Overall our stay was okay, nothing was terribly wrong with our stay but it was by no means an elevated experience. We opted for the platinum family suite with a swim-out room for our family. Upon arrival we checked in through the platinum lounge which was nice and quick, although we were informed our room was not ready even though it was after check in time and were advised just to come back in an hour. Nothing was explained at check in about where to eat or what to do and there was no information in the room so it was left to us to wander around trying to figure things out. There is no real additional perks for paying for platinum level so I would advise against that, service around around the pools was very slow and it was quicker just to get drinks yourself even if that meant standing in line for half an hour. There are no designated platinum areas around the pool so if you don’t go first thing in the morning to leave a towel or personal items you won’t get a spot. The lunch spot had a nice variety but there wasn’t anywhere to just get easy snacks to have around the pool, you had to go to a specific building and again wait in lineups. In the platinum lounge you could get better liquor but they had no mix so again you had to go get a glass of whatever liquor you wanted then go wait in the bar line to add any mixes or ice you needed. Ww were told that they were totally booked several times but then when we got there we could see many empty seats. The all inclusive thing is not great if you can’t get inti the restaurants. We upgraded when we got there to a beautiful 2 bedroom with jacuzzi. We had a partial ocean view. It was our second visit to this resort. The first time was the Marina El Cid and this time the Ventus at El Cid. We enjoyed both but Ventus rooms are newer.

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly. You need to make dinner reservations but there’s plenty of options to choose from.
Most of the pools were a bit cold but that’s to be expected mid-February.
We would definitely come back again!

It’s been our second year here. The place is nice and quiet. You have buffet options but it’s hard to make a reservation to a restaurant. If you want a pristine beach, don’t go here! They are working hard to clean it but the seaweed can be overwhelming ( and smelly!) Pools are wonderful though ( I wish they were heated like last year). Staff is wonderful - friendly and courteous!

Our visit to Ventus Ha was 4 out of 5. The grounds have lush vegetation. I was shocked that I didn't get any mosquito bites with all the water features and I always get bitten.

Food- specialty restaurants were superb. Italian-get the swordfish! Margarita pizza, clam chowder were great too.A'kat-the chicken at lunch was our fave. That bread with green sauce! Ask for Elvis.French-quiche Lorraine, onion soup,pork loin & creme brule. Room service is 24hrs and it was top tier. Cheese quesadillas and cheesecake hit the spot.

Drinks- chahouk at waves bar was our fave. Margaritas were good. Specify a particular brand. El Jimador tequila, Barcelo solera rum were our choices. Dos equis on tap.

Pools - plenty of options but unfortunately they were cold. We spent our time in the largest hot tubs we've ever seen. Towel cards are a bummer. Rooftop pool had plenty of places to relax with a bar but no food.

Beach is nice to look at but not swimmable due to the seaweed and the large barriers. Kept seeing kids slide on the barriers because of algae.

Room - cleaned daily with thick duvet and blankets. Pillows were heavenly. Plenty of soap, lotion & bug repellent was a nice touch. Hated the room key is a card. Loved the chain for the door. Tip the mini bar attendant for extra beer.

Use of all 3 properties was a plus. Golf carts always willing to give you a ride. Please tip a dollar or 2.

Negative-buffets are very limited & not good. Beef wellington was cold. Breakfast was very lacking.

Food was good, although a couple times we found there were very little options.
The kids enjoyed the pool with the slide except the water was FREEZING! In fact, it was freezing in every pool except the one heated pool.
The beach was the big disappointment for us. The main beach photo on Expedia is completely misleading. There are these massive barriers all in the water to prevent beach erosion (from what we were told), but it literally means you can’t swim in the ocean. We know of a few people that actually walked off site to the front of another resort further away just to swim at a nice beach.
The staff were all friendly. Shows were good!
We weren’t able to get any dinner reservations, so for this reason and the awful beach, we would not be back.
Also a good portion of the resort is actually timeshare owners. So if you like a lively fun resort, this would not be the place.

Our stay at Ventus El Cid had several frustrations that made the experience disappointing overall.

For the first 5/7 nights we couldn’t get dinner reservations at all, and after that the only times available were around 9:00 PM, which is very late when traveling with kids. Even when using the buffet, there were long lines 45 min or more every evening.

We were placed in a room right next to construction, and the noise woke the kids multiple mornings. Room upgrades were available, but only for an additional $60 per night, which felt excessive given the circumstances.

The resort advertises 50% discounts on activities when booking through Expedia, but these discounts were not consistently honored — for example with spa massages $379USD. Laundry services were also very expensive; washing just 2 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters cost about $50.

