If you are a family with kids ages 0-13, this is perfect resort for you. It is a small resort- they have one main pool and a smaller pool that is mostly for families. They have events for teens/adults through out the day- standard beach volleyball, water Zumba, yoga (in and out of pool), and games throughout the afternoon. The evening shows are mid. They do have silent disco which is fun. The restaurant wait times are very long- so be prepared for that. We only at at the restaurants one night- and would hit the buffet.
Few tips: across the street there are crocodiles that live in the water below the restaurant so it was fun to watch them bath or watch the waitress call them in. It is a 15-20 minute walk to either the party zone and flea market, or the mall and ferris wheel. If you walk towards the party zone, you can take the beach to the lighthouse and mayan ruins and then circle the penisula on the beach to the pier and pop out right by the super market for nice and reasonable souveniers and snacks. There are also mayan ruins towards the ferris wheel- also a 15-20 minute walk.

The only issue we had with this resort was the outrageous prices they charge. We had to buy sunscreen the first day we were there and paid $49US (or $75 Cdn) for one can. That same can was $16US at the Pharmacy. And a straw hat was $79US….same hat was $20US down the street. Mexico is officially more expensive than Canada….didn't think that was possible. I think I would have had more respect for the resort if it wasn’t price gouging its tourists.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. I don't agree with the criticisms of some reviewers. Yes, the facilities are not brand new and show some signs of wear, but the cleanliness and maintenance are excellent. If you're on the west side, you will hear music from the bar, but it stops promptly at 11:00. The five restaurants offer a very good and varied selection. Four of them have table service, or you can choose the buffet.This hotel is specially welcoming to younger children. It has a large kids' pool area, plus the pirate ship pool, plus the castle water slide (which kept our granddaughter happy for about a thousand repetitions) plus a toddlers pool with tiny slides. The Kids Klub activities are well planned, fun and safe.
For the adults, there's the main pool, beach volleyball, a good gym, and lots of fun, cheesy games. Of course, most of us mainly want to hang out at the beach, the bars or the pool. Contrary to what we expected, we were always able to get lounge chairs wherever we wanted to be. Also contrary to what some reviewers say, we were NOT expected to tip for every little thing. Of course, tips are appreciated, but we received the same high level of service, tip or no tip. (And, no the drinks are not watered down!) If you do need cash on hand, there are ATMs in the lobby, one for pesos for dollars.The front desk will happily give change if you want smaller bills. We had a \"partial ocean view\" which was mostly obstructed. They did offer to let us move, but we were already settled in for our 10 day stay, and happy with the room (other than the lack of a view). Check in was smooth, and they held our luggage until our room was ready at 3pm. On our first day, we met Ramiro, who was serving drinks poolside, and he took care of us our entire stay! The drinks were good, and plentiful. Melchor really stood out as a waiter in the Mexican restaurant. The food was nothing short of AMAZING. The buffet was \"ok,\" but the sit down restaurants were SO GOOD! And, the best part? No reservations required. Sometimes we had to wait a little, but nothing unreasonable. There were enough loungers between the pool(s) and the beach, and we rented a cabana one day with Fernando. He was a great guy who always checked on us to see if we needed anything. I had a massage from Lulu, and highly recommend. My only \"complaint\" was that there were too many young children in the regular pool. I kept wondering why they weren't on the other side where there were slides, etc. We got splashed several different times. Just what I want-chlorine in my drink. I realize it's a family friendly place, but it would be better if the one pool was \"adults only.\" I would most definitely go back to this resort. I have done all-inclusive more than 20 times, and the food at the Sunscape was hands down, THE BEST.

Couple of things. The toilet flush handle was not working properly. I kind of had to put it together to get it to flush. No big deal but one thing that surprised me was that the bar cups are reusables and thats great for the environment but I personally saw the bar employees washing the cups on a small sink that I guess is supposed to be used to wash their hands migth be not I am just guessing but the employees just pour water inside and rub the cups with their hands. No soap. No sanitizer nothing. I found this very unsanitary. I personally dont drink alcohol and only went to ask for a bottle of water but it was not cool to see them doing that and no following minimum sanitary regulations.

