The stench due to the seaweed was the only really big negative but there is nothing the property can do about that. The outside of the buildings could look nicer but overall it’s fine. The staff was excellent and the food was very good. It’s located away from Cancun and isolated from other areas. The pool area is very large.

Our experience was disappointing overall. While I understand that resorts offer membership presentations and sales pitches, the approach taken by Octavio and his supervisor (whose name I unfortunately did not get) crossed the line from persistent to intrusive. During our first two days, we experienced repeated contact, including knocks on our room door and calls to both our hotel room phone and personal cell phones as early as 8:00 AM. We have stayed at many resorts and have never encountered this level of pressure.

The beach was another major disappointment. It was not swimmable and was barely even suitable for walking, which significantly impacted our enjoyment of the property.

The food was average, nothing particularly memorable. The standout employees were the bartenders, who were consistently friendly, welcoming, and fun throughout our stay.

As for the room, the layout seemed appealing when booking, especially the option with a door separating the sleeping areas. However, I would not recommend paying extra for this “upgrade”. There is only one air-conditioning vent in the entire space, located near the entrance. Once the divider door is closed, there is virtually no airflow to the separate room, making it uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return. There are many other resorts that provide a more relaxing atmosphere, better amenities, and a more enjoyable guest experience.

Food for us was very limited as vegetarians- but the chefs were very accommodating to heat up our ready to eat food that we had taken

This is our second time to stay at this resort. Honest Food Review: They will pressure you upon arrival to attend a \"time share\" session and will not have your room ready until you agree one way or the other, then magically - your room is ready. During the week the food is good. On the weekends, it begins declining. On Sunday, my eggs tasted and smelled like fish and the oatmeal had a very sour milk flavor. I declined on both after a taste test. We purchased a \"Cowboy Steak\" for what we were told $70. When we got to dinner, the steak came to the table. It was about 1/2\" thick and wagging its tail. We sent the steak back as it was literally just seared on each side and thrown on the plate. When it arrived back it had been completely cremated. We held a memorial service and ate the free grilled shrimp and cold mashed potatoes. Do not fall into this money trap.
Everything else is resort as usual. The beds are not fantastic, but the AC is. The shower is either scalding or ice plunge - there is no in between. Enter at your own risk when sunburned.

From the moment we arrived we was greeted with the best welcome. This is our second time coming back. Now we came back to celebrate our Honeymoon. And everyone knows our names and everything was just perfect. From the beginning to the end. Staff like Janet from the security staff, the receptionist the lady with the short hair always with a big smile. The staff from the restaurant and buffet. Like Marcelina, Juan, Gustavo, Mateo, Jesus, Arlen la cubana 😊 y muchos más que marcaron con su sonrisa y el servicio excelente. Gracias 🙏 por hacernos sentir como familia.

This was the best resort i’ve ever stayed in. Was a perfect balance of calm, relaxing, and fun. There is so many activities throughout the day and they are instructed by an amazing group of staff. The staff was always attentive and ensuring your trip is going as perfect as possible. Everything was SO clean, from the pools to the room. One concern I had for the property before going was the cleanliness of the jacuzzi. It was SPARKLING. Everything at this resort impressed me. Don’t get me started on the food. Go to La Brisas. I’ve stayed in multiple resorts and none compared to the A la carte restaurants on this property. Which are fully included and unlimited. Speaking of fully included and unlimited, room service, and it was actually good. One of the best things I ate while here was the room service chicken quesadilla, which was available no where else. Macrame activity was the best, but make sure you reserve it early that day. So many great things to say about this resort. Want to try other resorts around cancun but I don’t know if I can anymore now that i’ve been here.

The only hiccup was the ocean. There was a lot of seaweed. But there was nothing that the staff could do about it.

