the room to me is a non-smoking one which is what i ordered, but i can smelt smoke in the room from time to time. they provided me a air-purifier. Though this has solved the problem, the hotel should have a stricter measure prohibiting smoking in the hotel.

Staff spoke little English but were helpful when assistance was needed. Family room was spacious. However the sofa bed was uncomfortable and cannot be sleep on. Sore spine and terrible pain. Definitely not recommended for sleeping.

The check-in process, room, and staff were excellent.

The only thing I didn't like about this place was that there were some smoking floors, and you could smell the cigarette smoke strongly in the lifts, as well as the heavy use of air fresheners in other areas to cover the smell.

Overall stay was good. Staff at Hotel was helpful to assist on our check-in.
We encountered inconvenience during check-in because the agent who represent Hotels.com did not provide documentations of our booking confirmation to the Hotel which cause a long delay in getting ourselves check-in.
Hope to have Hotels.com to take note and improve on your service.

To be honest the property is amazing although it’s the first hotel wherein, I’ve faced a lot of challenge while talking to the staff.
They don’t English
Few of them tried to help us in the best possible way like the Manager (Jacky) he was the best when it comes to hospitality.
Another person was on 26th floor. He tried his best to assist and explain the complete situation.

But a shoot out for Jacky and the guy who served us on 26th floor (17 sep 2024 around 5) for being the best manager and for his hospitality

Pros: Fast check-in & check-out, tidy room, comfortable bed, helpful staffs
Cons: Misleading lift sign, overreacted while handling guest inquiry
Assistant Manager Christine was very professional, took summary action to create and check-in my booking, while receptionist was kept occupying by other guests on the phone. I was told that non-smoking king bed room was not available but she was very helpful to arrange me one. Not to mention, it was a last minute booking.
The elevator sign is misleading. Special thanks to Anna, who took visitors temperature in hotel lobby, came and rendered me assistance actively, when I was vaguely looking for the lift to hotel rooms. Turns out the lift opposite front desk does not reach to hotel room floor but to other facilities.
In-room dining was served by staff Bonnie very politely.
A good experience became a huge DISAPPOINTMENT until my check-out asking for the names of the staffs who helped me. I made it amply clear that it was not a complaint. So far from they refused to provide their names, they were making a fuss over it and the situation suddenly went hostile towards me when it was supposed to be my amicable feedback with compliments.
After several phone calls that night, they finally compromised. I hope they did not randomly pick those names A & B & C just to cater for my request. For those workers who really helped the hotel guests, they deserve the compliments and supports. But the way they handle my request was merely adequate.

Local Flavor - Quiet and Comfortable

My husband and I and another couple enjoyed our two-night stay at the Metropark. We were in Macau to see the city, not to gamble, and found the Metropark a great place to stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very nice and helpful, although not every staff member spoke English. Be prepared for that! Also, be prepared for lots of Chinese options at the breakfast buffet. But that's what we wanted and enjoyed...local flavor. Just outside the hotel, we found lots of interesting small restaurants and shops. We were able to walk from the hotel to a few of the casinos and a large department store, as well as to the historic area, and we used the Hop On Hop Off bus to see more of the city. If you arrive by ferry at the Macau terminal, there's a shuttle bus from the hotel to pick you up.

Clean room, with a small health club and staff are friendly. The only concern is that there are cigarettes smell in the non-smoking room. Probably smokers stayed there before and the smell got absorbed.

3 adults in a Suite room. 3rd rollway bed is hard but others comfy. Plenty of toiletries.
Limited English made room service for milk for English tea difficult and amusing, but it came in the end. Found some OK restaurants close by. We walked everywhere to tourist sites. Helpful concierge though English is limited they are polite and try. Big bonus free afternoon tea/beer food served in one of their restaurants

Comfortable rooms and the right price!

Check-in was smooth and simple. We arrived early, so we dropped off our bags and walked around, then returned when the room was ready. The room and bed were very comfortable to stay in! If you do not want a casino in your hotel, then this would be perfect for you. It is walking distance from most places in the peninsula area and since we enjoy walking, it was easy for us to get around on foot. It's a 15-20 minute walk to Senado Square. To get to the Cotai strip, we'd taxi for about 70-80MOP.

Great location near historic sites, OK condition

This hotel is located near the \"old town\" part of Macau. A bit away from the big casinos. But certainly not in a sleepy part of town! Plenty of shops, other hotels, etc that are open late into the night.

Room was very quiet and comfortable enough for me for a 1-night stay by myself in Macau (visiting from Hong Kong). But room quality is not that good, which explains the cheap price. Stains on bed sheets, stains on couch, cracks in walls and trim, etc. The room was CLEAN (no dirt/etc) but not in good REPAIR (in a nicer hotel the above-mentioned items would be replaced).

