First off, that's not even a hotel, it's an old mall they turned into a zero-star hotel!!!
Second, the breakfast is a total rip-off!!! They show all these fancy pictures of breakfast, but the only thing included is just toast and butter!!! For anything else, the cafe they send you to will charge you and if you want to get a very low level breakfast, you have to pay moee than 50usd per person!!!

10 out of 10 for the Ac and Bed. Everything was perfect, the room was nice and in a great location for the price. Biggest problem they never cleaned until the 4th day after we asked them, but other than i would stay here again its an amazing affordable hotel. Not a luxury resort but its worth staying here for the price. I loved it!!! Because the AC was cold as hell and the bed was amazing.

This place works for me. I’ve stayed a couple times. It’s got large rooms and a comfortable bed. The location is close to beaches, great food options, a very large grocery store. Right across from Dreams resort where you can access the beach and rent a Hobi Cat for sailing or jet skis. I take the local red bus everywhere for $1. WiFi works fine. You may have to run the hot water for a while before it heats up. Large soaker tubs in the rooms. Just know there are no windows in the rooms, not much security in the building and no amenities like a pool or fitness center. That said there’s a lot to do in the area and many diving shops and tour opportunities.

We didn't even see if it had a balcony overlooking the patio, we just went in and it smelled horribly like insecticide. After a few minutes, \"someone\" tried to open the door and we told him it was busy, but we better go back to the administration, give him back his key and tell him. We said we were leaving, he offered to change our room, but when he looked us up in his records, he said that the Administration Employee who received us did not even check in and after so many anomalies we better went that night to another hotel.
If they are really interested in His Prestige, they should at least return what we paid for that night. Salu2, take more care of your guests, train your employees better and MORE Supervision.

I was a bit put off by some of the reviews but went ahead and booked that stay at Mayafair Design Hotel. The rooms and facilities are clean. The area is pretty safe and conveniently located. You can walk to all major clubs from this hotel. Some parts looked like they were being upgraded or under construction but nothing that would make the place unsafe. Hot water is a hit or miss but it wasn't ice cold.

The value and the location of this hotel are great, compared to other facilities by the beach in Cancun. The room are nicely decorated but the hotel itself has the atmosphere of a mall. Our room had a large glass window which made it impossible to get a dark room at night. There were no facilities to hang your clothes. The access to the beach is about four blocks across the street and there is a nice shopping area right below and next to the hotel.

I was there for only one day. The hotel is a converted office building and the rooms are brand new and nicely appointed. There are no facilities, such as pool, hot tub or patio. The staff were wonderful and bailed me out of a difficult situation trying to contact my clinic. It is literally across the street from the beach, but it does not have beach access. Good for a short business stay.

The hotel was pretty inside with the greenery. The staff were very inconsistent about prices and what the hotel offered. We were told we could use our hotel towels over the phone at the beach and then when we got to the hotel we were told we could not. Prices quoted by staff for the buffet were different than their signage. Everytime we asked about the all inclusive option we were told something different. We only ate at the pizza restaurant and it was just okay. I think we also only saw maybe 8 other people staying there the whole time we were there. No one was ever at the bar or restaurants really. I would say it was a ghost town and very boring. The room was clean enough. There were some stains on the bed frame. This is a good place to stay if you are just looking for a place to sleep and be in walking distance to beaches, ferry, and nightlife.

Took about 1 hr to check in and they didn’t even know about what was included in my reservation. No information regarding the hotel and its amenities and inclusive places available given. Entire hotel was hot. The room was not cold, no hot water, shower head barely spout water, refrigerator was broken and not cold at all but the customer rep lied and said it’s not a refrigerator and it’s only to keep your food fresh. Very low quality place, overpriced for sure. Impossible to make the room dark, the main wall looking into the building interior is a giant window with curtains that partially allow light through. With them closed and all lights off the room is still very illuminated. And then there is a club in the same building. Loud bass heavy dance music during every night in your room.

Never think about booking here. We booked for three nights and didn't even want to stay for an hour. This is not a hotel. It's a shopping mall so you will be staying in a remodeled shop. No air flow and rooms smell like mold so they fix it by adding a strong scent that will trigger asthma and allergy. This place is a scam and receptionist will acknowledge that it doesn't match description but they will never agree to refund you. They just manipulate and scam people with their rate. Never fall for that or even think about booking here.