I wish I had better things to say about this property but it just didn’t hit the mark. I’ve stayed at countless all inclusives in my life and this one lacked the most for me. Albeit, I was told Iberstaro just took over this property 5 months ago so they may still be working on things.
Pros:
Beautiful property. Spacious but walkable. Pool felt big and not crowded.
Staff were friendly & welcoming
Decent restaurant options (for stays less than 6 days imo)
Room was better than expected with an in room jacuzzi and spacious balcony
Cons:
Greeted by our ‘concierge’ who took 30+mins to try and convince us to come to an “informational breakfast session” and we had to sternly decline for the 100th time to get the point across. Then she never spoke to us again
Room’s ‘mini bar’ was three sodas and two beers. Which was never replenished. We also didnt have the do not disturb sign so we had to call to request one
I had asked for a small anniversary surprise to be sent to the room (it was just a complimentary brownie) but that was never delivered
The pool swim up bar open opened at TEN (10) am. I’ve never heard of this before so that was shocking. Not to mention the bar tender seems to START setting up at that time so we really dont start getting drinks until 11. One day there was no ice and no ETA on the ice delivery either. Thankfully it only took about 30mins but what resort doesn’t have ice? First thing in the morning? There’s a lot more I cant fit here. Ok for $ i guess

The balconies are perfection! They have really comfy couches and chairs and are completely covered and shady. We were on the main floor so our \"balcony\" was right next to a little river, which was between our terrace and a main pool. I spent most of my time reading there. It was gloriously relaxing with no sunscreen worries.
The food was excellent!
If you're okay without a great beach (they do try clearing the sargassum every morning), and you just want a lovely place to relax and eat well, this resort is perfect!

We had such a memorable stay at Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun everything was fantastic and wanted to recognize some of the incredible staff who truly made our trip special.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and made everything smooth and easy. Mike the bellman was also fantastic — friendly and helpful right from the start. Richard’s always greeted us with his smile.

Throughout our stay, the service stood out everywhere we went.
Rolando was attentive, kind, and always made us feel taken care of.
At the pool, Aric at the bar kept the drinks coming and was always so polite

The restaurants were also a highlight —
Marlene at the Mexican restaurant was incredible and Laura at the Brazilian restaurant was great too as both provided amazing service and made our dining experiences even better.

A big thank you to Octavio the concierge and Adolfo in excursions for their help with planning and making everything easy and enjoyable.

We also unfortunately needed medical assistance during our stay, and we cannot say enough about Dr. Cesar Eduardo Arias Bustamante. He was absolutely incredible — professional, caring, and reassuring during a stressful situation. We are so grateful for his help. He is the best!!

Every one of these team members went above and beyond and truly made our vacation. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — we will definitely be back!

Travelers; 2 middle age ladies just looking for a quiet relaxing vacation.

Check in was quick and easy. We had requested a ground floor room when booking, which they provided for us. Our luggage was taken to our room #4115. The room was beautiful and clean. We had a jetted tub infront of the window over looking the pool which i did take advantage of. Our room

THE BAD: Seaweed on the beach and water was awful and smelled so foul! Beach/Ocean time was supposed to be a major part of our trip and the poor condition of the beach/ocean was NOT advertised. Resort convenience store was EXTREMELY expensive for normal items like medicine, etc.

THE GOOD: Food was mostly great with options. Drinks were decent..if you like diet coke with your alcohol it tasted very odd. Lots of pools with space but were too cold in my opinion. Rooms nice and clean. Beds were average/good.

Food: Room service is better than average. Burgers were good and hot. Its only open until 1030 pm. The buffet is really good. The a la carte restaurants were not as good as the buffet. We had Spanish and Caribbean. The apps at the Caribbean were much better than the mains. The apps were tiny at the Spanish. The mains were good. If you come for an experience or an upclass dining experience, you will be disappointed. No hibachi or anything like that.
Beach: abysmal. The staff works all day to clear the sargassum but, it is all in the water. The beach is only a few feet wide and unswimmable.
Rooms: we got a ground level, ocean front, corner suite. The room was spacious with a king bed and huge tub. The outside area was the star of the room. We had a chair and sectional couch on the side of the room. In fromt of the room we had a couch, a table and chairs, then we had a bed to lay on. These had a wonderful ocean view right in front.
Entertainment: They had quite a bit of activity at the pool. Karoake was at the lobby bar on most days. The white party was not what we thought it was going to be. It was someone up singing on stage. The foam party was fun and rambunctious. Yoo bad they only have 2x per week.
Staff: The staff was womderful. They were always there to help and fill your glasses. Be warned that check-in and check-out are very slow. Also, time share people will hound you. Just tell them no.

