During 2 of our 3 nights they were doing construction in the middle of the night. Chainsaws from 1-4AM!

Then we lost power for several hours in the afternoon while I was trying to get work done.

We love coming here and the staff are great. But when you pay for a place to sleep and they choose to build shade structures in the middle of the night, it's pretty upsetting.

Enjoyed our stay (good location on the beach and access to restaurants) but some areas of the hotel property were neglected and required updating (balcony railings missing, broken beach chairs, stained towels, clogged drains/shower heads, mold in areas). Some staff lacked training and basic English skills. We were told rudely that we were not allowed to use the beach chairs unless food/drinks were purchased but the use of beach chairs is included with the hotel stay. Staff played music loudly during early morning hours and late at night. Some staff did not understand basic requests such as beach towel exchange. Also, there are no great oceanfront views if you are upgrading your accommodations.

The room didn't have any mirror, shower head was leaking all over the place, the toilet was not flushing and making weird loud sounds in the middle of the night. ( No we didn't put and toilet paper in it )
No lightbulb, only 1 light worked. Sliding door needed force to close and lock.
We stayed at room #301. Maybe the other rooms were in a better shape.
Location is amazing, true paradise walking distance to the town.

Room 301 on main floor horrible. Huge amount of noise. 1 table lamp no switch, broken shade. Only way to switch was unplug. Fridge old and didnt fit compartment. Made constant noise. AC noisy except at low speed. Zero privacy, \"patio\" totally not private - more a public walkway to the beach. Huge piles of laundry gathered right at our front door. Bathroom: shower hanging by a thread, soap wouldnt pump, sewer gas smell. No real ventilation: bth window blocked, no screen on slider. Curtains kept closed or everyone walking by can see into room. Worst hotel room I ever had.

Rooms and hoyel are very different to the pictures in the advertisement. Property has 5 parking spots only. Rain water gets in the stairs which make then unsafe, the entrance to rooms with sea view is hidden, very narrow, unsafe and water forms a big puddle in the entrance, furniture and rooms are very old and the property maintenance is awful.

The moment you walk in your greeted by very friendly staff Fernando was very nice. The room was clean and housekeeping came in every day which I love. There are many dining options within walking distance. The view of the beach is amazing literally can sit on your porch and just take in the views. It’s very lively on the weekends. I will be back again. This was my second time staying at Ojo de Agua. They also have transportation services for a fee but it’s worth it. Thank you again to all the staff for making my trip relaxing.

This property was not at all what I expected. It felt extremely outdated and broken. The room was not secure or safe, the sliding glass door had no lock, main door light shown all around edges, could easily be broken open; shower head only sprayed out of 8 holes, was salt water so I could not even wash my hair; only mirror was a tiny one above bathroom sink; AC would drip constantly into a puddle by the bed; bed was tiny and uncomfortable; no safe for valuables; the same dead flies in the main walkway for 4 days straight even after notifying staff; one restaurant; beach seating torn and in need or repair; would not stay here again or recommend to anyone!

Where do I start. We had no hot water along with water pressure. The TV didn't work. Paid for an ocean view well on the 1st floor only thing we could see is a white wall outside the room. The walls were very thin and could hear all the water used from toilets showers etc since the plumbing for the waste water was in the room by the bed. It was very clean and the people were very nice. The beach was taken care of very well.

However, be aware that the actual hotel itself is in terrible disrepair as evidence by crumbling Stucco pour shower pressure and very basic furniture
If you’re looking for a budget hotel in Puerto Morales, but you’re willing to spend a little more money there are better options available

Property not taken care care of, what’s supposed to be a closet turned out to be a closet covered in plumbing tubes, only one power outlet in the room & it didn’t even work! I unfortunately had a terrible experience at this hotel during my 8 night stay between 24 april and 2 May 2025.

On my first morning i was advised which beach chairs i was permitted to use. One hour later another staff member advised me i had to leave my beach chair as she had a reservation of non hotel guests arriving. Despite there being many ither chairs available, she insisted i abandon my chair. This was reported and i went to an another area of the beach for a chair.
Upon arriving in this new area, the male worker informed me i had to pay for a chair.i advised him i was a guest and showed him my bracelet but he insisted i had to pay him to use the chair. This hapoened two days in a row.

My hotel room was directly above the beach club restaurant and i overheard the waitress say she could wait until the lady (myself)leaves the hotel.

On my last three nights, there was massive construction in the middle of the night consisting of chain saws, drilling and hammering. The times were between 11pm and 5 am. I have videos of the 3 separate nights with construction as i had to go to the lobby in the middle of the night as a single female and no assistance was provided.

