we just got back from a week at pearl for the first time. All the staff are so friendly . Our room had great view of the ocean and pool.Nice the resort is on the smaller side, never a far walk anywhere.

We had a wonderful vacation! Our room was clean , the staff were pleasant & extremely conscientious to our needs . Being a self proclaimed’foodie’ I will say that the food was 10/10 and the presentation was top notch ! The bar served only top shelf liquors nothing watered down at all. There was nightly entertainment & dancing which we enjoyed very much . This resort was everything we had hoped for & more . The only thing lacking was a small ‘gift shop’ to purchase minor things such as aspirin, toothpaste & things of that nature , but we survived our stay even without !

What keeps me coming back is the incredible attention to detail from every single staff member. They’ve truly earned my business for life. Breakfast is excellent, and the activities are thoughtfully planned for guests of all interests. I enjoyed the gym, the pool, the dancing, and the evening events—they were absolutely incredible. The entire property is beautifully maintained and run with true professionalism. Everything about the experience is top-notch. I’d also like to personally acknowledge the staff members who made my stay especially memorable: Carmen, Candice, Matt, Carlos, Orlando, Gabi, Saul, Christian, Eddie, and Antonio.

The place is excellent, great food and friendly staff. Each staff members from the gardener, cleaning ladies, server to the concierge are so nice and ask always if we need anything, always greeting us.
It was a small resort compare to Desire RM, but we had fun. Compared to RM, it was more older group guests and more friendlier at Pearl. One thing I had noticed though, guests had used Jacuzzi for more relaxing time than playtime. We enjoyed the beach but it wasnt private. The disco place was quiet, not a lot of guests were dancing, they had stayed more at the main bar or mingled at the jacuzzi. We loved our room, highly recommended the master suite.
Overall, we love to come back but maybe few nights only!

Desire Pearl is a small but wonderful resort! The food was good to great. The pool was divided into the quiet side and the party side to suit your mood. Ultimately, the concept of the resort, that of a fun, sexy, clothing optional experience is what makes extra special.

I would be remiss if I did not mention all the great staff who take the time to get to know you and try their best to make sure your experience is satisfactory. The servers and staff at the restaurants were all great (shout out to Rey, Poot, May, Carlos, Orlando, Isaac).

The loungers and beds by the pool are assigned, which was really helpful as we never had to worry about finding a place to sit. Horacio was fantastic all week, making sure we were taken care of. Either Victor or Antonio would check on us each day to make sure we wanted for nothing.

The concierge service was very convenient and useful. Mayte was an absolute star, helping us get reservations, answering questions, and being an amazingly friendly person.

Lastly, the playmakers were the staff trying to keep people engaged. They would run games by the pool, MC the nightly entertainment, and just chat you up by the pool. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable. An extra special thank you to Abi, Jessica, and JJ!

While the property itself is fine, it basically felt like any other time share property. After paying resort prices, you will be pressured into buying one of their “Premium Memberships”. Once you let them know that you’re not interested in paying more for services that should be included in the rates charged, you will pretty much be on your own for pool and bar services while servers and pool attendants give great service to the “premium” members.. We won’t be returning.

Desire RM Pearl is our go to resort to celebrate a birthday or anniversary and create memories! The property is very well kept, the food is always great, but the staff is what makes the difference. The rooms are not ultra luxury and that's ok because you spend very little time in your room. With so much relaxing on a daybed, hanging out by the pool, having fun with your partner, or enjoying a playroom, you appreciate how well the property is maintained. Shout out to GABI the pool server, Monica the pool server, Miguel and Victor the daybed and towel attendants, Javier, Luis, Jorge and many more great bartenders, Belén, Manuel, and many more great food servers, and the great play makers that keep things fun and exciting all day. I also want to mention the management staff. Daniel was regularly walking the property to ensure that it was in top presentation shape. He also did check ins with guests to ensure guests are happy and that all was working good for them. Hannai the e-concierge is also doing a great job with providing services available for Expedia guest benefits.
We are making friends for life on these vacations, continuing to strengthen our relationship, and exploring new experiences with wonderful people...just amazing.
The only suggestion would be to match some of the music during the shows to the theme night. For example, on Fetish night, erotically charged music with lots of sensuality would be 100 times better than Rock pop and sock hop music.

We just returned from our first stay at Desire Pearl.

What was excellent:

Staff - friendly, professional, hardworking, and always on point

Dining - all three restaurants are very good; fresh and tasty offerings

Spa - beautiful, with a variety of services. Couples massages highly recommended!

Pool - the daytime spot to be, either on the party side or the quiet side. Swim-up bar is lovely.

