Pros:
The massage was excellent and easily the highlight of the stay. Staff were friendly and generally attentive, the nightly entertainment was enjoyable, and the excursion recommendations from staff led to some of the best moments of the trip.
Cons:
The arrival experience set the wrong tone. After a long travel day and completing check-in, we were asked to sit for a 15–20 minute conversation to schedule a membership sales presentation the next morning. It was framed as an orientation on resort amenities, which felt misleading. After hours of travel, we just wanted to get to our room.
The first room had a strong chemical smell. We seemed to be the only ones acknowledging it and were offered air freshener and then an air purifier before ultimately being moved to another room within about 30 minutes.
The second room still had an intermittent sewage smell coming from the bathroom when the AC wasn’t running heavily. In-room amenities were limited, and the room service food was unfortunately very poor.
Food and cocktails across the resort were generally mediocre. The pools were also underwhelming—especially the Diamond Club pool, which is quite small.
Because the property is built vertically, elevators are required to get around. Unfortunately, they were extremely slow and small, creating frequent bottlenecks throughout the day.
Overall, the staff were kind and helpful when issues were raised, but several operational details kept the experience from feeling polished.

DO NOT STAY HERE. I can’t stress this enough. If you value luxury and cleanliness, this is not the place for you.

Check-in is extremely long, even with online pre-check-in. You can’t access your room until 3 PM, and then you have to check in again to get your key—a completely redundant process. When we finally got to the room, the key didn’t work, forcing another trip to the desk. Staff immediately push a sales rep on you, pressuring you to attend a “breakfast” that’s really a 90-minute sales seminar with coupons and discounts you won’t need or use.

The rooms are dirty, with showers and sinks smelling like sewage. Beds and towels also smelled bad, and our group experienced the same issues. Electricity kept going out, requiring a staff member to reset a breaker in the hallway multiple times.

There’s no bottled water—only refillable glasses in hallway stations (I didn’t trust this)—and bars don’t provide straws, making drinks like piña coladas difficult to enjoy. Food was so bad that I barely ate my entire trip, though fresh omelets at breakfast were decent. Most staff were rude and unhelpful.

The only positives are the location, pool parties, and balcony views, but they don’t make up for the disorganized, dirty, and frustrating experience. Avoid this resort. Spend the few extra dollars on a better resort!

Good location if you want to stay close to the action in the Zona Hotelera. However, be aware that regular all-inclusive price doesn’t include drinks in the top floor where this hotel holds their pool parties. That probably was the reason why all parties there were very poorly attended.

Overall, my stay was good. The beach view from the balcony was my favorite part—it was beautiful.
The room was clean; however, my only complaint was a sewer-like smell coming from the shower.
The food options were great, and the food itself was good. The beer selection, on the other hand, was very limited. I was also disappointed that they served Pepsi instead of Coca-Cola and did not offer bottled water, only refillable containers.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for first-time visitors, but personally, I would not book another stay here.

Overall, we had an amazing time here and would definitely return.

Starting with check in — we had diamond club and it was smooth, easy and seamless. This was the same for check out.

We arrived on a Saturday and met our butler (Daniel and Steff). Our room was not ready so we went to the pool to wait (we packed bathing suits in our carry on). The DC pool & beach and the regular pool & beech were both PACKED! There wasn’t a single available chair and this was around 1130am. We managed to find 2 chairs by the “jetted” pool and stayed there. They had food available at munchies as well as the poolside grill.

We ventured up to Level 18 rooftop to find ourselves all alone at a foam party (it was actually kinda cool having the place to ourselves). DC members get drinks included up there and we never had any issues with overcrowding on the rooftop (although they weren’t always open)

Sunday was still a little crowded but we got to the pool early with plenty of seats available and as the week went on, it got even better. The temperature of the pools was pretty cold (we went the last week of Feb) but the ocean was quite enjoyable. Our wish was that there was atleast 1 hot tub on site, other than the sauna.

The room we had was a lagoon view and it was perfect for us. It was clean and staff was always attentive if we needed them. Shower was big and the bed was comfortable. There was a slight foul smell from the faucet and shower water though — brush your teeth with the bottled w

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Royalton Chic. The room was modern, clean and beautifully designed. Food was good, I especially enjoyed the hot wings and quesadillas at the sports bar!! Drinks were great. Foam pool party was so much fun and The beach was clean. 10/10 for us! I would definitely recommended this hotel!

The service was not the best. There were not enough servers or bartenders and they were not very friendly. The upgrade to Diamond club was NOT worth it. We had to wake up early if we wanted to get a seat on the beach or pool. There was not a lot to do on the resort other than sit on the beach or by the pool. The food was not great. We were not a fan that all restaurants required a reservation but the time slots got filled really quickly so it was hard to get a reservation. The elevators were also extremely slow so it took forever to get around the resort.