Internet access was limited to 2 devices per room even we were 4 , and you must pay extra per device per day. The internet also cuts off immediately at checkout time, which felt unnecessary. Late checkout is charged, and even after paying for it, our door cards stopped working at noon and had to be reactivated.

Another surprise was that “all-inclusive” guests are not allowed in the executive member pools or certain areas, which wasn’t made clear beforehand.

Overall, the resort has potential, but the extra fees, and inconvenience around dining and room issues made the stay more stressful than relaxing.

Absolutely amazing stay. The service was the best I’ve ever had, and the food was incredible. All three hotels were beautiful, with HA being more secluded and quiet, the rooftop infinity pool is incredible! While the beach isn’t ideal for swimming, the many pools more than make up for it. Tons of great restaurants on site.. be sure to make reservations early as they fill up fast.

Great variety of food options, great entertainment for adults and children, beautiful rooms and well kept properties. Would highly recommend. Travelled with four children (7-12 years old) and two seniors. We were a group of 8 occupying two rooms. We had a 15-20 minute wait for the dinner buffet one night of the seven we were there - perfectly acceptable as there is a lobby bar beside the entrance to the buffet.

The people who work there and the property are what makes this resort awesome. It is great that they have numerous golf carts to move you around the resort because it is fairly large, unfortunately, all of them seem to have been gas powered. The smell from exhaust and noise all throughout the day and evening from the carts were a bit much. It would be nice to see that the resort is trying to go over to electric carts.

We’ve stayed at the Ventus Marina Spa resort twice now. The rooms are nice and clean. The ocean view is beautiful. Food is good! Be sure to make reservations early. I highly recommend upgrading to the platinum services solely because of the butler service, and shuttle. You also gain access to the platinum lounge with premium liquor. The staff member are friendly and house keeps are excellent. Make sure to take care of them $ and they’ll take care of you :)

I recently stayed at Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort and it exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, we received warm and friendly service that made us feel welcome and appreciated. The staff went above and beyond in every way—professional, attentive, and truly dedicated to ensuring guests have an unforgettable experience.

The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained. The pools were clean and relaxing, and we loved having options for quiet time or more lively areas depending on our mood. The beach area was also fantastic, with plenty of loungers and an overall peaceful atmosphere.

Our room was spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable. Housekeeping kept everything spotless, and we especially enjoyed the private balcony with stunning views. The resort’s dining options were excellent—every meal was delicious, fresh, and presented with care, and the service at every restaurant was exceptional.

Overall, Ventus at Marina El Cid is the perfect place for relaxation, great food, and top-notch hospitality. We are already looking forward to returning and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable getaway!

My family and I just returned from a wonderful vacation at El Cid Spa & Beach Resort, and we couldn't be happier. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The property was beautiful and very well maintained. We felt very safe all around the resort and Puerto Morelos. The food was amazing! By far the best food I’ve had at an all inclusive! We booked the platinum club package (unknowingly) and it was amazing. The staff really made the trip so enjoyable. The butlers were our favourite part. They felt like family by the time our stay was over. The only negative from our stay here was the beach. The water was very brown and stinky and there were so many bugs in the water close to shore, but not the seaweed I have been reading about in many other posts from resorts on the east coast side of Mexico.

Terrible service . Front desk people were not helpful, we booked Family room and they downgraded us to a junior suite and blamed it back on us saying we asked for more beds . We didn't even ask for it. We booked family room well knowing it comes with king size bed (also is more expensive than a junior suit) but what we needed family room with our 2 little kids so they can sleep between me and my husband without rolling over and falling . When asked at the guy at the front desk he was so rude and told us there is nothing can be done. They Ended up joining our two double beds and rite in the middle was the light lamps on top of our face . my kids banged their heads on those sharp lamps while in their sleep tossing and turning at night time. Front desk guy was so rude and didn't help at all.

We love this resort and had a wonderful time on our second stay here. We love all the pool options, the beach, always able to find loungers at the beach and the food options. We were platinum this time and it was nice to be able to book restaurants through the butler. Only problem was my daughter's blanket went missing after a room clean, and we were never able to track it down. Everything else was wonderful and we will probably be back!

We recently stayed in Villa 26 during the Day of the Dead celebrations. Overall, the property is very nice and well maintained — clean, comfortable, and visually appealing. However, the experience did not fully meet our expectations.

The food was decent but not as impressive as many reviews suggested; it was clean and acceptable, but nothing particularly special or upscale. The beach, unfortunately, was a major disappointment. It had an unpleasant odor and the water looked murky, almost like sewage, which made it unappealing to swim in.

Additionally, the resort was much louder than expected. There were multiple nights of loud local parties, and the noise carried easily through the rooms due to poor sound insulation. We were not aware that this resort could be such a party environment, and it made it difficult to relax.
