We had an ocean view room with a balcony. The beach was very nice. The staff at the front desk bordered on rude. The room was fine if you’re used to Mexican hotel standards—tired furnishings, poor quality bedding, no water in room, no hairdryer, only 2 bath towels and one hand towel provided, no towel bar. If the hotel was half the price it would be great. They’re getting by because of their location, definitely not their standards or service.

Our room overlooked the ocean nice balcony. Very basic hotel but certainly met my expectations as I knew that I had booked a 3 star hotel. The location was excellent. Small but nice they kept it clean. The hotel is located across the street from a supermarket that came in very handy. Very close to the town square and restaurants. We would return.

There were a few minor annoyances but nothing that wouldn’t make us stay again(already booked again for Sept). For one, wish they put the complimentary coffee out at 6am verses 7:30. They only issue one key, if you want another, you have to pay $5 deposit. The rooms are pretty basic, so if you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t the place. But if you’re looking for chill, relaxing, and good vibes…. This is it!

Could be so much better with small amount of effort. outdoor trash cans were overflowing so unwanted pests near seating area. Ants in or room. The lighting in the rooms was dismal at best.

Fantastic location and a good value. This hotel is quaint and clean and right on the beach! The have a nice restaurant attached which was an easy alternative when we didn’t feel like walking to one of the many delightful local restaurants. The local supermarket is also almost right across the road. And if you’re a scuba diver or like to snorkel, OmDelfin is also on premise and has one of the best crews anywhere! The only thing that would have made our stay absolutely perfect would have been a “Do Not Disturb” sign for our door. The housecleaning staff often came by at the most inconvenient times, but truly, a minor complaint. Overall, our stay was amazing and we’ll definitely stay here next time we visit Puerto Morelos :)

We’ve stayed here 5 times and love the location, beach chairs and dive shop. This trip we wondered if management had changed. A women at the front desk most days was rude in multiple interactions, the pool has many missing tiles that could cause injury and twice we had no maid service (it’s supposed to be daily). Location is great and very walkable near the store, plaza and many restaurants)

The restaurant and their staff were very good but it was very expensive for what you got. The beach was nice. The room was terrible.
You had to lift the door to open so that it did not scrape along the floor. The smell from the sewer was not nice. We kept the lid to the toilet shut and blocked the drains. That helped but not perfect. We did not have a Carbon Monoxide detector, but a guest close to us did and it was very high. Everything in the room was old tired, sheets with stains, towels were old. I'm glad we were only there 4 days. We are now in an Air B&B away from the beach and we are much happier. You should not offer this hotel as a choice for your customers.

Much below expectations. We trusted the positive rating, but ultimately, it's more like rooms above a restaurant (excellent, but run by a separate company) than a proper hotel. The rooms were clean but run-down and more than basic (at least the ones without a balcony). The staff was barely polite and showed no attention to extra needs. We forgot a sweatshirt, and they refused to ship it to us, even though I offered to pre-pay the shipping label. The third star is only for the beach and the location.

Falling asleep listening to the ocean waves, the incredible view, beach chairs that were always available, super clean, just steps away from a great grocery store with plenty of ready to go options, dive shop on site…everything was wonderful and we loved this little fishing town. Pros: you get nice beach views no matter what room you’re in. The ground floor (no balcony) option you get direct access to the pool and the steps to beach are also right outside your door.

The hotel is on the quieter side of town. Right on the edge of everything else which I personally enjoyed. I love my quietness.

They have a good restaurant connected to it and also option for snorkeling/diving and other things connected to the hotel. So Everything you need is there.

Also, free coffee every morning for guests.

Cons: No elevators. Stairs only, they are narrow.

Sheets are super thin. I was cold most nights but I brought socks thank goodness!

No microwave. I got take home food twice and couldn’t warm it up.

The inside isn’t the best, definitely don’t book if you’re looking for luxury.
I’d book again due to the views and the side of town it’s on. I love it. Employees are all excellent! Super helpful and kind staff!

