Place is under construction, you can leave and return the premises anytime, sometimes you see staff but most of the time nobody’s around. Very close to the beach and Marriott is very close if you want to enjoy casino or breakfast buffet. Full of restaurants close by with 24-hour shops (2) that’s very close.

El empleado que nos atendió en el check in excelente súper amable.Me toco el cuarto 101 súper amplio y limpio la cama cómoda.como algo que deberían trabajar es en el patio de entrada cómo darle una buena remodelacióncita nada fancy.el estacionamiento pues el lugar no tiene pero cómo nos explicó el de front desk hay varias opciones,una si es por varias horas en frente hay un estacionamiento por horas,otra es a la vuelta de la calle buscar en la calle(no muy recomendable)difícil conseguir lugar.por último en el Marriot pagar el valet parking $25+tax por 24 hrs que fue mi opción por las noches.la localización perfecta,puedes caminar a bares y restaurantes cerca y la playa.lo recomiendo si solo es para ir el que quiera solo estar en el área y solo a dormir.

I arrived on a late night flight and got to the hotel which is on a dark side street about 11:00 p.m. The hotel was shuttered and appeared to be closed. There was a sign directing me to another hotel around the corner. The man at that hotel was not helpful. After persistent, he finally agreed to rebook me at another related hotel in Ocean Park. That hotel and staff were very nice. I had to pay for another taxi and it was very disturbing to think I might not have a place to stay during tourist season. Would not recommend.

By far the worst hotel I’ve been to. The hotel was under construction and the whole place was filled with dust, which exacerbated my asthma. Me and my girlfriend didn’t even stay a night and had to book another hotel somewhere else. The hotel refused to refund my money even though the conditions weren’t livable. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

YES, ALL OF ABOVE. The start of our stay in Casa del Carribe:
Front gate & building was open and no-one in sight. It looked like an abandoned building. Everything looked disarray & neglected. Remants of rugs in hallway. Paint on floors, smelled like mold and very musty.
Fallen leaves were everywhere.
We lost power 3 nights in a row. Plus we have pictures & videos to collaborate all the above. We called the main number on our first night of power outage & we were told that there was nothing that they can do- we asked about a generator that we heard working but no power to the room only for emergency lights . Without power the rooms became hot & humid without ac. We were told to wait it out. The place was under construction & it's being done poorly. The bathroom floor full of grout, the plate was missing from the hot/cold handle so you can see into the other rooms bathroom. I can see the workers & hear them working in the other room. It was very uncomfortable.
My husband looked up the facility to see what the advertisement was, at no point in the advertisement did they say the facility was under renovation.
When somebody came from the other facility to let us into our room, the first thing out of their mouth was,
Nobody told you we were under renovation, we said no. The pictures on the advertisement were from at least 15 years ago. When the place was pristine and that's what we've made our judgment on unfortunately, this place chose making money over being honest.

There was nobody at the property to check me in when I arrived and waited for and hour. To find somebody you had to go to a different property, with luggage, and back you the property you booked. The room was full of mosquitos. For days tv did not work because of remote control problems - I had to go to a”the different property repeatedly to summon somebody to fix it. The building is undergoing renovation, the room’s renovation was not finished, it was just partially ready. The toilet was not properly attached and moved under you. In the shower the water stood and did not go into the drain because of wrongly laid tile. A generator at the neighboring property roared starting at 6 in the morning so it was impossible to sleep. I am pretty sure there were bats in the roof: I heard pretty loud noises characteristic of bat infestation which did not allow to sleep. It was cheap though, great location and Eddie , an administrator, came from the other property and tried to fix things.

To start we had told them our arrival time and we got there the front door was locked (early evening) with instructions to go to another property to get someone.
The room was dirty, very outdated, the toilet rocked, shower floor was filthy.
We stayed 2 nights and never saw any front desk staff at any time of the day.
The fotos posted on Hotels.com are totally misleading!!! Really felt I was staying on a set of a horror movie! Do not waste your money on this place, probably one of the worst places I have ever stayed and I travel all over the world

Staff was nice and Daniel was friendly but room was horrendous! There was a closet with no doors or rod to hang clothes so, no where to hang clothes. No dresser so, no where to put clothes. No hooks in bathrooms either so, no where to hang robes. There was a brand new tv but, not registered so tv was inoperable too! No where to put your suitcase and the safe was dirty and dingy and did not look like it was safe either. Was very run down. In desperate need of a face lift. Only positive is was close to restaurant and beach. Thank God we stayed there just for one night. I hate to do reviews like this but can’t help but to help others to know what they are getting themselves into if you book here. I know I would want to spare myself the misery.

