Easy to find, access code keys, close to a lot of restaurants, was clean inside, modern bathroom. Messaging is easy to use - we had a room without towels and they switched us to a new room in a few minutes.

Cons:
Bathroom is a tripping hazard
There is a one inch difference between the bathroom tile and bedroom tile. VERY easy to hit your foot into it, trip, etc. NOT fun

Very small, we stayed one night but longer than that would be difficult with how little space there is.

The neighborhood is quite loud (you can hear music and cars throughout the night) not good for light sleepers. The wifi didn’t work.

Overall, fine for a brief stay but it’s VERY minimal. It’s relatively cheap but I would expect even cheaper for what it is. We were able to find street parking but something to keep in mind if you’re driving here. It’s cheap to take ubers from here to most places.

Please book elsewhere! This establishment was far from pictures advertised! It’s in a terrible neighborhood. My daughter and i did not feel safe! Our room had wet sheets and pillows, we contacted staff and there were no housekeeper or room attendant on site. it was an awful experience all around. Now i’m having a hard time receiving a refund although we did not stay in this property and all the fraudulent things this property has done. false advertising, terrible service and mediocre hosting.

If you have kids this isn’t a place to book. There are no refrigerators or microwaves. The power shut off and there was no WiFi for like the next two days of our trip. No one answers the phone but may respond on booked website. The room smelled old and the front of the building presentation was horrible. Nothing like the photos online. There was human poop in front of the building. They ran out of rags and towels. If you coming to vacay over 2 days and with kids I wouldn’t recommend.

It was difficult getting into the building. Because they don’t give you the code to the main door to the building. It’s in the “hood” so they falsely advertised that they’re so close to la concha resort. Not true it’s a 20 minute drive to the beach front resort La concha and there’s no bar there nobody on the site except the house keepers in the morning. And we couldn’t leave our room once we did gain access because they wouldn’t get back to us on the message contact website to let us know how to lock our room back up they simply said it’s ok you don’t have to lock it just leave it like that. What?? Are you kidding me we were not the only people in the building and no I’m not leaving my stuff unattended. The rooms are nice and clean I appreciate that. But in a horrible location!

I personally wouldn’t stay again. They did upgrade my room after the first rooms AC was not working n the first night we barely slept we were so hot. The second room was much better. For me I wouldn’t stay again, cuz i lost a night of going out, I had to cancel my Uber after he arrived because the machanic locks on the door would not lock from the outside and no one was available for the night to come and fix it. They arrived at 9:30am to fix it. Which also annoyed me because our text messages the night before, i mentioned more than once that i needed to be out the room by 9am to arrive on time for breakfast before our ferry ride. We never made it to breakfast, but mafe it on time to ferry. If you come back to the room between 9pm-2am Parking is almost impossible as this Poshtel is very close to a party scene that is very live and poppin if that’s ur thing. If you have a front facing room and are a light sleeper be aware you will here everything. Music, motorbikes, cop sirens, people walking u n down the streets. At night you will also find older men sitting on the steps doing whatever they do, they don’t bother you and are actually friendly but they do hang out there right by the door so just be cautious of your surroundings. There is no fridge or microwave so make sure to have a cooler in ur room with ice for drinks.

El lugar es bueno para resolver,pero lo que si notamos es que no se enfocan mucho en la limpieza , la ducha de baño tenia manchas de moho,y tambien me percate que debajo de las sabanas y las fundas de almuada tenian manchaa negras de moho, tambien es un lugar de 3 pizos y no cuenta con elevador si ni con escaleras, el parking es malisimo porque esta en una zona de bares ,pero si buscas para resolver te sirve...

This was exactly what I needed for one night. The room was clean and easily accessible upon arriving. The bed was comfy nice sheets and great quilt. The a/c was amazing lol the room was very cold when I walked in. They provided towels and a few extras in the bathroom.

it was a very nice stay, only down side is that me and my friend booked a room with a private bathroom, but ended up getting a shared hotel room (with locked doors) and a shared bathroom. as gals it would’ve been nice to know we are sharing a room with a few people but it was okay by the end of it. i will say bring shower shoes because they don’t clean the shower at all. there are homeless who do some stuff outside the hotel but just mind your own buisness and they won’t bother you. There is no parking but plenty of public parking. Ubers from there to la placita, old san juan and many other places are cheap as it is right in the middle. A broom would be a nice add on due to the beach and the sand you track in. i recommend booking it on expedia, we had to help someone off airbnb and he couldn’t get in, got sent no info. our check in was fairly easy. a group of girls booked a double bed room and got a small 50 sq ft room. it is a risk to book but it’s amazing for the price and you get what u pay for.

