I encountered a slight hook up during my initial check in and this place went above and beyond to take care of everything. Besides that they ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful with all things. Now to the property!! This had everything we needed as a family, rooms were spacious, the pools were amazing, bar service was extraordinary every day at the pool and the restaurants on site were great. This is truly a place where you can do it all and never have to leave if you don’t want to.

This stay was an overall mess-- the front desk & concierge lost our luggage for an hour, tried to demote our room from what we paid for, and later when we got locked out of our room they made us wait outside our room for almost an hour in our swimsuits. They were very pushy about attending a timeshare presentation and they did not try to remedy our feelings of disconnect or disrespect about anything with our check-in process or losing our luggage. When we spoke to management they made empty promises. This is a fine resort but I will not return and I do not recommend it. Most of the staff was very kind and friendly but it seems like a very large establishment that struggles with internal communications between their different departments which resulted in a bad experience for my family, and it is under new management so perhaps they are still finding their footing.

This is one of our favorite spots in Cancun
Always make you feel at home and safe
Right across the street from mall, movie theatre, museums, restaurants and more!
Water is different shades of blue and can swim; although, it is choppy, but fun.
Sand is soft, white and lots of it!!
Swimming pools are also great with saltwater and refreshing.
Beds are comfortable and has full kitchen
Restaurants on sight are also very good, especially the waiters…they become like friends
Free shuttle to and from airport
I mean how can you go wrong staying here

I was not given the room that I reserved, but a room with noise by the hotel by the side. The front-desk clerk assigned a room that I did not expect and offered an activities sheet that it was from last week. He did not take the time to send me the new activity sheet for the week I was staying.

The lady assigned to clean my room on the last day did not change the sheets as I requested. I was very disappointed, even though I had to request the room on my last night.

Clean room, nice pools, white sand beach. Across the street from La Isla mall with shopping and restaurants.
Negatives room AC was very cold and not easily regulated, safe did not work until staff repaired it, shower sometimes was luke warm. Property has time share offerings and gifts to listen to a presentation/sales pitch that we declined.

I was until your staff members came over and ask me to live the area because i was carring a bracelet from the hotel mext door, Even after I show my room key number. I ask them to go and check with the main office. I had the right to be in the hotel because I pay for it and they tread me. So I was not happy about it.

We had the most wonderful and relaxing stay here! Counting down the days until we can return. The service was phenomenal, and the room and all amenities (gym, sauna, steam room, spa) were perfection. Best pool and super clean and quiet beach. They even had less seaweed than the other beaches we had gone to throughout our trip. The food was spectacular and much better than the typical resort food. They also had a complete schedule of fun activities for kids and adults that gave it a nice resort experience instead of just a hotel room. Plus it has that incredible Westin scent in the lobby. 10/10 experience!!

The place was clean and friendly, and I had no issues during my stay. The staff was very helpful and had a great attitude toward guests, which I really appreciated. The only downside was that I wasn’t aware of the check-in deposit—it would’ve been helpful if that was clearly mentioned in the hotel description. Other than that, they also helped us book a trip through their agency, which was a nice plus.

Love this property. My room was cleaned/tidied everyday. The pool is amazing. Only thing, don’t eat on the property; it’s extremely expensive (unless it’s happy hour which all food and drink is included). But there are lots of other affordable spots around.

This is not a hotel. This is a vacation club and all they want to do is sell vacations club times
And dates.
Concierge desk does not offer to assist in selecting restaurants, things to do in Cancun
(Eg. Tours to tulum),or even have maps of cancun to assist guests.
It also is difficult to reconcile the fact that there is no potable water in the resort.
I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Just barely enough chairs for everyone in the hotel. I had to make a couple laps around at 2 pm just to find a single chair. They have other chairs that are further away from the pool, so you'll end up there if your late to the pool. Pool and area around it is very clean and well staffed.

A really wonderful resort that offers a number of different activities for families with children as well as adults traveling on their own. fantastic location close to downtown Cancun other sightseeing and Isla Mujeres. great food options fantastic service. I booked this hotel based on its Expedia listing, which clearly highlighted a free airport shuttle—a major factor when choosing among so many options in Cancun. Unfortunately, this turned out to be misleading, as no such service was actually available.

In a competitive destination like Cancun, every bit of value matters. When the hotel didn’t reach out prior to arrival, I contacted them myself, only to be told that transportation is handled by a third-party vendor and requires 48 hours’ notice. Even after sharing a screenshot of their own listing, the staff largely shrugged off responsibility. It was surprising to see such a lack of ownership over something so fundamental.

Ground transportation in Cancun is not a minor detail—it’s a genuine concern for travelers, especially with ongoing taxi issues and limited ride-hailing options. A good hotel would ensure guests feel safe and taken care of from arrival. A great hotel would acknowledge the mistake and correct it for future guests. Unfortunately, neither happened here.

Instead, the focus seemed to shift quickly to selling timeshare presentations, with offers of Marriott points and discounted packages that didn’t feel like real value. It was also frustrating to see inconsistencies in basic service—for example, being directed to buy bottled water from the shop instead of being informed about available water in the lobby.
To be fair, the rooms were clean, the location is convenient, and the food was decent.

It was a last minute trip booked on Sat. and arrived Sunday morning. We stayed for 5 days. The hotel was beautiful with 2 pools with lot of beach chairs and the infinity pool was amazing beautiful. The room was clean, staffs are very friendly, meals were great. We tried all restaurants overall, we love it!!

