The hotel and the beach view are beautiful. It’s a family friendly spot, excellent service staff members with the exception of the occasional personnel from the front desk. Other than that just great, the servers are super kind and friendly.

The room ac was not working well, this was reported but it did not get fixed during my stay.

They also need to offer different food, for example Mexican food. We were expecting a Mexican menu.

Otherwise, it’s an excellent vacation spot and definitely recommend.

Our stay was great, the staff was super friendly and helpful at all times of the day. The pool was great as well, the entertainment staff did a good job keeping the crowd alive in the heat. The only thing I’d like to see different is the variety of food. A lot of American food, my family was expecting more Mexicans dishes.

We recently stayed 5 nights at Dreams Sapphire. We had 5 adults and two kids ages 7 and 9. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we all could all agree this resort was fantastic. Upon check in we were given sparkling wine and juice for the kids. Our rooms were clean and inviting. My husband and I were celebrating an anniversary, and my grandma had just had a birthday. There was cake in her room and champagne in ours! Very thoughtful touches. Any time we needed something they were very quick to accommodate us. My kids had such a great time on the water slides and main pool. We all had plenty of food we liked as well as drinks. My kids thought they were something special getting virgin drinks from the bar! The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was entertainment most nights and plenty of activities for the kids. The only negative- which is out of the resort’s control- was the amount of seaweed on the beach and in the ocean. We were more than happy to spend our days at the pool though! Overall, I would recommend this resort to anyone and I would definitely love to go back!

Overall we enjoyed our stay but I would not stay in Puerto Morelos again. At no fault to the resort the ocean was just not pretty - lots of seaweed and water looked like tea.

Pros- I really liked the layout of the resort with the rooms away from the restaurant/pool area and the restaurants all close together. It’s completely worth it and maybe necessary to booked at least Preferred level to get access to the best restaurants. The buffet was not great but we loved Blue Water Grill and the other restaurants. The servers, hosts, and virtually all staff were EXCELLENT. People- bring pesos and TIP PLEASE. In the US you can order them from your bank branch. I totally recommend the swim out ocean front rooms. We had full service out there and it was lovely. Also- the room service is great!

Cons- our room had terrible air conditioning so I didn’t sleep well at all. The food at the poolside grill was also kind of terrible.

The staff and facilities are lovely. Love that it’s not a gigantic resort. Plenty of spaces to relax and enjoy the gorgeous ocean views. Loved the Blue Grill Restaurant for a chill lunch. Buffet is great for breakfast, but don’t miss the handmade Sopas near the theater. Felix was an awesome server at the pool, so helpful. Will definitely be back.

Staff was amazing like ABSOLUTELY amazing , food was amazing in every restaurant, so many activities to do.
The only thing me and my gf didn’t like so much was the fact that we had to ask them multiple times to clean our room and give us extra towels, slippers, water, or change the bed sheets. Otherwise, everything was so perfect especially the restaurants and the buffet ( it had a lot of variety of foods and very clean)

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel and cannot recommend it.

If you are coming for the ocean, be aware of the heavy seaweed issue. There was a large amount in the water, and it wasn’t properly cleaned until the last days of our stay. Even then, the smell was strong and the water remained unusable. We didn’t go into the ocean even once.

The food was very average — nothing special and sometimes not even tasty. We mostly ate at the main buffet. As Preferred Club guests, we didn’t see any real benefits. Access to certain areas, like the adults-only rooftop pool, required an additional upgrade, making it feel pointless.

Rooms are outdated and clearly worn — furniture is damaged and needs attention.

The main reason for the 1-star rating is a serious situation. We came for a wedding, and the bride got food poisoning from the hotel. She was extremely unwell, fainting, and could barely stand. Despite this, the staff made no accommodations, refused to adjust the schedule, and offered no solutions. The ceremony went ahead, but she was taken to the hospital shortly after.

Management showed zero empathy or follow-up, even the next day. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially for such an expensive resort.

