Staff is great and the everything is so close. There's a guy outside who watches the parking lot next door who asks everyone where they're going for some reason and ask what room number they are which I thought was weird. But other than it was great.

Stayed at the ESJ Beach Hotel, ocean view super spacious room, two queen beds, desk, small dining table with 2 chairs, plus a couple of bar stools for the countertop space. Spectacular view from room balcony. Beds were comfortable. The kitchenette was fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, utensils, dishes, soap, sponges, pots, and coffee maker + coffee. We had plenty of linens and towels in the bathroom, along with a full size beach umbrella and two foldable chairs that were a great bonus. The hotel location was excellent, quiet, and very safe. The exit door takes you right into the beach. There is a small coffee shop (service can get slow) and a bar at the lobby, also vending machines (but weren’t working well at the time). Several restaurants are at walking distance, including the Pueblo grocery store. I would definitely come back and recommend this hotel!

We personally would never choose to stay at this facility again. The Pool view looked 3rd world, The TV service was atrocious in both rooms. one of the rooms had a few small roaches, Paint was pealing off the ceiling, and the entire place seemed to be thrown together in cheap. Two dresser draws were broken.Also they mentioned that since their pool was under construction that the neighboring Hotel The El San Juan Hotel will vouch the guest of the ESJ Hotel to have access to the El San Juan Hotel pool and facility which turned out to be false. .

This was an unacceptable experience. Check in was at 4 and the room was not ready until 5. We were then provided keys that did not work and did not have a remote to control the air. I had to go down to the office three times which wasted slot of our vacation time and I was late to a scheduled dinner. The manager avoided me and I was told that I would be provided a credit for the room which I did not receive. Will never stay here again.

The photos are very old because the property is run down and under a lot of construction. There is no pool and based on what I heard from the locals the pool been out of services for over 2 years. The property is nicely locales near the airport and there are plenty food options within walking distance. Beach access is easy.

There was no hot water the entire stay, no towels exchanged, no trash removal . When notified the front desk they had no other rooms , said hot water was broken and not fixable. Offered us to shower in the gym locker room across the property

Dirty towls were giving. No hot water. Stains on sheets. Also sometype of bugs in bed that bit me and my girlfriend that causes many bites on our legs and back. . Of course no pool but you can use other hotel pools for a 100.00 charge per day. That is the deal the hotel made with the surrounding hotels if you want to use the pool. The view was nice and great location right on the bech..

All of the above! All of the amenities were missing: no beach towels, no hairdryer, no coffee maker, no iron, a bucket, but no mop. I made reception aware of all of these missing items so that I would not get charged for them, and every time I mentioned it the person at reception would say “oh right away we’ll get those things up to you“ but it never happened. I asked for beach towels and had to wait one and 1/2 hours until housekeeping brought it up. This is after she told me that she would bring them right up. The staff did not seem to care about any issues that you had. We had to fend for ourselves otherwise the room was big and comfortable other than the bed which hurt my back. I would not stay there again.

Blood stained rug, no running water, the pool was all torn up, the curtains and blankets have holes, showers curtain disgusting, the game room nothing worked, no gym, Forced to pay an additional 210 at ck in for daily cleaning, no one cleaned our room all week until the night before check out and at that it was a halfassed job, bar is a joke, the indoor staff was rude. This was my first trip to PR- next trip I will select a different hotel for sure. I would not recommend at all.

Room was very clean and staff was courteous. Having full efficiency kitchen and unit with washer and dryer was key as room service was unpredictable. We would not stay there again if room did not have all amenities we had. Also we had to change rooms first night because of awful view on ground floor. Lot of disrepair on exterior of building. Pool and hot tub is an awful eye sore.

The service was terrible. The sheets and curtains were stained and dirty. Every day we asked for towels for the room to be cleaned and they would say yes. We would return from being out and there would be towels and to find out that they didn’t clean the room or even remove the garbage. The vicinity had a water situation and we were ok with that, but not to have the bathroom cleaned or even remove the garbage was discussing.
To of the employees at the main office yesed me to death and nothing would be taken care of.
The pool is under construction, and there are no beach chairs available.
Overall, this was a terrible experience. Terrible hospitality services and discussing to say the least. We had to stay because unfortunately everything was sold out around us for the long weekend.

