The room was poorly illuminated and could have used a couple of chairs as well as a small table for writing etc.
We experienced a significant amount of road noise and interior noise from adjoining room doors.
The hotel was conveniently located to Maastricht center.

Lovely, simple, comfortable hotel with a cosy, authentic feel. The room was comfortable (great beds and plenty of room) and everything very clean and well cared for. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street and it was very, very noisy for much of the night. Guests who are light sleepers might want to request a room facing the back.

A great hotel and location. I stayed in room 112 which was beautiful. Just a few minor issues to note: I could hear the traffic from my room, the shower was faulty because it’s difficult to regulate the water temperature, the shower was more like a wet room and there’s no wardrobe in the room.

A totally enjoyable stay, the staff make you feel welcome and at home from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The building is an old monastery and has been thoughtfully refurbished throughout. The food in the restaurant is great and the bar and restaurant offer a very relaxed atmosphere, just what you need after the busy bars of Maastricht.

Hotel was in a great location for Vrijthof Square for the Andre Rieu concert. Over priced for the standard of the property. Our room was an upgrade but was more a 3 star I think. No wardrobe space or storage, carpet was in need of some attention, cleaned daily but small details like soap being refilled or loo roll being supplied helps.

It is a charming hotel. The staff at check in is mostly young people. It could be by chance but when I had interactions with them, they were unprofessional. They were talking amongst each other, which I don’t mind… but they gave me the keys and I was not able to use it to open my room… twice when checking in. Once I understand , but twice… it is frustrating, more so when there was no apology given. I felt like I was interrupting something… I don’t know how to explain it. I have to go back to the charming town of Maastricht . I am going g to try another place.

Love the location and the vibe of this boutique hotel, but the heating system was not working in our room and there was a stale mildew odor that forced us to open window (winter temps outside). The staff tried to help but no other rooms were available to us. No effort to correct the situation with a credit or refund. It was disappointing.

Had a great 3 night stay here. Maastricht is great city with plenty to do with the Monastere in a great central location and it was very comfortable with nice bedrooms. We had a small drain issue which was fixed very quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

My worst nightmare.

Arrived to find our room was not ready and instructed to come back later . Eventually got in to the family room . It was filthy dirty, cobwebs in the corner of the room, on ceiling lights, and under the bed had it’s on eco system. In addition there was nowhere to place a case , and there are no wardrobes in the room. The lamp side table was broken. When this was brought to the attention of the hotel and you girl ( not a manager and the catering manager ) did their best to rectify the situation but there is only so much they could do. The place is filthy and is grossly understaffed . That you girl was the only person on duty after 5 o clock . No manager or person in authority was on the premises and I believe that this is a regular occurrence . Do not stop here . Go somewhere else and save yourself a multitude of heartache and enjoy your holiday in a difficult premises.

The hotel is very central to the shops and squares and everything is in easy walking distance. The railway station is also close and within easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend getting the Bus from the Airport to the Train Station and walking to the hotel. Bars and Restaurants are in the square about 50m away. The
Vrijthof square is only 5 mins walk from the hotel, so perfect if you are going to a concert in the square.

Great location close to restaurants, cafes, and venues. Nice place with stylish decor and friendly staff. Breakfast was pretty good, but the facilities and staffing are not designed for the number of guests the hotel can hold. One must schedule the time for breakfast, and even then it can be that some items are unavailable at that time. Another significant downside is that there is no actual heating in the climate control system. So the room was chilly. The only option is for the dehumidifier feature to be turned on, but that provides minimal or even possibly no benefit. If romance is part of the plan, better adjust your plans a bit... If the weather were warmer, the stay would be much nicer.

Stylish, quirky, clever marriage of old and new

This is a beautiful and well thought out restoration of an older property. Rooms show traces of the architecture (eg beams) but they are cleverly contrasted with modern materials. Bed was comfy, excellent pillows and quality linens. There wasn't much hanging space, however, and my bathroom smelled a little funky. But that really was a tiny part of an otherwise lovely stay (and would go there again).

The WC was very small and tight. The bathroom was ok, but the shower stall was configured so the water splashes into the bathroom floor. No towel rack. larking is in a public lot 10 minutes away; very inconvenient.

Hotel has good standard, top location, but no parking. You have to add Euro 24,-- per day for
parking. It was a first for me to have a room without a wardrobe or chest of drawers, the bathroom had an excellent shower, but a tiny washbasin and lack of facilities for storage.

Was in town for a couple of days for an Andre Rieu concert. The original room were checked into had a hole in the ceiling which was stuffed with a white towel and sealed up with gaffer tape (see attached photo). Quickly complained and was assigned a new room which was acceptable however neither of the small rooms contained a wardrobe for clothes hanging! I have travelled a lotover the years but this was a first for me. The receptionist brought a mobile clothes rack which we used. They must receive a lot of similar requests. The hotel was clean and well decorated, apparently opened a year ago and was previously a monastery. The bathroom wet room concept didn't work too well as the floor outside of the shower area also became wet as a result of showering. The hotel is in a great location and the breakfast was delicious. My cousin/s room had a bed that was crammed into the corner with access only on one side of the bed where there was a cupboard that couldn't be used because the bed prevented the door from opening and therefore the cupboard being used!

