The property was awesome. Everyone was so amazing. Juan jose the bartender was always on top of getting us drinks. My girlfriend wanted everyone to know you have a amazing employee. The food was top notch. We are so impressed with this hotel we will be staying here again. I do wish they had Mexican food night in the Balam more than once a week. Also, it would be cool if the hot tub was open until 9 pm or 10pm so you could have some relaxing time after dinner. My buddy Caleb said it was the best week of his life at this resort.Great job NYX staff. Keep up the great work.

Where do we start? After looking at some negative reviews online we wwre sceptical but dont let those haters fool you! Haters are never gonna be happy. The moment we stepper in the hotel we were greeted with a kind bellman Miguel took out luggages to our room and the check in was smooth! This was my first time in Cancun but my wife has been here many times. The first fay we arrived pretty late but our room was so vlose to everything. The room was spacious and clean. Except i would have recommended the designers to put a fan or vent in the washroom which needed one. Besides that the beach was amazing! It was warm and we had a cabana on most days and loved the pool and the jacuzzi. At our first two nighrs the moon welcomed us bright in the sky and we also saw the blood moon at 4am how cool is that! The restaurant staff were above and beyond kind special thank you to Shannik, Karla and Viviana they had such a welcoming personality and always made sure we were happy. Shannik was such a sweet server and we loved seeing here eveyday and talking to her was amazing! Their kindness will never be forgotten. The food was amazing. The gym was nice and I trained with a boxing coach for a couple of days who apparently is a peofessional not sure why they didnt have that for all days. The view the ocean and the spa was amazing! We will miss our stay and the warmt of the Mexican people. On behalf of my esposa and me gracias por todo!

The good:

The staff was outstanding at every turn.
The food was above average.
The room was big (standard room) and the bed comfortable.
The A/C was robust.
Great beach with plenty of chairs and palapas.

The bad:

Only one breakfast restaurant.
Only one lunch restaurant.
Too many ( silly) rules, such as men have to wear shoes to dinner, but not to breakfast or lunch, but women can wear scandals all the time.
Only two bars.

The staff was amazing! It’s a smaller property with not very many places to lay by the pool. The beach chairs aren’t very comfortable, they sag and you can feel the crossbars. The rooms aren’t soundproof at all, so you hear everything in the hallway. Or was a good value though, and we enjoyed our time!

Pros: beautiful beach side location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Enough daily activities to keep you occupied. Plenty of lounging chairs at the beach. Room is spacious and clean. However, the refrigerator and coffee tray is not well stocked.
Cons: 4 out of 6 people in my group got food poisoning (vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache, queasiness). Only 1 restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch (although there is a hotdog cart open during the lunch hour by the pool). It is very difficult to make reservations for their premier dinner restaurants: Chianti and Umami. The menu and quantity for all-inclusive guests at these restaurants are also limited. For example, at Chianti all inclusive guests are allowed to order 1 appetizer/soup/salad, 1 entree, 1 dessert. Although the breads at Chianti are excellent.

Almost all of the buffett food was just barely warm. Only got food was whatever was being made on the grill. Includes breakfast and dinner. There was one good night, the Asian theme dinner. At the deck restaurant the fries and potato wedges were cold, as if a bunch get made and left to be used, instead of being made fresh as this restaurant is made to order food. Fridge was empty when we arrived in our room, had to call to have that stocked. Safe battery low, so had to call for that to be taken care of. That was just the first night. Then we moved rooms because the traffic was so loud, which we had to pay a difference of a bit over $500 Canadian, just to get a room and again the fridge needed stocking, the air conditioning wasn't working properly, so had to have that looked at, the music echoed so loud from the lobby, approximately 10pm until midnight. The smell that comes from the shower drain is like sewage and there is no fan or window in the bathroom. Most of the workers were very kind, helpful and friendly.

We stayed at Hotel NYX Cancun last week, and it was our first time visiting Cancun. Overall, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is not a huge luxury resort, but that’s actually what we liked about it. The hotel has a very nice design and a cozy resort-style character that feels relaxed rather than overwhelming. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

The beach was beautiful, with great access and lovely views. We chose the all-inclusive option and were very happy with it, the food was tasty, varied, and well prepared, and the drinks were also very good. Everything felt well organized and easy.

Overall, Hotel NYX was a great choice for our first Cancun trip. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, relaxed resort with good food, drinks, and a nice beach, without the feeling of a massive crowded hotel.