The Hotel it self is Outdated, nothing like the pictures on the website. Housekeeping never showed up to clean the room, we only received new towels every other day, we had to dump our own garbage. The only good thing I can say is despite the Hotel being outdated it is Clean but I know I will not stay there again.

first of all we were not informed about any water issues ! there was no communication from hotel staff about not having water . when we asked about the water they said it would be fixed the next day . we couldn't even flush the toilet water was on about three hours a day all week . the last day we were there the staff gave us a 5 gallon bucket . not recommend to anyone to stay at this place

The room was neglected. No one came to clean the whole stay. Upon arrival after a long day of traveling we got to the hotel, and was advised that the whole hotel didn’t have water. We could not shower. We had a schedule on when the water would be on and we had to rush to use the water wisely. This ruined my birthday. I was here for my birthday trip with my boyfriend and this made it really awkward.

The door to the bathroom kept coming off for some reason ??? And it would get stuck when it was closed all the way making it difficult to get out of the bathroom. So we had to leave it like halfway open all the time. Water was shut off randomly at times and the next day they gave us set times to use the water because throughout the day it did not work at all. So we couldn’t shower or flush or anything and sometimes the water wouldn’t even turn on at the time it was supposed. Not the best !!

The first room they gave us was absolutely terrible. The toilet didnt flush, the walls were dirty, the place was really beaten up. We were moved to another room, which was very nice, however, we only had water between certains hours for the day. We didnt have our room cleaned, or clean towels or garbage taken out for 2 days. It was terrible. I will never stay at this hotel ever again. We got several different stories as to why they were conservering water.

Charged me 150 dollars for service fee after the second day went to them asked them why the room hasn't been cleaned they told me after 4 days they clean the room all they did was leave clean towels and left clean sheets didn't put them on terrible service i asked them if i can stay 2 extra hours because my plane was delayed they told me 75 dollars extra i will never come back here ever again

Beautiful view from my room. I was only there for one night. The bar area is nice. Bartender was great. Would be challenging to get around with a wheelchair, walker…. Sidewalks and ramps not ADA compliant. Steep in spots. I didn’t see a ramp up to the check in/out office. I had to drag my suitcase up 4 stairs.

This has to be the worst stay ive had in Puerto Rico ever! The only positive was the front desk staff ladies were pleasant but that was it. We had roaches from day one and went to ask front desk about sending someone to spray or clean. They were nice but after 2days no one came we then went down and was told no one put it in the chat they put it in the reservation though. So no.one came. Also requested clean towels and beach towels and disnt get them for 2days. The service of wifi disnt work in the room but they said oir room 179 was a new remodeled room. Had no.ability to watch tv. The room was ok but definitely did not give remodeled with the couch and smell. This was so bad considering we found roaches and the maintenance man felt bad and had to come to pick them up off the ground for us. I do nor recommend this property to anyone and it shouldnt be listed since its clearly infested.

First thing is the pool is not available. Wasn’t available last year either. Second there is a lot of construction going on in rooms which is also something that was going on last year. I am happy that they are working on the rooms and all but now I have a 4 month old and to stay in a room where next door and or upstairs there is someone drilling and chipping away at concrete all day was not ideal for us. Staff is always amazing! The lobby and rooms are spotless can’t complain about that. The area is also super nice and everything is local. Unfortunately the game room is completely unavailable maybe one machine was working the rest are out of order and the entire hotel smells like mold. Not the rooms though. This is tough to write because this is my second trip staying there and I would love to again, however, going to diner and seeing other hotels in the area made me want to stay there vs ESJ. I think in time they are going to make it something and I’m sure in the past it was an amazing place to stay at but right now I wouldn’t stay there again.

hotel was right on the beach, they are still doing construction in the building because the area we stayed at was an extension so its still new. Only thing confusing was where to check in because the office is hiding in a little corner. The cafe was great downstairs! amazing coffee, wish there was more food options in the hotel. Very clean and staff was super friendly and helpful