Jacuzzi - the evening/night gathering spot; also has a swim-up bar

Entertainment - daytime activities, nightly themed parties and shows. Playmaker staff does an excellent job running events and getting guests involved

What wasn't great:

A/C - no central air in the common areas, so the club, restaurants, lobby, etc were all uncomfortably hot. We left the evening party/nightclub early every night, though the events were great. It was just too hot. I understand that the temperature is much more tolerable in the high season, but room rates are also more expensive.

Beach - Seaweed currently (as of June 2025) prevents getting into the ocean. You can walk further down the beach, away from the property, to useable beach areas.

A note about the vibe: Most guests are aged 40+ and many are premier members who stay frequently and already know the other regular guests. Everyone is friendly and nice, but there are cliques that can be tough to infiltrate.

I would call this resort laid back compared to others of its kind. Most wild activity takes place between midnight and dawn.

traveled for wifes birthday and the staff went above and beyond for her special day. First would like to thank Gaby for her always attentive pool service. She knew it was wifes birthday the next day and she was working aphrpodites in that time and when we showed up she had a special table and menu for her. Daniel the guest services manager also gave us a vip poolbed for the day and a special dinner. Lots of others I want to mention that also went above and beyond in their service. I have been in Tentation hotel but this was an unique experience. We do not practice the free life or being swingers but we enjoyed the stay in Desire Pearl. People were friendly and they respect us. We made friends and met people from other countries and usa states. Vincent the Bell Boy super attentive.. Victor in the pool was super nice with accommodations. The playmaker team Felix, Edward and the Venezuelan girl gave the extra mile . We really had a good time .

Staff, food and rooms were very good. The grounds were well kept and was overall a beautiful layout. Couple tips: they right off the bat are going to want to pitch a “members” program to you, go ahead and kill and hour listening and enjoying a good drink and then politely decline. There are no real benefits to the membership and it’s insanely expensive but you get a voucher for a couple hundred dollars to use so it’s worth it for that. The shows are fairly good for a smaller venue but get a bit repetitive, after the 3rd night we just skipped it and enjoyed the jacuzzi while it was still quiet and relaxing because after the show then it fills up with a bunch of drunk people. It’s couples only so the creep factor is low so that’s a positive. Overall it’s a nice place to go and spend a few days, if you’re looking for a party atmosphere then you might be disappointed though it was much livelier than we like but it definitely wasn’t a calm relaxed place either. From people we talked to you either love it or hate it, personally I’m in the middle. I’ll definitely go again but wouldn’t be hurt if it wasn’t for a couple years. So if you’re looking for a place to lay out in the sun next to a beautiful pool and have some well made drinks and eat some good food definitely visit. If you’re looking for all that on a budget then you might want to look elsewhere. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Therefore wasn’t up to temperature, the technician just added hot water twice a day, good only for one hour max, and twice from our 8 night stay in the evening we didn’t have hot water for shower.., manager Daniel not to concerned and didn’t rectify the situation…

First time staying at a nude resort and my spouse and I definitely had our reservations about it but we found ourselves feeling non judged, welcomed, free to be ourselves and within a few hours we were naked as well. It was surprisingly comfortable. Who knew it just felt natural. No one gawking or being disrespectful. It is a couples only resort so singles cannot stay here. It’s a very small resort, so it’s intimate and easy to meet others or be on your own if you want to just connect with your partner. They have 2 restaurants and 1 buffet. We found ourselves eating 4 times at the Japanese restaurant and trying something different each time. The dinner we had at Pearl was French night and it was good. We never ate at the buffet for dinner nor did we order room service. At the end of our trip we found ourselves reconnected and rejuvenated. We will go back and instead of staying 7 days will probably do 5 but it’s well worth it for us. Property is well kept. The spa is awesome. The only negative we found was the mattress is like a block of concrete. The second night they added a foam topper which helped but still hard and the bed sheets are scratchy.

The reservations at restaurants and Bali sun beds for Stay and Play Members only ( SPM)

When we arrived we were informed reservations for the restaurants were not required. Marked on my resort map by reception. I was very displeased to find out as a Non- SPM, it was not the case of reservation not being required, but Non-SPM's were not allowed to make reservations. As they closed the individual restaurants on two evenings . The Pearl one night for SPMs. The Aphrodite on the Friday night for another non disclosed function. The Aphrodite is the largest restaurant , so this means the rest of the resorts guests were required to wait for availability at the Sushi Restaurant (in the rain) or the Pearl an hour wait (under cover) as SPM's with reservations were welcomed.

As Non-SPM's, we were were offered the last two sun loungers available, this is at 7am in the morning . When we asked about the Bali Beds, as we were not SPM's, the beds not available to us.

Now, we will never be members of any single resort chain. We enjoy travelling to many destinations to much.

However, if policy excludes guests from using or booking amenities, this policy, should be included on your website or passed on to your Booking Partners. This was not the case!

