Overall, this is a beautiful resort with great amenities, delicious food, and a friendly attentive staff. The grounds were well maintained, and there were plenty of activity and facilities to enjoy during the stay. The dining options were excellent, and every staff member we encountered was welcoming and helpful.
Unfortunately, our room experience was disappointing. We specifically reserved a room with two beds, but upon arrival we were informed the Delux rooms only have a king size bed. When we entered the room the bed was actually queen size rather than the king size we were told to expect. We were informed the resort was fully booked due to a wedding that was going to take place. In addition, the air conditioning was not properly working, making the room a little uncomfortable.

While the resort itself has many positive qualities and the staff did their best to assist, the issues with the room accommodations took away from what otherwise could have been an excellent stay.

The staff was beyond incredible I had a disabled friend who I thought would be able to handle the ramp with her walker but found out she was not the staff helped her every time she needed to move from the room to a restaurant and they were incredible I would recommend this resort to anyone who is frightful of taking someone who is disabled. Miguel Umberto and the other staff at the front door were my saviors I cannot say enough about them the restaurants went beyond trying to help us everyone there was so courteous and helpful I love this place

The entertainment team was amazing and really made the trip fun and memorable. The food was average overall, but the sushi bar was definitely my favorite. The beach was beautiful and very enjoyable. One thing that could be improved is the pool seating, chairs were usually all taken by 8 a.m. each day. Our son and fiancée had a room facing the street, and it was pretty loud with traffic, honking and noise from nearby construction. Thankfully, our beach-facing room was much quieter and had a great view. The location was excellent, and overall we would definitely recommend staying here!

I would not stay there again if the hotel offered a week for two and airfare. The room was awful: next to noisy utility rooms (pipes pinging) and cleaning staff staging point - show up around 6:30. Air conditioner sounded like unbalance washing machine. No sound proofing. Evening activities at lobby bar very loud. Hear people partying in the early morning hours. High pressure sales on a travel club ($499/yr.) Don't do it.

The staff was fantastic, especially the entertainment team...Stephanie, Jordan & Francesco. We requested our ocean view master suite in a building with an elevator-which we did get. The food was absolutely fantastic...Chianti was really good as well. For the price we paid, it was a fantastic resort and would stay here again. The bus stop was right by the resort for both NB & SB which was very convenient.

The ONLY thing we hated was the high pressure to attend a 90 min sales pitch during our check.in process...not a fan.

Upon arriving, a welcoming staff greeted us and got us into our room even though we were a bit early. Rooms were modern and clean. The fridge was stocked daily with refreshments making our time there even more comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets are worth it. The dinner menu changed each day offering a new selection of tasty bites. During our stay, on different nights, a mariachi band and a saxophone player performed live in the dining room. Maintenance responded quickly to issues we had regarding our bathroom, tv remote, and door lock. We could have stayed at the beach all day. It was just a few steps away from the resort. Truly a wonderful getaway if you’re looking for a boutique resort with everything you need in one place

THE GOOD: the beach is beautiful, the location is good, the drinks are wonderful. The staff is mostly kind and helpful.

THE BAD: The food is terrible, very bland or cheap. They have 3 restaurants. No walk-up buffet, you MUST wear closed-toed shoes and shirts with sleeves at ALL FOOD LOCATIONS. You have to wait to be seated despite there being open tables. 3/4 of the staff do not speak English, so any questions you have to wait for two specific managers who do. My brother had to switch rooms 3 times because they reeked of mold. My standard room was almost double the size of a deluxe room. Balconies ranged from decent to 4inches wide. The walls and glass doors are sounds bouncing, you can hear EVERYTHING, including the nightlife inside and all street noise. The resort has excursion options inside the lobby, BUT CLAIM TO HAVE NO CONNECTION TO THEM. If anything happens financially, security wise, or transportation they CANNOT AND WILL NOT HELP YOU. My friend got stuck on an excursion and had to take an hour-long taxi at midnight to get home.

Overall, I will never be coming back to Hotel NYX, and I STRONGLY suggest you don't stay here.

