Really fun concept, a little worse for the wear. This is definitely a family hotel so there will be a lot of kids running around. The room itself was very clean, a little tight space wise, but darling. The outer walkways and stairs could use a freshen up and parking on a busy holiday weekend is quite tight. The pool was a big bonus for such a heat wave, but again, lots of loud, unattended kids, and it may be a bit understaffed as it was WRECKED with food and drink debris and completely out of towels when we arrived. But the front desk staff is quick to respond and their houseman was working his tail off and quite nice.

We were very disappointed that they no longer offer a free breakfast and a free welcome drink at check in, however we found out it is offered to some guests? We've stayed at this property 5 times and have loved it, we still have one more stay here already booked however it will be our last time. We have two more upcoming trips to the area and will be staying elsewhere.

The room’s decor is cute. The room was clean. The location is convenient. Parking is a hassle if you arrive close to dark. Our room was between the office and the pool on the first floor and the base of the music late was a bit bothersome, but if you sleep with a sound machine, you probably wouldn’t notice it.

Great hotel, we stayed here last minute when there was an issue with the room that we booked at the Gatlinburg Town Square. Staff was extremely friendly, the hotel was beautiful. The only thing I could say (thats not even a complaint) about is that the parking lot in front of the hotel fills up pretty quickly in the evening but they had overflow parking behind the building. Would definitely stay here again!

Our 1 night stay was excellent. I need to shout out Crystal and Sherona at the front desk. They were amazing. They literally saved me. I had booked my stay the night before on hotels.com. I was having issues with the website. I was also checking different options to get the best deal.
My stay was Saturday to Sunday and somehow with all my back and forth I accidentally made it Friday to Saturday.
When Crystal told me this I about died. How did I miss this when i was booking? I told her I would book another night on my phone and I would be back in a few minutes. She explained the issue to Sherona who went to speak with someone. She came back and told Crystal to go ahead and switch everything to that night. I was so grateful for their help and excellent customer service. They didn't need to do that. They could have very easily said too bad. It's your fault, but they didn't and for that I am very grateful to them. We all make mistakes but this would have been a costly one for me. Thanks ladies. I will definitely be staying at The Wayback Hotel any time I stay in Pigeon Forge. The convenience of being directly across from The Island is a big plus too.

Room was clean for the most part. Found a couple hairs here and there but nothing too bad. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was close to everything so you could just walk instead driving. The only issue we had with our room was we could hear everyone and everything outside our door. We heard guest talking as they were going to their rooms and heard house keeping talking outside the rooms early in the morning. It didn’t get quiet until around midnight. Other than that it wasn’t a bad place.

What an exciting concept and unique style for a hotel. They took an old, run down hotel that probably dated back to the 60's and turned it into a fun, no big frills hotel. Great location, nice pool and hot tub and on site restaurant. We loved the room and parking was easy. The restaurant which has an amazing menu unfortunately had a gas leak so we weren't able to try it (next time because the menu looked fabulous). You really can't go wrong at the Wayback if you understand it is just an old hotel that has had a face lift and offers a great location and fun vibe.

Hotel is a great central location on the strip. They do not have enough parking for the amount of rooms for their hotel though. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. However, I won't be back. Each door to each room has door puller on them. The doors slam shut every time you open them. So all night and early morning all you can do is hear doors slamming. The doors also are so heavy feeling and close so fast they will hit you as you are trying to get in the room. My mother came by as they stayed in a different hotel and the door almost knocked her down and did bruise her. A kid would very easily be hurt by these doors and it makes it very difficult to sleep. Honestly other than that the hotel is great and I would stay there often. This was my 2nd stay at the Wayback and I was hoping maybe they had changed the doors but I don't think that is going to happen. Staff was nice enough. Hotel clean. Pool looked nice.Breakfsst tasted great. We had breakfast vouchers so that was nice. If you don't get vouchers, the breakfast absolutely would not be worth the price with other options close by being better for the same price. Overall good hotel with terrible doors.

There was a pretty severe storm that went through, and I slept through it despite being on the top floor! That NEVER happens.

The only thing I didnt get to enjoy was my own fault. I didnt get to make use of the breakfast vouchers because I'm a night owl, and slept through breakfast hours!

I know this was an older hotel at one time- stayed here when I was young. They have done a lot of update. The road is pretty loud, as one would know, beside the parkway. The racetrack is right next door so that’s pretty loud as well. I will say that the bathroom looked like it had not been mopped in a good little bit- there were quite a few dirty spots on the floor. Overall- we will stay again, might just bring a swiffer for the floor to feel more comfortable. I would have expected better cleaning with this being a Marriott hotel

Stayed here last night and loved it!!! They actually had the holy trinity of pet friendly, a WORKING hot tub, and great reviews. Booked this place so fast and hoped for the best. We arrived late around 9pm and all of us got into the large and steamy hot tub and relaxed. Then we swam in the heated pool. Towels were still available and there was an indoor bar open til midnight where we had martinis. A very enjoyable 3 hours was had after our late and exhausted arrival!

Staff was super friendly, we loved everyone!!! Bar was great, restaurant was delicious, coffee was great, the rooms were so cool and well decorated and spacious. We had a keurig, a fridge (no freezer), really wonderful toiletries and a blow dryer.

There were elevators but also ramps if you didn’t want to wait. The hotel has exterior entrances and can be a little noisy in the morning as guests walk by but we couldn’t hear cars or anything like that on the road.

My only grumbles are that the shampoo and body wash were empty, the beds and bedding aren’t as nice as I’d like and the floors were pretty dirty. Could’ve used a more thorough refilling and mopping before we got in there but it wasn’t a big deal. The pet fee was a whopping $150 (!!!!!) but they cut it in half due to our short one-night stay. Our corgi was well behaved and enjoyed this hotel too :)

We have stayed in this area multiple times and this is the first hotel we would book again and stay at again. Top notch service and rooms!
