Great view, although the butler for the oceanfront preferred room was non existent and gave us the wrong restaurant info on the final day which was souring. I was also injured on Slide #1, avoid it, it’s a broken foot waiting to happen.

Nice property, good food, great service, rooms are spacious, in good condition, walkable property - not too large. Disappointing that there was real beach on property, the ocean was unswimmable at the resort which was not conveyed in the resort information. Resort was very family friendly with nightly entertainment mostly geared towards entertaining the children, that was great fun!

Unfortunately we will not be going back to Dreams Puerto Morelos, we were really excited and had high expectations based on other reviews. Upon arrival the front desk ladies were not welcoming at all, they were rude from check in to check out, if you arrive earlier than 3 expect to be sent away until after 3 to be given your room and there is no bathroom that accommodates you to be able to change meanwhile you wait. Food at the buffet is mediocre, liquor is cheap tasting. The resort is pretty small so if you travel with younger kids a stroller is not necessary and good luck bringing it up and down the stairs as the elevators in the building are not working. The one good thing about this resort is the entertainment throughout the day targeted for families, this is more of a family oriented resort so everything closes at 11pm which is why I think you get room service.
We really wanted to love this place but many workers and incidents in their restaurants made us not want to go back.

Our stay was truly fantastic. The property offers multiple beautiful pools, consistently delicious food, and a team that delivers hospitality with genuine warmth. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and that level of service makes all the difference.

It’s especially great for families with young children — the layout and amenities make it easy to relax while the kids have a blast.

The only drawback was beach erosion limiting direct beach access, so we had to drive elsewhere to enjoy the shoreline. Not a dealbreaker, but something future guests should know.

A personal highlight? The Aqua Therapy experience at the spa — absolutely worth it. A restorative, standout experience that elevated the entire trip.

Overall, a memorable stay we’d gladly repeat.

The beach was nonexistent. When I did go in the ocean, I found a broken piece of glass and luckily didn’t step on it. Because of the lack of beach, the available chairs by the pools caused an insane situation of waking up at 6 AM just to get a chair by the pools.

Only two of the restaurants were good out of six. This is none of the restaurants fill up. The hotel purposely leaves restaurant tables empty, causing longer waits, which is not a game you play at 6:00-8:00pm when people are hungry from a long day.

In the room, the phone never worked. Nobody fixed it for six straight days, even though we told them every day. The bellhop was supposed to take our bags to our cab and the cab wasn’t there - hotel was slow on letting him in - and the bellhop came for the bags after our scheduled time to leave. Overall, the hotel is very bad at keeping appointments and schedules.

The room was clean, and I had the best view I've ever had, with the pool and ocean right outside our balcony. The staff were really nice, especially Christian, the lifeguard at the waterslides. He was very kind and polite to my kids and I. The food was great at the a la cart restaurants, but the buffet food was just ok. The eggs were always runny, there was no butter for our waffles and pancakes, and there wasn't much variety. Every morning was the same food. The food at the Barefoot Grill was delicious though. Loved the coffee at the Coco Cafe and my kids really enjoyed the ice cream there every day too. One complaint I have is that my family and I only got a lounger chair by the pool once the entire 5 days we were there. People put their towels and belongings on the chairs at like 4 or 5am and then go back to bed, and don't go back to their lounger until like 8 or 9am. We were out by the main pool one day at 7am and every single lounger had already been \"reserved.\" There needs to be some enforcement and stronger rules regarding this. Every day we sat on the cement beside the pool because there were no loungers available. You should have it where you have to hand in your towel by 8pm when the pool closes, and any towels or belongings on chairs from 8pm-8am will be removed. This will give everyone a fair chance of getting a place to sit. Absolutely ridiculous there are no rules around this. I saw and spoke to many other people regarding this and they were also angry and upset

Everything was extremely cheep the food the entertainment the cheapest alcohol you can get
You couldn't make reservations at the restaurants and when you get there they tell you is over an hour wait
The second biggest pool was closed and was out of service
I needed to go to the pool every morning before 6 am or there would be no seats (sunrise is around 6:50 so everyone came at dark )
The soap and shampoo dispensers never filled
Twice room service cleaned the room but didn't put any towels
At the pool they start to threaten us if we leave the seats more then 30 minutes they will take all our belongings and give the seats to others
He did even care when i asked to record him
We couldn't stay in the pool more then 30 minutes we didn't want to loose our belongings or seats