This resort was amazingg! Located 20 minutes from Cancun in Puertos Morelos but in a very secure area! Gated entry so very safe! The people were amazing and beyond friendly can’t wait to come back! Food was so good and my room was always cleaned! Private beach not the best clear water I recommend going to the hotel zone and being in that water!

We had certain issues after we checked in with our room and extra bed . Shift supervisor “Roberto” was not helpful at all and was very rude which made our first night horrible. We made the reservation for two adults and three children and he asked us to sleep on two queen beds. This guy knows nothing about hospitality or safety measures ! Next day I spoke to Janet who went out of her way to make our stay a better one . She was very understanding and was always checking on us after this nightmare on the first night . I can’t thank her more for rescuing our vacation . Big thanks also to Enrique at Mexican restaurant and Augusto from room service. This hotel need more people like Janet who knows how to make a difference !

The beach is full of seaweed so if you care about the beach this isn’t the property for you but of course that isn’t the hotels fault. The pools were fantastic and we also had a swim up room which was also great. We got drinks served to our swim up room as well. We did get into every restaurant there, sometimes we had to go on a wait list and sometimes we didn’t have to wait at all. We never had any trouble getting a chair at the pool which was awesome. Mini bar in the room could be better as it was only stalked with two beers a day. Sometimes we asked for more and we got it. Sometimes we didn’t. You can order room service to your room which is also fantastic.

Beautiful property! We had a great time. Lots of families and kids at this resort. The beach is very very small, no one was ever on it. There are some chairs and beds available, but you can’t walk the beach and we couldn’t swim due to the seaweed. The food was great, definitely recommend the Caribbean and the Italian. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend for a relaxing family vacation if you like to be poolside!

Resort is nice, food is good, plenty of pop up food stations during the day. 3 Swim up bars and other bars for refreshment. Area for younger kids is very nice. A couple of pool activities for older teens. Beach is close but I would not swim in the water, they do have nice huts to relax on. Walk out swim rooms, are not directly walk out but do have a large area to hang out. We did loose power and water due to weather but it did come back the same night.

The ocean view room with the wraparound balcony had several big windows that provided beautiful ocean views. Unfortunately sitting on the balcony was not possible due to the wind off the ocean. Guests staying in the other rooms had walls on either side of their balconies that provided a wind break and they were able to enjoy their balconies.

As for my provider Expedia, this package was advertised as 50% off. We spent $1250 Cdn / night expecting 5 stars and were disappointed to realize that others here were charged $750 Cdn / night and that it was a 4 star. Great place if you get it for $2000Cdn / person for the week. I feel like a chump

We stayed on property all eight days and were never bored — there was always something going on, and the evening entertainment was consistently enjoyable. The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained, and the standard rooms were spacious with jetted tubs and private balconies that made relaxing easy. Dining was a major highlight. Every restaurant offered great variety and quality, and our entire group was always satisfied. The breakfast buffet in particular had one of the best selections we’ve seen at an all-inclusive. Service across the resort was friendly and attentive, and knowing a little Spanglish definitely enhances the experience.
The pool quickly became our favorite spot. Kids loved the waterslide and kids club, while the adults spent most of our time at the swim-up bar. IRVING, our bartender each day, truly made the trip special with outstanding service and energy. We were also impressed by the number of top-shelf liquor options throughout the resort.
Our only real frustration was the lobby bar, where long drink lines and limited seating wasted a surprising amount of time even during a slower travel period. We were also approached frequently about the Iberostar Club but were disappointed they would not allow us to review the contract in writing before signing. In all honesty, we likely would have joined if the process had been more transparent.
Overall, Iberostar delivered great food, strong amenities, and a perfect vacation. We would absolutely return!

