Overall, our experience was pleasant. However, the additional resort charges of $70+ per night felt deceptive when we discovered them at check-in. It became a noticeable topic of conversation among several guests waiting in line. Had these fees been clearly disclosed upfront, I most likely still would have booked the stay. Presenting them in fine print, however, felt disingenuous and left a negative impression.

I recently stayed at the San Juan Marriott Stellaris Hotel & Casino and would give it an overall rating of three stars. It’s a solid property in a great location, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

The hotel advertises a children’s pool, which naturally led me to believe there would also be a separate adults-only pool. That isn’t the case. While there are two pools, they connect, and the entire area is open to guests of all ages. If you’re expecting a quiet adults-only space, you won’t find one here. The overall vibe is lively and social rather than serene. There is also a swim-up bar where guests gathered for activities like bingo, which actually looked like a lot of fun and added to the energetic atmosphere. The atmosphere felt more lively and party-oriented, especially in the afternoons when the music becomes extremely loud — louder than necessary, in my opinion.

On the positive side, the beach setup was very nice. Staff members help you set up chairs, towels, umbrellas, and a small table wherever you’d like along the beach, which was a lovely touch and made the experience feel more upscale.

The room itself was a decent size and perfectly fine, though nothing particularly special. There were a couple of maintenance issues: the sliding bathroom door was difficult to operate and actually came off its track at one point (though to their credit, maintenance fixed it very quickly). The property itself was in an excellent location that had plenty to of restaurant, bars and shopping with in walking distance. The staff was great and the property clean and up to date. The only negative and it is probably because of the time of the year (late January) is the design of the building itself blocks a lot of the sun in the pool area and even parts of the beach. Overall a great property!

We chose this resort for our first trip to Puerto Rico. It is a beautiful, clean resort. Service was top notch! Maria, who works in the hotel lobby bar, was wonderful! She was so helpful, personable, and you can tell she loves what she does! We stayed in an ocean front room with a balcony and the view of the ocean and beach was amazing!! The room size was adequate but the restroom was really small (that is the only complaint we have). There are several good restaurants on site, but is walkable to many local restaurants as well. Di Zucherro across the street has wonderful pizza. There is a Walgreens just around the corner which was convenient for buying snacks and drinks for the room. The pool area was very nice and they have complimentary water and popcorn daily. The beach is very clean and the sand is so soft to walk on.

We loved our stay here and highly recommend this resort!!! We will definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing 4-day stay at the Marriott San Juan Stellaris Hotel. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Diego went above and beyond helping me extend my stay flawlessly, making the process smooth and stress-free. Mercy kept my room immaculate every day — her attention to detail did not go unnoticed.

Carlos at the bar is a great bartender — friendly, professional, and consistently made excellent drinks. The valet team was always quick, efficient, and very professional, which made coming and going effortless.

Overall, the entire staff was amazing and truly made this stay memorable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

They can try to get rid of the RATS that hang out at the pool area , everything else was ok until my husband who is afraid of rats showed me the rats running back and forth from one side of the pool deck to the other side and that’s when all our fun ends, my husband didn’t want to be outside side on the resort anymore , I was very sad and upsetting for both of us. I really like it there but I wouldn’t go back there because of the rats and it cost us almost $1900 and we didn’t enjoy the resort 😢😢

Staff was fantastic and the room and amenities were great. This location is close to many eateries and popular locations. The free popcorn at the pool was delicious and a nice touch. The coffee in the lobby was good.The only thing that wasn't good was the Marijuana smell that seeped into my room and gave me a headache. The room had no, no smoking signs.

The room was clean they mop daily and clean it daily. The staff are excellent everyone of them always smiling willing to help it’s like they read your mind what you need we loved our stay. The food was good drink delecious. The only thing was the way the sun comes up it’s like playing musical chair but it’s not anyone’s fault it’s the way it was situated nevertheless you ask the staff and they will prepare a super nice sunny spot all day at the beach. We wanted our beach chair swapped for different ones we asked and forgot. We went for a swim came back to brand new comfortable chairs they also laid out the towels the way we normally do places our stuff the way they were. We loves that little gesture it made our day. Staff are amazing all of them. Great job hiring and training amazing people and talent.

The location is great, the staff is great, but the main issue we had an the reason for our low rating is that the moment we walked into our room it smelled like mold and mildew. The smell was unbearable and my 3 year old has asthma, which I was worried about. I called the front desk as soon as I noticed this and they said they would send the housekeeper supervisor up to speak to me. She was very sweet. I asked if they could just switch out rooms since I was worried about my 3 year olds asthma being triggered by this and let alone the smell was unbearable. She said they were at full capacity, but could offer to bring in a dehumidifier to see if that would help and she would check in with me. They brought the machine up ASAP. Yes, the machine helped, but it was only while the machine was running and as soon as it was off, we could smell it again, so obviously this was only a bandaid fix to the real issue. They ended up leaving the machine for about 3 nights and we left it on. I figured we weren't going to stay in the room for most of our stay, but still was inconvenient. They ended up taking the machine out for our last 2 nights and the smell again was not great! I just didn't want to spend my trip arguing!! The staff was really sweet, but I also noticed these dehumidifiers in the lobby area one day and you can also smell the musty smell once you get off the elevator on floor 10, so they definitely have a mold/mildew problem that should be addressed ASAP!!!

Beach and grounds were amazing. Lots of food and entertainment options. Easily walkable. Room was mediocre- terrible mold smell coming from room with visible black mold in bathroom. No room switch was available because there were no comparable rooms and wouldn’t give an upgrade or refund for downgrade.