Property was very clean. Staff was amazing, always smiling. The only minor issue was booking the Umami (teppanyaki) we were there for 7 nights and only got a reservation for the last night. In order to get this reservation we had to set an alarm for midnight to book. The frustrating part of the reservation was the restaurant was empty and we were 4 people at the table which means there was plenty of room/availability for other guests who were for sure trying to get a reservation. The buffet was always awesome with every night being a new theme. I personally don’t do night life so this wasn’t an issue but there is very minimal entertainment for those who enjoy the nightlife/shows. If you just want to lounge at the pool this is not the place unless you are up very early, this was a non issue as I spend my days at the beach. Servers all day at the beach for drinks and food. Over all if you are looking for a small, everything at your fingertips resort this is the place. I enjoyed my stay at this small hotel compared to huge resorts where getting places takes a half hour. Perfect little resort

We had a great stay at NYX Hotel Cancun. The location is perfect, right on a beautiful beach with amazing ocean views. The room was clean and comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job every day. The staff were friendly and helpful, always with a smile.

The pool and beach area were very nice and relaxing, and the bar was well-stocked with good drinks. Breakfast had a good variety and everything was fresh.

Overall, great value for the price. We would definitely come back!

Reception was okay. Can't check in early as there was no available room. Can't check out late as they said they were full.

Food - excellent. Their buffet breakfast and dinner have lots of choices. They also add or change some of the choices daily. The Deck lunch restaurant was a bit small and you have to wait for your order, they sometimes forget the 2nd orders of drinks. It happened twice to us. The chianti restaurant has great food too and excellent service. The japanese restaurant, we tried the reservation and they will cook the food in front of you, the food were salty. I should have gone to the italian or the regular dinner buffet.

Room was being cleaned everyday unless you don't want to. Good size room.

The Negative are those people on the lobby that asks you and saying they were giving gifts for guest. They would like you to get their membership in return of you listening to their 90 minutes pitch. Some of them not telling the truth right away and would just inform you that they would like you to have great experience. I googled & found out it's just selling strategy to exclusive membership. We do not want to waste our vacation time with this so we cancelled. It's annoying that they were at the front and you see them everyday. It is not right to waste people's vacation time. Might as well ask those guest that are waitibg and expalin clearly what they were offering instead of booking another morning time.

Overall this is a great hotel with great foods and staff.

The buffet food was never hot unless you needed something fresh off the grill like eggs for breakfast. Our room and the outside area surrounding it had a sewer smell most days. The lunch restaurant always asked about my wife’s food allergies but never once did anything about it and several days she got sick from suspected cross contamination. The pool was really nice and the bars were really well run. Bartenders were very attentive.

Was our second stay at the NYX Cancun. It is a smaller resort but, has everything needed for a great holiday. Staff is friendly and attentive. Jordan provided exceptional service and entertainment with games and pool activities. The morning yoga sessions with the sound of waves started a beautiful day. Best part of the NYX is the food. We have been to numerous resorts and cruises and the food at NYX is on the higher end even beating out more expensive competitors. We will be back for sure.

staff was so nice and kind they go above and beyond our housekeeping guy abel alvarez is the best if you can ask for a housekeeping person to ask for him he went above and beyond and organized our stuff for us that was just around the room such a shoesand he always brought us fresh towels every day and even mopped for us. Breakfast was delicious and dinner was average the Italian restaurant downstairs was OK but umami restaurant was excellent. our room was very nice and very clean. Hotel has daily activities whether it’s during the day or at night such as karaoke, and they also have fitness activities during the day like boxing and yoga. and I would say this is a good resort to stay at if you’re getting picked up by shuttles to go and do activities because you’ll get picked up first and dropped off first too.

Staff was helpful and friendly. You have to get up early to reserve beach chairs in the shade. Easy access from beach to pool and rooms. It is hard to make reservations at the restaurants (chianti and umami) even if you get up at 7am. You can only reserve for day of and next day, cannot book ahead. We were in this hotel for 2 weeks, which gave us 2 umami and 4 chianti allowable dinners and were only able to schedule 3 of our 6 allowable reservations. Umami is especially difficult to get into. The main restaurant, balam, changes meals daily so it isn't always the same food which is nice. The lobby does have timeshare salesman, but they were nice, we just had to avoid eye contact. Beware the local mall. It will bankrupt you. Overall, we were very happy with our vacation.

