Best location in San Juan. Updated rooms, great views, pools & beach. The Hilton Plaza across the street is included in resort fee and the combination of the two makes for an amazing stay. Historic Old San Juan is walkable. Highly recommend.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn San Juan Condado for a solo trip expecting a relaxing getaway based on a great experience I had here two years ago. Unfortunately, this stay was extremely disappointing.

The biggest issue was major construction nearby that started before 7:00 AM every morning. This was never disclosed before or during check-in, and it completely ruined any chance of sleeping in or having a relaxing morning.

While I understand the hotel can’t fully control outside construction noise, my room placement made things much worse. I was placed right next to the elevator, with guests coming and going constantly, and also next to a utility closet where staff were working in and out throughout the day. The noise level was incredibly disruptive.

I asked twice to be moved to a quieter room, and unfortunately the staff never followed up or offered a solution. Even just an acknowledgment or update would have been appreciated.

I specifically chose this hotel because of the great experience I had here two years ago, hoping for a peaceful solo trip. Instead, the stay was stressful and far from relaxing.

Sadly, after this experience, I won’t be staying here again.

They kind of updated the hotel but you can tell the work was rushed and the updates already need updates. The front desk attendant did not acknowledge my presence at all for 5 min. I understand they were on a call but they could’ve said hold to the person on the phone and let me know they would be with me in a minute or see if my needs could’ve been handled quicker than the call they were on. I didn’t receive an oceanview. Instead I got a bayview and the balcony pictures in the photos was not nearly as large or curved. I feel like the attendant put me in the worst room possible right across from the elevator. The bed was flimsy and every time I moved I feared it would fall off its legs. I’m not that large. It was a king-size bed I was in it alone. I’m a male 6’0 215lbs. The sliding curtains to the window were broken and the AC was the noisiest thing I ever heard. I won’t be staying here ever again.

At the end of the day, choosing a hotel comes down to what is most comfortable, both budget and review wise. When coming across Hiltons offering I knew exactly what type of stay I would get and was not worried.

Room was nice, spacious, and air conditioned. Shower pressure was a downside after leaving our last hotel and could be an improvement point. Additionally for road facing rooms, we noticed noise isolation was at minimum, thankfully we're heavy sleepers but can be a struggle for those due to street racers and parties at night.

Concierges were all nice and accommodating, gave us recommendations and pointed us in the right direction for each of our questions.

Restaurants were probably the biggest downfall of this establishment due to inadequate staffing- each of the servers were wonderful, but we did not return due to price/quality/wait time

Pool was beautiful, cleaned, and staffed. Had no issues finding seating (February) and the hot tub was empty for the most part.

The presence of security was unfortunately an eyesore and audio nightmare, walkies on full blast by the pool made the environment seem unsafe, which is the opposite of what they're meant to present- I get it, tourists suck, but when you're eyeballed by the 3 valet and security while trying to return to our rooms at the end of a long night, it leads to an uncomfortable environment.

Overall, this was a nice stay, just had individually negative aspects that took a star away from our stay.

Good location, however, lots of noise due to traffic from Ashford Avenue. Would have preferred a room facing the lagoon. Pillows were flat as pancakes. Expecting better quality pillows from Hilton brand. I mean, should pillows wrap around your head like a turban? Breakfast was good. Staff was courteous and professional.

Room 480 had mold on the shower stall. The rugs next to our bed were dirty as dirt/filth would stick to our bare feet. The AC unit was noisy as it would turn on every two minutes. There were no drinking glasses on the bathroom. The morning breakfast selection was not favorable. One couldn't drink coffee from the regular coffee pot unless one ordered from the Continental breakfast menu. Discovered on my checkout I was being charged for vehicle parking services. I didn't use a car whatsoever during my stay at the hotel.

Be careful with the complementary breakfast, while very good, be sure your waitress takes care of processing the check with your coupon. Check your statement after you check out

This hotel is the typical expression of “used to be” definitely needs some serious work, everything is dated, not a beach front and very expensive in compare with other options in the area, the only good things is how closed it is to the only area you can swim at Condado beach, I would not recommend this hotel

Our only concerns were related to the hot tub jets not working and unexpected private parties preventing us from being able to utilize the main bar / restaurant and having to go to the smaller bar area where service and quality of drinks was not that of the main bar.