Bedding had black curly hairs on it every single day despite being remade by housekeeping daily, staff was very nice and very accomodating. They don't advertise that you get one night only at Chianti and one night at Umami, otherwise you have to eat at the buffet which was borderline inedible. Breakfast was limited, should have more juice and coffee options maybe even some smoothies and everything under the heat lamps was cold. (also went to breakfast before 8 am every single day) Lastly about food is that the portions were small at the outdoor deck but luckily we could order more than one dish which we did daily. The pool seemed nice we didnt use it but the beach was absolutely stunning. Overall for the price it was totally fine, but construction on either side of the hotel was not only an eye sore but also noisy starting quite early in the morning.

Booked deluxe room - first one we had was 632, tiny but with beautiful sea view.

The next day we asked to move to a room with 2 beds (2 friends not wanting to sleep in the same bed) and that was no problem. The room we were moved to - 2202- probably 3-4 times the size of the first, 2 huge beds and still had partial sea view.
We went to check with reception that it was still a deluxe room and were told it was.

I'm still confused how the rooms could have been so different but classed the same grade.

Let me start from the beginning. Right when we pulled up the first impresion was that this place needed and facelift. Checking in was strange.First the man who was checking us in could not speak very good English and when we got to our room it had two queen beds and not one king size bed.Went back down to desk to let them know we upgraded to a jr suite and we were told that was a request not a for sure thing!Our room was bare bones with two beds and one small chair and a small refrigerator.That's it!Very poor lighting in room also.Expedia said this was an all inclusive hotel but it was not at all!No room service and special things on the menu were not included as was some of the drinks.Had to make reservations for the two resturants they had but almost impossible to get in before 9 at night.Way to late to eat.Only two resturants to eat at.One buffet which the food was always warm to cool not hot! The lunch eatry was usually not very hot and with our goup of six we got out meals at different times and they never brought the dessert we ordered!Now on to the pool.Only one not so big pool for everyone.Only 24 chairs around the pool for the whole hotel and they were always covered with towel so very hard to get a chair unless you got up before the sunrise to get one. Also there was water aerobics at 12 and volley ball at 2 which both of them took up most of the pool so no room to swim or relax in the pool at that time which was most of the afternoon.Much more to tell but no more r

The staff was so welcoming and lovely, always serving with a smile and super attentive. Our room was fantastic, with stunning ocean views, spot on clean and modern, with all we needed: safe box, wardrobe, chairs, air con, great shower... This hotel exceeded our expecations. Not being a fan of the Zona Hotelera, this hotel really inmerse you into a Caribbean experience where you feel absolutely spoilt. I can't fault anything. The buffet was pretty decent quality and very varied, with options for everyone. I would highly recommend it.

We did not get the class of room we booked. The noise and view were horrible large industrial fans outside the room were so loud and that was also the view. Unhelpful unfriendly staff and most did not speak English. No entertainment venue just loud music in lobby bar. Couldn’t get drinks in restaurants except beer or wine. Didn’t even have Kahlua anywhere. Only 24 pool chairs for 400+ guests. Buffet food was barely warm. I could go on and on. Would not recommend or ever stay here again.

Had a fantastic stay at NYX Cancun. My sister and I went for a girls trip. It was very clean, the food was good, very close to everything (shopping malls, pharmacy). We did not use any of the spa services. The waiters and waitresses were fantastic. We participated in some of the activities which was a lot of fun as well, those staff are also super kind.

A few things that could have been better - there is no dresser to put your clothes, they only have bottled water in the fridge in the rooms (not something you could get at the bars/restaurants), the schedule for which restaurants are open on certain days were not disclosed to us. Thankfully we went to the sushi night the night before as it was not open Mondays. They also didn’t tell us the themed meals for the Buffett ahead of time. Not ideal for those traveling with small children. Overall, the complaints are minimal and we had a great time. I’ve already told others to stay at the resort and I’d absolutely come back!

Overall, NYX Hotel Cancun is a good hotel in an excellent location. The property is clean, well-maintained, and sits on a beautiful stretch of beach.

The rooms were clean and well serviced, with housekeeping doing a consistently good job. The beachfront is a major highlight—wide, beautiful sand with plenty of amenities and space to relax. The location is also convenient to nearby shopping and restaurants.

The biggest drawback was the food. Most meals were marginal at best, and even the specialty restaurants did not meet expectations. After the first couple of days, we chose to eat off-property for most lunches and dinners, though breakfast was generally acceptable.

In summary, if you’re looking for a clean hotel in a great location with a beautiful beach, NYX is a solid option. However, if food quality is a top priority for your all-inclusive stay, you may be disappointed.

Beach was beautiful and service in the beach was great. The food was not good though. Hibachi was good but they only seat 30 per night so we had to eat at ten. We paid really cheap for the trip so it wasn’t that bad, but it’s not a place you want to spend a lot of money on. The coffee shop wasn’t included and I had to pay 7 dollars to get one. For all inclusive, I feel like everything should be included.

