Lovely pub. Nice friendly staff and locals, great choice of drinks and good food. I stayed for 3 nights making a weekend out of our (Wrexham's) away match at QPR and ate here twice. The rooms are very nice too with tea/coffee facilities.
An interesting quirk - everything in my room was left-handed, the taps, switches, door, everything..

Biggest complaint is that the walls are very thin where I could hear the man snoring and coughing in the next room. Room was clean and the staff were very nice. The heater in my room was broken so they had to bring in portables. Even tho I was supposed to get maid service every other day I had none.

This place gets good reviews so hopefully we were just there on an off day. The building itself is a super cute typical english pub. Great bar, great restaurant with amazing specials. The staff was really nice too. Unfortunately, the state of the rooms and the hotel areas need a massive cleaning and update. Be aware that the hotel rooms are on the 3rd floor and there isn't an elevator so dragging your cases up 2 flights of narrow steep stairs is no fun. The carpet in the stairs is literally disgustingly dirty. The rooms are well appointed and look good, but upon entering they smelled of cigarette smoke, as the windows are open to the area below where everyone is sitting outside and smoking. I closed the windows and that helped, but the AC never did work properly, so until the smokers left it was pretty stuff. The carpet in the rooms is very odd, like a jute material, that would be impossible to clean, so that was pretty nasty. The bathroom and shower looked great, but the shower did not work properly and just dribbled out a sad stream of water that would stop every so often. I would say the place is cute but overall shabby. The worst part though is that both us and our friends staying in the next room woke up to disgusting bug bites all over our bodies. I can't think of anything else it would be but bed bugs, so when we got home we had to disinfect everything.

Like I said, the pub and the restaurant downstairs are very good and worth a try.

I usually really enjoy the Princess Victoria. This time there was a birthday dance party under my room on a Sunday night, music stopped at 10 but there was noise from people outside, some fireworks, and cleanup until about 11. After that it was peaceful and the rest of the stay was good.

To eat: Abu Zaad is right on the way to the tube stop and was the highlight of the location.

Main Issues: check in was HOURS late - not even free drinks offered for the wait; one of us got locked in the bathroom - the manager/owner (number provided on card at arrival) did not work for either of us OR an employee who was there for the bar but unable to enter the hotel without permission from the manager/owner & we simply had to leave the door open while the bathroom was in use for the rest of the time

Pros: staff super friendly, outdoor space is fantastic, kept very clean but the decorative piece above the bed was definitely VERY dusty but impossible to clean (just poor planning for interior designer)

Rooms were nice. Generally clean, few areas needed improvement but didn’t affect our stay. Slept well, beds comfy and nice quality linen. Quieter than I was expecting as we are above a pub, no noise at all. Good range of toiletries, tv and fridge which was a bonus. Would stay again.

Terrible weekend stay

Arrival was awkward with pub closed to public due to a wake. Travelled 4 hours and we couldnt get a drink in the bar or at least a complimentary drink. Advised no breakfast in mornings during our stay. No communication from the hotel regarding the pub closure. Walking through the pub was really awkward.

Room was really dirty, build up of dust visibly throughout the room and coffee machine was filthy. Cups and glasses not cleaned properly with coffee stains and dust all over the unit. Screws and washers on the floor fallen from tv bracket as stepped on.
The showers ran ice cold no hot water on Saturday evening or Sunday monring, we didnt shower for two days upon arrival.

I have never written a review but i felt like i had too. Our stay was terrible, the worst we have ever been too.

This property was conviently located in the Shepherd's Bush area - lovely - quite diverse community. We stayed in the hotel and had a couple of meals in the restaurant/pub. The staff were fun and really cared about how our stay was. Wendy, the room attendant, was terrific! She helped us ensure our experience was nothing but the best. The Nespresso coffee pods, provided milk, tea and very cool sugar gave our mornings the punch they needed! I look forward to staying here in the near future!

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at the Princess Victoria. The staff from minute one to the end were nothing short of attentive and hospitable. The meals were excellent in the pub and the deals were something to take advantage of. As this was our “base” in London, the easy walk (or even bus ride) to shepherd’s bush and then literally anywhere provided us with what we needed. While we were here for our daughter’s wedding, we did get in some local football, niche restaurants, and intriguing museums. Can’t say enough good things.