Positives, everything else, staff are wonderful, food is excellent , quiet areas outstanding. Spa very professional . Innovative, elegant dining experiences with a MXN flair. Guests responded by aslo dressing to the 9's

Why 4 stars and not 5?
1) food in the upscale restaurants was very good but buffet was just ok. Selction was limited as were dining times. There was a coffee shop but it was closed more than it was open.
2) the shower was nearly impossible to get a steady temperature. Just when you think you have it, your getting boiled then comfortable then cool.
3) ac worked great...except the only way to get it to stop cooling was to turn it off. Then it would warm up and you had to turn it back on.

Correct these things and leave the pool bar open past 5pm. And its 5 stars.

Everything was beautiful and amazing. Checkin was very friendly and fast. Didn’t get early checkin but did checkin right on time. Food was plentiful and good but I’m a very basic eater and most foods were fancy and complicated. My wife loved it but I couldn’t eat a lot due to cheese and seafood restrictions. Property was beautiful. Service throughout outside of checkin was good not great. Service wasn’t bad at all but not overly friendly like its sister resort. This could also be due to it being larger and busier. Overall very happy with our stay and would love to go back.

The beach had a lot of sea weed that should have been cleaned up and removed from the beach area on a daily basis.

The toilet leaked in my room. I notified housekeeping multiple times. It was never repaired. The floor in the toilet room stayed wet with water from the leaking toilet or leaking tub. I could not tell which device the water was coming from.

Our stay at Desire Riviera Maya Pearl is always a great vacation. We got exactly what we wanted from it. The staff, especially Gabi and Servando, are some of the best we have ever encountered. Victor, Horacio, and Miguel, the great guys who arrange for our daily pool bed, are very responsive and accommodating. The only negative we can say about our room is the bed is ULTRA firm. We get it, everyone has a preference, but this mattress felt like sleeping on concrete.

A tropical storm moved in while we were there and all I can say is the management of that incident was nothing short of amazing. Amazing staff, by the second day most would recognize us and our preferences. Pool concierge and team, bartenders, and spa staff were excellent.
The food was good and the play makers kept up a fun and lively atmosphere.
If you want to go for the party and clothing optional areas this is a great choice!
The only negative was the beach. The water was murky and the sea weed was everywhere. Not the resort’s fault, just the location inside the reef.
We go to the Caribbean for the ocean, swimming and snorkeling so this might not be our first choice next time.

Pros: The staff was awesome; the food was good but could use a bit more. Cons: The majority of the resort is outdated so for the price you pay i think these things should be considered, pool was shallow i believe it was 3ft all the way around, this place doesn't have much to do so be aware of that, they have daily theme nights that are fun and all but during the day it's by the pool, drinking, eating, or getting busy with a couple or 2 if you know what i mean. THIS PLACE IS COUPLES ONLY FOR A REASON PPL!!! Overall, we had a good time me and my partner did things there that we hadn't done before so for that i thank the resort for letting us get wild and freaky! I would consider going back it just wouldn't be my first choice. To all who are planning a trip here please do your homework on the type of life style here at this resort.

Pool concierge, waitresses/waiters, playmakers, and evening entertainment is the best. Loved the Angel/devil fashion show!! Rooms were immaculate with the most comfortable beds. Food was delicious!

The beach was never cleaned of the sargassum and cups/food plates seldom picked up from pool and hot tub area which attracted birds and wildlife creatures. Check in and check out took forever and very dishonest when we were told we could use our Expedia credit and the resort spa credit for our massage then told no when we had to pay our room bill.

Last year pants were not required for the Desire restaurant and this year we were made to eat outside with the heat and wild animals, twice.

We had a great time at Desire Resort Pearl celebrating our anniversary. We only got to stay 4 days & 3 nights, but it was a great time to relax, eat great food, enjoy fun cocktails, and enjoy all the activities. The staff was amazing and always willing to help. From the bartenders, wait staff, spa specialists, bellhops, to the concierge, all did a fantastic job. The beach and water were amazing. The pool was clean and a lot of fun on the active side and very relaxing on the quiet side. We’re looking forward to going back at our next opportunity.

This was our 2nd stay at Desire Pearl and they \"wowed\" us once again. The staff goes above and beyond to get to know us by name, they are extremely attentive and friendly, and they welcome you wholeheartedly into the Desire family. The experience is just what we prefer and have already booked our next visit.
This property offers something for everyone. You can enjoy all the \"fun\" of the quiet side or spend the day by the swim up bar and DJ, playing in couples games with the playmakers.