When we arrived at the hospitality appeared over the top, however, then we were directed to a marketing person. That was almost insistent on getting me to class to talk about a membership with a hotel. They were persistent. I ended attending. I expended two hours of my vacation time to hear this promotion where they wanted to sell a membership for five and 10 years at 9000 and $14,000 definitely not worth it. Empty bottles and glasses were found on the beach. It was difficult to get towel service. Their bathroom where they meet their prime members didn’t have toilet paper at one point in time at fecal matter on the floor. Their highlighted restaurants had low quality food. The presence in the vibe was very poor and the quality of food was not good. They want to be a high-end hotel and offer VIP services but have a lot of work to do. I decided I won’t even go back. There are plenty of other hotels in Mexico that have lovely people, great restaurants, and are clean.

For the most part everything was fantastic. The food was good, the staff is really nice and get you involved with fun things to do. My only complaints are the elevators are slow so if one opens up, you just jump on not matter the direction. And to do any upgrades were pretty pricey. We didn't upgrade and didn't feel the need to. Overall, we had a great time and would stay there again.

The beach was spectacular, the bed was cozy and check-in/check-out were quick and easy. Huge shoutout to Jorge on the beach, Aram at Vespa and the Vibe Team, who were all fantastic and elevated our experience.

On the downside, the pools and hot tub were freezing and the nightly shows didn’t always match what was listed in the app. The elevators caused major backups during busy times. Room service was disappointing — during our 6-night stay, housekeeping only came once and we had to repeatedly call for towels, soap and coffee. There was also a strong, unpleasant smell in the shower.

Amazing location and staff, but housekeeping and maintenance need improvement.

Every resort I’ve been too in Cancun has had enough chairs to accommodate their guest (plus more). Royalton did not. People come to Cancun to enjoy the sun, relax, and catch tan. Laying on the ground isn’t relaxing. This resort tries to make more money off of you by adding the “dimond level” but even that pools chair and ocean chairs are full. Mind you I went in January not even busy season.

Definitely had a great time. Staff was great but meeting new people and partying was the best part for me. People kept complaining about their food but the food was really good. We had the dinner on the beach which was very romantic. During the pink party we rented a cabana with a jacuzzi which was really fun. Comes with a bottle of don julio, sofa, chairs and a flat screen tv. On the third floor we had parties with an dj that read the crowd and knew which songs to play. I’ve been to resorts where they play classical rock and American songs which is okay. But we’re in mexico, we want to hear some reggaeton lol. Another HUGE PLUS is that it’s literally 10 minutes walking distance to the hotel zone. We went to coco bongo which was crazy and my favorite was Congo. The night life there is littt.

My room needed a complete make over .Broken stuff everywhere!! Loose things .So dirty !!! Upgrade for nothing.Suede couches that were filthy couldn’t even lay on then them.

Leather would make sense ! I didn’t say anything because all I wanted to do was relax not waste more time by waiting in line an having them move us around etc .I won’t be coming back .That room felt unsafe .The balcony had loose tiles etc an the food selection at the buffet was repetitive.

There were some things I loved .But that room shows me that this place doesn’t take care of there things same with the sports bar .The tables were filthy a flimsy .

We enjoyed our 5 nights. Pretty much like all the other all-inclusive places I've stayed. Nice variety of restaurant and food choices. Plenty of bars and not too big of a resort so moving around was easy. I thought the rooftop bar was for everyone but they said you had to be in the Diamond Club. I didn't see that when booking.

The room was beautiful and well equipped, with a nice sitting area, comfortable bed and luxurious shower. The beach chairs were plentiful with great shade to relax in, the pool was beautiful and every day we participated in fun water exercises led by the gym team and pool volleyball. The evening programs were enjoyable and varied. This all inclusive hotel was well worth the money.

I would never stay here again. This is not a resort. It’s more like a hotel. Pool and beach chair area too small to accommodate the amount of people at the resort. Food is not good. Elevators are horrible. Room looked nice and view was great. Tv doesn’t allow connection to Netflix and other apps. Shower had a sewage smell. The best thing about this place is the beach. It’s very clean and the lifeguard goes out of his way to ensure safety when the water is choppy. It was impressive.

I recently stayed at Royalton Chic and came away genuinely impressed. The location is excellent, perfectly situated with easy access to everything, and the property itself is beautiful. The hotel is modern and elegant with a stylish atmosphere that really enhances the overall experience.

The food was very good across the resort. The buffet was a pleasant surprise with a wide variety of options, and we had no trouble finding many items we liked. A few standout favorites made the trip even more memorable. The chicken wings at the Sports Bar were outstanding and quickly became our go-to snack, and the Margarita pizza at the Italian restaurant was absolutely delicious. Both were far better than we expected from an all-inclusive resort.

What truly set this stay apart was the level of service. Our butlers, Esteban and Samara, were phenomenal. They were attentive, professional, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Their dedication made a real difference in the quality of our vacation.

