My husband and I enjoy coming back to this resort ! we are members but we don’t feel that we get treated as members unlike before! We both have noticed that non members are treated better than us which is disappointing also the entrance use to involve a fresh drink and a clean lavender wet wash cloth that was extremely refreshing after a flight! So as much as we love the resort we recommend going back to the fresh welcoming and increase the night life more than Friday and Saturday nights!

We liked the property and the size. It wasn’t overly huge, but still had great amenities and a good choice of different restaurants included. The included transportation was extremely convenient and the staff in both restaurants and the hotel were always helpful.

Our experience with Generations was the most amazing one I could've ever dreamed of. My kids and I enjoyed mostly the pool, the swim out setting. The food was outstanding, the service so friendly and really impeccable. I was able to practice my Spanish with everybody. We were pampered like we were celebrities! Everything will be in our dear memories forever. A big highlight was also Lomas transportation and their service. Thank you for giving me and my kids a dreamy experience! I highly recommend Generations Riviera Maya to any family! Hasta la próxima, amigos!

Clean room (except bathroom ceiling peeling)|staff was friendly, but it was sometimes difficult to communicate due to language barrier (I’m brushing up on my Spanish). Outdoor areas nice and clean. The resort felt very safe and was not crowded at all. The resort included airport transportation and check into the resort was easy. We were able to visit the Nickelodeon Aqua park, which was fun. The only downside was the unorganized transportation back to Generations from Nickelodeon. Food was decent but limited. The resort offers off-resort restaurants but most are adult only. Overall we had a good time, the trip was for 7 year olds spring break, and he had a blast so that’s the important part.

Communication was not good, we did not know how to access the water park and when we tried to access it we learned it had to be booked the day before. We were not able to use the water park due to that. We struggled with the restaurant options, not enough kid options. Jade restaurant was the best of our experience. They went out of their way to give good service and was very accommodating. Overall, the place was beautiful and clean.

Our family really loved our vacation here! Staff were friendly, resort is clean and well maintained. The Generations section is quite small compared to some other resorts, which was a plus for us because it meant a lot less walking with little ones, less distance to food and rooms etc. Beach was clean, not much seaweed and the Bali beds on the beach were a huge plus! If we went before lunch, we always got a bed. The more inclusive additions of Nick Waterpark and Maroma beach made this stay even better!
The Palms restaurant for breakfast and lunch was our favourite. We travelled with our child, so only has access to 3 a la cartes and one was fully booked when we arrived. Wine Bar had great service and food was excellent. The Indian restaurant was okay, but not my favourite.
The buffet was the only downside of this resort. There wasn't as much selection, compared to other places we stayed. A few nights were themed. But, if you don't love the theme, it wa

Not recommended at all, they charged us 2050$ for just adding another adult to our sweet. We mistakenly put 1 person when we made the reservation. At the property they charged 410$ extra per night for the extra one person. The room service, only fixed the bed sheets. Until I reported that the towels needs to be changed. The other thing it’s the food. We need to run to get a reservation at the restaurants. All fully booked all time we spend the whole visit eating at the Chef Market. And the visit end up with a dead body at the reception front desk. At the checkout… the person who checked us out was very rude.

Our first room had plenty of problems, the shower didn’t provide the option for the rainfall only the hand held, the temperature in the shower kept fluctuating from hot to cold, the safe was defective, the sliding door leading to the balcony wasn’t opening and closing properly.
The concierge was very pleasant and helpful, even assisting my family to change to another room. Overall experience was top notch.

property was very clean and room was spacious. But having limited access to beach area ( we could not walk much on the beach area with kids since adult side of hotel would not allow kids to walk pass them) There is Casita (adult only hotel) side where beach is cut off with cement, and there are seating areas and hammocks on the beach my kids were not allowed to be on. there was no one at the beach except security personel watching us not to seat on those seats. With extreme windy weather and seaweeds everywhere making ribbon like line in the ocean and sand, we only got to swim in one pool. Going to Nick water park was hassel and we come to Mexico for ocean, not water park anyways. If we would want to go water park, we have alot more bigger one in the state or Bahama. If you have little babies or kids under 5years old who does not need much of adventure, this is the hotel for you. Very well maintained and Clean for sure. Shower water pressure is amazing. However, if you have little bit older kids, probably not a best choice.