This was our fist time staying at any of the Desire properties. It is a beautiful resort, very well maintained, wonderful spa with many treatments to choose from. The food in their 3 restaurants was excellent quality, and 2 had daily themes to vary the selection/style cuisine.
What made this one of the best vacations ever was the staff. From the first evening, Candice warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home (Konnichiwa). She is also a great singer and MC, so full of life, it's contagious. All the staff was great and called us by name - especially the \"playmakers\" will hold a special place in our hearts. John was an excellent dance instructor, pool volleyball ref/player, and provided personal service, even lending his sunglasses for volleyball. He was hilarious in his full body costume, as volleyball ref-it's a must see. Sam and Felix were so fun, and made us feel comfortable participating in all the activities, which enriched our vacation tremendously. How often do you get the chance to have a good-looking latin dance partner... We can also highly recommend the Cuban sandwiches, when you know, you know. Alejandra was very sweet and it was a lot of fun to play volleyball with her; the themed evenings would not have been the same without the PMs. All the staff was wonderful, including Isaac (Pearl Rest.), Fernando (Spa), all bartenders, housekeepers, waiters, pool attendants, and DJ's made for the best vacation ever and we miss them already. We will be back!

Amazing trip as always. Entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful from the second they take your bags until the second you walk out the doors to go home. Checkin is quick and super friendly. The servers at the restaurant are great. The entertainment by the pool “The Playmakers” are extremely personable, exciting, funny, and just overall amazing. All the playmakers are amazing. One of the main ones who speaks the most, Candice, is so personable. She is constantly joking, smiling and laughing. It’s very contagious. Alejandro also spoke a lot. She was equally as great. The male playmakers didn’t speak as much but my wife enjoyed their enthusiasm and humor and appearance as well. They are a great team. A beautiful property that is very well kept up. Great music. Cannot recommend this place enough if you like having some adult fun or just wanna sit back relax and enjoy the scenery.

When we first got to the property and checked in. After going to the room, we saw that the room was a bit dated not what we were used to, and the TV was giving some issues. But after going out meeting the staff and rest of the guest there, we felt everyone was welcoming. The first impression quickly faded. The staff was phenomenal, and the guest were all friendly and everyone would talk to you and hold good conversations. The food was beyond excellent at all 3 restaurants. The restaurants staff Was very attentive to details and made sure you were happy with their services (Jose Luis, Servando, Carmen and Esmerelda. I can't say I had any bad experience at this resort I would give it an excellent rating. The only bad thing was we couldn't go in the ocean because of the seaweed which is understandable they had a really big pool and a big Jacuzzi. The entertainment staff play makers were excellent (Candice and the crew) They made sure to call you by your name and made sure you were having a good time. I must say this is one of the best resorts that I have stayed in years, and I am definitely looking to go back soon.

A very Happy Birthday

This was our 6th trip to Desire Pearl and I have to say that it is consistently excellent. The staff here are amazing. Check in was a breeze and our room was great. The cleaning staff went out of there way and decorated our room for my wife's birthday. All the bartenders and wait staff worked they're butts off making sure guests are well taken care of. The entertainment staff were amazing, they put everything into making our stay enjoyable. A very special thanks to all the staff. The food was great we especially enjoyed Suki. The grounds were meticulously maintained. We can't say enough about this resort except that we can't wait for our next trip there.

Staff is beyond excellent. The resort itself is kept quite clean. The majority of the food and dining is excellent. They have a problem with beach erosion and sea grass floating up on the beach, daily. To there credit, some poor guy is out there every morning gathering up the bulk of the sea grass. On another note, their website states no explicit sexual activity in public areas. However, I guess the beach and the jacuzzi are not considered public. One guest jokes \"the Jacuzzi is like Sperm Soup\". Haha, It's really not funny. My gf and I, really wanted to enjoy the Jacuzzi and the beach, but not like that. If some couple wanted to get intimate, away from the crowd, I could care less, but not next to us.

Above and beyond!!!

We just returned from another wonderful week at Desire. We've been there several times and continue to return for many reasons, but the primary one is the amazing staff and service. The resort does an outstanding job of hiring and retaining exceptional employees who are genuinely committed to making every guests' stay perfection. The resort is pristinely maintained, restaurant and food choices offer a wide variety, the food quality is outstanding (fresh seafood, tender steaks, etc.), and the bar service and selection is more than we needed. Our standard room was very large with plenty of closet space and an amazing third floor view of the ocean. We used the gym daily and it has everything we needed for our workouts - free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. Everyone is helpful and ALWAYS smiling (genuinely). We continue to marvel that each time we return to Desire, the employees not only remember us but also remember details about us such as our favorite beverages and how we take our coffee. It's impressive to say the least. I'd love to mention every employee by name but everyone - front desk staff, bellmen, pool concierges, waiters, waitresses, chefs/kitchen staff, spa staff, landscapers, maintenance men, housekeeping, bartenders and resort entertainers - work incredibly hard to ensure all guests have a positive experience. We'll continue to go back to Desire for this reason! Well done as always.