The property needs a major renovation. They need new bed sets. Most of the stuff in the room Needs to be replaced. The refrigerator was old and broken, the sink was clogged, and when it rained all i smelled was sewage. Keep in mind this is after i changed my room. The room was clean! But the hotel is fallowing apart. It needs so much work. The staff was great, very helpful. The room layout was very weird. There was a tub in the corner of the room. The toilet was in the shower. It was a big step up to the shower. The price was very affordable. We really only slept in our room. So having a clean room was all we needed.

The hotel information was absolutely non accurate. The main problem is that there are no w8ndows in majority of the rooms. It is a former shopping mall, where the shops were converted into rooms. Very humid ourside of the rooms. Our vscation was ruined completely. Neither hotel nor hotels.com refused to refund money. We had to stay there for a week, cos didn't have funds to move to anothet hotels. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR VACATION!

My room did not have heat or hot water. Desk manager was very helpful getting me a new room. Great customer service on that. There was a rainstorm, and the floor was wet everywhere. Hotel staff can’t control the weather, but it was not safe. I almost fell a few times. All in all, a rough trip for me. Spotty Wi-Fi as well.

My trip was last minute and I had a budget surprisingly I found this hotel very cheap in price and looked great in pictures had good reviews. When we first arrived we were surprised to see the hotel looked abandoned. We were probably the only people staying there the first night. The staff was really nice, the bell boy helped us to our room he was really nice and friendly. As soon as we opened the door of the room there was a really bad odor, we imagined it smelled that way because the room had no windows and it smelled as if people hadn’t went in that room for a very long time. I masked it with my perfume and it was fine. We then noticed the big crack between the door and the wall as if we were in a stall. We could see the lobby from the crack in our door. The bathroom was very inconvenient, toilet was in the shower, every time we showered the toilet would get wet. I understood what I had gotten myself into because we did pay a cheap price. What made matters worse is that the first night, we were in the room sleeping and we woke up to someone opening our door. Luckily we had the metal door stopper put on so the door opened only a little but it was as if they kept trying so my boyfriend got up to open the door and it was a staff member and another customer checking in. They were trying to give him the same room. My boyfriend was really upset and we didn’t receive any type of apology. Don’t believe the hotel pictures because pictures are deceiving.

This hotel is a mall transformed into a hotel. If you are young and want to be close to the action at a discount, it might be your place. It was not it for us. I felt the area was trashy, the restaurants around were not good (except the hotel restaurant) and anytime we walked anywhere the street vendors hassled us. We had a four night reservation and left after the second night. On our first morning, We sat in the hotel lobby for breakfast and never got served, we left. We ended up eating at Starbucks. However, the taco restaurant around the corner, also part of the hotel, was quite tasty. Regarding the staff, we did not feel that they really cared if we stayed or left. They said hello to us sometimes and other times we were ignored. Our room was wide open except the bathroom, which consisted of a toilet and and shower in-one. This proved to be difficult when the toilet was needed if someone was using the shower. We needed to move the bedside table to the sink so we had room for our toiletries and there were no hooks to hang anything anywhere in the room and no closet. Our “king sized bed was two twins placed next to each other. The light from the lobby shown through our window above our door so it was difficult to sleep at night. I’m not sure what I was expecting for the price… The pictures online look deceptively great, but it was too odd for us. We will not be staying here again.

Weird system of bathroom, not very hygenic in the bathroom it have roaches, if you have to shower it have hot water immediately but for when you open the cold water only you have to wait 10min to start and the water of shower didn't have pressure at all to wash away the sand from the body. It have issues with the container of shampoo was always licking away. And inside the bathroom wasn't a sink where you can wash your hands. I changed twice the rooms they had the same issues. Never going back again

Overall is good.
Service from Ivan was very good. The lady in the front office for day shift was ok. She was not helpful. Hotel is located in good area near Ultramar ferry at playa caracol, club area and bus stops. It was really convenient. Hotel looked older than in the photo. But it was good enough when compare with price. Suitable for budget traveler.

I like how accessible to transportation, shopping malls, supermarkets, and the beach. I don’t like the noises that are easily heard, no microwave, telephone, and electric kettle.

We arrived no one in reception. Waited 30min for someone to come. Went to room and turned around and left and went across street to RIU for our stay. Did not stay one night and we received no refund. DO NOT WASTE MONEY. The website pics are not what you get. HotelTransylvania.
