Room was clean but first room had the sliding glass door to go outside did not work. The safe did not work. We got moved and everything was fine except this room the shower leaked all over the bathroom.
Other than that the staff is wonderful, nice and accommodating. The beach is beautiful and just steps away so makes up for the room.
I heard this part of the hotel is going to be ripped down and added to the newer part beside it.

I got the room I wanted, door had obviously been kicked in before and was badly repaired, showerhead only provided a dribble down the wall staff did try to remedy but I gave up and made due, breakfast was available next door but not until 10:30 am and only on random days, the pool was drained on my 3rd day , staff was great, manager looked at me like I was a criminal and sternly told me rules like I was an irresponsible teen, I'm 67, that said it was a nice quiet stay with a beautiful beach, I got what I paid for

It was the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway. It was very clean, and the rooms were perfect. We could walk right to the beach from our room, and the restaurants were great overall. I would highly recommend this place for people looking for a peaceful getaway right on the beach, without the huge crowds in the hotel zone of Cancun.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and would not recommend it.

One of the biggest issues was the lack of hot or even warm water. Every time we tried to shower or use the sink, the water was cold, and to make matters worse, there were moments when brown water came out of the tap. When we brought this up to staff, we were simply told “that’s how it is,” with no effort made to resolve the problem or offer any solution.

We had booked a king bed suite but were given a room with only a double bed, which was not what we paid for or expected. The condition of the room overall was poor. The fridge was broken, with only part of it functioning, making it difficult to store any food or drinks. The closet door was loose and hanging, clearly not maintained, and the sliding door to the deck was extremely difficult to open—it would get stuck halfway and required excessive force to move.

Overall, the property feels neglected and poorly managed. Between the basic amenities not working, the incorrect room, and the lack of response from staff, this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The property is located in a nice location but is good just to sleep and go nothing fancy. The restaurant next door it’s nice and the food is affordable. The waitress was very nice and attentive specially Italia was always so nice.
In general this hotel needs a lot of updates specially the bathrooms.

Great location, amazing staff . The property is ver outdated where our fridge had no shelves on the door and inside , covered in rust on the outside , shower head had about 5 sprays and was green from scale , tv didn’t work but another was replaced from another room which was common , we had no outside table so that was taken from another room for us , bed was clean and freshly made everyday , same for towels , only 2 hairdryers for 20 rooms . Some sunbeds were broke and cushions were damaged on the beach , a charge for umbrellas . No outside loungers for the pool except two big beds . The location was the main key for our-stay as it was close to everything . .

This was a disappointing experience and I would not stay here again. To begin with, I arranged the airport transfer with the hotel, and was told it could be paid with a credit card, but when I was picked up, the driver did not have any capability to take a credit card and required cash.

The room was in significantly worse condition than shown in photos, with all of the furniture chipped and beat up. The safe did not work, the beds only had a single sheet to cover yourself with (no blanket or anything). The shower could at best be described as a lukewarm trickle.

The beach club was comfortable and in a nice location, but service was extremely slow. I did not have the time to check out the pool.

The employees were friendly, and I appreciated that I was able to check in early when I arrived. However, the rooms are in poor condition and uncomfortable. This is a good location but the hotel would need to be significantly updated for me to want to return.

Ocean view with bird droppings, but a heavy rain cleaned the window. Three stories up with no access so they can't do much about it. Very basic, not even a cup in the room to brush teeth no potable water. There is soap and shampoo in luke warm shower. Good restaurant right there its all ok for the price because beach is steps away.

I will like to get my obey back for the first night’s stay as I have pictures of the awful conditions there. The staff was totally unprofessional. However the manager gave me a room on the bottom floor since I have mobility problems and use a walker.
The agent who initially checked me in wanted to charge me an upgrade although I paid the highest price for each room at $150 plus tax each night. The “upgrade”‘had a giant roach, lines across the TV screen, as well as rust on desk chair and refrigerator. I can send pictures for proof of what I just said.
Prices this week there is a fraction of what I paid.
Terrible customer service until I finally met with the manager the following afternoon. I really did not enjoy my stay there because I had to deal with so many problems.
O want to officially make a complain to resolve this terrible problem at this hotel.

It is a very bare bones place. It has the basics. There are two properties, the one closer/attached to the beach club seems better. Try to stay there if you can- it seems like it would be better. The beach club situation is very strange. They sell a lot of day passes to anyone so it is not guaranteed that the hotel guests will get a chair. Get a massage from Jonattan at their spa- this was the highlight of the trip. He is excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ojo de Agua. The front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. Parking was easy. The hotel is situated right on the beach and has lounge chairs for guest use and a restaurant that serves delicious food and drinks. Margaritas on the beach…it doesn’t get much better than this!