Loved out stay at Generations Resort.
My only issue during the stay was not having at least 2 time options to retune from the water park back to h to the resort as it makes it very hard for your children to be at the park for so many hours and it was such an issue for us to return in the taxi we had to order and pay $30 for. I do have to say the staff is amazing, very friendly, helpful and informative I did communicate this to the concierge office and they offered to help with transportation if I needed earlier for the next day I was going back.
Besides that we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would definitely be back

We traveled with our 2 and 4 year old and worrying they might be a little too young for travel. 3 months later and the kids still talk about how they want to go back and we continue to tell others how great they were with the kids.

The property was very well maintained, the food was great, rooms were fantastic, and the staff... Darn were the staff ever incredible! We'll certainly be back. We're becoming big fans of Lomas properties

Didn’t have much areas for the kids to walk and play as the other resorts were adults only.

Ordered room service twice and it didn’t show up. Other times it took over 2 hours.

They ran out of bottled water, no slippers, coffee, towels….had to supply room with coffee towels etc from abandoned housekeeping carts. Called for service, most calls were unanswered not picked up.
Food was disappointing, in particular the HABB RESTAURANT, where service was rude and dismissive on both occasions we went there.
Sling bar was superior, bartender excellent and friendly.
Chefs Market and Wine Kitchen were good, although on Dec 22, they refused to seat 7 of us, so 4 went and watched at least five tables for 4 sit vacant the entire evening. Not to mention on our first visit to wine kitchen on Dec17, at about 830 ish after we finished our dinner, we were told to leave by the hostess. Please note service was excellent both times at the Wine kitchen, except for the hostess.
D’italia Casitas, on Dec 20 was good, and the service was impeccable.
Drinks were very poor quality and weak in flavour.
Gift shop was ok, with Adrian being extremely helpful and kind.
Never got slippers for the cold floors, never had bath mats, facecloths and enough towels. Stocking the fridge was never consistent, always looking for bottled water .
Bird crap on the balcony chairs, never cleaned off. Broken screen door, no divider screen like in other rooms between bed and couch. Cabinet Fridge door did not close.
I was surprised that staff had limited if no English , while I tried Español, it was extremely limited. Staff used google translator.

I really liked the big rooms they had! We absolutely loved our main floor swim out! We had Erbie who visited us daily to get our drink orders! The room was very clean, the maids did a good job at cleaning and giving us new towels. I didn’t like how they touched our personal belongings such as our toothbrushes and put them in different places on the bathroom counter. They did stock us well on water but lacked on the snacks they only did that once. We loved the catamaran and snorkeling on Maroma Beach! Drinks and food were included and that was one of the best places we ate!!! There was a lack of communication on instructions for things and where we needed to go or what to do both on Maroma Beach we got there and had no idea what to do. Same for when we left at the end of the week we didn’t know we needed a piece of paper for the transportation but we did eventually figure it out ourselves. But we loved the activities and loved the swim out it was so much fun! Loved the size of the bathroom too! The bartender at Sling Victor was so amazing and friendly we saw him every night! They kept the beach clean! We enjoyed so many meals at the Palms we loved that we can sit out and enjoy the great view of the beach while we ate! Room walls seemed to be thin and we could here a lot, they also didn’t seem to have a limit for quiet time. That did get frustrating when it was really late at night. Overall loved the way the rooms were set up!

Desde el momento en que llegamos, todo el personal hizo todo lo posible para que nuestra estadía fuera excepcional. El resort en sí es hermoso, con vistas impresionantes y comodidades de primer nivel, pero es realmente el personal el que lo hace brillar.

Quiero agradecer especialmente a Brian, Luis y Alex, quienes fueron nuestros meseros durante nuestra estadía. Su atención, calidez y profesionalismo fueron excepcionales. Siempre nos recibieron con una sonrisa, recordaron nuestras preferencias e hicieron que cada comida se sintiera como una ocasión especial. Su dedicación a brindar un servicio excepcional no pasó desapercibida y realmente mejoró nuestra experiencia en el resort.