Room fridge was only refilled one day. Staff was rode at checkout. The pos machines were not connecting so they said no pay your not getting off resort. VIP called is to see them. Wasted time. They told us we were preferred members and offered us things than when we went to use them they said they made a mistake and took it back. Not a pleasant experience

We stayed 6 nights Rooms were very clean, staff was nice. Spa treatment was amazing. My only complaint was there was an escape rooms for families to enjoy, not part of the resort. The price was $45 a person, which was fine by us. Our 2 girls wanted to play. They said it would be $90 so we paid with card but was charged $99, the next day we asked why. They explained they charge at 19 pesos. We told them everyone charge at 17 or 16 pesos. They said they don't that is why she said 1,710. Pesos. So if you want to enjoy the escape rooms, pay in dollars cash. Not in pesos, not by card. They will change you $9 extra.

Perfect room , very clean ,amazing food.
Only problem is that we got some vouchers to use for wine and it was 40$ .. when we bought the wine one night they told us we can apply the 40$ at ones toward the wine price when we check out, but when we checked out they told us we can only apply 10$ and we had to pay 40 usd $.
I was not happy about that at all and marco was not very nice with us about it.

After reading reviews, I didn’t have very high expectations. However, once we arrived, the experience exceeded what I anticipated. I want to start by saying that Nancy at the front desk is an absolute rockstar. Our flight was canceled due to Winter Storm Fern, and she went above and beyond to help us. After long hold times with JetBlue, Expedia representatives Rahul and Ahmed were able to extend our stay by two additional nights. Nancy then took over and handled everything flawlessly. She kept us in the same room so we didn’t have to move, worked quickly to prevent any interruptions, and managed multiple issues from staff and guests at the same time. Despite all the chaos, her smile never faded. Her customer service was truly exceptional.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was well maintained.

The only downside was the lack of lounge chairs. There simply were not enough for the number of guests, and we had to wake up at 5:00 AM each morning just to secure a spot by the pool.

As for the food, it was average. The buffet food was often cold and lacked flavor. The sit-down restaurants were mediocre with long wait times for food that was just okay. The best dining options were the French and Mexican restaurants.

Room and food was great! The restraunts were good. Ate at an alacarte almost every night. Night entertainment was okay. Things we didnt like...music was very loud at main pool and if they had to move the entertainment inside it was Very loud. My kids couldn't even stand it. There are multiple pools which is lovely where its more relaxing but some are for perfered guests only. No pool/games room ( only 13-17 year olds) which was disappointing for my 8 and 10 year old and even us as adults. No sports area for watching games unless a prefered customer. Beach is almost gone and had crazy sea grass the whole time we were there (just the way things are). Main pool is heated, others are not. Resort is clean, staff were great!

The room was clean but a bit outdated. The pullout sofa bed was a very hard, old and stained mattress. And the room wasn’t very big.
The activities were amazing and very kid friendly! Wish they mentioned it is not beach front. There is a small access point to the beach but it’s rocky and not pretty at all.
The restaurants were decent. Food wasn’t bad at all. The water slides and pools were our favorite part. Kids loved the waterslides!
Night shows were great as well!
Overall, it’s a good resort.

Cons - Beach is not swimmable and does not look nice. Major negative aspect which is the reason why I would not go back to this hotel. The pool area is full of “bed” that tou have to pay extra. When the buffet is outside for a night show, the front tables are only for people who is wiling to pay extra money for wine bottles. A lot of extra money for an all inclusive hotel.

Pros - People are friendly and the coffee place was nice. Japanese restaurant was also good.

The staff needs better training. They neglected us for 45 minutes during the check in process paying attention to other guests who arrived after us displaying discriminatory practices since they thought we were Mexican and favored “American” costumers. They could not manage the situation. When we brought this up they tried to fix it and the manager gave us some amenities for free. We still experienced the same treatment by people at restaurants and bars continuously, being disregarded, having longer waiting periods than other guests arriving after us and some being dismissive.
During the check in we were charged an incorrect amount and were asked to approach the reception desk to correct it and pay the difference. They wanted to charge us more because the exchange rate was different that day and unfavorable to us. I expressed my disagreement since the error was theirs and the amount should have been the one determined at the moment of the check in.
The food was excellent. Compliments to the chefs we enjoyed all restaurants and buffets.
Rooms were clean and serviced several times a day.
Unfortunately, due to the issues with some staff I was sometimes defensive and it was difficult to fully relax.