The difference between the photos and the actual room were remarkable. The room was really quite disgusting. Rust on towel bars, black mold on floor. The bedding was gross and pillows were throw pillows with pillow cases.
You have to pay to get a beach umbrella and the beach chairs are in terrible conditions.
If I could have cancelled, walked away or found another place, I would have. We were here for one night. If I was here for a week. I would have left.
How this place has a positive rating is beyond me. Don’t believe the pictures. Expedia….can I get my money back?

My stay here was okay overall. The rooms look newer in the pictures than they are in real life and are a bit worn. The shower was very basic, but shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided. Towels were clean, and the beds were fine.

The pool photos are misleading. The pool shown in the listing is not on the property, and the actual pool on-site is very basic. I was also charged an extra 100+ pesos at check-in for beach seaweed removal, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand.

The best part of this place is the location. You’re on the beach within a minute, and beach chairs are free for guests (shade costs extra). You’re given a wristband to wear during your stay. There’s a bar on-site that serves food and drinks to the beach, which is convenient but pricey. There’s also a small convenience store nearby for cheaper drinks and easy access to bathrooms near the bar.

Overall, it’s worth the money for the beachfront location. The beach is quiet and relaxing before noon and gets more crowded later, but it’s still much more laid-back than Cancun beaches. The staff was not a problem and the cleaning folks were out every morning making sure they were cleaning. I would recommend going out of that tourist area on the long road you entered from and go to the local park … there u will find tacos, quesadillas, and other restaurants that are much better and much cheaper. Good luck!

I wouldn't even let a dog stay here. After viewing my room I went down to complain but no one was in the front room. My friends ended up taking me to their place down the beach for my entire stay in Mexico. The place is literally a dump. Blood stains on the matresses, stairs and in the hallway. Garbage, not bagged, just pulled up by the door. There was a window in my shower out to the hallway. I paid an additional 23.00, to supposedly have the beach kept clean, it was not clean much less swimmable or even approachable. I have photos I'd love to submit, but it doesn't allow for this option.
I returned the nexted morning, letting them know I hadn't stayed there and would NOT be staying there.
I also suggested Expedia take this location off their site as a place to stay.

The front desk fellow was very nice and helpful. I liked the hotel but my husband did not like the loud partners on the beach who were singing loudly until 5 am. The unit did not have any toilet paper either! That was quite a surprise. Also, no elevator so not a good situation if one is carrying a heavy suitcase. The restaurant

We had a wonderful time again. Our room was not ready but he gave us another room right beside the pool bottom floor. It was great. Loved sitting on their beautiful beach every day. Room was cleaned every day and AC was nice and cold. The fridge kept our beer nice and cold too. Will be back next season or maybe again sooner. Thank you

There was no hot water in our room for the entire 6 days that we stayed there. Twice guests next door kept us up all night by either partying on the balconey at 3 am or smoking all night. The patio doors didn't seal properly so the neighbour's cigarrette smoke filled our room.

I booked a King Room with a sea view. The bed was not king size. It was maybe a queen in a double frame. That was fine. But the bed frame was only 6” off the floor and the window to see the ocean were barstool height. Higher up than normal windows.
Then the next morning I attempted to take a shower. There was zero hot water. So I washed the needed parts and skipped the rest. The electric outlet in the bathroom did not work either. That was the last straw. I went down to the reception desk. I told the lady my issues and she said yes, they knew they had been working on it. I could get a new room to shower in. OMG! They knew and still put me in that room without telling me in advance. I would have the refused the ocean view that I couldn’t see anyway for hot water to shower and wash my hair. So frustrating!

This wasnt a very nice experience. It does have does rooms they show, but they also have an old not that nice building not facing to the beach, that is below average. water pump was noice almost all day long, and theres many other things they could fix easy to get better acomodations. I booked just to relax 3 days, but it was dificult. Now, it was cheap, but not as cheap for the relation money: quality. The location is amazin, everything is on a walking distance, thou.

We are regulars here and will keep coming back. This is not a five-star resort but is very clean and the staff are mucho friendly. The beautiful beach is 100 feet away and the hotel offers chaise lounge chairs for guests. Umbrellas are available.

The restaurant next-door, seemingly on the same property, is very agreeable with good food and good prices.

There are a ton of other good restaurants in easy walking distance, even for someone like me with a hip and knee replacement!

The water isn’t potable and warm showers are hard to come by but everything else here makes up for these things.

Ana, David, and Fernando (and the rest of the front end crew) make the check in process very easy.

There was black mold in the ac unit as well as under the bathroom sink. I woke up sick the very next day. There was only a sheet on the bed, no blanket. The water was luke warm at best. It was lazily kept.
