find and check in was smooth. As soon as we found the A/C didn't work, the staff assigned us to a different room. We had a small fridge and the best shower in our entire 2 week's in Yucatan. When we asked for some hot water to make some tea, the staff brought us an electric kettle to our room. We chose breakfast plan and it was great to start a hot and humid day with healthy desayunos, including good coffee, made-to-order eggs, and fresh fruits. The location is perfect to walk to 5th Ave. and to the beach, near MEGA grocery store and El Fagon restaurant, ravenderia is nearby, too. There are two swimming pools surrounded by lots of plants and coconuts she'll lanterns made it really pretty during night. Nice Itallian deli and Subway is just few steps away. I will definitely recommend Las Goldorinas.

The hotel has a lovely courtyard with lots of plants around the pool. But both pools aren't really deep, so dont' try any plunges.

Something a little different than one might expect

We enjoyed our short stay very much. All the staff was polite and accomodating, except our room attendant. We were not given the one bottle of water we were supposed to have each day. When we asked at the front desk, we then received one. This happened both days we stayed there. The other couple we were traveling with received their water each day without having to ask for it. Otherwise, it is charming and well located for shopping on 5th Ave.

Very Comfortable

A very nice experience, stayed a total of 18 nights, 17 on one booking and added another night. The only thing I think could have improved our stay was the internet was not the most powerful. They hotel could also use a few more lounge chairs, and areas to sit for the guests.

Great Hotel!

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. I don't think this hotel is very old.

The beds were comfortable. Not too hard not too soft.

We loved our stay!

It's a quick walk 2 streets to the action but far enough away to escape the crazy tourist centre for some quiet and to walk without being hassled.