We enjoyed our stay here and the location of the hotel is great. However, it really depends what room you get. We requested a room with two beds and got one king size bed at first in a moldy smelling and very old looking room, worst I have ever seen, like in a very run-down motel. We went to complain and a nice receptionist gave us the room we requested - two beds and much better room, clean and updated. However, the AC was set to 66 F and there was no way to turn it up. The remote was missing and it took another trip to the reception to get that sorted out. The hotel charges extra $30 per day - not sure why. They say water is included - we got a small bottle each at the beginning of the 5 day stay and that was it. The information the hotel provides is misleading. One has to request a room service for cleaning but regular towels are changed daily. However getting clean beach towels or bathroom floor towel was sometimes a problem. The kitchen has some dishes but nothing to clean them with. So what are we paying $30 per day for? The hotel bar is very overpriced for the quality of the drinks (we had one good drink and one not so good one). I probably wouldn’t come back.

I wasn't aware there was construction happening. The pool was closed. You could hear construction on the beach and in our room. The room needs a lot of repairs. The fridge door hits the trim and doesn't always shut, the balcony door was very hard to open it needs to be adjusted, the sink faucet was wobbly, a lot of little thngs could be improved.
There were restaurants near by and the location was pretty convenient.

The front desk was excellent and Courteous. Our room was not what we had requested. We had double beds when we requested and paid for a king Suite with a sofa Bed. 3 days we were woken up at 7-8am by Pool Construction and later on the day we had to kill a large bug in the room. Albeit, the room was clean but when I asked for housekeeping service it was never provided just new towels. The beds were not changed and the floors were not swept or mopped. My hair is falling out due to treatment and this was supposed to be a relaxing trip. The garage was very difficult to find parking and my boyfriend would have me wait for him till he parked and would come get me. I remember coking to this hotel as a child and wanted the memories back with my dad and the view I received was an empty pool and loud construction. The beach was close but if you stayed later and the gate was closed it would be an extremely far walk to return to the hotel. The breakfast was decent downstairs and were very friendly. Not a large selection but got to the point.

Glad you had a great stay! This is a hotel, and the staff is always friendly. What I really like about this place is the convenient access to Isla Verde Beach, with many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is also very close to the airport, which makes traveling easy.

I’ve stayed here multiple times, and this time the bar in the main lobby was open, which was a nice bonus. The only downsides are that some rooms could use an update, and parking can be a bit challenging if you drive an SUV, as the driveway is very narrow.

Not as advertised. The room smelled bad. Rusty balcony railing that was not stable and unsafe for kids. The front desk told us the pictures used are for the “owners side” not where others stay. Would not stay here again. Beach is beautiful but do not sit on the sand without bug spray. Started second part of our trip itchy with bites all over from the sand mites!

This was our second time staying at the ESJ Towers. The first visit was amazing, the second even better. The easy access to the beach, friendly staff, and central location to all the San Juan area has to offer makes this an amazing place to stay.

The property is under going renovations that will only make the property more inviting for future visits.

My family and I were in Puerto Rico for a funeral and decided to stay at the ESJ for a few days. Upon arrival, we were given a room with no hot water. A laminated sheet in the room indicated to dial “0” for assistance yet there was no phone in the room. The hotel main line was called numerous times but no response. Expedia was contacted and they too were unsuccessful in reaching them to request a refund on my behalf. I contacted them via the Expedia site only to receive a message that someone would look into it. Days later after I went to the office did they send someone to check the problem. The individual claimed to have fixed the issue yet we came back and no hot water at all. The day before check out we were out and received a call asking for permission to enter the room to check for a “leak”and they could not do so with the do not disturb sign on the door. I refused and told them to wait until I got back. No one ever went back to check for the leak and upon check out the front desk staff acted surprised and indicated the hot water issue would have to be looked into after check out. I’m sure I’m not the only guest who had this issue and they should not have given me that room if they know something was not right. They didn’t even try to move my room to accommodate for the inconvenience.