Despite my complaints and contunied requests to speak with a manager, i was told the manager would not arrive until after my check out time. After i checked out, the hotel did not reponse to a single message, call, or email. I am disturbed by this and will be seeking legal action. Please beware of this prop

Great location on the beach However you get what you pay for
The property is a budget hotel, and I can honestly tell you that the hotel itself not the beach club is in terrible condition in the need of major repair
The rooms are very sparse and my bed had one cover sheet on it
In addition, it took approximately 30 minutes to take a shower because all the holes in the showerhead were clogged, except three, which I heard is a common theme throughout the hotel
I would recommend to anyone thinking of going to beautiful Port Morales to consider other lodging, even if it includes additional cost

We loved our first impression. Great view of beach and water. But, the sheets are old, the shower has no hot water and very little pressure, there is no water, no coffee and very noisy at night. They actually had a team of workers start at midnight tearing up a deck at the restaurant next door. They did not stop until after 3 30 am. So much for sleeping.

Like others have said, the shower head needs replacing, not much pressure. Pool needs more water and more frequent cleaning, but I spent all my days at the beach, so the pool wasn't a big deal for me.

this hotel grows on you. At first I noticed the lack of furniture, only 1 chair and it was outside on the deck; no glasses; air conditioner not workiing; very loose electrical plugins (and only 1 plugin per room); only sheets on the beds; no furniture to hold suitcases and no cabinets with drawers ( 1 closet only). But then I came to appreciate the property and staff. The air conditioner was fixed immediafely, and I got used to everythinh else. The location is super, we were on the top floor in the shade of many tall palm trees there is also a beach club and restaurant/bar with occasional live music or music videos. Many exellent dining facillities within walking distance, and also many dive shops. The name of the beach And hotel refers to a 10' diameter natural sonotae tunnel feeding colder water into the ocean about 200' offshore about 20' below the surface. My son did a dive in the srea and got somr good pictures. So this is a beach hotel, with exellent ataff and exellent location. I have already booked a return visit later this year, with different family members, because I know they will enjoy this location as much as I have.

Our room needed updating but we could see that they are in the process of updating the rooms. We could not have had a better view or location. We were at The Beach Club, which is separate from the Hotel. Friendly and welcoming front desk staff. Our room was spacious and clean, with a spacious deck and view to the beach.
The room was cleaned thoroughly daily. It's an older complex and that showed, but the spaciousness and being right on a gorgeous section of the Puerto Morelos beach made it wonderful! We will return!

Property is in a fantastic beachfront location, but is in desperate need of some serious updates and repairs. It is currently a bit of a construction site as they add on what look like nice units behind the older beachfront complex. It felt like it was a bit understaffed, but Stephanie at the Beach Club was EXCEPTIONAL - she should be moved into management. The food was excellent, but the onsite restaurant \"Ki\" was largely empty at night, despite its good food and wonderful beachfront ambience. Beachclub is fully hopping during the day, but the property is quiet and peaceful after dark. The pool is suitable and used mostly by young families who don't mind being in the middle of the construction. Overall, it has a 5 star location with a 4 star beachclub, and at best 3 star amenities. Let me be clear - this property is about the location. And thank you Stephanie and Diego!!!

First impression was we made a bad decision booking a beach club. We checked in on a Sunday, arrived at 1:30. Hot and tired. It is a very small site and it was very crowded. I did not know that they sell day use bracelets. And it seemed many locals come here. We had to wait for a parking space to open up. Our room probably had the best view, however it was closest to the restaurant and very, very loud. And on a Sunday at 3:30 there were no beach chairs left. Monday however was a different story, we loved it! It was quiet and peaceful, which is what we prefer! Great view, room for price. Easy walking to town center.

This place was a great getaway right on the beach in a quieter town. The staff was amazing, room cleaned daily.

I only have 2 complaints. First it's impossible to find. Need better location instructions. Second, I came to the beach with my family to enjoy the fresh air. I couldn't sit on my balcony, in a beach chair, or at the restaurant without people chain-smoking everywhere. It ruins the nice outdoors. Please become a non-smoking property and we will return.

Beautiful view but Beach Club staff terrible

The Ocean view from the third floor was breathtaking. The cleaning staff did a great job. However the staff working the beach club and restaurant staff were rude, They hassles us everyday of our stay about NOT sitting in the lounge chairs (they didn't want us to use them?), they accused us of stealing reservation signs at the restaurant and beach club and said that all chairs in the \"beach club\" were taken (most days). The advertisement for this hotel as a \"beach club\" is misleading since lounge chairs on the beach are not given to hotel guests ($250 mx pesos extra per day). Plus additional activities like snorkeling, yoga, beach club chairs have an extra fees. No continental breakfast included as advertised, no free water or coffee or tea as advertised either.

This hotel is located right by the sea. While the facilities are a bit dated, the daily cleaning keeps everything spotless. It offers excellent access to snorkeling spots and restaurants, with free beach chairs and an on-site swimming pool that made my stay truly enjoyable.