The place is beautiful, the staff is tremendously welcoming and nice, the property has tons of activities to try out if relaxing at the pools and beaches isn’t for you. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. Only thing that wasn’t really great was the lunch and dinner, the food isn’t really good quality it was more on the cheaper American buffet style type rather than authentic Mexican style.

Our room was not very clean. Little bugs all around the sinks in the bathroom. Not worth the money we paid. Entertainment was very limited. Resort was a ghost town. Chef's market was the best part of the resort. Room service was very, very small portions. No bottled water at the restaurants. Would not return.

The employees at this resort were not friendly or welcoming. Everyone seemed like they hated their job. From check-in to restaurants, bars, and even housekeeping folks. If you ask for anything you are given a look like you are bothering them. The pool was dirty the whole time we were there. One day, they missed cleaning our balcony and we couldn't use it because there was bird poop everywhere. We received cold food at the restaurants multiple times and experienced servers who would not attend to us. We were with a wedding party where others had a similar experience.

We loved everything about it. The drivers were punctual to get you from point A to point B around the resort. The pool was plentiful. The breeze from our room overlooking the ocean was amazing. The only thing that was a slight issue was in the Chef Market. My fiancee wore a shirt that had very short sleeves and the host was giving a little slack. until we pointed out that there were a few ladies of the same party in pjs and head scarves at the breakfast seating.. other than that.. it was awesome

The staff could not be nicer or more willing to help. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The restaurants are incredible for an all inclusive. The drinks are delicious. We brought our baby and they had everything we needed at the resort - a crib/monitor/etc. It’s not a big resort, but if you are looking for a short relaxing vacation, this is great!

Came this week for a wedding. They had weddings daily and multiple of them. This resort is super small. They would have parties/receptions at night and it would be loud music all night till at least11-12am. All rooms surround the pool. Music played all day there. There was no true peace and relaxing unless it was the beach. But they have So much concrete and sand bars that you can’t even enjoy the water nor can you even get in without stepping on rocks there was hardly anybody who was able to enjoy the beach water. No ocean swim at all. The food was subpar. The breakfast buffet was ok but lunch and dinner The portions were extremely small, literaly they gave me a third of a corn on the cob, about 8-10 fries and 4 tiny ribs with hardly any meat. and the drinks were watered down unless you asked for more alcohol. If it wasn’t for us being able to use El Dorado’s restaurants, we would not have had any decent dinners. The wedding dinner was much nicer go figure they paid more. The front entrance lobby is very mediocre. There’s not a great welcome there. It does not feel like paradise when you arrive. The one great thing was the staff. This place needs a total overhaul.

Check in was lacking any information even when we were told “butler” would help. The front lobby had no one to greet us or bell hop. Time was limited when available to ask for help. Check in map and amenities were not explained. We found most restaurants were hard to get into. Most workers were texting on mobile devices vs providing services. Highlight was drivers between resorts who went out of their way to stop, help or provide info. Don’t recommend for the cost to make a reservation.

The dedication and warmth of the Generations Riviera Maya staff truly make the experience.

We dined every morning at the Chef's Market and were warmly greeted by the team and provided everything from mimosas (refills without asking!) to delicious cuisine. On days when we woke up especially early but not quite ready to dine, they happily supplied delicious lattes to sip and enjoy. Similarly, the teams at the Palms and Jade Restaurants were equally accommodating. A special shout out to our server Daniel at the Haab restaurant and Chef Sanjeev for a remarkable meal. It may be odd that our favorite meal in Mexico was Indian fare, but it truly was delicious! The resort also hosts a lovely Mexican themed night with a pinata crafted by the Kids Club staff and a talented mariachi band.

A particular stand out of our four night experience was with the Eko Kids Club. Angie, Wendy, Xio, and Sharon provided fun, engaging activities including face painting, crafts, treasure hunts, and baking. When given the choice to continue enjoying the neighboring Aqua Nick water park or heading to Kids Club, our son emphatically requested Kids Club! We are so grateful to the team for making our son's vacation particularly special! It also afforded us a chance to explore to the two neighboring adults-only properties.

