Good hotel with no real complaints. Cigar lounge a brilliant touch, restaurant was excellent! But the hotel rooms need upgraded if they want to drive value for both clients and stake holders. Investment in property is visibly missing!

The hotel is really nice but I believe the five star depends on what you paid for. We stayed in the East tower in a room with ocean view but no balcony which is not as great as the rooms next to us that had that feature. Windows do open which is nice. The staff are helpful and polite. Housekeeping did a great job. I am not much of a pool person but on the one day I entered the main pools, both were heated which is strange to me.
Also, the hotel is located on a rocky part of the beach so no access. The street is busy with hotels and some restaurants and pretty safe.

Worth it! Beautiful hotel.
I was concerned about the price; however, the staff, location, and amenities make it feel worth it. Everyone was respectful and welcoming. If you’re used to an all-inclusive this hotel is not that experience. It’s also not a 5 star hotel but a good entry point into that experience. Everything is expensive but you’re paying for the location and experience. My biggest complaint: my bathtub was not clean and I think the initial daily deposit is too high. Outdoor pool and hot tub made me forget that I overpaid to stay here.

It's a beautiful looking location and hotel. They host events for weddings and proms and as nice as that is it does cause more foot traffic especially from people who may run through knocking on doors and such. I liked the friendly staff and for the most part they were very tentative. The daily room re stock wasn't exactly as they described and I saw some big brown secada looking bug in a bathroom but it's nature so I can't hold it against the hotel. I would recommend the hotel and the staff and I do plan to stay there again as my 1st choice hotel but I will be comparing them to a few other high end ones so stay tuned.

I stayed in one of the suites, the Butler service was not always consistent which came with the room. The housekeeping staff was amazing! I stayed in room 462 which had an Ocean view and on the other porch a city/Ocean view. There are roosters and will wake you up at 3 AM, there was also people who use that park and play loud music till two and 3 o’clock in the morning which I reported to Security but not much was done. I was there for my son‘s wedding which was held at the Vanderbilt. What I found pretty Shystie after paying $15,000 for flowers the very next morning I want to go to collect a few and bring some of them to my room but they were setting up for another event. I asked them if I could go and get some of the flowers to take home and to put in my room and they told me that these were not the flowers from the night before kind of odd… Seeing it was 8 o’clock in the morning they were in the same centerpieces and everything. So if you wanna save some flowers from a wedding that you may be at get it that day because the next morning the staff will tell you that they are not yours and that therefore another event. So our $15,000 flowers were also used for another event! But I guess that’s how they make their money which is pretty awful and dishonest.

This property is outstanding! It is beautiful and well maintained. You really never have to leave the property because the amenities are so wonderful. The entire place is cleaned ongoing and the staff is attentive; you want for nothing. We dined at every one of the restaurants and the spirits and food are superb. The four pools and hot tub were relaxing. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were comfortable. Let alone the cleaning staff attended to your every need graciously. Well worth the price. We will be going back!

I normally don’t judge hotels based on the service since the service everywhere has become so nonexistent, but the service here was truly outstanding. Everyone was helpful and respectful and professional. The room was cleaned and refreshed twice a day with chocolates offered at night. They even setup your pool chairs. Really well done. Except for the Ritz Carlton, the only place I’ve stayed recently that maintained the decorum one would expect of a serious hotel.

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and champagne - and quickly escorted to our ocean view suite. We decided to stay on property our first day, and ate at OVA after getting settled into our stylish comfortable suite. Our server Glorimar was so friendly and attentive and made us feel at home right from the start. Every staff member had a smile and was attentive and friendly, and seemed to enjoy helping guests feel pampered. Hats off to the housekeeping staff for keeping our suite clean and stocked up with snacks. We had a chance to chat with our daytime housekeeper Lisaber, and she was so friendly - and even gave us tips about local beaches to visit.

The property had every amenity you could imagine. We ate and drank on site and played in the various pools for the majority of our stay - and just really had a great time. The pools were large and clean and not overcrowded. The vistas from the pools and balcony are embedded in my mind forever, but we will absolutely come back again. 5 stars!

Our stay at the Condado Vanderbilt was truly exceptional from start to finish. As someone with 30+ years in the hospitality and food and beverage industries, and as someone married to a chef, I have high expectations when it comes to service, dining, and the overall guest experience — and the Vanderbilt exceeded every one of them.

Every detail was thoughtful, every need was anticipated, and we honestly had no complaints. The twice-a-day room cleaning was such a wonderful touch and made our stay feel even more luxurious and cared for.

We especially want to mention Michael and Diego at the pool and beach, who made our days by the water so enjoyable. They were attentive, kind, and made us feel completely taken care of.

Our dinner at 1919 was unforgettable. Eugenio, the sommelier, made the beverage pairings feel special and personal. Alexander did an amazing job explaining the food and making each course even more meaningful, and William, our head table waiter, was outstanding. Every bite of food and every beverage we had was absolutely amazing.

We also had the most relaxing day at the spa. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and treated with such care, professionalism, and genuine hospitality that the entire experience felt incredibly special.

The concierge team was exceptional, sending us wonderful recommendations for places to eat and drink around the city and helping arrange our rainforest outing. We also loved having access to the amenities at the two sis

Food was pretty good if you like the Michelin star vibe….tiny portions/large price… but dress code and decorum for such a fine restaurant was not enforced which detracted from our good time. Allowing patrons to wear Tshirts/basketball shorts/baseball hats/crocs is disrespectful to the other guests imo.

Vanderbilt hotel, too expensive for what they offer. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Resort fees (!!) for what reason? Room fit and finish wad pointing to a 2-3 star hotel. Noisy area around it. You will not get a quiet relaxing experience, from weird bird calling at night (all night) to leaf blower going on at 6.30 -7 am daily.