The staff was very nice at both check-in and check-out. I did not try the restaurant. Amenities in the room were nice. Included plug adapter, water kettle, instant coffee, tea, bottled water, toothbrush and paste, etc. Also the shower was pretty good and the shampoo has a really nice smell.

Everything was almost perfect but I was not satisfied & it ridiculous upon my check in. Has been informed from front line hotel staff that there not allow me for proceed check in due my name and passport name wss not match as I use my english name follow by surname name with passport full given name is different. I have no problem for all the while check in any country whenever I travel until there have told me I need to proof that I am the correct person even I have show them my check in voucher, official receipt, & official email to them. At last I can proof them with my credit card which that is really me. Make a common sense. If i am not the right person I would have not hold and official email,receipt,payment attachments unless that was an forwarded copy.

Wonderful location

Its good but would be better with free breakfast. The room I was in was an older room, a bit dated. Should probably get a room below floor 16 as it appears to be renovated from observations of the floor. I did not view those lower floor rooms to confirm it. Its within walking distance to most of the sights of Macau. The hotel only have a courtesy ride to and from Macau's ferry to HK. Should you land in the Taipa ferry or the Macau airport, ride on the Wynn's Casino courtesy bus to Macau, will reduce your transportation costs. Have a wonderful time in Macau!

Metropark Suite Was Great!

I was on business planning for an upcoming radio road show at the MGM Macau and stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife. We booked the standard room and the assistant manager upgraded us to a suite. It was really nice!

solo getaway, no casino, no smoking, great rest.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist was unable to locate my booking. However after a phone enqury, the gentleman found my booking. Although information specified the types of room required, same question still being asked, e.g. Smoking room, types of bed... Arrived by noon hence as usual, room unavailable until 14:30. Hence dropped off baggage and went for a stroll. Nearby hotel was little uncomfortable due upgrade renovation. A little distance from walking to heritage senado square however easy access if one takes busses. Room was amazing and very comfortable. It was an upgrade from superior room to deluxe. Appreciate the great sleep with nice music after a 4hours morning flight as well as a good stroll around.

Checked in the morning, needed to wait a room assignment by the regular check in time.
The room was reasonably sizable and well cleaned. It was possible to observe several of outdated parts but they were OK.
Location is convenient for most entertainment (casinos and sightseeing spots) which were in the walking distance. In-room Wifi connection worked anyhow but was slow but also not stable, then need to prepare a mind set for not relying it.

Good spot with restaurants next door and supermarkets around the corner. Walking distance to casinos if that's your bag. Walking distance to bus hub. Room was quite large by Asian standards which was a nice change - a bit run-down: stained carpet, some peeling wall-paper but clean. Being a bigger room compensated for it being a bit 'worn'. The hotel has this system: they give you a one-off 50MOP coupon per room which you can use for any food and beverage purchase in the hotel over 200MOP. So their buffet breakfast was 50MOP so with the coupon for four of us, our breakfast was only 150MOP. Although the quality of the 'Western' food on offer varied, the Asian breakfasts were the same good quality so we ended up eating there each morning. Very good value.

Pros - At the heart of Macau City Centre, 15-20mins walk to Senado Square, St Paul Ruins and major places of interest. Buses & taxi services are nearby with free hotel shuttle bus to & fro ferry terminal. 7-Eleven just opposite. Clean hotel & good daily housekeeping. Good view on higher floors.

Cons - The hotel staff were not conversant in English & even speak a little Mandarin only. No shuttle bus to Airport.

You get what you pay for close to city center

Hotel room was tired. Peeling wall paper, stains on carpet, etc., but bed & linen were fine. Paper thin towels but hot water and toilet worked fine. However, no temperature control on the air conditioning. We were told to shut it off if too cold.

The rooms are old and the hotel is not well organized. Wifi was slow. There was no central heating, but they did bring in a space heater when I requested it. The lights are all controlled near the bed including the bathroom light. There are almost no outlets. They all say for hotel lamps only except for one which is located near the entrance. Not a convenient place to plug your phone in.

Weather was nice. Enjoyed walking from hotel through old part of Macau, Senado square, Ruins of St. Paul, Mount Fortress, etc. and new Lutus shaped Gran Lisboa hotel & Wynn Casino.
You can feel historical part of Macau.

A great budget hotel. For those looking for a cheap stay in Macau just for a place to crash, go for it.

The rooms are great and well kept. Quite spacious.

No breakfast with the rooms I took but I could make do with my own food.

The best part is the location. Its in the heart of Macau peninsula. Very close to the ferry terminal and all the attractions and casinos in the peninsula.