However, booked a cirque de soleil show with transportation through Expedia. Didn’t receive any notification about where and what time to pick up until last minute which was the morning of the day of the show. Got to the lobby 10 mins early but the shuttle left 20 mins before the expected time. One of the concierge at the hotel named Cynthia, she helped us arranged transportation and we arrived safely and on time. I have to special thank you to Cynthia! Thank you very much once again.

We definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

We’ve stayed here twice now. This room way much better than the first, as it was ocean front. (Not ocean view-first was ocean view and we were on the side) The rooms are perfect! Staff is great! We like the sports bar best, Julio is wonderful waiter and the bartender was excellent! We like this location also, since you can walk across to the mall, restaurants, bars and the aquarium. The bus stop is close to go to Isla Mujeres ferry or anything else.

This is a beautiful resort with nice staff members and plenty to do and lots of relaxation.
We did a facial which was pricey but really nice.
Food is okay a bit pricey but it's a hotel and you pay hotel prices. We played tennis, beach volleyball and went on a 5 mile hike down the beach.
One thing to note, you do have to get up before dawn to get a prime seat by the pool, people are out claiming their spots at 6:00-7:00am, after that you will not get prime seating. I got up every day like plenty of other people to watch the sunrise. People come and go and no one takes your things away.
I won't be back but glad I got to experience it. The Isla mall is right across the street with plenty of nice restaurants and shops. Have a fun holiday

Very disappointed by check-in because we did not get the room we reserved. We were told there was only 1 1-bedroom villa available and it was the last room on the first floor at the end of the property. It was not an ocean view. We were looking at a driveway with plants and heard loud noises from the adjoining resort. The television stations did not work and the air conditioner was loud all night and leaked onto the floor. We were told at checkin that we could get another ocean front room the next day and they would call us when the room was ready. They did so at 2pm on Sunday and we were able to get the room we had reserved. Very disappointed as we felt we lost a day of our vacation.

Tv in the room didn't work well. Not enough channels in english. No ability to screen share your phone to the tv. Resort pools were great, and the hot tub was a nice addition. Also pools and hot tub are open late (10pm) which is amazing. Some staff were not very friendly and not very attentative, but most were great. Especially the bag attendant, he was amazing.

The registration staff (Oscar D & Dennise T) were awesome. Oscar was able to change our room from one that was next to noisy air conditioning next door hotel to a beautiful 3rd floor room that was quiet and had a nice view of the beach and ocean. The baggage handlers were efficient and very friendly! The property was extremely beautiful especially the 2 endless pools. I would definitely rate this resort a 9.5, and hope to return soon!

The only negative was upon arrival, I had to sit with concierge to hear about timeshare purchase interest. I was on vacation and didn’t want to talk about purchasing anything other than food and drinks and excursions.

Los cuartos estan muy bien, amplios y en buenas condiciones. Las personas de la alberca son super atentas, tanto las que te ayudan con los camastros como los meseros. La razón por la que pongo solo cuatro estrellas es por las personas de la recepción, quienes tanto en el check in como en el check out, estaban de muy mal humor, y no fueron ni cordiales ni pacientes. Lamentablemente son la primer cara del Hotel, y si tienen mucho que enseñarles. Fuera de eso, disfrutamos mucho la estancia.

Property is the best around- the pools, cleanliness, wait staff, beach, and every outdoor staff person was outstanding- Luis, Ponchito, and Selena are just a few who made our trip 8/10. The only change from being here 2 years ago, is that the check in and the concierge service were very focused on attending an ownership presentation than making us feel welcome and appreciated for choosing them. They don’t owe anything to the customer, but small gestures such as a bottle of water or a walk to the restaurant for a first drink would be nice touches and were present previously during our stay. I work on customer service and a little goes a long way to sharing great experiences with others- word of mouth is more powerful than any other advertising. Even a free dessert or a bag with their logo would make the experience considerably better

Took my adult children for a Nov 25 week trip to Cancun - their first Resort experience. The Westin was making repairs to the front portico when we arrived, so missed the big WOW on entry. Inside the place was amazing. The staff top notch. We had a small hickup with a shower gel falling off the wall and tearing off a fingernail on our first day, but other than that, great experience.

My daughter talked to the Oceania staff about Green Chorizo (what is it, where can they taste some) on the second day, and the sourced it from Tulum to make for her for breakfast! Amazing service, listening and remembering each person. Just fabulous.

Daniel, our personal concierge, worked with me in the weeks before we arrived to ensure my requested food and welcome gifts were in the rooms for the kids when we arrived. Again, amazing service.

We had such an amazing stay at the Westin Lagunamar in Cancun! The service was honestly some of the best we’ve ever experienced — everyone was so kind, helpful, and made us feel completely taken care of from the moment we arrived.
The resort itself is beautiful — super clean, great pools, and the ocean views are just unreal. But what really impressed us were the little details. They even provided laundry soap, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it easy to freshen things up during our trip. And the lavender essential oil they include for better sleep? Total game changer! It smelled so calming and made our room feel like a spa every night.
We left feeling totally relaxed and already want to go back. If you’re looking for a place in Cancun with amazing service and all the comforts of home (and then some!), this is it. 🌴💙

The only reason for a good and not excellent was the fact it is a timeshare resort that we booked through Expedia, but are not interested in buying a timeshare and felt a few times like we had to listen to a speal about the timeshare because we were staying there.
