The hotel is very beautiful. A former church was renovated to create a very stylish, lovely hotel. The condition of the room was excellent, especially the bathroom which has a fantastic tub and great hot water and water pressure in the shower. The bed is reasonably comfortable and the room, though snug, was good for our purposes.
We did not get the breakfast, as 40 EUR per person for a buffet seemed too much. Service was fine, though several times they were not able to help with requests.
A local friend who knows about food highly recommended their restaurant for dinner, though we were not in town long enough to take advantage.
The location is convenient to nice restaurants and shopping, and a short taxi ride to the train station.
Overall, it was nice and we were happy enough, but I think you are mostly paying for the beautiful lobby. I'm not sure I would spend so much to stay here again.

We really enjoyed this hotel as a great couples trip. We stopped in town for 2 nights and were conveniently upgraded at check in! Great closet space to hang up coats, comfortable bed and pillows, and amazing A/C. The area was quiet on a Sun-Tues and we enjoyed the in-hotel bar in the evening one of the nights - their espresso martini and amaretto sour were SO good. Through booking with Expedia we got a VIP treat of a free glass of Prosecco each on our first night. Would highly recommend for anyone stopping in town for a couple nights and super walkable - only a couple blocks off Vrijthof Square with lots of bars, restaurants and grocers to stop at.

Central location. Receptionists excellent and very good when asked for anything. Room quite tight and difficult to negotiate movement without hitting your head due to the slanting original ceiling on the second floor. The overall ambiance in the main building is impressive but there is no extras like a gym, sauna, pool , etc . It’s simply the room that you’re paying for, breakfast ( continental) at €45 is extra and the restaurant is open on Saturdays for evening meals only .

This hotel is unique. The hotel is located in a monastery combined with a Gothic church, and it merges the modern and the ancient in a comfortable marriage. We had an extraordinary stay and an amazing breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A once in time happening and experience.

Disappointing. Had very high hopes for this hotel. Its very beautiful hotel- mix of the old and modern is interesting; however lack of function, especially in the room is substantial. Ate at the restaurant for lunch upon arrival and became very sick. My husband notified the hotel and we received an apology- that’s it. I was sick for a day and half! Breakfast is way overpriced- not worth it- so skip it. Still haven’t received our receipt- they told us it would be emailed- never received it. A very disappointing stay- will stay elsewhere when in. Maastricht.

Because of Covid outbreak we were actually not allowed to travel from our hometown in Belgium to Maarstricht which i 10 km over the border. So we ask for this 700 usd stay for 2 days for a rain check, but nope we would be charged full rate.So we thought well then let’s see how this place is. Breakfast was supposed to be included but we were charged around usd 40 per person then parking also around usd 40 per night. Dinner menu was very limited and really very common food. Wine list extreme expensive for a little better wines.So we left after one night the “upgraded” room was so small that i could not go to bed without great risk of bumping my head. The friendly staff tried to make things up by giving us a bottle of local wine. All in all not worth to spend a fortune in this place! And flexibility zero under these extreme covid rules!

Lovely looking hotel, but not great service.

The room was lovely, but the shower was not very clean - lots of pink mould in the tiles. The toilet was not cleaned daily and the coffee and tea were not replenished unless asked for. There is a limit of four coffee pods per day and additional pods are charged at €1 each. Parking is charged at €35 per day, but you can park one minute away for €15 per day. The city tax was on our booking confirmation at €5.59 per person per day, but we were charged €12.50 per person per day.

Great hotel in the center of Maastricht. Simple room, but the restaurant is in a mezzanine in the middle of an old church. Very beautiful.
Our room was near the service area and very noisy. I think it was room 123, you should avoid it if possible, because also the wifi quality was very poor. We told the management but they were full so they could not accommodate our request to change.

Staff absolutely charming and attentive. First room wasn’t great, quite dark and pooky however on hearing we weren’t 100% happy we were found and asked if we’d like to move rooms.. staff took care of the move whilst we eat a delicious dinner. Second room much better.
In all a fabulous stay. Highly recommend.

All in all OK but definitely not 5 star

Room was so cramped that I hit the radiator twice when getting out of bed. Bed linen had a hole in it and some dust/spider web could be seen close to the ceiling. Definitely not 5-star hotel standard.
However service and politeness of hotel staff definitely a big plus!

One of the Very Best

This is an amazing hotel located in a former monastery and church near the center of Maastricht. It clearly doesn't look like a hotel from the front or sides but the location is easily found using a GPS. The interior has been very tasteful modernized while the exterior and main interior walls retain their original glory. The rooms are large and very comfortable. There is even an elevator.

Service is excellent. I arrived quite late -- about 6AM on the morning after my reservation due to some flight issues, and the gentlemen in reception just rushed me to my room saying that the check-in could wait until later in the day. Everyone I encountered was equally helpful and gracious.

