The room was hot and we couldn’t get the temperature below 73 degrees.
There was only two restaurants open; since it is the slow season. We were told we didn’t need to make a reservation. Got to the Italian restaurant and was asked if we had a reservation; said no. Was told we could sit; but the service would be slow and to check out the steakhouse. Was asked the same question at the steakhouse but hit sat right away. Service and food was great.

This property is a 3 day max stay. Lack of restaurants is the main problem. If you have stayed at some of the older Karisma brand properties the food at this resort will be highly disappointing. Breakfast was just bad all around from lack of options to miss labeled food.

Clean and well maintained with fantastic staff. For an adult only resort there is no 24hr bar, which is a little odd especially being off the strip with no other option to fall back on. When it’s lights out it really is lights OUT. Food was ok in buffets. Taco window was great.

Super great trip this is our third time staying at Margaritaville. Anthony and Erick in the buffet are awesome! They were so great and they remembered us from the last time we came. The service is always great. The property is very clean and my only two complaints are very minor. There’s no stairmaster in the gym and the sargassum. One I’m sure it doesn’t matter to 90% of vacationers and the other is just the ocean doing its thing. But even with those two very minor complaints I would still give my stay a 10 out of 10! I’ll definitely be back!

The sargassum is VERY very bad, the first night we arrived I (not exaggerating) nearly vomited, it is insanely bad smell, every time we left the room we got hit in the face by the smell, defo avoid if you are sensitive to smells. We did get used to the smell though
We arrived May 30th and the place was about 25/30% full which was great for us as we like peace
We were very disappointed as the buffet was only open for breakfast the time we spent there which is quite misleading as it says there is a buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner

The breakfast was REALLY poor!! I was so disappointed with the options, they also did not have fly fans to keep flies away so anything that’s not hot, fruit, salad, cheeses, bread etc etc were COVERED in flies which is insanely gross!!

12pm-5pm there is 2 restaurants available with decent amount of options for food& the food was 7/10 in both places

There is a coffee store which is not too bad although one lady pre-batches her espresso so it’s not fresh, it was not busy enough for this to happen. In the same store there was drinks, beer&chips you could use your points for which was awesome! We didn’t use all our points
For dinner there are 2 restaurants, the Italian was so good!! The pizzas were to die for!
The steak place was below average, we only went twice as we preferred Italian
Overall the service from the staff was really good, I do not see myself coming back because the smell & secluded area& no beach

Fabulous stay in paradise. The pools were beautiful and I love how spread out they were. You have options. Fantastic swim up bars, very large. My complaints: The floor of the pool near ocean is very very rough on your feet and the seats at the swim up bar are very rough also. Makes it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy at the swim bar. I think the lobby bar bartenders need some work. They were not very friendly. They need to carry a better vibe and energy for the main bar of the resort.
Frank and Lola’s was delicious! Taco joint near pool is amazing. I’m still dreaming about the tacos!

Very chill hotel. Absolutely no beach which they don’t hide in their marketing. Very clean and well maintained. Very cool theming everywhere. Limited entertainment and food options which if we were staying a week would have been an issue. This place is great for a generally quiet few days. Pools are great and plentiful. Food quality is decent but very limited. Only 4 restaurants of which due to the time of the year rotated closing daily, sometimes 2 at a time. Main pool was recently serviced. Be careful as the surface is very rough and will scrape a heel easily. The property was at only 30% capacity and didn’t let us in early or provide reasonable upgrade options of which we determined are perks of only their private membership club for Karisma Resorts. Don’t get fooled by taking the “VIP” tour. Just another timeshare pitch. Overall a good stay. Not 5 Star as they need more food options.

I had a wonderful time until the last day. The property itself was immaculate and the staff went out of their way to help in any way they could. I was having a wonderful time, but unfortunately I did get food poisoning at dinner on the last day. It was an unpleasant 12 hours, but thankfully I was in good enough shape by the time my flight came around. These things do happen and aside from that one incident I did have a great time. The room was amazing, the food was good and the staff were very friendly

We had to change our coffee maker in our room twice because it was not brewing hot but cold. It was easier to order a pot of coffee from room service.

Room was always cleaned and was surprised that they have an afternoon towel service and maintenance as well. Very impressive

Staff was excellent and catered to all my needs.

Pool was ok. Only complain was the finish of the pool was too rough and hurts the back if you lean on it (especially with a sunburn) or your swim suit may get snagged depending on the material.

The Boathouse was closed the last 3 days for supper when we was there and had to make reservation for Italian or the steak house. Not impressed. Landshark should be an option for a light meal for supper.