When I arrived in the hotel the AC was on but It was not working.I tried to get in contact with the hotel number and staff and no one answered.I also left a message to see if anyone could help me ot even change room since it was very hot and nothing.My wife and I was very disappointed and we sleeped in a very hot room after a long trip.I would not recommend people to stay in the hotel since no one was helpful.All the numbers and yet no response to get a better service.I will not come back.The bathroom was not private as it stated on the app when I reserved it.I felt I was not getting what I searched for.

Room was clean for most part. Sheets and towels had stains. The first day we only had two bath towels and no wash cloths. We asked for some but because there isn’t on site staff- we couldnt get any until the next day. The room doesn’t come with any little amenities like an iron, blow dryer ect. We only had a small amount of toilet paper. There is no parking, and It’s hard to find. There are homeless/ addicts that sleep at the front entrance (I got a little scared because the man took awhile to move). The cleaning woman was extremely loud one morning. Her conversation woke us up. The room doesn’t have blackout curtains so between the noise from the woman, the rooster and the sunlight- we couldn’t sleep. I’m not sure If this a real safety issue but there are exposed electrical wires/ boxes in the main entrance. I thought I seen a bar advertised but there wasn’t one. BUT there was a bed (no flat sheet), and nice AC, a shower and a bath tub, and it’s very walkable- beach, food, drinks, shopping.

Housekeeping was very nice and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Room was clean. Tv and air conditioning worked great. There is only street parking but a lot is walking distance. I never had a hard time finding parking around the hotel. Communication through the app was prompt and helpful. I would absolutely stay again !!

I definitely felt a bit deceived by the images posted. The downstairs bar was never open. The sheets had stains on them. By 10:20am housekeeping was knocking on the door stating its check-out time (check-out is at 11:00am).

If you are just seeking a budget friendly, little to no amenities, a place to crash, near a few local/fun restaurants and bars within walking distance. Then you'll be ok with La Calma.

- No elevator and narrow “one person at a time” stairs. Don’t travel with a lot of luggage
- Poor water pressure in shower
- Sketchy neighborhood/street
- Strong smell of urine and had a homeless guy as welcoming committee
- Loud cars and motorcycles up and down the street at night
- Don’t see a karaoke bar not sure why they have a picture of one. Actually there’s a garage type door associated with a bar, but it’s shuttered and locked to ground.
- Room with sofa bed where bed didn’t open all the way because it hit the opposite wall. Had to shift the sofa 90 degrees to open bed.
- Mattress on sofa bed looked like it was borrowed from local jail
- No socket in the bathroom
- Honestly if you’re staying for one night and don’t care about what I wrote above, and it’s the cheapest room around, then book it. But buyer beware.
- IMO dish out a little more and get a true hotel. For the amount they charge you can get a better place for an extra $30-$50 a night.

This is the worst place we have ever stayed. It was dirty, and there were only two towels for two people. I couldn't sleep all night because a couple was fighting and screaming. I tried to contact the owner, but he didn't respond until the next day. Right in front of the hotel, there were drunk people sleeping. Please, do not stay here—it is the worst place.

Very basic room. While it was sufficient for a single night prior to our cruise, it is definitely not something suitable for a longer stay. A lot of noise from the street (stayed on a Saturday) as well as thin walls/hearing conversations from the room next door.
My suggestion for the management is this: A few acoustic panels placed around the room to dampen sound, a mini fridge, hair dryer and a couple of bottles of water would really help take this from a basic room tolerable for a single night stay to something much more welcoming.
Also, have sheet already on the bed instead of the guest out it on takes minimal effort but looks nicer than having it sitting on top of the bed.

Horrible customer service!! Upon arrival we couldn't get in our room bc the code wasn't working. I called their number, texted and emailed, no one returned any of my messages until the following afternoon. You have people sleeping and smoking crack right infront of the entrance gate and there are NO camera's infront of the property which is unsafe. Our Uber drivers would wait for us to get inside the front gate before they drove off. They have a No music or noise policy that starts at 10pm, yet no one follows it bc there is No one there to enforce it. If you don't care about sleep, this is definitely for you, also you are down the block from the bars so it does get very loud esp. Thursday through Sunday. There is only 2 spots for breakfast and that's a win or lose depending on the day. If you dont mind walking about 15 mins, you will find Burger King, Walmart, Dollar store, Walgreens, plus coffee shops.
We paid extra for our room and private outdoor shower which I liked bc it was different. The water was barely hot at times and pressure was weak. The king size bed was very comfortable and the cleaning ladies were very nice.
The Palmas restaurant down the block had amazing food but it tends to get very loud and if you sit outside prepare yourself for the homeless to come to you and beg for money. The girl with the glasses and afro was very rude, she left us at her table outside for 40 mins, never bothered to take our order, we had a long day so we decided to go inside the