Very quaint hotel older well kept except room 102 had a gap that let in mosquitoes and ants in . On top and Btm of door . They had a foam strip across but you can still see lots of light in between the door and outside . Best room for gorgeous sunrise from bed ! We have been to Puerto Morelos 5 times and have stayed here every time. The staff is SO nice. The hotel is a little older, its not one of the fancy resorts but it is ON the beach. Across from the grocery store and within walking distance of anything you could need. Muelle Once is the restaurant there and it is DELICIOUS. Have the pancakes!!! For those looking for accommodations that are not a big, all inclusive resort, Hacienda Morelos is an amazing option!! The hotel staff were all very friendly and check in was easy. After settling in to our room, we headed out for dinner and some basic groceries. Upon returning to the hotel for the night we had a few issues with the room. I talked to Dori at the front desk about those issues and she quickly trouble shooted and moved us to a new room. Given we now had more stuff than we started with, she even helped us move our things. The hotel is right on the beach with great views! Downstairs, just off the main lobby is a wonderful restaurant, Muelle Once! Service and food were great each time we visited. Additionally, OMDelfin, a dive/snorkel outfitter is on property. This made doing a trip out to the reef very easy and convenient. The hotel has a great location. It is close to the town center, the super market, and many restaurants and shops. Puerto Morelos has a great, chill vibe and you can’t go wrong staying at this hotel.

My husband and I just left Hotel Hacienda. We have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. It has a beautiful ocean front view and the location is walking distance to pretty much everything. We can't wait to go back. We also enjoyed eating at the restaurant that's attached to the hotel called Muelle Once. They have the most delicious food and the service was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only disappointment was that they were renovating the pool during our stay and we were planning on using the pool with my little one who was very disappointed. We ended up doing more excursions because of this but went with Shianne of Eclipse Adventures at Unico Beach Club to swim with whale sharks and to go snorkeling the second largest barrier reef in the world. So that turned out to be an amazing experience that we might not have done if the pool was working. The town and its people are amazing and we can’t wait until next year when we return!

Lovely place to stay in Puerto Morelos , colonial decor touches and very comfortable beds and very nice linens , was able to sleep with balcony doors open with screen to hear surf on beach ..balcony is amble with modern table a nd two chairs , lighting subtle , plenty of space in bath for toiletries ample closet with nice wooded hangers TV remote was very complicated and frustrating ...best thing is location across street from excellent Selecto grocery with cafe and bottle shop , great for coffee and sandwiches in AM ..restaurant in hotel very nice ambiance and good food , 2 min walk to main centro and malecon ..third floor rooms have many stairs to climb not great for seniors but view is worth it ..door at entrance is just sliding glass so not easy access ....excellent place will return ! good price for location and quality wanted to stay longer ! would recommend

Keep in mind that Puerto Morelos is still a small town without the tourist infrastructure or hustle and bustle of Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The hotel is very quiet, the staff is very attentive, and it has a restaurant with good food and a beach where you can swim and sunbathe. There's no elevator, so if you can't go up, it's best to stay on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious, although somewhat rustic. You only have one drawer, which is for the nightstand. There's no drinking water in every room, but there's a supermarket across the street. The view from the balcony can be very relaxing.

While Hacienda Morelos is on the ocean with beautiful views and walkable to anywhere in town, the building needs a lot of work. They did upgrade with glass doors to the patios, but the beds were awful (had to go to the chiropractor when I returned), the toilet needs work and the rooms are not cleaned until late in the afternoons--so you really can't use them all day long. We love going to Puerto Morelos and if there were any other oceanfront hotel in which to stay, we definitely would.

The area was great - short walk to central attractions, restaurants and shopping, it was handy to have the restaurant on-site (although pricey and limited healthy options), ocean view was beautiful, beach was very nice but a bit narrow and busy with boats. Pool rather small but pretty.
Luggage storage was not secure or spacious (could only leave luggage at the front desk), there was no convenience room to change or shower before check-in or after check-out.
Room was lacking hair dryer, conditoner, lotion, coffee maker, drinking water. Bathroom fixtures were dated and edges not perfectly clean.
The on-site dive shop staff were very nice but the coordination for an off-site cenote tour was a disaster.
The front desk staff was not very helpful or knowledgeable (about tours or the airport/departure tax process). We had a difficult time getting a late check-out to accommodate a tour return time booked through the hotel.
Overall, the value of the location and cleanliness of the room was well worth the price but we will look for somewhere else if we return.

A bit run down, we always had to shut our front door twice to make sure it would shut locked. We checked in with the front clerk early and right before we got into the room a few hrs later he said that my husband and I owed seven dollars to a Eco tax that he never said anything about it when I checked in. we were staying with two other couples and they never had to pay the Eco tax. We all booked through Expedia and he was telling me that they didn’t have to pay because they booked through Expedia. So did I! I felt it was a bit of a small shake down for a few bucks in his pocket. Great location in town though.

We love the location on the beach and the prices. The high end grocery store across the street is wonderful. I love the addition of fridges to the rooms, this time our room wasn't the best, but it's traditional Mexican style room which is sufficient.