Unfortunately, our experience at this resort was extremely disappointing.

The pool water was so cold that we couldn’t even enjoy swimming, and this was in the Mexican heat. The beach was another major letdown. The water was brown, full of seaweed, and the ground was rocky and unpleasant. It was honestly awful and very upsetting, especially considering we were looking forward to a relaxing beach vacation.

The food situation made things worse. Most of the food we received was cold, and the line at the grill was consistently long. At the Italian restaurant, we waited two full hours just to receive our food. The following day, we had to wait another two hours just to get a table at the Mexican restaurant. That’s an unreasonable amount of time to spend waiting while on vacation.

The entertainment was decent, but not offered everyday. Also seating was very limited. If you didn’t arrive very early, you had to stand to watch the show.

We were told the pool beds were $25 to rent, but no one mentioned the additional $30 in taxes and fees. We ended up paying close to $50, which felt misleading. On top of that, from the moment we stepped onto the property, we were repeatedly pressured by staff to attend a timeshare presentation, even after clearly stating we were not interested.

Overall, this was not the relaxing, enjoyable getaway we expected. For the price paid, the experience did not meet expectations. Very disappointed.

We stayed 10 nights as a couple and had a great overall experience. The resort had recently reopened under Iberostar, and while still working through some growing pains, it shows strong potential. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with good housekeeping, though we did have to switch rooms due to an AC issue. Food was outstanding—the best we’ve had at an all‑inclusive—with great variety, strong gluten‑free effort, and multiple dining options, though labeling and consistency could improve. Staff were friendly and attentive, with special thanks to Marlen, Alex, Irving, and Javier.
Entertainment included nightly shows and solid fitness programming, though the show rotation is short for longer stays. The beach is heavily eroded but well maintained; pool cabanas cost extra and pools are unheated. Excursions booked onsite were reliable and enjoyable, especially the catamaran and Isla Mujeres trip. The spa was relaxing but overpriced for the value. Other notes: road access includes an 800 m rough stretch, club membership sales are persistent, the gym is decent but limited, and some maintenance was ongoing but not disruptive.
Overall, excellent food, welcoming staff, and fun programming make this a strong resort with room to improve as it continues to settle under new ownership.

Room was okay and the food was average. The resorts needs some basic updates, lots of cracks and they were repairing the concrete ceiling outside of our room. The pools were nice, the beach was thin but still very nice.
What made the experience subpar was the staff pushing for the time share presentation. We were harassed when we got there and with many phone calls after. Other couples were approached at breakfast unexpectedly. They claimed it was 90 mins, one couple we chatted with went and it was 2.5 hours. Check in time was way too long. They just look to get you in timeshare type of presentation and make you VIP member.
The beach is terrible and could not be even call the beach, water is brown with see grass all over. Not possible to swim in such ocean.
The only good thing is personal who clean hotel well and food at buffet restaurant. Getting into specialty restaurants is just wasting of time, at Italian restaurant took us 2.5 hours to get the food we did not order, because they didn't have the fish we ordered, just brought us something without telling us prior to it.

While the property itself is beautiful, the overall dining and service experience fell far below expectations, especially for an all-inclusive resort.

At the Italian restaurant, we arrived at approximately 7:30 PM and did not receive our food until around 8:30 PM. When the food finally arrived, it was extremely disappointing in quality and frankly inedible. Because of this delay, we missed the nightly entertainment, which was one of the highlights we were looking forward to during our stay. We didn’t leave the restaurant till 9:30pm. And during the first half of the dinner the fire alarm kept going off.