Tonantzi at the buffet was just lovely as well. She went out of her way on two separate occasions to arrange a special table for dinner for us, and even had a special dessert prepared as a thoughtful gesture. It was her favorite dessert, and it was such a warm personal touch that she certainly did not have to provide. We appreciated her kindness very much.

Very nice resort. The bartenders and food service staff are excellent. The food options are diverse and very good. The rooftop pool is really fun! Shoutout to Diego and Luis at regular pool, Daniel and ONeal at Level 18! Proximity to the beach is great and they maintain the beach very nicely!!!

Only complaint is elevators and room cleaning. Don’t plan to get anywhere quickly. There is no rhyme or reason so don’t bother…just be patient! We were also disappointed with room cleaning. They don’t routinely restock the mini bar or coffee or straighten the bathroom. They basically make the bed and leave. We left our person a $5 tip requesting a few beers for the mini fridge. She took the tip and didn’t restock the fridge or the coffee!

Overall we would come back, just a friendly heads up to prepare for a couple things!

The hotel was just ok. One of the queen bed mattress had a big indentation in the middle so was uncomfortable and kept rolling inwards during sleep. Fire alarm went off 3 or 4 times in the early morning (for no reason) waking us up. We were on the 13 floor so it was a hassle to get an elevator up or down due to elevators not functioning/broken and packed with people. We had 2 Butlers but didn't see them after the first day and didn't find them overly helpful or needed. Food was average, sometimes below average. The best meals we had were breakfast in the buffet. One of the main considerations in booking the hotel was the promoted $600 hotel credit but was disappointed to receive a coupon book upon check-in with $15-25 off different purchase options such as bottle wine or spa services. It felt like that was misrepresentation of the hotel credit benefit--it was more of a discount coupon book which we really weren't able to use. On a positive note, the location on the beach was beautiful. Also, the evening entertainment was good. We love Cancun and had a nice holiday overall but would not stay at this property again.

Special mention to Eliseo, from the restaurant, who gave me the papaya I requested on 12/27 when I couldn’t find it on Elements Buffet Restaurant. Other waiters like Fernando(Jaime), Ricardo and Edival were so friendly and accommodating.

The place was so clean and bed was comfy. It is a walking distance to shopping malls.

The restaurants serve good food but you need reservation to most restaurants except the Elements Buffet Restaurant. Food in Elements were good but because I have been to RIU, Warwick Hotel and Moon Palace, I would say their food is very limited. The good thing is they can prepare the food according to your request, like no salt, no pepper, etc. Also, they are open for long hours.

There was Free Room Service and they are so quick, within 10-15 minutes, it was delivered to my room on Xmas Day.

We couldn’t close the shower door but when I requested a repair it was done so quickly.

Entertainment was all night during our stay. My 2 daughter(24) and special son(22) enjoyed it.

We will come back to this place!

Nice, small (compared to some in costa mujres) so intimate and cool. You can easily get to know ppl. Some parties here and there, could improve to make it more adult type. Change Adult to an actual Adult like over 21…I’ve seen more families with younger kids 18+. Overall, I would return, door place and decent food. Beautiful Beach!!!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Mexico. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding and made us feel truly welcome. The staff was always kind, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed.
A special mention goes to our butler Esteban, who provided exceptional service throughout our stay. He were professional, friendly, and always went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect—from reservations to small personal details that made our experience even more special.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and luxurious, and the level of service really stood out. We truly felt taken care of and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free stay in Cancun

I stayed at the royalton chic from December 14-20 This was my first ever all inclusive experience so keep that in mind when reading my review.

If you want to be pampered and taken care of and enjoy the beach and a great day time party scene at the pool this is the place.

The staff was so warm and helpful. Samara and Esteban were my diamond club butlers and were both incredible. They keep you updated and informed about all events and really go above and beyond to make sure you’re having a great stay.

Disappointments. The elevator situation can be rough. First day I waited 25 minutes for an elevator. The next few days were smooth but it takes a few minutes when ordering an elevator.

The room service options were somewhat limited and I was disappointed with the quality of the food. However, the quality of the food at the on site restaurants were good overall.

Bottom line. Staff here is incredible, everyone speaks English and will gladly indulge in your broken Spanish if you so choose. The spa is Devine, the beach is perfection. Both pools are a blast.

I was a bit disappointed with the on site activities, tequila tasting and some other events got canceled last minute. And the room service options could improve. Overall I give the property a 7.5/10… diamond club is a must. And the staff is spectacular. Don’t use the tap water. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽

Diamond club should have more perks.
All the main restaurants shouldn’t need reservations .
Staff was amazing , efficient and friendly. Drinks were fairly good based off the bartender you had . Room service options could have been better. Housekeeping was very efficient! Overall it’s not a bad resort but my expectations were high based off a family friend experience with diamond club.