The restaurant is located on a sort of loft in the middle of what I think was the church. Food was outstanding, and the pace of service is more like a fine dining restaurant than a hotel. Don't plan on a quick lunch or dinner.

I would highly recommend this location.

Underwhelmed !

I was very disappointed in the hotel. The grounds and the hotel are magnificent but if the rooms and service are not up to par, then it is worthless. I found that 34 Euro a day for parking is ludicrous .The fact that the WIFI is sketchy is also unacceptable. The room was so tiny I Had to walk sideways to get to the other side.

A great hotel for your stay in Maastricht

This is a great property built on a old church, the name means \"Men of cross\". They have done a great job of restoration and re-build. It is also very well located, has a good staff and is well appointed. The rooms may seem smaller but overall it is a good hotel for families and couples or anyone. We would come back here again.

We just spent $400 E for 2 rooms for the night. We did not want to eat a big meal of the $25 restaurant buffet, so we stepped out and brought back a coffee and croissant and sat on the couch in the lobby to finish it. There was no sign this was part of the restaurant and no one was around but the receptionist. They uncouteously told us to leave,embarrassing us. They also mislead us about parking in town and tried to add a breakfast to our bill

Luxurious hotel in an impressive setting. Very cleverly done.

Good - location, originality and eye catching design.

The bar area is great but quite small and they could do with a bigger area as its clearly a big meeting point and gets very busy so can be hard to find a seat.

The corridors to bedrooms are quite clinical and plain but you don't spend long in corridor.

Bedroom was spacious, clean and well designed. Very contemporary and neutral colours.

We arrived in Maastricht to see Andre Rieu on Sunday. Arriving at the hotel, you sense that this will be no ordinary hotel experience. You can't help but want explore the cathedral space that is the lobby as the friendly staff leads you to the front desk, it's awe inspiring. Even better than the photos. Staff were never short of being polite and friendly, and will see that you have the utmost enjoyable stay there. This hotel also offers an amazing home style burger with an assortment of desserts for room service, which is perfect when the sky is pouring down onto the cobbled streets below and you have everything you need under the one roof of where you are staying. Fantastic hotel and will advise that if you ever plan to visit Maastricht the once, this is the Hotel to stay at.

Wow, what a great find for us

We read the reviews and decided to stay one night on our way to Italy. The people are so great and helpful and the room was so comfortable, clean and had the best hotel bed ever, we stayed an extra night. It is worth every penny because they treat every guest as if you were the king and queen. We can't wait to stay there again.

Wonderful hotel and service. Very clean, great concept being in an old church. My one and only concern was that in the morning housekeeping prepared their carts and worked out of the hallway in front of my room. This was distracting, and for an upgraded room i found it odd taht housekeeping did not have an alternative place to work from. I walked out of my door to carts, bags of linens and lots of noise. This was disappointing. On another note the location was great, in walking distance to the entire town, which is just magical. The staff was attentive at the front desk, breakfast, and for cocktails in the bar.

Beautiful hotel in former church and monastery. Excellent location. Suggested to book with breakfast included or eat out as breakfast is expensive. No wifi in rooms. For this price, the hotel should consider providing free internet access in rooms. Staff super friendly and attentive and room wonderfully decorated and clean.

What a place

Maastricht has figured out how to take an old building and repurpose it. This old church which has been turned into a trendy wonderful hotel was one of the coolest places I have ever stayed. The way in which they gave this beautiful old church new life is truly inspirational. It is a must stay.

- Tolle Lage und wirklich schönes Gebäude

Negativ:
- wir hatten die Juniorsuite gebucht, an sich ein schönes Zimmer, allerdings war es unmöglich eine angenehme Raumtemperatur zu erzeugen
- bedingt durch die einfachverglasten Fenster hört man leider jedes Fahrzeug der angrenzenden Straße
- unser Zimmer befand sich im Erdgeschoss zum angrenzenden Garten. Der Garten wird von den Mitarbeitern als Pausenraum genutzt, was bedeutet, dass direkt vor dem Fenster eine große Gruppe Menschen lautstark zusammensaß und direkt in unser Zimmer schaute. Absolutes no Go im Bezug auf Privatsphäre.
- Personal an der Rezeption unfreundlich und arrogant, nach unserer Anmerkung bezüglich der nicht vorhandenen Privatsphäre wurden wir eher belächelnd

Teleurstellend. Het geld niet waard helaas.

Prachtig hotel, allervriendelijkst personeel, mooie locatie in de stad. Een paar dingen; douche kop was vies waardoor er weinig water uit de douche kwam. Bijna geen druk dus shampoo uitspoelen duurde eindeloos. Verder mag er van tevoren best worden gemeld dat een kamer geen ramen heeft. We vonden dit erg vervelend. Als je dergelijke prijzen hanteert mag daar wel iets tegenover staan, zeker een kamer met raam!
