Large beachfront, many pools and great lazy river, many bars and dining options, excellent service from entire staff, premium bars, Excellence Club benefits, suite had great shower, jacuzzi tub inside the suite and another jacuzzi tub outside on the balcony which we greatly enjoyed, nice extras like champagne waiting in room, excellent service on the room like daily cleaning and turn-down services, entertainment options were higher caliber than other resort chains offer, great concierge attentiveness.

Rooms were super spacious and comfortable, with all necessary amenities, and the staff go beyond the expectations to ensure you have a good stay. Overall very Nice property. Got the room with upstairs pool. Not sure that was worth extra money. Didn’t use it that much. No idea why you’d pay extra for excellence club. Just got you Access to another pool and restaurant for another 1k? Food was good & staff very nice. Pools and hot tubs could have been warmer. Not their fault, but the brown seaweed ruined going into the ocean for me. Pools nice. Nice cushy loungers. Went on little speed boat snorkeling activity through onsite vendor. Was fun! Cancun hotel done didn’t have seaweed issue I don’t think.

First time at adults only, there is a mix of vibes available depending on what area of the resort you're in. Mellow and relaxed surrounding the outdoor spa. And more active in the main pool/ bar area. Food was amazing everywhere and the staff and service were very quick.

Beautiful resort with genuinely warm, attentive staff — but a few things prevented it from living up to its potential.
The room was a real disappointment. For the price point, I expected better: it felt unclean, and the shower and toilet area were particularly off-putting. Check-in was also mishandled — no orientation was offered, and we only discovered the Excellence App by chance. A small but important note for scent-sensitive guests: the lobby diffusers are extremely powerful and may trigger headaches or migraines.
On a high note, the resort handled my vegan dining experience thoughtfully. Every restaurant proactively identified the vegan in our group before seating us — a small gesture that made a genuine difference. That said, the vegan menu options and food labeling still have room to grow, particularly at Fiesta Night and The Kitchen breakfast buffet.
Would I return? Not until the rooms are renovated. But the staff and overall atmosphere are genuinely special — and worth coming back for when the property catches up.

This was my second year in a row to visit. I love the place but sweating while in my room is a real drag. It was only in the mid 70s outside but the humidity and temperature in the room was uncomfortable. I reported it, and they checked it out, stating “it was working as it should”

Our stay was excellent, the food was delicious, the staff is super nice and friendly! The cook in the taco stand (yellow van), went the extra miles by preparing my Mexico Doritos that I bought, super awesome service, our beach waiter (Marco) also did an excellent job, the last day he surprised us with a special drink made out of a grapefruit into a racoon, the drink inside was a Paloma so delicious!

The property and the grounds were immaculate, our room was clean and spacious, and the dining and bar options were fantastic. The tennis court and two pickleball courts at the resort were in excellent condition, and Alex the tennis pro from Argentina was fabulous! The resort features on-site scuba diving instruction in the pool and dive trips that pick up directly from the property, and Arturo our dive master, our boat driver, and Gaby our underwater photographer were all great. Mario, our pool attendant, was terrific, and that really goes for the entire staff — so many friendly faces we came to know over our eight-day stay (we liked the resort so much that we extended our stay for an additional four nights). Our only disappointment was with all of the seawood along the beach. The resort, to its credit, had truly professional grade equipment that they used every day to address it, but it was a constant challenge (one we’re sure is faced by all of the other resorts in the area). Despite that, we absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this resort!

The room was clean, loved the turn down service every night. The staff was phenomenal, always friendly! The pools were perfect, temperature was perfect. Loved the lazy river, loved the pool activities. Food and drinks were delicious! Would like to have had real ice cream on the property, my husband loves ice cream! The shows, game quizzes every night were top notch.
We thought the floor in the lobby and down the stairs to the martini bar was kind of slick. Also some of the tiles and walkways around some of the pools were slippery. We saw someone fall by the lazy river. The beach was nice but it was unfortunate to have the sargasm on the beach, so we couldn't enjoy the water.

Everything was great. However, I was disappointed in the Grill, and Lobster House. The Grill got my order, daughter’s order and son’s order wrong. I’m not sure if it was a language barrier, but it came out wrong. Lobster House had no lobster. Otherwise, it was nice. Can’t swim due to seaweed.