This was a very nice hotel, but very boring and the staff were just ok. Not much entertainment and no shows every night. Then, when you first arrive prestige travelers club will try their very best to shove down some kind of time share, it’s overwhelming and overloading after you traveled hours to get there. Then the main pool was under construction by the 3rd day we were there which was a bummer because that was pretty much our only form of entertainment. I did like that they came twice daily to clean the rooms and asked if you needed more towels. But that was about it. I won’t be going back ever and I am sorry I don’t even want to ever go back to Margaritaville anywhere now.

Air conditioning did not work and room smelled of mildew. Closed main pool for reno's with no warning ahead and made quiet pool with swim outs the party pool. Could only eat at 1 or 2 resturants as they closed others and some nights only one opened. Others were not open at all for dinner. Many power outages! We had 3 swim out suites and could not use them one day as pool was closed for cleaning....reason pool was made into main party pool and guest was sick in pool. Beware of orientation and presentation.....high pressure sales to join owners club.

We stayed here during the off-season (early May) at around 40% capacity, which helped—but even with that, this is easily the best adults-only all-inclusive I’ve been to.

Everything just felt easy. No pressure to upgrade, no sense you’re missing out. The base experience is strong across the board—food, service, and overall layout all work.

Food is usually where these places fall short, but not here. We ate somewhere different every night and never felt the need to repeat. Quality was consistently good, and we didn’t pay for any upgraded dining.

Quick tip—download the app right away. Reservations open at 9am and take about a minute.

Rooms are very similar, which actually simplifies things. We had a basic fourth-floor room—covered balcony, great view, no need to overthink it.

The resort is clean and well maintained, and service was consistently good without being over the top.

The beach is smaller and has some storm impact, but the pool setup makes up for it. Great loungers, great layout, and still a water view. We spent most of our time there. If you want to walk, you can go north or south along other resorts.

Seaweed wasn’t an issue—there’s a barrier and active cleanup.

Also—plenty of chairs. No early morning scramble.

The vibe is a good balance of energy and relaxation, and it never felt crowded.

Bottom line—I’d come back in a heartbeat and stay longer next time. Fantastic property!!!!

Our stay at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya - An Adults Only was absolutely incredible from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, the greeting staff made us feel like VIPs—truly like something out of a movie. The warm welcome immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a flawless experience.

The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds and a relaxing, upscale atmosphere. The amenities were top-tier, and everything we needed was readily available and easy to access, which made the entire stay feel effortless and enjoyable.

Housekeeping was exceptional—our room was always spotless, refreshed on time, and maintained with great attention to detail. It’s clear they take pride in their work.

The food was consistently good, with plenty of options to choose from, and the service throughout the resort was mostly excellent. Staff members were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay memorable.

Overall, this resort exceeded expectations in nearly every way. If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway with great service and amenities, this is definitely the place to be. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

We just got home from spending a few days in paradise! We loved everything about this resort. I'll break it down like this:
Room- beautiful! Lovely decor, roomy, clean, plenty of stocked water, quiet for sleeping. We had a king paradise swimout and loved everything about that!
Pool area; many sun loungers always available, towels were always stocked, good vibe, fun environment, pool bars very convenient and quality service.
Food; excellent. We both loved everything we ate. We enjoyed every restaurant and all had delicious food. Breakfast, room service was great, as was the buffet. Lunch at License to Chill was wonderful every day. Ate dinner at Landshark, JWB, and Frank & Lola's.

great place but all excursions were very expensive and well as product in their gift shops. Food was good somedays and then not the next. breakfast was the best meal of the day. Steakhouse was better and Landshark was probably the best all around food. Taxi's are ridiculously expensive $80 Canadian for 20min drive uber much cheaper but some places you cannot get an uber back as not allowed in certain areas. Staff were amazing but no beach here

It was the worst stay that I have ever had in Cancun. Presidential suite had multiple things broken, the staff were partying in the room next to mine and taking selfies of themselves at 7 am in the morning like they were the ones that had paid almost 10k for a trip, they didn’t not offer to make it right, they just offered free wine and it’s an all inclusive already. It was dead with the resort, they played the same play list every day and same trivia, people spit and peed in the pool in front of us, as well as had sex in the pool.

Will never go to another Marg.. resort. Food was also horrible and if you even wanted a pizza delivered from room service it was an additional charge.

Truly awful experience and management treated all of the construction, broken items, staff partying and staff waking us up each morning before 8 am, as if it was no big deal.

The resort was very clean and the service was top-notch! The beach was okay, but super easy to explore—head down the stairs and walk left (NE)… just a heads up, you’ll eventually hit a nude/“adult-only” resort 😳—definitely caught us off guard lol.