When we got there the hallways were dirty, rooms had only the bare minimum, no toiletries, the towels looked used and were very hard, and i couldn’t sleep. I heard gun shots and cops. We preferred to leave at 12m there was a bum in front when we where coming out pulling on his

The room was clean but very small. Although we did get entry codes into the hotel and our room in a timely manner and we did have a number to phone in case we had problems the hotel doesnt have staff on the premises.
The hotel is not in the best area of town. Restaurants are scarce.
Prior to our arrival we sent numerous emails and tried to call the managers/owners. The phone mail box was full. They never did answer our emails.
We only stayed one night at the hotel. A one night stay is maybe ok but we wouldn't recommend this hotel for a long-term stay.

The Room was nice and clean very simple and perfect for one night.. The location is horrible nothing like the pictures shown… I traveled by myself and did not feel comfortable walking into the building. There’s no front desk therefore communication was thru a telephone number that no one answered. A/C was very good… T.V. Couldn’t connect to network using the network name and password that was text to me.. I was really disappointed cause I’ve stayed in places less money and the pictures and location are on point.

We never checked in because the exterior and the location looked horrible!!! Trash on the sidewalk at the entrance of the property!
We didn’t even bother going in as we we could see bags of what seemed to be trash behind the metal entrance gate/door.
We had the Uber driver take us straight to a different hotel!
I have dealt with Expedia for many years, this is the first time my husband and I have been so disappointed.
We’re so sorry for wasting our money!

This is literally the last place anyone should ever stay at. It was crazy how they even send you suggestions of bars and when you go look the bars are full of homeless people, people so intoxicated they can’t even stand straight. Not forget to mention that all those same people are just hanging around at the front door where you need to go to get inside. Anyone can easily see the code and get in. They give you two codes to get inside to the room but the door is wide open you don’t know what has happened in that room. BEWARE WOMEN!!!!! If you are a woman coming to this place TURN AROUND!!!! There was also a big whole in the wall like someone punch it. This has to be the worst place to stay. Please don’t book this hotel.

I am going to give this location 3 stars, by my own standard. But I will explain in great detail.

I feel like I will still give a pretty good star because it was a safe location, good size, convenient, easy directions to get in the gate and online staff w/ good communication.

Unfortunately, the WiFi was not working, so I was unable to watch tv. Which is all I had to really entertain myself that night before my flight.

Lastly, late at night when I went to use the bathroom. I discovered roaches on the bathroom floor and on the shower floor.

To be transparent, I only saw 4 roaches throughout the entire night but it did make me a little anxious as to where else they may be as I tried to fall asleep.

I hope this review helps someone.

I got through the night, it was safe and easy to catch an inexpensive uber to the airport very early the next morning.

I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay, which was booked three weeks in advance under a “Reserve Now, Pay Later” option. Despite the stated policy, I was charged four days prior to arrival without confirmation or access codes. For weeks leading up to the trip, I attempted to contact the property using the email addresses and phone numbers listed. The emails I received were written in Spanish and did not include any access information. The phone numbers provided were international numbers that either did not work without an international plan, rang unanswered, or were disconnected. Even Expedia, acting as a third-party representative, made multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach the property.
I did not receive an email in English with the access code until one hour before my wife landed in Puerto Rico at approximately 9:00 PM, which caused significant stress and uncertainty. Upon arrival, the room was completely unacceptable and unsanitary. The space had a strong odor of sewage, animals (including cats), and outside debris. The room was extremely small and had a long rectangular window with no blind or covering, offering no privacy. The private bathroom was in deplorable condition:
There was no roof over the shower area, and because it was raining, I was unable to shower
Visible urine stains were present on the walls and floorboards
A large spider web was located directly behind the showerhead

Clean, newly renovated building. Unstaffed. No elevator so be ready to carry luggage up skinny staircase. Plenty of hot water. Bedroom was small bathroom was big. Both bedroom annd bathroom are the same size. The double bed took up almost a whole room. There was barely enough room to walk down one side of the bed. I had to put my luggage on top of the Little dresser. And did not leave much room to move around.
I was told by the locals that the neighborhood that was located in is not a good neighborhood. I walked around everywhere 20 minutes back-and-forth to the beach local stores. I even went out to the local bars a block away from this hotel. Did not have anny issue, locals were welcoming. Yes everything is dirty graffiti everywhere and rundown, but that’s pretty much all of Puerto Rico.