Spent seven days at Dreams with my daughters & a friend. The rooms were always clean, the food was excellent, loved the nightly entertainment & the staff were very friendly. It was unfortunate that the beaches were full of seaweed & unpleasant to walk on. I would recommend that some rules be posted regarding reserving chairs. There appeared to be unnecessary drama on several occasions. Overall, I would highly recommend Dreams Sapphire!

Stayed at the Villa. This was the best part of the stay. Having our own private pool was great as the kids went in and out all day. The villas itself was amazing! Felt like our own little home. The pool and rooms cleaned daily. The only bad thing about staying at the villa is that there is no ocean view and it is very noisy during the day due to a lot of construction going on in the area. With the Villa, we Got complimentary Cabanas by the pool which was nice and your own butler to serve you. Food at the buffet and blue water was excellent. The kids club was very underwhelming. the facilities overall seem a bit older. Mini golf was a 2/10. The entertainment at night was top notch. The pool was nice, spacious. Beach was very dirty and barely anyone there. Not the place to go if your expect to get in the beach water. Overall it was a decent stay.

This is not an all inclusive resort as it states. Most amenities are not available unless you have a membership with the hotel. The special restaurants prioritize members ,large tanning beds are $100 dollars per day. Rooftop pool is only accessible to members. They walk around offering coconuts for $9. Basically felt like a New York hotel. Spa treatments were priced as New York prices as well. Pools close early. Hotel overall is very Americanized didn’t really feel like Mexico. If you’re looking for the Mexican culture this is not it.

Alex did not greet us kindly. Everyone in our party including our teenage kids picked up on his demeanor. When ask about my VIP status he said Expedia did not call to notify the hotel. I had to show him conversation I had woth Expedia from 2 months prior asking about Preferred Club. I then had to email a screenshot to Alex so he could forward it to the manager. We were not offered a room upgrade but given Preferred Club. Such a disappointment. Don't get suckered into touring Dreams Natura. Sasha said 90 min and it took 3 hours. We used the vouchers for massages. The spa facilities and the staff were lovely. FYI Sasha said that because we were not in a Preferred Club room we couldn't get the better deals. The Preferred Club pool looked great but our son who is 6 foot 3 wasn't allowed in because he is 15. The pool concierge had me walk down to the (not so nice) P Club lounge to ask a manger for approval to let my son in. He said no. I pointed out how they considered him an adult when we booked the massage and when we looked into an excursion but he said no. Our family of 4 and the couple that joined us agreed we will not return.

We visited this resort for a destination wedding and it was hands down the best wedding I've ever attended. The rooms were clean, had ample space, and the beds were comfy. The main pool was huge and the entertainment staff were great! There were several bars and restaurant choices so there weren't any long waits. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return in the future.

Overall, our experience at this all-inclusive hotel in Mexico was very good. The cleanliness was acceptable, the staff were very friendly, and there was a nice variety of food options. In general, everything was fine; however, a few aspects could be improved. First, the hotel has only two pools. One is a main pool that everyone can access, including children, and it constantly plays very loud music. So, for anyone hoping to relax, this pool is not suitable. Many people go on vacation wanting a quiet escape, and unfortunately, this pool is not conducive to that. The second pool is much smaller, has no ocean view, and it’s an adults-only pool, but you need an upgraded membership to access it. So, with a standard booking, you can’t use it. The other option is the beach, where you can relax, and there were a decent number of beach loungers. However, unlike many other hotels, or even some of the loungers inside this hotel, the beach loungers were all hard plastic. They were extremely stiff and uncomfortable, so you couldn’t really relax on them for long. Another issue we had was with the timeshare sellers. They were extremely pushy, and despite us telling them multiple times that we weren’t interested, they kept approaching us in the hotel and restarting the conversation. Lastly, we were told that if we spent about 20 minutes talking to them, we’d get a coupon for $40 off a spa massage. But when I went to the spa, they showed me two different menus—one with the coupon and one with