The Caribbean restaurant was also very misleading. The menu was primarily seafood and did not reflect authentic Caribbean cuisine. My boyfriend is a vegetarian, and one of the options provided was grilled carrots, which were poorly prepared and unacceptable as a main dish at a resort of this caliber. They were boiled briefly and drizzled with yogurt.

Additionally, our group of 11 was split across two table tables they refused to seat us together and food was served 10–15 minutes apart, making it impossible to dine together. To make matters worse, the hostess was rude and dismissive when we asked to clarify the reasoning.

The buffet was the only consistently reliable dining option.Outside of dining, the beach was disgusting due to excessive seaweed, and the beverages were also overly sweet even the natural juices were artificial.

We had a fantastic family vacation at Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancún and would absolutely return.

The resort is on the smaller side, which turned out to be a huge plus; everything felt calm, easy to navigate, and never overwhelming. It’s perfect if you want relaxation instead of chaos.

The rooms were beautifully renovated, clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The standout feature? The large jacuzzi soaking tub was a dream after long days in the sun. It honestly felt like a mini spa in the room.

A huge highlight was the fitness program. The classes were excellent—well-run, energizing, and led by a knowledgeable, motivating trainer who clearly cared about proper form and about making the workouts accessible yet effective. It was refreshing to have fitness options that felt genuinely high quality rather than an afterthought.

For families, the kids' club was outstanding. The staff were kind, engaged, and clearly experienced with children. Activities were well organized, fun, and age-appropriate, which gave us peace of mind—and some much-appreciated downtime knowing the kids were happy and well cared for.

And across the entire resort, the staff were consistently warm and attentive without ever being intrusive. Service felt personal and sincere.

The hotel itself is lovely. The food and service is also very good. However there is no beach. There is no sand. There is no way to walk along the beach in front of the hotel or any of the other hotels in the area. The sand has been washed away. There is no place to run. The road into the property is all holes and dirt. While I understand that this is caused by nature, it should not be advertised and charged for as a beachfront holiday. The description of the beach is misleading and we left the property before our check out. We received an apology and management’s assurance that we will get refund for the used days. So far we have not received anything. They handled it all very professionally and I trust it is coming. I hope they fix their situation. And until then we will not return nor recommend it.

Staff was great, everyone friendly, the food was impeccable - honestly the best from the all inclusive I’ve been to. Facilities also great, my kid loved the children club and child minding.

The only thing that could be better was the second bed in our room - was supposed to be two queen beds, but we got one queen and one sofa bed. The sofa bed the mattress was really uncomfortable, my mom has fibromyalgia and was in pain during our stay. Otherwise everything went really well. We’d come back if in a two queen beds room.

The beach is also not great - is a small beach space and it has sea weed.

Iberostar is very nice, but the only thing is that they charged you a fee and say that is an environmental charge which it doesn't say anything on the booking. I ASKED FOR A RECEIPT BUT THEY GAVE ME A RECEIPT FOR A SEAT I asked where it says about environment they could not proveded me any info. Thats why I gave a 3 star because of that scam fee

No hot water in our room the first day. It was only baby bottle hot. They came several times to check it out and said it’s fine. Hot water tap only open supplying slightly warm water. NO It’s not good.
We insisted they give us another room, they reluctantly did.
They say they have 5 fine dining restaurants, in reality only one is open on any night. Good luck getting a table….first come first served…
All of their maintenance carts, gardener carts, food service carts, food and drink supply carts have hard wheels in them. Hard wheels on cobble stone paths make a huge noise ALL day long. Not very peaceful and relaxing…..
The beach available to walk on is only 200 metres long, very disappointing….
The food in the fine dining restaurants, very small portions and weird, for instance the shrimp entree can with 8 medium shrimp, that’s it, no rice or bean or vegetables….just shrimp?
My steak came with a small steak and a 1/3 of a cup of mashed potatoes, no vegetables….i could go on but I think you get the idea.