This was the original Excellence, so it is a bit dated. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am allergic to gluten, so there were limited options, especially desserts.
The chef in the Excellence Club was outstanding and made GF French toast for me every morning. The spa was gorgeous.

Beautiful resort and wonderful staff. Italian restaurant closed most evenings. Comforter waaay too heavy for a bed but mattress was great and room was spotless. Beach needed cleanup and something had died near our back door. Probably an iguana since there were so many around the grounds. Overall, very nice.

This resort is beautiful, well appointed. Our room was spacious, clean and full of amenities. All of the food (except poolside) was exceptional quality. My disappointments is that they do not heat their hot tubs, any of them & they allow guests to save pool loungers & pool floats, so unless you get up & rush out of your room to get these, you are out of luck for the day.

The resort was beautiful and the grounds were meticulous. A pristine sandy beach. Once you are recognized as a previous customer who tips you get better attention. We were disappointed by the evening entertainment except for the beautiful evening spent listening to Claudia Trevino. We were rushed at the Spice Interactive restaurant but the chef was amazing.

Hotel was amazing loved almost everything about this resort. I think the only real weakness of this one is the lack of a buffet option for lunch and dinner, which means there's no safety net for a la carte restaurants which as with pretty much all all-inclusives are hit and miss. Avoid the lobster and Italian a la cartes for lunch/dinner at this one.

Everything was wonderful about the food and resort and beach. We stayed in a swim-up suite in spa block 5, and our patio was shady most of the day. I'd recommend requesting block 1 or 2 next time which got a lot more sun. Since it was Feb and the evening weather wasn't warm, our room was very chilly at night.

This was really a nice property, but there were just a few things that are keeping it from being excellent. It’s starting to get a little rundown and as you can see from my photos the rooms had some maintenance and sloppy repair issues. The service at the restaurants and bars was excellent. The people were friendly and the food was very good. The pools were very cold and even the heated one could’ve been a little bit warmer. The hot tubs were warm tubs. They weren’t very hot. The resort was extremely clean so no issues there. It is just starting to show its age ( no usb ports in rooms for example). If you want great service, stay here. If you want a more modern experience, I’d suggest you stay elsewhere.

Food and variety was excellent, better than most other similar resorts I’ve experienced, and definitely the highlight of the trip for me. We particularly liked the seafood, Indian, and French. The room was larger than expected and we enjoyed the tub and large shower. The pool was quite cold this time of year, and though one area was heated, it did not ever seem to reach a comfortable temperature, so we did not spend much time in the water unfortunately. We sought out the hot tub areas but those were not too much warmer. The drinks by the pool were quite watered down which got old by the second day. Otherwise the drinks at other locations were much better so we usually sought these out in the afternoons and evenings, particularly the martini bar before dinner. I appreciated the custom drink menu at each bar, and enjoyed trying out different drinks at each. We were quite disappointed with the quality of the drinks at the coffee shop in particular, as we are big coffee drinkers, though we did still keep going back and trying new options each day and appreciated the coffee shop staff. The resort staff were a pleasure universally and I thought they struck a good balance between professional and friendly—they seemed well engaged and attentive to guest needs but I didn’t experience any forced / inauthentic social exchanges that are sometimes the norm at other resorts.

I don’t usually stay at resorts when I travel, but we decided to do a low-key week and we had an amazing time at excellence Riviera Cancun. Everybody that worked there was really nice to us. The food was amazing, the facilities and the grounds were clean and beautiful! I just I only have good things to say about this place. If you want a nice trip you want to relax and have a great time this is you place! As an added bonus, it’s child free which means no kids running around quiet nice grounds. It’s just a perfect holiday experience.

We had several issues in the room but we’re handled very promptly. The only disappointing fact was we were in a terrace suite with a beautiful small rooftop pool . A very nice sweet very spacious but we were woken up at 6:30 every day (7 day stay) in the morning with tractors cleaning the beach from the seaweed. Paying top dollars to be woken up at 6:30am is a little rough to accept. Especially if you’re on vacation. Unfortunately,there was nothing the Hotel could do for us. Avoid building 9 , it’s located right next to a road between two properties. Not exactly how you expected to spend your vacation. I still hear the beeping sound. Housekeeping was amazing.👍

However, I do think they could sanitize the rooms a little better. The phone had a weird smell, hot tub in the room seemed like it needed a better cleaning and the mattress had stains under the sheets.