We had an amazing getaway at the Condado Vanderbilt. I a so glad we chose this property! The room was better than expected - we were in the older building and did not have a water view. However, the room was in great shape, beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was much bigger than expected. I appreciated all the drawers and two closets- lots of space to unpack! The staff was outstanding! Every single staff person I interacted with was fantastic. The housekeeping staff went above and beyond. We really enjoyed all the amenities in the room. We also enjoyed the pool, gym, and restaurants. It was an easy Uber ride to Old San Juan - plus easy to walk to restaurants near by. Definetly recommend this hotel!

The room was cleaned and refreshed everyday. The hallways smelled delightful. Staff was very accommodating.

My only complaint is that we found during turn down service, a mini bottle of our liquor was stolen. I didnt complain to the front desk, I just requested that we not have turn down service anymore during our stay.

Other than that, I would recommend this hotel, just lock all your stuff up.

The Condado Vanderbilt is a beautiful hotel in a great location. There were two excellent restaurants within two blocks of the hotel. It was easy to get from the airport and to the hotel, and from the hotel to Old San Juan (only about 2.5 miles away). The beach was accessible and there were chairs and umbrellas provided by the hotel there. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Whether the requirements of a 5 star hotel differ in the Americas compared to Europe/Middle East etc, I'm not sure, but this is not a 5 star hotel where you will receive 5 star service.

We were unable to dine at one of the hotel's restaurants as they only had one high chair, and said they were unable to source another one. Asked if we could reserve for the next evening to ensure a high chair was available, we were told it was not possible as they couldn't guarentee their one high chair would be available (rather than ensure one was available).

Put a request in that the room be made up by 2pm to ensure my kids could return from their day out to have a nap. This request was not actioned, with typical times to make the room up around 3pm each day (quite late I feel).

Breakfast was adequate- tipping is required even if breakfast is included in the rate, but that is a culture issue so can't complain about that.

Room was not ready at 4pm and I was told to provide my mobile number and I would be called when ready. No offer of what to do in the meantime or indication of when the room would be ready. Only when I pushed back did was the room suddenly available.

This is my 4th time at this hotel and Im sad to say it might be my last. This hotel used to be a wonderful and lovely place and it felt high-end but it needs smart modernizing. The restaurant menus are lacking and dated. The rooms, in the surface, look pristine but there are hard water stains, unvacuumed carpet and a coffee maker that cannot be plugged in. Its just not worth the price and it is incredibly pricey.

It is a nice hotel with great location, I enjoyed my stay, but they were not always on top with housekeeping, our room wasn't cleaned every day and we had to call housekeeping at least twice to have the room made up and/or get more fresh towels. We also went down to their tacos restaurant one night for dinner and service was very slow and food took over an hour to come out even though it was not busy or peak dinner hour.

But…mixed staff, some delightful, some should not be working in a five star hotel, in particular one of the female hosts at the oceanfront restaurant ( really pool-front restaurant ). Sullen appearance and bossy. Failed to get coffees in bar/lounge after 39 minutes. Had to complain, no manager on duty! They were comped but that was’t the point. Soundproofing from corridors poor. Would not stay there again. Disappointing end to our vacation.

This is my second time at the Vanderbilt after 12 years. I came because I remember the excellent service and beautiful hotel common areas. Service this time did not disappoint - impecable. Every employee you interact with actively engages, looks at you in the eye, and offers help above and beyond. Pool staff is incredible. They follow you with towels and ensure you are setup comfortably. Please note there is indeed beach access but you have to walk a tiny bit to the side towards their sister property, La Concha hotel. This is not very clear and the only minus is that we were not told there is beach access and we just assumed we just had a pool and an ocean view. As usual with these high end hotels, you always get hit with 'hotel/resort' fees in the end but definitely worth the money.

Pool was not heated. There was no poolside food. Therefore, you had to go to the bar and order food and continuously check back to see if your food was ready. These are, of course, in the grand scheme of things more of an inconvenience rather than any true deficit, but for the price point, you pay for convenience.

the aesthetics were beautiful. to note, the walls are thin, and I could hear a couple next-door having sex. my toilet leaked so I just threw towels at the side of the toilet and got cleaning service every day.

We experienced an issue accessing our room after returning from the pool. Because the double connecting doors would not sync properly, our key would not connect, and we were left standing outside waiting for assistance. This was inconvenient and uncomfortable, especially after being in the pool. I recommend checking the door system to prevent this from happening to other guests.

With the many 5 star resorts we could have stayed at, this was not the best pick for a family. The sheets were thin rough and the pillows flat. Our suite was not cleaned on a regular schedule, for context we went out on a planned excursion (left early came back around dinner time) and the suite was untouched. When booking we always look for family friendly so we were beyond surprised to see the only hot tub was in the adults only area and although our children are in the upper teens it is not appropriate for adults to be rubbing on each other in a public space. Thankfully we brought our our toiletries as those were not replaced the entire 6 day stay despite my daughter using them on day 1. The food was below standard for a resort, for context we ordered room service one day food was Applebee’s quality, ate at the ola several times, the brunch was okay, expected more fresh fruits as it is an island but only papayas, watermelon, melon. The pool area for “families” is crowded with the one salt water pool always full and the larger pool empty due to the colder temperatures of the water. We ate at STK, this was the best meal we had but with a $900 price tag for a family of four it should have been excellent. We will not stay here on our next adventure but rather look at all the reviews. We were in Miami a few weeks ago and everything this hotel missed the W gets right, perhaps ownership management should look to add in fruit juices, mocktails, and light pool options for snacks.

Excellent hotel. The rooms are clean and smelling good. The personal is very attentive and friendly. My husband and I visit the comfort suite at least 4 times per year and the experience is always great. We love the breakfast.
