For my 57th birthday, my wife and I traveled to Puerto Rico, and what began as a last-minute hotel change turned into something that felt like divine intervention. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality and a level of professionalism that stood out immediately.

Louis and Mariana at the front desk set the tone with warmth and efficiency. As an Executive Chef with over 30 years of experience, I recognize when time and intention have been invested in developing strong frontline leadership, and it was clearly evident here.

Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and offered a stunning lagoon view. Nereida, our housekeeper, was both attentive and gracious, adding a personal touch that elevated our stay. Throughout the property, from the pool area to the laundry facilities, everything was well-maintained and consistently clean.

The hotel restaurant was visually impressive. The lighting, design, and open kitchen concept created an inviting and elevated dining atmosphere, and the menu offerings were well thought out. However, the temperature in the dining area was noticeably too cold, which detracted from our breakfast experience and ultimately kept us from returning.

Even with that minor setback, the overall experience left a lasting impression on us. In fact, it impacted us so much that we are now planning our 20th wedding anniversary celebration at this very property.

Amazing staff. Room was okay, scuffed walls and ceiling, white stuff on the bottom of shower door, rusty around balcony door. Cleaning team daily was great. Pool was great, warm, perfect for kids not too deep. Pool across the street was more of a party/alcohol vibe. Beach across the street was amazingly clean and perfect for kids, included chairs and umbrella.

They turned off our key cards the moment we stepped out on our last morning, even though it was well before 9:30 a.m. and checkout wasn’t until 11. We had to get them reactivated, and then the cleaning crew came in shortly after advising us the check out time. They also wouldn’t extend our stay.

On the positive side, we had a scare with a pre‑booked restaurant reservation for our group of 11, and the hotel staff stepped in immediately and handled it for us. That part was truly appreciated.

Nice hotel, not sure how they determine what view a room has but we could see a slice of ocean while the other side has the bay. Expedia lists the property as having free breakfast but that is not the case if you book through them and do not pay extra. We didn't know that until we went down to eat and had to pay a lot for ala carte while sitting with those getting free buffet breakfast. We didn't have time to go anywhere else since we hadn't planned for that. This is the second time expedia has not revealed an added fee at a property so check before you go. The location is good, very nice pool, access to kayak rental on property. Lovely view from one restaurant. Desk staff not too informative at check in.

The pillows or mattress were moldy, the hot tub didnt work, the laundry product machines barely worked, the restaurants didnt take card but INSISTED on room charges and then CHARGED an additional $40 per receipt on top of TIPS. One meal of $30 had an additional surcharge of $40!!! This was never mentioned. The parking was nice, I asked for the CONDADO Hilton not Gardens so I'm disappointed in hotel swap. Puerto Rico is beautiful and will be back.

Room was nice except toilet was broken and kept making a flushing noise every 9 minutes. I asked for maintenance they said would send 10:30 I came back to my room 4:30 they never came. Called front desk they said they had a few jobs would call me back. A week later nothing. I text number they gave me for issues they didn’t reply for 6 days. Kept me up all night wound up fixing it myself!!! Worst customer service ever

Staff was amazing! Could not get better service anywhere!! Efficient, courteous, and helpful.

Facilities, however did not live to the expectations for the price of the hotel.

Room: headboard USBs didn't work, bathroom mirror light either flickered or didn't turn on at all. AC was incredibly noisy.

Restaurants had ok/good international food... But nothing compared to food anywhere else in San Juan.

Tried to contact hotel for 3 days and couldn't get the phone answered at all. TV didn't work first night but next day it was resolved. Room service was flawless. Room and bay view with balcony was great. Hot swimming pool was a plus for evenings. Restaurant was pretty good as well as the breakfast. Overall good experience and all staff was very amiable.

Nice location and nice pool area. Convenient to the small, protected beach. We had to switch rooms at 10:30 at night due to a loud bass sound that maintenance said is the sound of the restaurant reclaimer (or something like that) that doesn’t get turned off until ~1am and on again ~5am. It was directly above our tenth floor room and was a terrible, deep sound. Our first encounter with staff sounded like she thought we were lying about it. For the cost of the room, we expected an entirely better experience and less condescending staff.