Night entertainment was good, and the resort felt nice and relaxed at about 50% capacity. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking to unwind and take it easy.

Getting around is simple—Puerto Morelos is about a 15-minute Uber ride (~$12 CAD), and Cancún is around $54 CAD. We also spent a day at Dreams Ocean Beach Club—weekday cost was 700 pesos, with 500 pesos back in food credit, which was a great deal!

This is a very low key resort. It’s great if all you want to do is lay by the pool. There is no beach and activities were nonexistent. We were actually bored after two days. We didn’t expect nonstop activities but a few would have been nice.The rooms are very nice but two of our rooms were overlooking another resort’s electrical/plumbing area. I could understand if the resort was busy but it was not. I upgraded to a swim out suite and it was fantastic.
The staff is first class.
Unfortunately, three in our group got TERRIBLE food poisoning/travelers diarrhea the last day requiring a visit from the hotel doctor and a pricey bill. It turned out that 12 other guest were ill at the same time. It made for a very rough travel day. I do believe that the resort did take the issue seriously and checked on our well being.

Great stay. Great pool. Domingo and Erik were the 2 highlights of our trip. Domingo serves up amazing drinks at the SOS bar and Erik everyday in the boathouse gave beyond exceptional service.

We ate everywhere on resort. Best spot was at license to chill. The 2 that require reservations were mediocre at best. The Italian place was good but the sauce was sweet when should be savoury. The steak house hostess was horrible and started our meal off on the wrong foot. The food was ok. The steak was a joke. Looked like a piece of liver. You get this feel of staged. But I also didn’t go to Mexico to eat American food.

Rooms were always cleaned and stocked with water.

The spa was wonderful but extremely overpriced. We wanted a relaxing vacation so we spent some money. No regrets we were extremely relaxed.

Wifi was great at the resort. The app is kind of terrible. Doesn’t work a lot and hard to confirm reservations. Also noticed when we went to the steakhouse we checked the hostess tablet. Looked like they had a lot of empty tables but were turning down people. Everyone at the pool complained about how difficult it was to get in.

Overall I would likely go back. We want to explore other parts of Mexico but this place is on the go back to.

Ok we were there for 5 days. Cassandra did a great job cleaning the room everyday. Oscar and Christian were always there to assist with anything we needed. We had the Bali bed #10 for a few days and Maria did an amazing job catering to us!!

Quantity, I would say if your Hungry, definitely order 2 of everything.
Pizza is actually really good. Highly recommend.

Quality of food 10 out of 10. Now I must admit, the both nights we ate there, I ordered off of the \"extra menu\". First night we had the dry aged ribeye and a Tommy (what I call tomahawks). They were delicious, high quality cut. The second night I had the filet mignon and again phenomenal.

Tequila quality 2/10(house tequila). We bought 2 really nice bottles at the steak house which we carried with us during the pool days which Maria made our mix drinks with.

Great resort with very attentive staff that go out of their way to make your vacation enjoyable. Rooms and resort were very clean (minus a few smelly elevators). Fitness centre was well equipped and a great size. Food was excellent at the al a carte restaurants. Would have been nice to have one or two more dining options and a better reservation system (was difficult to book for larger groups on the app). Some of our party did get ill on the last night of our stay and it seemed many others there did also. Overall a highly recommended resort at a very reasonable price.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed the overall experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the amenities made our stay even more relaxing. The food was also excellent, with a great variety of options to choose from.

The location is beautiful, and the beach itself has so much potential. However, the seaweed was quite heavy during our stay, which made it less enjoyable to swim or spend time by the water. It’s understandable that this is a natural issue and not something the hotel can fully control, but it did impact the beach experience.

Overall, we still had a lovely time and would recommend this hotel for its great service, comfort, and atmosphere—just keep in mind that seaweed conditions may vary depending on the season.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Margaritaville Riviera Maya, and I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that immediately set the tone for an exceptional stay.
The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the plush bedding to the perfectly placed lighting. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, making it easy to unwind after a long day.
The amenities were equally impressive. Whether enjoying a peaceful morning coffee with an ocean view, taking advantage of the St. Somewhere spa, or simply relaxing in the inviting common spaces, everything felt modern, clean, and intentionally maintained. The staff deserves special recognition: they were attentive without being intrusive, quick to offer help, and always went the extra mile to make sure guests felt cared for.
Breakfast offered a wonderful selection of fresh, high quality options, and the dining area was bright, organized, and welcoming. It was a perfect way to start each day.
Overall, this hotel delivers an exceptional blend of comfort, service, and style and look forward to going again. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and stress free experience.

