It was ok. Bed was horrible. Very loud outside as well, could not sleep. Staff are pretty much nonexistent.
It is nice because there is one single women’s restroom if you are lucky enough to get it, other than that men and women are expected to share bathroom/shower space, which is uncomfortable.

Anyways if you just need one night as a solo-traveler this is cost efficient. But, I wouldn’t recommend for more than one night.

my son stayed here as a part of our family trip. It is a hostel. He didn’t sleep very well, but it was safe and it was clean. It was close to our hotel and a very central vocation.

It was a humbling experience to stay here I must say,I usually stay across the green in The Hoxton Hotel how a place like this is on Hotels.com baffles me.
To the bar/reception staff do one task at a time and you will get things done quicker and when customers tell you there is no toilet paper dont put it to the the end of your tasks list, customer care 101.
To the local chav in my sweat box room I think is the only word you might understand I would sincerely rethink your life choices you took my bed and tried to get in a fight with me and called me a pusio lol i had to google that one urban dictionary said its a word used by English see you next Tuesdays.
Young man you can keep going on the path you are on and trust me people dont fear you they pity you and if you do trust me no one will ever remember you.
You are staying in a hostel in your home town surely you must ask yourself questions how am I on this path.I suggest do a college course and stop looking for attention which you will never get, management should never let you in the premises again you are a liability clean up your life you still have time.I saw police came here before on reviews id say you werent far away.
On another point the young man from Brazil well done you took pride in your daily activities and do a good job keep on that path and you will only move forward.The whole experience makes me thankful for what I have but yeah I wont be using hostels again.I had a credit so i paid next to nothing to stay:)

Great location- very easy to get to and close to the station. However, the stay was difficult. I stayed there for 6 nights in total. The first 3 nights I was in a room which was incredibly hot (and I'm always cold) because the radiator was stuck on full heat constantly. The radiator was also inside my bottom bunk so it was dangerous to sleep in as I had to really avoid trying to touch the intensely hot radiator in order to not burn myself. I told two different staff members about this- the first said he'd fixed it but hadn't and the second said \"oh yeah that room\", implying they knew it was a problem generally and yet it had not been fixed.
The room also stank of weed and sweat (not helped by it being so hot in such a small room for four people).

The second room was better because it was bigger and not too hot, although a girls phone and passport were stolen by another guest while I was there and there were toenail clippings by my bed when I arrived. My light switch and plug also didn't work.

The main shower room was fine in terms of condition.

Generally great location and very cheap however, not comfortable at all. Staff generally friendly but clearly the place knows things are broke ie: radiator/plugs and they shouldn't be charging the same amount for those beds/rooms.

I gave these people time to compensate for their outrageous behavior before posting this. It seems they were happy to accept our payments without providing accommodation. In our room, all nine of us were awakened at 8 am and told that we had to leave by 10 am because someone alleged he saw bed bugs. That is disgusting enough. But wait there is more! They provided no plans for alternate accommodation in spite of the fact that there are many other St Christophers in London.This was on Good Friday and because it was a weekend AND a holiday weekend, scrambling to find shelter at the last moment was particularly difficult! Can you imagine the unnecessary stress? We were promised a refund that never materialised!! We are exploring legal options. Please learn from our experience. You cannot depend on your reservation here. Look elsewhere.

Value for money but not at all what was advertised in photography, rooms are a bit bare and sad. Pack an extra pillow because the one supplied is thinner than the duvet. My room key also stopped working on night #2; luckily there was still someone cleaning in the (closed) Belushi’s downstairs whose attention I could grab to fix it.
Fine if you’re in a pinch or on a budget, but for me it was more a reminder why i haven’t stayed in a hostel for over a decade.

It was okay for the price. Showers dirty and don’t bother using the woman’s only shower as it leaks all over the floor and is just a push for water. The rooms were incredibly warm despite going in winter, lockers don’t lock but the beds were comfy! Other than that some of the staff were absolutely lovely<3 and it was nice to have a good common area. Would only return if absolutely necessary.

First day of the stay made me terribly uncomfortable, as the room was very stinky.
The lockers are filthy. Either please remove the lockers, or maintain them.
With the staff, I loved everyone of them. The staff is really good, especially Damiano, Avaran and Artiola. The rest other staff is good as well. They help you to every extent, and are very energetic

Good location, but otherwise disappointing

Good location and staff were helpful (easy check-in and check-out). Sadly, the rest of the facilities were not great. The beds were uncomfortable, and as a bigger person I really struggled getting in and out of the top bunk without the bed nearly tipping (I had asked for a lower bunk at the time of booking but there was apparently not one available). There was no A/C or even fan provided in the room (in the middle of summer) so it was unbearably hot even at night. The shower didn’t work either (no hot water) and wasn’t exactly clean, though I might have been unlucky and used it after someone else left it a mess.

To be fair, given the price I wasn’t expecting much. It was OK for a couple of nights, and the location is ideal for camping/early queuing for any gigs at the O2 Empire which is a 5 min walk away, but I don’t think I’d stay again otherwise.

I was the only person in my room of four who didn't walk into my room one night to find the hostel had booked someone else in my bed. And that happened to one guy in my room twice. Manager also barged into our room at 2am, no knock or anything.

Unacceptable.

Also they had hand sanitizer next to the sink and no soap? That's not how that works, guys.

Staff were friendly, however and the surrounding area was nice.