Good & Bad: The room was clean & roomy. Don’t stay near the front of the hotel because the traffic is extremely loud and there are hundreds of motorcycles racing at all hrs. of the night keeping you awake. They’re doing major construction next-door so you will hear jackhammers and pounding 24 hrs a day. There’s also lots of stairs. They only gave us one wash rag for two ppl and we had to ask daily for more. The breakfast buffet offered HOT DOGS instead of sausage, ham or bacon. It’s not “All Inclusive” as advertised. At Umami, the Asian restaurant, you can only order the selected items with a star and can only eat there 1X. Chianti Italian is 1X only too, although both restaurants were good. So basically you are left to eat the buffet the rest of the time or the Mexican outdoor restaurant by the beach, which was pretty good. The alcoholic drinks seemed to have very little alcohol. We had to drink 2X’s the amount of drinks that we normally would. I think it’s because they want you to tip each time you get a drink, so they make more tips. Upon check-in, you will be bombarded by the excursion reps trying to get you to book right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful but some had trouble speaking or understanding English. The hotel arranged our shuttle to and from the airport and we were pleased with the company they use. The spa is fantastic! I had 2 massages! Overall I’d give a 7.5 out of 10.

Overall it was good. The buffet is not open for lunch. Pool is smaller and can be crowded. The beach is quite nice. Rooms and most of the staff are very good and the bed was comfortable.

Some strange rules such as having to wear closed toe shoes to dine at the buffet even though Crocs are acceptable and it is a beachside resort. Also the Taco Stand dining and the coffee shop are not included in the all inclusive package.

Wait staff at the beach and in bars and restaurants are great!

If you are in the Street side it is very noisy due to Motorcycles and Sirens making sleeping difficult

The highlights for me were the service and the food!

We originally stayed in a standard issue room, and let me tell you, the upgrade of $50 per night for a large room with a balcony and ocean view is totally worth it! Our standard issue room was very dark and dingy with a window that didn’t open.

It’s worth noting that there’s only one pool at this resort and it’s a non-stop party. The whole resort is pretty loud. You have to go way down the beach to enjoy a moment of peace. So, if you are a “read by the pool” type person, this resort is probably not for you!

The food was top notch. We are so impressed with this hotel we will be staying here again. I do wish they had Mexican food night in the Balam more than once a week. Also, it would be cool if the hot tub was open until 9 pm or 10pm so you could have some relaxing time after dinner. My buddy Caleb said it was the best week of his life at this resort.Great job NYX staff. Keep up the great work.

Where do we start? After looking at some negative reviews online we wwre sceptical but dont let those haters fool you! Haters are never gonna be happy. The moment we stepper in the hotel we were greeted with a kind bellman Miguel took out luggages to our room and the check in was smooth! This was my first time in Cancun but my wife has been here many times. The first fay we arrived pretty late but our room was so vlose to everything. The room was spacious and clean. Except i would have recommended the designers to put a fan or vent in the washroom which needed one. Besides that the beach was amazing! It was warm and we had a cabana on most days and loved the pool and the jacuzzi. At our first two nighrs the moon welcomed us bright in the sky and we also saw the blood moon at 4am how cool is that! The restaurant staff were above and beyond kind special thank you to Shannik, Karla and Viviana they had such a welcoming personality and always made sure we were happy. Shannik was such a sweet server and we loved seeing here eveyday and talking to her was amazing! Their kindness will never be forgotten. The food was amazing. The gym was nice and I trained with a boxing coach for a couple of days who apparently is a peofessional not sure why they didnt have that for all days. The view the ocean and the spa was amazing! We will miss our stay and the warmt of the Mexican people. On behalf of my esposa and me gracias por todo!

The good:

The staff was outstanding at every turn.
The food was above average.
The room was big (standard room) and the bed comfortable.
The A/C was robust.
Great beach with plenty of chairs and palapas.

The bad:

Only one breakfast restaurant.
Only one lunch restaurant.
Too many ( silly) rules, such as men have to wear shoes to dinner, but not to breakfast or lunch, but women can wear scandals all the time.
Only two bars.

The staff was amazing! It’s a smaller property with not very many places to lay by the pool. The beach chairs aren’t very comfortable, they sag and you can feel the crossbars. The rooms aren’t soundproof at all, so you hear everything in the hallway. Or was a good value though, and we enjoyed our time!

upgraded the room when we got there. the standard room has no windows lol. overall, pretty great stay. there was some seaweed present but nothing horrible. beach was still amazing. pool is kind of small but the resort is more intimate in general. for the price it's a great resort!

Pros: beautiful beach side location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Enough daily activities to keep you occupied. Plenty of lounging chairs at the beach. Room is spacious and clean. However, the refrigerator and coffee tray is not well stocked.
Cons: 4 out of 6 people in my group got food poisoning (vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache, queasiness). Only 1 restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch (although there is a hotdog cart open during the lunch hour by the pool). It is very difficult to make reservations for their premier dinner restaurants: Chianti and Umami. The menu and quantity for all-inclusive guests at these restaurants are also limited. For example, at Chianti all inclusive guests are allowed to order 1 appetizer/soup/salad, 1 entree, 1 dessert. Although the breads at Chianti are excellent.