I had an incredible trip to Margaritaville Riviera Maya (adults only)! The resort was very clean, the staff were absolutely amazing, the food was delicious and the chill vibe was exactly what we wanted for this trip. It’s a smaller resort so you can easily find everything and not spend the week getting to know the resort. There is NO beach for the most part. Sometimes when the tide is low, there’s enough room to walk a short ways away but this resort is mainly pools. The main pool was so much fun with the swim up bar and activities. The other pool (also with a swim up bar) is more quiet for days you’d prefer to be away from the action. We loved it! The drinks were great as well and the Landshark bar/brewery was a very nice addition. The only negative thing I’d have to say is although there is something going on every night, it’s not very exciting entertainment. It goes with the chill vibe though!

We stayed at the Margaritaville Adults-Only Resort in Puerto Morelos as a family of four and had a great experience. The resort is small (355 rooms), making everything convenient. The rooms are well decorated, very comfortable, and feature excellent water pressure with consistent hot water.

The food was very good, we tried all the restaurants and enjoyed them. The buffet is on the smaller side but sufficient, and the staff go out of their way to help. It’s closed at lunch, but a BBQ is set up instead. All restaurants' staff ask about allergies before seating you and serving you, which we appreciated.

The main pool is lively, with two quieter side pools. The right-side pool has the swim-up SOS bar, while the left “Prestige” pool offers bar service. If chairs are still available after 11 a.m., they’re generally open to anyone.

Evenings at the LandShark Bar (open until 1 a.m.) were fun, with live bands or a DJ, plus their own on-site brewery.

Dinner reservations must be made through the app (opens at 11 a.m.). Skip the “gift” note, it’s a timeshare pitch. Room service is excellent, order the chicken tenders (get two!).

All staff were very friendly.

One last note: do not choose this resort if you want a beach, there is essentially none.

The property is a short ride from the airport. Try to book more cost effective transportation than what the hotel connects you with. The property is new, modern, fresh, and a little generic. Pools are nice with options for your desired noise and crowd level. There isn’t a beach which was fine because the pools are very relaxing. The food is consistent but not spectacular, think Chilies and Olive Garden level food. The room was definitely better than just hotel room. Definitely get a room with the tub and rain shower. I don’t see the value in the swim up ground level rooms but the rooms with a private plunge pool and ocean view looked amazing. Beware of the timeshare heavy handed pitch. Swat the “concierge” who is really a sales person away when you arrive. The inside bar before and after diner is a must do. If your goal is a week of rest, no decisions, and not signing a check after every meal or drink then this is a great option. I would come back.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Johan went out beyond to make sure our group of 7 had what we needed, helped our group with dinner reservations as the app was hard to navigate and book dinner for a group. Nice pools, we only hung out in the big pool that had activity’s and music. But the chill out pool and swim up bar would be a nice place for someone who likes it a little quieter.

This is a great place to come and relax, being an adults only resort it has a much different feel then family resort. Very chill for the most part but they kick it up during the afternoon with music, dancing and pool activities to get the atmosphere ramped up. It's hard to give more than a 4 rating on this resort just due to a few little things that need some thought. The Joe Merchant (points store) has a very limited variety of snacks and beverages so that needs to be looked at, also giving out 3-4 towels per person is a bit much, we didn't have issues finding a lounger to sit at and almost anywhere you want to sit is a great relaxing point. Food was an 8/10 with the buffet needing a little more variety also. The Staff are top notch and very accommodating and polite. We would visit again in the future quite possibly.

The hotel itself was very nice, but the biggest problem during our stay was the staff and the constant marketing. At almost every corner we were approached by someone trying to sell us upgrades or “exclusive promotions,” many of which we had already heard earlier in the day. It quickly became overwhelming and made it hard to relax and actually enjoy the vacation.

We were also pressured into attending a breakfast in order to receive a Prestige upgrade. During that meeting, our “concierge” repeatedly pushed us and even mentioned he needed us to complete the breakfast because his boss had moved him into marketing. The whole interaction felt uncomfortable and more like a sales pitch than hospitality.

Another issue that bothered me was how some staff treated guests who spoke Spanish. Instead of feeling welcomed, I often felt spoken to in a rude or dismissive way. At the same time, when they tried to communicate with my boyfriend in English, he often had to ask multiple times to understand what they were trying to say.

Right before we left, we were approached again and encouraged to buy another $1,400 trip to use within 18 months. The associate directed the entire pitch to my boyfriend. When I said no, she responded, “What, are you the boss?” which felt unprofessional and disrespectful.

I hope management addresses the aggressive marketing and staff training, because it takes away from what could otherwise be a relaxing stay