Our family, 2 adults and 3 kids ages 9, 7 & 5 just had an amazing time at Sunscape! Amazing staff, great room with a king for us and a bed for each kid, delicious food, great entertainment and swimming! My kids enjoyed activities at the kids club each day, especially the evening activities which gave my husband and I time to grab dinner alone a couple times. We especially loved the 24 hr cafe including the pastries and lattes!
Really our only suggestion would be more deck chairs at the family pool and a drying rack on the balconies.

Sunscape Cancun All-inclusive was AMAZING! The customer service was spectacular. This was our 3rd time in Cancun. The food was fabulous. We got to know many of the servers by name. The entire staff made us feel so special! The entertainment at the hotel is so good. We went to a Mexican show one night. A magic show one night, and a light show on our last night. Oh, another thing i loved is the snacks. Other All-inclusive are just breakfast/lunch/dinner. Sunscape has a 24 hr coffee shop, a ice cream/ fruit / candy shop that are ALL-INCLUSIVE. That is a big deal. When we were up early for an excursion and the buffet wasnt open, we could eat at the 24 hour coffee shop that had coffee, milk, bagels, cinnamon rolls, toast. That is a big deal to me. To be able to get an ice cream sundae, or ice cream cone after a day in the sun was so refreshing. The beach was spectacular. I did request a \"ocean view\" room on expedia, and i did not get that. I am sure if i would have made a fuss, that i would have gotten it, but did not say anything about that because we were SO PLEASED with everything else. Also, the location of this hotel is good. We were able to walk to La Isla shopping Mall. I highley recommend this property. It is a GREAT Price, for a GREAT stay.

Be prepared to be greeted by smiling employees every time your out. They hold doors, carry your bags, randomly push elevator buttons for you, and always ask if we need anything. Only thing they could add would be to offer the guests a candy as we are greeted by them. The BEST staff I've seen in my 60 years.

Everything was lovely. This was a baby moon from my husband and I. I really like how they were kids, but they have the kids section and a whole different part of the resort, so it wasn’t overwhelming with families. I thought they had several options of restaurants. Plus the normal buffets. They’re staff always cleaning and sharing that everything was nice and neat. I would definitely bring my family here for future vacations.

Been to many affordable all inclusive resorts in Cancun and this place is by far the best food we have had, staff is amazing, fun, and you never get bothered by staff for timeshares. Take a walk to the rock wall - the beach is amazing there.

Great room, nice resort, nice staff, our only issue was not with the resort, we did get robbed by the police at the police checkpoint in the hotel zone. He demanded all the money from my wallet to let us go. took $180 cash yesterday March 3rd at around 10:30 am.

This was one of the worst “all-inclusive” experiences we’ve ever had. Staff were snarky, sarcastic, and quick to charge extra for everything - including mini-fridge drinks. There’s only one small pool and no hot tub unless you pay hundreds for a “spa package.” Nothing like any other Hyatt property we’ve stayed at worldwide. It honestly should not carry the brand name.
English proficiency was extremely limited. When we called housekeeping for help adjusting the room temperature while I had fever and chills after consuming their drinks, they laughed and offered no assistance. The lack of basic support, even something as simple as vomit bags, was shocking.
The drinks at the pool bar (piña colada, lemonade, “Riviera Maya”) triggered three days of nonstop vomiting, fever, chills, and nausea. They tasted artificial -like sugar, dye, and unclean water.
The buffet was unhygienic and low quality. Chocolate milk separated into powder and tinted water. Bread tasted processed and artificial. Vegetarian labels were inaccurate, and we were even served shrimp after asking multiple times. Coffee tasted like cardboard.
Restaurants weren’t open for breakfast or lunch, and dinner waits ranged from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Food was undercooked (burgers, pakoras), bland or overly salty.
The lobby and washrooms had overpowering artificial nauseating scents. Rooms were outdated and dirty ants were on my toothbrush.

Yhe entire stay at this resort was a pleasure. My wife and enjoyed everything from arrival to departure. We were greeted by a gentleman by the name of Angel, he was more than helpful and pointed us in the right direction multiple times. The food was delicious and the staff were more than attentive to my needs. We had a great spa day that got turned into two days because of a scheduling conflict on my part. The wait staff were amazing and the restaurant Azul has a waiter by the name of Martin, i believe he should be promoted to management. All in all i would definitely return another time and i will bring the children next time.