The photos are definitely old of this property - it's much more run down and in need of repair/renovations. It seems to be poorly managed and while some staff tried to be helpful, most were on the rude side and not the most welcoming. The booking we made clearly stated Queen bed but it was a twin when we arrived and the said it wasn't their fault, but rather Expedia's for translating wrong. We argued quite a while with them saying nothing else was available, but finally they came up with a room with a King bed so that was good (plus this room was way less dodgy that the first one!) Our first morning though as I we went to leave, the top deadbolt on the door was locked and wouldn't release - we were locked in the room. We called the front desk for help and they claimed they couldn't even find our reservation even after telling them our room number. Luckily my husband is handy managed to use our corkscrew for some MacGyver action and we got out (removed it completely so it wouldn't happen again) but with no help from staff. Only thing we liked about the property is that was directly on the beach. Puerto Morelos is a safe town to explore and location of the hotel is within walking distance of many great restaurants, shops, and town square. We loved the area, but would NEVER stay at this hotel again.

The property itself needs lots of renovation. They were tons of calcium buildup on all water fixtures in the bathroom, which was disgusting. The room was dirty when I got it. Hotel has horrible customer service. They are accommodating to nothing. You can’t even ask them to get you a cab. Only thing I liked about the property is located directly on the beach. It is in a safe town lots of things to eat in the neighborhood Places to walk around, but the beach was amazing. I will definitely visit that area again. Will never stay in that hotel again not even for free.

The room is very clean. The property is not new but maintained in good condition. The staff are very friendly. The beach is beautiful! There is a restaurant (Restuarant Ki) with food with reasonable quality. Breakfast fruit juice is very good. The coffee is also great! We picked omelette for the breakfast combo ($10 USD). The mushrooms and spinach are very fresh. Within walking, there are other restaurants also, some have great seafood. We enjoyed our stay. P.S. it is good to pre-book the ride from airport to the hotel. The people waiting outside ask for very high price (double the pre-booked price) for the ride.

What a gem. If you’re looking for the fancy all inclusive resort with perfect everything and all the bells and whistles, then This place is not for you. But if you are looking for a spot right on the beach on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with a restaurant that has amazing food, great service (thanks Freddy and Jesus!). There were always beach chairs available no matter what time we went. We could sit at them and watch the people and listen to live music in the weekends. Please note: there is construction on the property. It’s a bit ugly and concerning at first but I think that’s why we got such a cheap price. It’s only on the road side of the property and did t really bother us. We were there for the beach anyways and that side was incredible!!!
I was travelling single mama with child and we felt safe always.

Checked out due to room conditions. No refund. Hotel is getting run down. Beach club was ok...but needs some upkeep as well.
Staff in restaurant and club are good. Hotel has sewage smell in room. Couldn't sleep there....without respiratory difficulty or headache due to mold and sewage

Stephanie, Laura and Sergio were all great along with the maids.
Location to the beach and the lounge chairs - awesome view
Management is RUDE and unaccommodating
Maids let our friends into our locked room to get something of theirs out. - This shouldn't happen - it was there items
1 key only - even if 2 of you in the room
No toilet seat in the women's in lobby in one stall
No screen - and air cond. quit 2 nights
No washcloths - manager told me to go buy my own
No SAFE - we finally got 1 safe for 3 of our rooms to share - but wasn't secured down
Big disappointed - Garden room looks over back of the hotel with a small garden section
A visiting guest with MS was using a golf cart to get close to the stairs for easy of walking and the management stopped her from bringing golf cart close - this was in no way accommodating and should of been a good reason for an exception to the rules. Management said this was for safety - this was not a bunch of kids running around on a golf cart!
Pool is under construction - never used it - along with building new rooms right next to the pool - loud and noisy.
This seems like a rant and picky but this was too many things that can be easily fixed to not say anything. We understood that it was a 3 star and but I have a hard time with that rating.

We were not given the room we had booked and no discount was given. Also there is a daily fee for the sewer system that is not mentioned in the booking site. While not expensive, it's nice to know all costs related to a stay. Otherwise the beach and beach staff Stephanie especially and restaurant staff were wonderful. The young lady at the desk was so helpful

I loved ojo de aqua beach club. Their restaurant is the best in the world. The food was so great. It is on the ocean and is quiet and safe. The staff is friendly and helpful. The ocean is steps away and I loved that with all my heart. Great stay for me at this hotel.

Ojo- Falta supervisión y mantenimiento -

Mala experiencia, le urge mantenimiento, habitación básica, TV inservible, regadera tapada del sarro o sal con problemas sale agua, en la playa apartamos 3 camastros q no estaban ocupados, en lo q regresamos con las cosas q dejamos en el coche, las habia movido un mesero argumentando q los 12 camastros cercanos estaban ocupados, obviamente al estar hospedados nos dimos cuenta permanecieron vacíos todo el día, ( el mesero con la cola entre las patas) , lo único bueno fue al otro día el desayuno bien y el encargado nos atendió de muy buena gana