Almost all of the buffett food was just barely warm. Only got food was whatever was being made on the grill. Includes breakfast and dinner. There was one good night, the Asian theme dinner. At the deck restaurant the fries and potato wedges were cold, as if a bunch get made and left to be used, instead of being made fresh as this restaurant is made to order food. Fridge was empty when we arrived in our room, had to call to have that stocked. Safe battery low, so had to call for that to be taken care of. That was just the first night. Then we moved rooms because the traffic was so loud, which we had to pay a difference of a bit over $500 Canadian, just to get a room and again the fridge needed stocking, the air conditioning wasn't working properly, so had to have that looked at, the music echoed so loud from the lobby, approximately 10pm until midnight. The smell that comes from the shower drain is like sewage and there is no fan or window in the bathroom. Most of the workers were very kind, helpful and friendly.

We mentioned we are on our honeymoon vacation and they upgraded our room for free and even included a free bottle of wine with chocolate-covered strawberries! We enjoyed the meals served at all the restaurants they offer.

We stayed at Hotel NYX Cancun last week, and it was our first time visiting Cancun. Overall, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is not a huge luxury resort, but that’s actually what we liked about it. The hotel has a very nice design and a cozy resort-style character that feels relaxed rather than overwhelming. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

The beach was beautiful, with great access and lovely views. We chose the all-inclusive option and were very happy with it, the food was tasty, varied, and well prepared, and the drinks were also very good. Everything felt well organized and easy.

Overall, Hotel NYX was a great choice for our first Cancun trip. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, relaxed resort with good food, drinks, and a nice beach, without the feeling of a massive crowded hotel.

Bedding had black curly hairs on it every single day despite being remade by housekeeping daily, staff was very nice and very accomodating. They don't advertise that you get one night only at Chianti and one night at Umami, otherwise you have to eat at the buffet which was borderline inedible. Breakfast was limited, should have more juice and coffee options maybe even some smoothies and everything under the heat lamps was cold. (also went to breakfast before 8 am every single day) Lastly about food is that the portions were small at the outdoor deck but luckily we could order more than one dish which we did daily. The pool seemed nice we didnt use it but the beach was absolutely stunning. Overall for the price it was totally fine, but construction on either side of the hotel was not only an eye sore but also noisy starting quite early in the morning.

Staff all very attentive, Hotel in great location, really good cocktails.

Booked deluxe room - first one we had was 632, tiny but with beautiful sea view.

The next day we asked to move to a room with 2 beds (2 friends not wanting to sleep in the same bed) and that was no problem. The room we were moved to - 2202- probably 3-4 times the size of the first, 2 huge beds and still had partial sea view.
We went to check with reception that it was still a deluxe room and were told it was.

I'm still confused how the rooms could have been so different but classed the same grade.

Let me start from the beginning. Right when we pulled up the first impresion was that this place needed and facelift. Checking in was strange.First the man who was checking us in could not speak very good English and when we got to our room it had two queen beds and not one king size bed.Went back down to desk to let them know we upgraded to a jr suite and we were told that was a request not a for sure thing!Our room was bare bones with two beds and one small chair and a small refrigerator.That's it!Very poor lighting in room also.Expedia said this was an all inclusive hotel but it was not at all!No room service and special things on the menu were not included as was some of the drinks.Had to make reservations for the two resturants they had but almost impossible to get in before 9 at night.Way to late to eat.Only two resturants to eat at.One buffet which the food was always warm to cool not hot! The lunch eatry was usually not very hot and with our goup of six we got out meals at different times and they never brought the dessert we ordered!Now on to the pool.Only one not so big pool for everyone.Only 24 chairs around the pool for the whole hotel and they were always covered with towel so very hard to get a chair unless you got up before the sunrise to get one. Also there was water aerobics at 12 and volley ball at 2 which both of them took up most of the pool so no room to swim or relax in the pool at that time which was most of the afternoon.Much more to tell but no more r

The staff was so welcoming and lovely, always serving with a smile and super attentive. Our room was fantastic, with stunning ocean views, spot on clean and modern, with all we needed: safe box, wardrobe, chairs, air con, great shower... This hotel exceeded our expecations. Not being a fan of the Zona Hotelera, this hotel really inmerse you into a Caribbean experience where you feel absolutely spoilt. I can't fault anything. The buffet was pretty decent quality and very varied, with options for everyone. I would highly recommend it.