First when I arrived at the property no one answer there'll at the gate. I called a number that was printed on a piece of paper taped to the gate, and wast told that I need to walk 2 blocks to a different property. I told the person that I had just to an Uber to the property that I reserved because I had 4 pieces of luggage. Hi simply said take a taxi or wait and they will pick me up. Finally someone arrived on foot to takes to the other place, so we had to walk 2 blocks with all of our luggage. BTW, there was never an apology offered. When we got to the place we were told that we were getting an upgrade. The worst upgrade that we have received, a dirty room, smelly, in front of a kitchen and a very dirty bathroom. Do not recommend Casa del Caribe nor Canario Boutique Hotel. Cero disregard for their guests.

I do not recommend this hotel.

Positives:
- Staff at the front desk were responsive
- Courtyard is nice

Negatives:
- Lots of mosquitoes in the hallways
- Air conditioner smelled very musty for a few minutes each time we turned it on and wasn't very effective
- Very small room, no power outlets in the bathroom
- Bathroom flooded from beneath the floorboards one night
- Water temperature in the shower fluctuated wildly every 1-3 minutes during every shower

the tv didnt work and the manager stated he would come take a look but never did, the shower dripped water so i couldnt take a shower before my flight, the sink didnt drain, there was no one available to help carry luggage up several flights of stairs. i would not recommend this hotel. the family owns 4 more in the area so be careful

I booked a hotel on a side street but got \"upgraded\" to a different location without my consent on a main road. Air conditioning was loud and blew directly onto the bed. You could hear the street noise very clearly. Motorcycles and cars would wake me up in the night. The staff were rude and unhelpful. It was almost impossible to find parking. It's a pretty property right next to the beach, but I still wouldn't recommend unless you have a very low bar when it comes to hotel stays.

The place is a family style hotel. Eddy at the front desk is great and very welcoming. He is always eager and willing to answer any questions you may have. It is located in a great and very accessible area. This hotel is very old school and is a good place to just put your head down and shower since it is very small. Although we were given one of the biggest rooms it wasn’t as spacious for two people so keep that in mind when booking. Other than that we enjoyed our stay here.

It was stink it smelled like wet rug and mold even opening up the window did not air out the Oder, pillow cases had mold from water dropping stains my $300 Mackage jacket was damaged from hanging it in the closet at my exit the back was all stained up looking as if there was a leak in the closet as well. Upon arrival the stay was not at casa del caribe inn that was an abandoned location we was then taken to another spot called canario boutique hotel that was false advertisement from the beginning right there.

Eddy was the absolute best! Got a call upon arrival to let us know we would be staying at the sister hotel because this one is under renovations. Our toilet wasn’t working right when we arrived so he gave us a different room ( upgraded). He was so extremely friendly and it became the highlight of our days to hangout with him in the lobby! Made sure we were happy with our experience at the hotel and even walked us to la placita at night to make sure we made it safely! Would absolutely come back! Thanks so much Eddy!

So first things first this was not what I paid for the hotel was shut done so we were moved to a sister location with no notice at all. First could not find any parking finally called the number on the door was directed to park some where 3 blocks away..given a key went to our room no coffee pot or coffee tv did not work for 2 nights taking a shower and did not need to use cold because the hot water did not get hot enough then the drain got clogged up. The room had no coffee pot no microwave no refrigerator was told we could use the main kitchen that had a community refrigerator. Eddie was one of the associates was veey nice and did his best to fix the tv. I will say i will never recommend this place even for short visits. The parking was ridiculous we drove around each night for 30 minutes teying to find parking I had knee replacement and it took a toll on me with having yo walk so far.

The place was close to the beach and walkable. Many restaurants nearby. Upon arrival there was no one available to greet me. Personnel was at another location working from there. Wifi was horrible. Upon returning to my room one evening there was a man exercising outside my room for over two hours.No staff available to complain to. All restaurants in the Condado area were expensive. I call this a tourist trap. One may prefer staying over at Isla Verde or any other location outside of San Juan.

I was a bit annoyed due to the fact they made me wait outside for over 20 minutes to check in and my daughter was attacked by mosquitoes but the gentleman was very apologetic. I wanted to rent a place owned by a Puerto Rican and this was it. I have to admit the place outside and their courtyard is very cute island vibe but the halls and rooms were a bit creepy but the kindness of the employees especially the older man I think Eddie was his name offsets the look. Since it was just my daughter and myself I got a room with 1 bed and it was perfect for us. I would rent again just because the staff are so nice and attentive.