My husband, 8 year old and I had a wonderful 6 night stay here. Breakfast was great and convenient to have there, each morning. Our room was super clean and the balcony view of the Lagoon was a wonderful perk and great place to dry your wet swim clothes. The hotel pool was nice and warm and the bonus was having access to the hotel across the street for their pools and small beach area. Would definitely stay again if we go back to San Juan!

The rooms were clean. Staff were good. Hot and pool were amazing. Breakfast was a little pricey see when we stay at other Hiltons breakfast is included. Did have trouble with checking in we got there at 9:30 knowing that the check in time is 4:00. They storage our luggage which was helpful. we didn’t get our room until 3:30 while may people that come in way after us received a room before us. All and all we would stay there again.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn San Juan Condado for a solo trip expecting a relaxing getaway based on a great experience I had here two years ago. Unfortunately, this stay was extremely disappointing.

The biggest issue was major construction nearby that started before 7:00 AM every morning. This was never disclosed before or during check-in, and it completely ruined any chance of sleeping in or having a relaxing morning.

While I understand the hotel can’t fully control outside construction noise, my room placement made things much worse. I was placed right next to the elevator, with guests coming and going constantly, and also next to a utility closet where staff were working in and out throughout the day. The noise level was incredibly disruptive.

I asked twice to be moved to a quieter room, and unfortunately the staff never followed up or offered a solution. Even just an acknowledgment or update would have been appreciated.

I specifically chose this hotel because of the great experience I had here two years ago, hoping for a peaceful solo trip. Instead, the stay was stressful and far from relaxing.

Sadly, after this experience, I won’t be staying here again.

They kind of updated the hotel but you can tell the work was rushed and the updates already need updates. The front desk attendant did not acknowledge my presence at all for 5 min. I understand they were on a call but they could’ve said hold to the person on the phone and let me know they would be with me in a minute or see if my needs could’ve been handled quicker than the call they were on. I didn’t receive an oceanview. Instead I got a bayview and the balcony pictures in the photos was not nearly as large or curved. I feel like the attendant put me in the worst room possible right across from the elevator. The bed was flimsy and every time I moved I feared it would fall off its legs. I’m not that large. It was a king-size bed I was in it alone. I’m a male 6’0 215lbs. The sliding curtains to the window were broken and the AC was the noisiest thing I ever heard. I won’t be staying here ever again.

At the end of the day, choosing a hotel comes down to what is most comfortable, both budget and review wise. When coming across Hiltons offering I knew exactly what type of stay I would get and was not worried.

Room was nice, spacious, and air conditioned. Shower pressure was a downside after leaving our last hotel and could be an improvement point. Additionally for road facing rooms, we noticed noise isolation was at minimum, thankfully we're heavy sleepers but can be a struggle for those due to street racers and parties at night.

Concierges were all nice and accommodating, gave us recommendations and pointed us in the right direction for each of our questions.

Restaurants were probably the biggest downfall of this establishment due to inadequate staffing- each of the servers were wonderful, but we did not return due to price/quality/wait time

Pool was beautiful, cleaned, and staffed. Had no issues finding seating (February) and the hot tub was empty for the most part.

The presence of security was unfortunately an eyesore and audio nightmare, walkies on full blast by the pool made the environment seem unsafe, which is the opposite of what they're meant to present- I get it, tourists suck, but when you're eyeballed by the 3 valet and security while trying to return to our rooms at the end of a long night, it leads to an uncomfortable environment.

Overall, this was a nice stay, just had individually negative aspects that took a star away from our stay.

Room 480 had mold on the shower stall. The rugs next to our bed were dirty as dirt/filth would stick to our bare feet. The AC unit was noisy as it would turn on every two minutes. There were no drinking glasses on the bathroom. The morning breakfast selection was not favorable. One couldn't drink coffee from the regular coffee pot unless one ordered from the Continental breakfast menu. Discovered on my checkout I was being charged for vehicle parking services. I didn't use a car whatsoever during my stay at the hotel.

This hotel is the typical expression of “used to be” definitely needs some serious work, everything is dated, not a beach front and very expensive in compare with other options in the area, the only good things is how closed it is to the only area you can swim at Condado beach, I would not recommend this hotel