This was our second time at this property with the 1st visit 15 years ago. The property has changed owners and it seems like it has gone down somewhat in quality. Pros: Food was good and had a decent variety to chose from. Housekeeping, pool, restaurant, and bar staff were all excellent. Resort was kept clean. Pool areas were comfortable and offered a decent amount of seating. Cons: Concierge staff were friendly and helpful but were extremely pushy about touring sister properties. We upgraded to an oceanfront room only to find that the hotel had piled up all of the seaweed from the beach (an entire dump trucks amount) right below our balcony which was not only an eyesore, but also caused an unpleasant odor and an abundance of tiny insects. Gym was only open until noon. Room was comfortable but was starting to show it's age and the amenities like shampoo, conditioner, bodywash were significantly lower quality than our first visit. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning again. Understandably, some of the cons listed are a bit nitpicky, but they are things we noticed and are what kept me from giving the resort a 5 star rating.

First and foremost, we enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff were great from the moment you arrive until the day you leave. And that goes for all of them in all departments. The resort is very clean and the room we booked was as expected. The reason that it did not get a five star is because of the restaurants and wait situations. We paid extra to be a preferred club member customers and did not at all feel any preferential treatment. If you wait after 7 PM to eat, you would definitely be waiting at least 90 minutes to 2 hours. They have no reservations except for their Teppanyaki dinner. And even that I could never get a reservation except for 10 PM for one night. The fact that they have one restaurant that’s temporarily closed might be a factor, but they should’ve made other provisions. The food however, were all delicious in all restaurants, including the buffet every time we were there. Our favorite for breakfast was the Bluewater Grill and dinner at Bordeaux their French restaurant. We hope that when we come back to this hotel, this issue would be resolved. And a big shout out to Gerardo our bell guy and Sandra who’s in charge of housekeeping for room 110 in that floor. Their service truly stood out!

Things that were great:
-the size of our junior swim-out room and the mini pool
-the waterslides
-the food
-the greenery on the resort ground
-the gym
-Filippe serving us at the buffet for dinner service (best server at the resort!)
-the entertainment
-the cleanliness of the rooms
-the hot tub

Things that weren’t great:
-the (rentable for a price) cabanas at the big pool blocking the view of the pool
-the fact that the big pool was unheated (there were more people in the hot tub than in the pool)
-the staff trying to sell you things every time you leave your room
-the beach (SO much seaweed)
-the tractor running on the beach trying to get rid of the seaweed
-the hard beds

All in all, we had a good time. I understand the resort makes money off the cabanas but they’re all front row around the pool so they block the view for hundreds of people and they’re expensive to rent. I also understand the need for the tractor to work on the seaweed (sargassum) situation but we were hoping for Caribbean beaches. We should have spent less and gone to Puerto Vallarta!

The Italian place had tiny portions. The teppanyaki qas only available one night, after 9pm which was disappointing. The beach had incredibly soft sand, but a fair amount of seaweed and the water was murky most days we were there. Always chairs available on the beach, but tough to get chairs around the pool, unless you saved them before 9ish. Shows were good, and kids club had decent programming for kids. We loved the prehispanic show in particular, very impressive. Overall a great stay at a very good smaller resort.

The room had a strong smell of mildew, and we could not be moved to another room. The staff was very friendly and cleaned the AC and used an ozone machine twice in our 4 nights, which helped in the short term, but not the long term. The ceiling had a black mold ring that was dripping water. It wasn't nice. Instead of feeling relaxed, I had a feeling of being stressed. No one wants to be deep in home maintenance on vacation. This was a swim out king in building 2. The positives were the individual staff and the Mexican breakfasts.

Room Cleaning was always delayed, swim out pool in room was not properly maintained and not cleaned at least while I was at resort. Lot of birds and its garbage at pool.
Internet wifi and room service issues during my stay, landline was not working to connect with front desk even though I got preferred club room there is no difference in experience when compared to other rooms. Don't spend much on preferred club rooms.

We had a room right by the beach bar, a swim out and view of the ocean, so it was perfect. The walk to the Adult pool was not far. The property is very large ! Lots going on all the time! The room was clean and the food was very good. The service at the big pool was slow with so many people there. The adult pool was nice and quiet to read or nap and the service was great! In the restaurants they offered blankets if you were cold. The evenings were chilly!