This is a beautiful hotel! We loved staying here and would come back again! Breakfast was wonderful with a huge selection of everything.Staff were lovely.Location superb.
We had a triple room but found the bunk beds to be very confined. Also water should be complimentary in the room. Would be lovely to sit and eat in the rear garden. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel!!

An amazing boutique styled hotel, really stylish and great friendly staff. Everything was spotless and catered for and comfortable, the only complaint I have is that we were given room 100 which is on the ground floor directly in the street and in the lobby area, this proved to be very noisy with cars and people coming and going all night outside and entering the hotel. Would definitely have preferred a room upstairs.

We came to Maastricht for the Ironman event, we found the hotel and the staff were extremely helpful and spoke English, quick check in and off to the room, The lifts are amazing with graffiti style art work on the shafts which you see as you go up. We found the room to be modern but quirky in a retro style (loved it !!!), it had shutters and windows that opened up it was a very generous size, the bed was large, the bathroom was beautiful with lovely spa soaps and shampoo and all modern fittings. Dab radio, nespresso machine, kettle, safe, table and two chairs by the window, Comfiest beds I've slept in for such a long time with proper pillows and quilt, plush towels, plush carpets. If I was to return to Masstricht I would certainly stay here again. Being a new hotel we were quite lucky everything was immaculate, lighting was plentiful and even ambient night lighting on sensors under bed. On the whole well done it is a stunning hotel with everything you could want for a short break in the city. We even enjoyed sitting in our room.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Maastricht’s old town

This beautifully and tastefully refurbished hotel right in the heart of Maastricht’s old town was perfect for our weekend break. Within easy walking distance of the old town square.
The room was elegant and cosy with very comfortable beds and the bathroom was clean and hygienic with easy to use facilities. Would have welcomed more storage and hanging space but only a small negative point.
Dining was another very pleasant experience. The food was well prepared and cooked producing excellent meals.
Staff were friendly, polite, extremely attentive and very helpful at all times. Nothing was too much trouble.

The glass in the lift is extremely dirty and should have been cleaned other than that the places is spotless.

Hidden charges there is a Tourist tax to pay from my stay it works out at 5 Euro per person per night which i wasn't expecting and it says nothing in there Expedia listing

I booked because of price but when you take into account the Tax its no cheaper than any other site that includes the tax.

From what i believe this is a new hotel and more care should have been taken on the finish.

Mooie locatie, maar teleurstellende schoonmaak

We verbleven 2 nachten in Hotel Monastère in Maastricht. De locatie is absoluut top en het bed lag heerlijk, dus qua comfort en ligging scoort het hotel goed. Helaas liet het onderhoud en de schoonmaak te wensen over. Er zaten vlekken in de vloerbedekking en we vonden zelfs medicatie op de grond bij aankomst. Ook was de lamp in de badkamer kapot en kon dit tijdens ons verblijf niet worden gerepareerd.

Het uitzicht vanuit onze kamer was bovendien minder dan gehoopt. Het personeel bood wel hun excuses aan en gaf ons ter compensatie twee flesjes wijn, wat we op prijs stelden. Al met al een gemengde ervaring: goede ligging en bedden, maar hygiëne en onderhoud mogen echt beter.

Unfortunately, our one-night stay at Hotel Monastère was overshadowed by an unacceptable hygiene issue. On the morning of our departure, we found two cockroaches in our room (Room 215), one even crawling on the bed. We took photos as proof (see attached image).
We had very little time before check-out, so we didn’t report it to the front desk in person – instead, we emailed the hotel shortly after. While the hotel did respond, the tone of the replies was more focused on what we supposedly did wrong (not informing reception immediately, not showing the insects) than on sincerely addressing the issue.
Cockroaches in a hotel room are not a minor inconvenience – this is a serious cleanliness and maintenance failure. The offered 25% refund did not reflect the severity of the situation, and the lack of understanding in the follow-up communication made it worse.
We expected a much more professional and guest-focused handling of this incident. Definitely not the experience we had hoped for.

Auf den ersten Blick alles gut, aber auf den zweiten Blick Abzüge! Zimmer niedlich, Bett bequem, Klimaanlage. Aber sehr staubig, keine Verstaumöglichkeiten und hellhörig. Regendusche, die Verschwemmung im Bad verursacht. Kein Abzug oder Febster im Bad, Luft und Gerüche stehen drin. Frühstück teuer, wer vegan möchte, muss jeden Tag extra nach Pflanzendrink fragen, sehr unangenehm, kommt einem wie Betteln vor. Kein veganes Joghurt, kein Käse- oder Wurstersatz, obwohl beim Check-in vegan erbeten. Brot und Brötchen lecker, frisches Obst und Haferflocken. Für den Preis nicht an alle gedacht. Lage top, schöne Aussicht in Innenhof.