The food overall was not good. The Italian restaurant and the buffet were the only decent options. The parrilla restaurant wasn’t good, and the mariscos place was horrible.

It was very difficult to find towels. Some of the staff were rude, you would ask for something and they would just say, “We don’t have more.” You basically had to keep asking until someone nicer finally helped you.
However, the staff by the pool were very nice and helpful, which made that area more enjoyable.

There is no real beach. You can see it, but you cannot access it.

The alcoholic drinks were terrible. The quality of the liquor was bad; the piña colada tasted like sunscreen, and the strawberry drinks tasted like car perfume.

The hot dogs were strange, and they did not have chicken nuggets for kids.

The kids club was also disappointing. They open at 11 and close at 3, and it’s so boring that kids prefer not to stay.

The night shows were very good, and the beds were okay.
The internet was terrible.

Expedia originally listed this hotel as the Hyatt Ziva. The pictures, rooms, and description were completely different. I was sure I booked the one in Cancun. Three days later, when I checked my reservation again, the name and pictures had changed, and we ended up at Dreams, which is part of Hyatt but clearly a cheaper hotel. I don’t think I will use Expedia again, this is the second time something similar has happened to me.

They have a great mixture of shows and activities for couples traveling alone or with little ones like myself. All of the elevators in our building were out of service the week we stayed there and I was traveling with a one year old, 5 year old and 7 year old. The air conditioning could not be turned down (despite multiple maintenance visits) and we had to turn it off so we didn’t freeze at night. The last night we were there, the front office called our room at 9pm and 12am, saying there was a nonexistent maintenance issue in our room. They also had cleaning staff come at 9:30pm when we were all asleep and they told us we should have put our do not disturb sign on the door…it was all so ridiculous and we were happy to be leaving.

The hotel was beautiful, it had all the accommodations that anyone would need. Our room was always clean and very comfortable. The restaurants inside the hotel were amazing, food was delicious and pools were very clean and well maintained. Staff was very nice and welcoming. My husband and I left the hotel to explore the area and came back kind of late and every restaurant was closed, we order food through room service and they were nice and quick to bring us food to our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel. 5 star hotel, in my opinion. The only thing that did not meet my expectations was the road to get to the hotel. There were so many potholes throughout the road, I don’t understand how they don’t fix that. The road was REAL BAD!! They really need to fix that. Small cars had such a hard time going through.

We went in June. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach so we didn’t get in the water. The food was my least favorite. I was hoping to get authentic Mexican food considering being in Mexico but everything tasted American washed, sin sazon! I would definitely consider going somewhere else. This place is great for quietness, families, and elders if you’re not too picky with food and just want some quiet time. The staff was prompt and nice. I will say the room service food was better than their restaurants

It was a great resort even tho it’s a family resort, I went for my birthday trip with adults I can honestly say we had a great time, so much that we partied with the kids. The resort has a lot to do at night time,& things in the daytime as well but the night time at the resort was lit ! Everyone partied together played games & had a lot of TEQUILA! The food there is great as well even down to room service we had a butler as well Alexander & he made sure we had everything we needed. During my stay I damaged my eye prior to arriving there, I was able to do a zoom with a Doc in Mexico & at a low cost I found that to be amazing he was able to prescribe me eye drops. I was able to call the help desk and this woman Kenia Ramirez was able to fill my prescription with a local pharmacy & get it delivered! She was a sweetheart she went above & beyond her job ! She checked on my everyday my entire stay.. I appreciated her hospitality and she didn’t have to do that. That woman is God sent she even made sure I was safely back home in the states ! That’s my girl this hotel has great staff and they make sure you have a great stay, down to the bartenders ! They deserve good tips ! I left with so many memories and meeting new people ! I partied with one eye and had a time Lol

We had an incredible stay at Hyatt Ziva! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. A special thank you to our butler Sandy, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary unforgettable — every detail was perfect, and her care truly elevated our entire experience.

Erika, my masseuse, was absolutely amazing — one of the best massages I’ve ever had. She created such a calming, restorative space.