The location couldn’t have been better, and our rooms came with balconies and gorgeous views that really set the tone for the stay. Our first room was great, but the second one had a strange odor — not moldy, just like it needed a deeper clean.

The staff, however, were absolutely fantastic, and the breakfast hit the spot each morning. There’s a small pool on-site, but you also get access to the much larger pool area at their sister property. That said, some of the outdoor furniture over there has definitely seen better days — a few pieces were sagging or torn and could use an update.

Even with those minor issues, I’d still choose this hotel again for a pre‑cruise stay. The convenience and overall experience made it a solid choice.

When booking the property, the picture of the room booked was not the room we received. The picture of the room shows the lagoon side of the hotel. The room we received was street side, which was extremely noisy. Travel tip, bring a sound machine to help with the loud noises from the street. Otherwise, the hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

My reserved room was unavailable. It was given away due to overbooking. They offered me another room with one less bed for the same price. I refused to accept. The manager (Jessica) was kind enough to arrange for us to relocate to a hotel across the street with my original booking details. Their manager (Melany)) was very accommodating. I am grateful for their attentiveness ; however it was not a smooth check in. We also didn’t get out vouchers for breakfast.
This has never happened to me before. I’m wondering if booking with Expedia is the reason.
Thank you Jessica and Melany for your help. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Service sucked. We had two separate reservations on either side of a cruise. When we showed up the first night before the cruise, we were told our reservation was canceled because they were overbooked. We then had to scramble to find two extra hotel rooms.

When we came back on the backside of the cruise, our room was lovely, but it took three calls, one rude interaction with unhelpful front desk staff, and five hours from the time we requested bedding for them to provide it for the sofa bed for our children.

Oh my last night of our stay, the water went out due to a “maintenance issue“ and when we requested a bottle of water to brush our teeth, staff said it was “available for purchase.“

Overall, it’s a lovely property, but staff sucks. Lower your expectations if you stay here.

The property itself is beautiful and well located, but the service is absolutely abominable!

We had two reservations – on either side of a cruise - and when we arrived at the hotel the afternoon before our cruise, we were told that our room reservation had been canceled because they were overbooked. We were traveling with my 80-year-old parents and had to quickly scramble to find two hotel rooms.

When we came back to the hotel after the cruise, we were told our room would be ready in “1 to 2 hours.“ Six hours later our room was finally ready.

On the plus side, the room was beautiful and spacious and well laid out. On a negative side, the pullout sofa, which was to serve as the bed for our two children had no bedding. We requested bedding at 7:45 PM. At 10 PM we still had nothing and called the front desk.

At 11 PM we still had no bedding so we called down a third time. At 11:30 PM I went down to the front desk and spoke to the front desk attendant, who was extremely rude.

At midnight, we finally received the bedding we had requested so that our children could go to bed.

On the last night of our three-night stay the water was shut off due to some “maintenance issue.“ we requested bottled water so that we could brush our teeth. They said “bottled water is available for purchase.”

Overall – the property was lovely but the service is the worst overall I have ever received in my decades of travel.

Lack of cleanliness, comfort( the room was freezing) we could not adjust the thermostat . We contacted front desk and no one ever came. Housekeeping definitely does the absolute bare minimum with no attention to detail. Food and trash was left in the room from previous guest when we checked in. Instead of keeping our drinks cold the mini fridge froze everything. For a suite, there was no microwave and the toilet throughout the night continuously kept backing up. Was promised 2 night refund did not receive. Very disappointing stay at this hotel.

There was a convention happening at the time of my stay. Me and husband was not able to use the restaurant or the outdoor area. It was loud people standing around everywhere in dresses and suits. We did not feel comfortable walking through the pain lobby in swim attire. My advice if ever staying at a Hilton is to call ahead and make sure none of these things are taking place at the time of ur stay. I will not be staying here again.