Horrible Experience at The Princess Victoria

I strongly recommend not to book this place for staying. had a terrible experience at The Princess Victoria hotel. Actually it is a Bar (which is famous) with 4-5 rooms at 3rd floor. We can understand that rooms are tiny but can't believe that it does not have lift or a comfortable staircase to go upstairs with your luggage. There's a wooden staircase (spiral type), dangerous for people to go up with their suitcase or so. Plus, there's no helping hand as only two youngsters (a boy & a girl) were there and they're very busy serving customers at the Bar, so no one can help you to carry your luggage upstairs. We had to leave them at first floor in a locked toilet. We definitely would not have stayed here, if we had to stay more than 10 hours at this place and we had to leave early morning by 5 am. However, I must thank Dan (manager) helping us to take our suitcases to upstairs while checking in. However, while checking out in morning, there was no one at the hotel as they open Bar only after maybe 10 am or so.

The positives : our room was clean and comfortable. The room had air conditioning which was appreciated. The neighbourhood is multicultural , with lots of good dining options.
The negatives: The bedrooms are on the 3rd floor, up steep , winding staircase. Not fun with heavy suitcases. The nearest tube stop is a 15 minute walk away.

Lots of skinny stairs to go up, no elevators. Our room was the Bronx. The rooms use a normal key so you have to remember to lock the door when you leave. There are no do not disturb signs which they should invest in because I prefer not to have staff enter my room during my stay. We paid for a hotel with ac and the cleaning person kept turning it off and opening the windows when we weren’t there. This was frustrating as we liked to go back to our hotel to relax midday during the heat and it was hot!! I paid for a deluxe room with a king bed, this bed was definitely not a king. It was the same size as the double we stayed in at a hotel in Paris the days before. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was large so that was a plus. They offer a discount on food if you eat at the restaurant during your stay, but I suggest making a reservation as the lady working wasn’t very friendly when we told her we didn’t have one. The men we checked in with at the bar were friendly.

We have just had a really good two nights here. The room was great and the pub was very welcoming with the steak dinner and the midweek happy hour a particular highlight. I couldn't get the wifi to work but we weren't in the room much so it wasn't a problem.

Very Friendly, close to good transport

Very friendly, we were able to leave our luggage prior to checking in as we arrived in London early. We were given great advice about buses and connections for the various places we wanted to be. Superbly situated for transport - bus stop directly outside pub/hotel, and tube/train station a little further down the road. Into London in less than 30 mins. Perfect. Beautiful old building - a little bit thread bare in places - such as stairways- but we weren’t staying in the stairways so that didn’t really matter to us. Clean bathroom and room, very dark due to the decor, exactly as shown in pics. The canopy above the bed looked like it needed a bit of a dust/clean but overall the room was fab. Great discount off food and drinks - made it way cheaper to eat and drink here than in Newcastle - bonus! Would stay again.

So there was a lovely new member of staff from Australia who was so helpful and friendly, but we were there for a room, and the room was really disappointing and dirty in parts, particularly the bathroom. The rainfall shower is used as a selling feature but it was mouldy and dirty. The bar downstairs is great, even though it shut earlier than stated, and the food is also lovely. You get 1/3 off food if you are staying in a room, but this was overlooked till we mentioned it.

One of those utterly frustrating places for me - beautiful building & room in principle but absolutely let down by lack of cleanliness & maintenance. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly for a while and all bathroom fixtures in a terrible state. Such a shame!

One of the best stays we have had in London. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and room was large and beautifully decorated. Bed was super comfy, rainfall shower lovely and temperature easy to control. Fresh juice, fruit and porridge left in fridge daily and nepresso machine a bonus. Location wise was good, a little walk to nearest tube, approx 10 mins but we didn’t mind that and from there could get anywhere. Will definitely be visiting again .

Room is gorgeous and clean, lovely shower room also. Modern decor throughout.

Rooms on third floor up a slightly narrow staircase which was fine for me but may be a problem for others. No parking, Monday - Friday parking @ £50 per day!