I love that it’s not a chain hotel, the staff is welcoming & friendly. We had fresh towels and sheets daily, the room was a nice size and it’s comfortable to be in. The AC worked and we slept comfortably every night. We heard the coquis at night which personally I loved. They have a water dispenser on site as well as an ice machine. I felt super safe here. We were close to everything, specially the beach. It’s nice to be able to wake up and walk to the beach whenever you want. The food places close by are really good. Also being close to 24hrs Walgreens and pharmacy come in handy. I’d recommend this place 100% my Bf and I would love to go back. I’m hoping to be able to go back next year.

The woman checking me in was extremely slow. After 15 minutes of her trying to figure out how to check me in, I noticed she was texting. I said no wonder this is taking so long. The check in process took a half an hour. She was rude and clearly doesn’t belong in the hospitality business

A Convenient Stay in Condado, San Juan

We just returned from a trip to Puerto Rico and wanted to share our experience at my 2nd stay at the Casa del Caribe Inn. I saw some of the other reviews and while I understand that the experience might not be for everyone, I had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

The inn is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Condado and just a short walk from the beach, restaurants, church, and malls accessible by Uber. The atmosphere is charming and feels very authentic, which was a big part of the appeal for me. I went there to get away and truly felt at home. While there were a few things I might have wished for—a pool would have been a great addition, in room min-fridge/microwave, and minor repair these were minor details. I knew what I was booking and that I had the option to stay at a larger, more traditional hotel if I wanted the full resort experience.

Ultimately, the Casa del Caribe Inn is a great choice if you're looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-located place to stay without the high price tag. It's a wonderful value and a great base for exploring all that Condado has to offer. I had no significant concerns and would recommend it to other travelers who appreciate a more local feel.

Eddy was the only positive of our stay! He is amazing! We came back to our room twice to it being unlocked and many times without our bed being cleaned. You get complementary water, sunscreen and after sun which is nice. If you just need a bed and bathroom it works but it is not anything special.

It was hard to tell if it was clean or dirty because of how old and outdated the rooms were. The walls and floors had a yellow and dirty look to it. It also smelled very humid and damp through out the building. The bed sheets had a basement smell to them. The water pressure was very minimal and it was hard to get hot water. It was also hard to get parking around the hotel so I recommend ubering. The staff was very friendly and helpful but I wouldn’t come back here.

It’s is an older hotel so it is a little outdated. But it is very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. I really enjoyed my stay. As far as safety, the front gate is looked with only guess access so I did feel safe. All in all I will recommend for a solo trip if you want to be in the condado area and not pay the condado priced.

Ana and Eddy went above and beyond to accommodate me and my children. We had a long layover and the hospitality we received was a 10! The area is also walkable and safe. Definitely would return!

Hotel very dated, but was ok for the price. If you’re looking to be out and about most of your stay, and just need a place to sleep, this would work for you. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had a major water leak that kept the floor wet. They have a water fountain outside and I believe it attracts mosquitoes. This was a major problem because I hate mosquitoes and I was bit everyday when leaving and coming from the room. Also, the water was very cold when taking a shower. The front said they don’t have hot water because they are in the tropics. I have never heard of such thing! They also allow dogs, and we heard barking a lot, during the stay. The older guy at reception desk is very nonchalant and nasty! The young lady at the desk was very sweet, and attentive! Overall, it worked out. There are restaurants and shops, and casino nearby, and the beach is literally a walk around the corner. It’s 7 min from old San Juan in an uber or if you’re driving., and not far from the T-mobile District which is a highlight in San Juan. Would I recommend or stay here again? My answer would be no. It depends on what’s important to you.

Room was clean, no bugs, and the area felt safe with lots of food options nearby. Overall, a solid location for the price.

As a solo female traveler !!!!! I was uncomfortable that my room was missing the door chain—there was a hook, but no latch. Morning staff confirmed other rooms had one, so mine was just missing it. I couldn’t fully secure the door, which made it hard to relax and caused me to wake up several times during the night. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to bring it up to night staff, as they had already left not long after I checked in.

Tip: call ahead to make sure someone’s at the front desk when you arrive. Otherwise you gotta wait for them to come back. Before you can entire the premises.