95% of the staff is amazing!
Even though we requested rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors 2 months in advance, the first 2 nights we got rooms on the first floor which we were not happy, the second night we got switched to the 3rd floor and the room was a disaster, light fixtures were falling, drawers didn’t close all the way, every hour or so it sounded like someone was trying to get in the room, then on day 3 we got switched again to another room on the second floor, and this one was finally good!
This is our 5th year returning to this resort, and if it wasn’t for the staff I wouldn’t consider to come back!

we had an ocean view Club room and it was very nice, HUGE shower. But the AC reset to 20C (68F) all the time so we had to turn it on and off to keep from freezing.
Food was good, not spectacular. Buffet good option. Rooftop bar/grill on our building FABULOUS for lunch. Dinner difficult as they don't take reservations and if you don't get your name in by 5:45PM you will have a 2+ hour wait at specialty restaurants. In the lobby was a taco cart making fresh tacos every night and was a go to.
Drinks good, typical fare. but we had a superman and there are great. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Main pool was very nice and large. We mainly stayed at the adults Club pool which was quieter and much less windy as the ocean wind was howling the whole time we were there. Activities just okay. 4 of the things we wanted to do never materialized and we were left wondering what was going on.
We had to leave a day early due to family emergency and got no one to help with a nights refund. Expedia sent us tot hem and they sent us to Expedia. VERY FRUSTRATING...

Overall a good place to stay.

Dreams Sapphire Resort is an overall wonderful resort and was a great choice for our family. We have stayed at multiple resorts over 20+ years in Cancun and Riviera Maya. The food and restaurant selection is excellent—highly recommend the rooftop sushi bar for lunch (you can get more than sushi; they have a lot of great food options) —and we loved both the smoothie bar and coffee shop on site. Breakfast at the buffet is very good and offers plenty of high quality options.

We did not travel with small children (we have a 16+ teenager) and we stayed in a Club & Villas oceanfront room, which was a standout experience for us; the access to the rooftop pool and rooftop restaurant is absolutely worth it. The rooftop infinity pool has amazing ocean views, plenty of space, and feels quiet, private, and relaxing—an ideal escape within the resort. The ocean/ beach area was also nice!

The rooms we had felt a bit outdated. The wait for dinner was completely unacceptable; we waited nearly 2 hours one night. Making a reservation isn't an option. The property looked nice. The pool was great, but I don't know what it would have been like during peak days. The spa was excellent.

Our room was clean and nice however there should be more “inclusive family” items for those paying for upgraded family villas. The food wasn’t great at any of the restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. It’s very difficult to find basketballs/tennis rackets and they are not near the courts. Our butler was great. Overall the trip was okay but we have stayed at other chains, even less expensive chains, and preferred them over this resort. Shop around for excursions as two of the vendors on site tried to sell us an excursion and the online price directly through the excursion website was significantly cheaper. We did the photos through the onsite vendor and they were significantly higher in price than what we have paid at other resorts. We ultimately did not purchase.

My third time here. The staff at the resort is great Reselly at portofino is an awesome server She went above and beyond. Alberto in the buffet restaurant is also awesome saw us waiting and already had coffee and juice in the table waiting for us. Truly missed Jose at the adult pool he has a great personality and always attentive. Plan on going back next year hoping Jose will be back at that pool.

Nice trip and we had a great time. Room, staff and food were all good! I have been to this resort several times and always find it be fantastic.
Alberto - World Cafe, is just a wonderful person. Very nice and always happy.
Resilly -Portofino, best waitress in the resort. Professional, pleasant and made our dining experience perfect (actually ate there 3 times).
We had the Preferred Package and spent our days at the Adult Pool. The Adult Pool was just not the same without Jose! Jose has been at the Adult Pool for the last several years and was moved to another location. A few guests that I recognized from previous years, and new guests that we met, all commented the same - they missed Jose. Please bring Jose back to the Adult Pool!