My husband, 15 month old, and I had a great stay at the Hyatt Ziva! We loved that it was all inclusive, and we didn’t need to leave the hotel for anything if we did not want to. The staff was all super friendly. The drinks and food were all good and pretty comparable to other all inclusives I’ve been too. I will say that each night they only had two of the restaurants open, but we did stay for night so it rotated, which was nice so fortunately, we did get to try them all out! The only negative thing I have to say is that the beach is very small, and I couldn’t tell this from pics. This didn’t matter that much since we were going during seaweed season anyways, so we were not planning to go to the beach there anyways. We did take a day trip to Isla Mujeres the beach there was gorgeous!!! A must do!

The staff at Hyatt Ziva are wonderful—friendly, attentive. The food options were ok, though not overly impressive. The best dinner was at the hibachi restaurant and best food overall was at The corner pool restaurant. While the resort is beautiful and relaxing, there aren’t many kid-friendly activities, which makes it less ideal for families looking for entertainment options for children. There is a kids club but it was not open when we tried to go.
VIP areas were unimpressive. I didn’t know we had a butler until day 2, but due to lack of activities they couldn’t be very helpful:

The worst resort I have been at. Total false advertisement. They only open 2 restaurants a night. Horrible small buffet, no beach at all. Dirt road filled with potholes leading to hotel, a very bumpy ride. Management is horrible but staff are very good. Snack stand ran out of food 2 days in a row. No skins at bar one night bartender was folding toilet paper to place under glass. Would never return or recommend this place to anyone. We are frequent visitors to Riviera Maya and figured we would try another place. WORST DECISION WEMADE!! Managers do NOTHING!

The staff and service was very good.
The dining timings were time bound so it should be 24/7 rather than opening and closint at the apecific timings. Also the road coning and back from the hotel is not smooth and bumpy.

There is no beach in this property, they advertise as having one but it is not true. They need to update their description on the site and pictures as well as it is very misleading. Not much to do since there is no other resorts around the area. They have handful of pools, a-la- carry restaurants were closed as they were on their slow season. We were there the first week of September. How much money it cost to stay at this “resort” might as well go somewhere else, where you will have more amenities (such beach, restaurants) don’t waste your money and time in here.

I give this place all around 5 stars! When we first arrived, they greeted us with drinks. Took our bags while we checked in. Check-in was sooo smooth, they offered more drinks and snacks for my kids. I am terrible with names, not because they aren’t memorable it’s just a personal thing. But I want to say Frida help check me and my kids in. We got a personal assistant for the whole time we stayed there, her name is Cindy. And she was awesome. She kept in touch daily giving me all the info on whats happening on the resort grounds. Which was a plus, so any activities for me or my kids to do, she already gave us a time and place which was super helpful. Cindy also made reservations for us. She was overall beyond amazing. The food was great at every location, I must say even the buffet food, was good.

The staff was great, all around the pool, at the bars, in the restaurants everyone was amazing. The shows they put on, are great, and a must see. Def worth catching them if you can. This place is also very family and kids friendly I love that.

The down side to this whole experience is the beach, so this side of the beach is clearly not for swimming. Not much of a view either. But if you’re okay with not being by the beach than this place is totally for you. Also the road driving up to the Hyatt is rough, def needs to fix. Since I had such an amazing experience I can put that all to the side and say this place is worth every penny. I would definitely go back!

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. I loved that no reservations were required for any of the restaurants. The food at the specialty restaurants was very good. The drinks were also great — be sure to ask for a Flor de Jamaica margarita at the main bar, you’ll love it!

A special shout-out to Freydy, the bartender at Infusion,Avid at the pool bar for his excellent service, and to our butler Didier — They were outstanding. Overall, the staff was very friendly and attentive.

I would rate the buffet a 6/10. During my 7-night stay, the breakfast options were the same every day. It would be nice to see more variety.

property was beautiful food was ok but the road to get to the resort was absolutely treacherous so prepare for that so bumpy lolll . The alcohol in the resort is cheap so don’t expect much also the beach was closed because of the seaweed but overall the trip was amazing first time in mexico and i loved it !

The property, overall service was great. I didn't like that the hotel policies to care for guests were poorly designed. Guests need to go to the front desk for almost everything important that we need. We had to wait a long time to be serviced because there was always a big queue. Also, I forgot our passports at the security box after checking out and to get somebody to open my room to get them took 25 minutes! That was really infuriating as we had to rush into the airport to be on time to take our flight.