I travelled all the way from Newcastle to London for a break away with my two sons and was told on arrival that we couldn't all stay as everyone in the party must be over 18 (despite booking a private room) and we all needed to have a passport with us. I accepted this but then needed to book alternative accommodation and was assured by the staff and manager at st Christopher's that they would not request the money from hotels.com for the stay due to the situation. The lady I spoke to at hotels.com was helpful and put through a refund request while I was on the phone at the hotel, however, despite her calling the hotel and me being next to the hotel manager at the time, he did not answer the phone and assured me that they would respond to the email from hotels.com instead. They did not and then upheld the charge for the room for the night, despite assuring me that they would allow a refund.
I complained to hotels.com on the back of this as this was a hotel that came up in my search as suitable, even though I put the ages of my two son's in the search (one is under 18 which I later found out this hotel does not allow) I queried why this was in the search results and asked for my complaint for how the situation had been handled to be take further over live chat and enquired as to when I would hear back about this. The answers were vague but eventually after being disconnected from live chat on several occasions, I was told to expect a response within a week, still nothing.

Upon checking in, everything seemed fine, until I got to my four-bed dorm, and found my bed occupied. All four beds, in fact. And four men sleeping soundly in the dark, curtains drawn…at two o’clock in the afternoon!

However, one staff member sorted out this mix-up relatively quickly, apologised, moved the man, and changed the linens for me.

I did request a bottom-bed bunk in advance, and never got one, so that was disappointing.

Everything else was fine, apart from one man, who had just checked in for the night, tonight, had returned to the dorm. Unfortunately, to the bed below mines. He proceeded to toss and turn, and coughed an awful lot, causing me concern. I couldn’t sleep. He disturbed me at around half two in the morning, and accused me of snoring loudly. Someone was snoring mildly in the room, but it wasn’t me. Keep in mind, I was awake, and had been due to his antics. For some reason, he kept asking me if I needed a glass of water. He seemed to be having hallucinations. Shortly after three, he decided to pack up and leave. Good riddance.

In summary, hostel fine, staff fine. Some of the clientele not so much.

This hotel is close to the overground and underground trains, this makes it easy to travel everywhere. It has cheap drinks and always has people in the bar. Everyone of the staff is friendly and really helpful. Overall it's a great hotel with good atmosphere!

We weren't expecting much from any of the places we stayed in Europe, but this one definitely took the prize for worst. Our room was minimally clean, when we entered, someone's makeup kit and charger were still in the room as well as trash on the floor and under the bed. Our window was broken, so we couldn't open it, so they left a fan in the room. Fortunately my kids are old enough not to stick their fingers in the fan since the fan was broken (the protective cover was not on it). The room we booked was for just me and my kids, and yet one of the people who worked there went ahead and let himself into our room in the morning, no knocking or warning. It took him a while to realize why I was so offended. Definitely would not have chosen this place had I realized what we were walking into. Not a place for families. College kids sure.

Well I didn't know that my booking was to be in a room with men only. Upon my arrival, being the only person there was comfortable, then to learn that the room was then booked with five other men, that made me very very uncomfortable. However, the men were ok, it was a culture shock for me. The experience was one I would never forget. The service from the staff other wise was great. One other concern, was the was from the bathrooms, it was extremely cold.

If you like convenience over anything else

I only stayed here one night purely becuase it was close by to where my tour group was starting at 6am the next day. If you like drinking heaps and havingt a good tinme I'd recommend this to you. It was a pleasant suprise when i realised it was right opposite the metro so that is very handy. However the toilet i had allocated to the female dorm was tiny as and there was no sink in there,The shwer was literally on a one minute timer. One of their staff members were great another one I asked to help with my lugggage was so rude and obviously didn't help. So in summary if you literally just want somehwere to crash and party and not fussy about toilets/showers then stay here. I'm not returning here though.

the hotel .com operator confirmed after asking that there would be four seperate bedrooms with shared bathroom as advertised i.e 4 bedroom shared bathroom. we actually got two bunk beds in 1 bedroom. 4 bedroom means 4 seperate rooms. this should have been advertised as a 4 bed room, with 2 bunks. there is a subtle difference between the two wordings and the operator should have known.it did spoil the stay but everything else great

Great hostel, nice people working there; all relaxed and friendly. Disappointed it took 1 week before I got a reply regarding an item I forgot in my room. 2 weeks in total it took to get confirmation the room was checked and the item was 'stolen'. After 2 weeks in a room full of strangers that isn't very surprising... I also got charged for the keycard without being told. Even when mentioning my credit card was charged more than the amount I booked the room at on the website. Only when checking out I got a refund (which I first refused as I had no idea...) Good experience nonetheless.

Je déconseille fortement

La sonnette a l'entrée ne marche pas donc aucun accueil et porte verrouillée. En fait il faut aller au bar juste a côté, il sert d'accueil pour l'hébergement. Le lit est minuscule, le matelas est dur comme une pierre, l'oreiller est aussi fin qu'une feuille de papier, pas de climatisation et le ventilateur fait trop de bruit, impossible de dormir. Et la rue est beaucoup trop bruyante, très mauvaise insonorisation.
Les toilettes et les douches sont sales. Les robinets dans les toilettes sont trop près du rebord, impossible de s'en servir. Pas de chocolat chaud au petit déjeuner. Je ne reviendrai pas et je déconseille d'y aller.

No towels available. We knew it wasn't included with the rooms, but were supposed to be able to rent/buy towels in the reception. This was not possible, so the trip got noticeably more stinky