They even have a shuttle from the ferry terminal.

Highly recommended for budget travellers who want a great place to stay.

Free wifi in the lobby with reasonable signal in your room at times.

The room was very clean and comfortable. For a couple, there was more than enough space and the \"double\" bed we pre-requested was in fact a huge king-sized one! Very nice! The room was also very quiet and we both got a great night's sleep. We could walk to all the main tourist spots like St Paul's ruins, the fort, etc and there was a major set of bus stops on the street behind the hotel so moving farther afield was also easy. There were two or three Chinese-style eateries next door to the hotel which made finding meals quite handy, but if you wanted something else cuisine-wise then you were out of luck and there seemed to be nothing around. Check-in was slow but check-out was fast, plus we were allowed late check-out (an extra hour) with no fuss at all. The free shuttle bus to the ferry was also convenient and fast. We would happily stay there again.

Well, the hotel itself is not outstanding. There is also definitely a language barrier, which I experienced less of with some of the more major hotels. The best part of this place is the restaurant inside. We had the buffet in the morning. If you can split a nicer room at the hard rock or Wynn or one of the other major hotels, I would do that

The hotel provided shuttle bus to the ferry terminal which is very convenient for everyone. Although its location is a bit far from the attractions around, we can easily get buses or taxi to move around at low cost. The staff there are friendly & helpful. We surely will come back again in future.

We were there in winter, it was quite cold in the room, luckily we discovered that the hotel had a sauna and a steamroom and a heated spa. Spending time in the sauna helped us avoid the flu everyone around us seemed to be having.
We used public buses to get to the ferry, to the casinos, to the Macau tower, to the center of city. The buses only cost 3.25 in local currency which is approximately 30 cents US.

In my early 60's, travelling alone and female and felt completely safe at this hotel. Staff were helpful and always found someone who could speak English if I had a query. Great central location, large room, beautiful breakfast at the 2nd floor cafe. Only detail that needs watching is that no-one outside the ferry terminal knows where to wait for the free shuttle bus to the hotel. Just stand and wait, it does turn up every 30 mins but does not pull into one of the parking bays but Metropark hotel is clearly written on the side of the small shuttle bus. Recommend to single female travelers.

Smoking room after non-smoking request, GROSS!

They gave a smoking room instead of the non-smoking requested because they gave me a king bed instead of the requested double and to get me back into a double only remaining was smoking. Not sure if this is the mistake of hotels.com for miscommunication or the mistake of Metropark for booking me wrong but I am the one that suffered even though I requested properly. That is very frustrating because smoking rooms are gross, especially in China or its special provinces like Macau. Please do better next time guys.

OK Hotel for 2-3 Nights

Metropark Hotel is well located in Central Macau and walking distance to the ruins of St Paul and the Square etc.
The rooms are tired and dated and while all is functional, you will yearn for something better if your stay here is longer than 2 nights.
The bathrooms are dim and the exhaust inadequate. The tea making facility is for Chinese tea only. No sugar, no milk, no normal tea. Internet (free) is available only in the lobby.
However the bed was great. We had a super size king that was warm, dry and comfortable.
The is no view from any floor below 17, so ask for something higher.
We enjoyed our 2 nights here - but would stay elsewhere if we did return to Macau.

Restaurants on the first and second floor are of average standard only . As there are many good restaurants nearby, there is no problem for getting some nice food.

Reasonable with rate...

The room is just nice for our family. No casino inside this hotel...but Rio Casino is just near by by walking distance. Good housekeeping and bell service. Only allow 15 minutes to online at the lobby, for internet in room need to pay HK30. Good point is, hotel provide shuttle service from / to Ferry terminal on every 30minutes. Bellman also allow us to keep our luggages after check out from the hotel. Should provide daily news paper to room.

The room and facilities are ok.

The room and facilities are ok. However, there was no wifi available in the room. You will have to go to their lobby to avail of the internet services and you have to pay HK$ 40 per hour. The computer being used was a low end one (pentium 4) and it will take you 5 to 10 min to access the website. Moreover the computer was hanging during access and you have to restart over and over again. I complained to the supervisor/oic during that time and he immediately refunded my payment. Suggest that they provide internet/wifi in all the rooms to attract more customers. It is already 2010 and coffee shops are able to provide wifi for free, why can't hotel do the same.

Excellent location as the hotel

Excellent location as the hotel is centrally sited near the casionos. It is within walking distance to the shopping area too. However, the operating hours of the hotel's shuttle bus could be extended to say 2200h instead of the last service from the pier at 2120h. Overall, a pleasant stay of 3.5 nights at the Metropark.