Our room attendant Alma along with the evening staff ensured our room was refreshed each morning and at turn down.

Thanks for a lovely trip!

I checked in on a Sunday with three small children and was quite shocked at how limited this resort was. The pool was cold, the beach was not swimmable due to seaweed and rocks and there were no activities at all our first day. Since there was absolutely nothing to do and no one around we went to Aqua Nick, which was great. Upon our return we had dinner at Jade and told them upon arrival about my son’s sesame allergy. I ordered according to the menu (only a few items listed sesame as an ingredient). Upon delivering the food to the table the waiter informed us that “everything” had sesame in it. I’m sure every parent reading this can imagine how well that went down with my two year old son when presented with a table full of food he wasn’t allowed to eat.

The room was spacious and beautiful. However, the drain in the shower was clogged and completely flooded the bathroom, soaking everything in its path. When we went down to the pool there were leftover dirty cups littered everywhere from the night before. The kids activities started an hour and a half later than written on the schedule, with no acknowledgement. But the worst part was despite asking three (3!) times for them to order me transportation to the airport, upon check out I sat there with the three kids for 35 minutes waiting for a cab to arrive that no one had ordered. When I finally asked if that wait was normal, they casually told me no one had called anyone. Top that off with the fact that the cab charged me $95

I would recommend this resort to adult travellers but likely wouldn’t come back with children. We booked a swim up suite. Below are some of the pros and cons:
CONS:
-pools are not heated which was hard with kids. Balcony pools were cold and so was the main pool
-at times staff were helpful but you had to find the right person to help you which sometimes meant having to talk to 5 different people, service was hit or miss
-no central lobby bar or gathering place (lobby is located quite a distance from the resort for some odd reason).
-cement barriers in the water and rocky reef so couldn’t swim in the ocean
-limited selection of restaurants/food because only specific ones are open on specific days
-breakfast buffet never changed and had limited selection
PROS:
-kids enjoyed kids club which allowed us to venture over to the adults only Casitas and Royale which had a better selection of restaurants
-rooms are a good size
-Jade and Wine kitchen had good food
-Andres was an excellent Concierge even though he wasn’t even assigned to our building.
-we had Aqua Nick passes which was a great for the kids
-premium selection of alcohol

The beach is ugly with the sea wall “art” that moved close to shore after a storm. A lot of natural rock wall which makes it uncomfortable to want to pass it to swim in the ocean. Which is a major factor in me not recommending.

The swim pool is cold and we had a swim-up room. No hot tubs.

The breakfast buffet was great but the restaurant keeps the curtains CLOSED at breakfast blocking ocean view.

The room lacked privacy while in both the bath and sleeping area. The walls are open at the top of the bathroom.

We got off to a rough start with a travel delay and late night check-in. Unfortunately arrived to an empty lobby with no signage and no working phones. Were told we could order late night food yet our phone in our room didn’t work so we had to walk back to concierge area for them to place our food order. While at concierge found my family’s passport photo copy sitting unsecured at desk.

In 3 nights, we had no hot water in our shower, maintenance came and showed us to run water for about 10 minutes or more. We were able to take a hot bath after filling the tub once with cold water, draining it then refilling (Waste of water).

Excellent room service, and grounds service.

Concierge never contacted me even after I downloaded WhatsApp. While some of the staff was excellent, there were a lot of new employees who seemed to need a lot of training and some who were overtly rude especially when I felt I’d been overcharged for the bottle of wine at wine restaurant.

Ideal para familias, hay kids club y los niños se divierten, no hay actividades acuáticas más que la alberca pero lo funcional es que te incluye ir a playa maroma y te dan paseo en Catamarán gratis con snorkel y al quedarte mínimo 3 noches puedes ir a pasar el día al parque de Nickelodeon con snacks y bebidas no alcoholicas incluidas eso está súper ! La transportación a cualquiera de los 2 es gratis