I have stayed at four different resorts in the hotel district this winter. NYX is the only one I will go back to, and will. Every single employee makes you feel at home. Fast easy check in. All the food was outstanding. The Beach is clean and plenty of lounge chairs. Big clean pool. My wife really enjoyed the walk to the mall every day. Give this place a try, you won't regret it.

The rooms were a great size. We were initially placed on the PB floor, which was a bit musty. Switching rooms was somewhat complicated, but the staff did make an effort by bringing in a dehumidifier. The only setback was dining, as we were a family of 10 and accommodations were limited. Overall, it’s a small, quaint, and clean place. I would stay again, but with a much smaller group.

The room was not what we had reserved. There was only partial view and had bad odor in the bathroom. When we complained the next morning, the staff ( David) was very helpful and changed our room to a much nicer room for which we are very thankful.
The hotel was nice but had too many steps or a ramp to reach the front door. Similarly there were too many steps or a ramp to go to the beach and the lunch area and specialty restaurants. This hotel may not be suitable for seniors with mobility issues. My wife and I are seniors.
There were sea weeds on the beach that were not cleared.

They put a hold on our visa credit card for 3000 pesos on arrival, which is perfectly normal. However on check-out instead of removing the hold they put through the transaction ( a debit and a credit) on our credit card. That was a mistake because we got charged bank charges by the credit card company. After we got back we complained to the hotel. They didn't seem to understand. So I called Visa. They understood that the hotel had made a mistake and thankfully Visa agreed to cancel the charges.

I work for Hilton Hotel and my husband works for Best Western hotel so we are very educated in Hospitality . The room was amazing! We upgraded with the help of Alejandro at front desk. My Grandaughters room was not very pleasant so again Alejandro immediately changed her to another room which was fabulous, he was exceptional at making guests comfortable and solving problems. We had quite a few issues when we arrived but the staff here was incredible in making sure our stay was great
Another absolutely incredible staff member was Stephanie, she coordinated the water games and karaoke etc. She was so friendly and took time to introduce herself and include everyone. She is a gem. Daniel at Chianti was an incredible server and made us feel like Royalty. Hugo in the buffet restaurant always remembered our drink orders.The staff at this Hotel are exceptional!

We stayed at Hotel NYX for our honeymoon for eight nights and were very pleased with our stay. Overall, it was a great experience and we would gladly return.

Our room was modern, spotless, and well maintained by housekeeping. The hotel also provided thoughtful honeymoon extras, including a door banner, swan towels with rose petals, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Our room faced Boulevard Kukulcán, which was busy and noisy in the evenings. While noticeable at first, white noise helped at night and we adjusted after a couple of days.

All restaurants were good, with the buffet standing out. A few meals were underwhelming, but this was rare. The café was nice, though we wished more options were included in the all-inclusive, such as cold brew or iced coffee, and some days it was difficult to get coffee.

Facilities and common areas were extremely clean. Bartenders were fast and friendly. Beach access was excellent, though some guests ignored no-smoking signage and lounge chair rules. The pool was well sized and never felt crowded, and the hot tubs were a great amenity. Interiors, landscaping, and staff were all excellent.

Overall, Hotel NYX was clean, relaxing, and welcoming, with only minor drawbacks. We would recommend it and would happily return.

The room was spacious but had a few issues- the drain in the sink was clogging. Maintenance had to come fix. There was also little gnats around the room. And a dehumidifier we had to keep emptying.
The food was sub par. Food at Cianti was ok. Never went to the other sushi restaurant as the host desk never made the reservations they wrote down. Ended up having to go out to eat that night. the Balam restaurant lets its food sit out way too long. Nothing really special to get excited about.
The chairs by the pool are nice if you can get one. People wake up and put their stuff on them to save it. Even tho they have rules to prevent this .
The beach was nice- location is decent.

The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was not the best. There were a lot of maintenance issues, mainly plumbing. The hotel smelled like sewage a lot, toilets clogging, toilets leaking, showers not working. The rooms were very basic, nothing fancy.

The Italian restaurant was a complete let down. Not good at all. The Japanese restaurant was AMAZING. The buffet for all the other meals, was very up and down. Not a lot of options, but they always had fruit and bread out! But the food was stale or very plain a lot of the time. The snack bar on the beach had yummy nachos! The deck restaurant was also very good! But not the bacon burgers! The coconut ice cream was the best part.

The bars were both very good, all drinks we tried were amazing. My favorite was the mango margarita with tajin salt rim.

This hotel does not have very many entertainment options. There is yoga, volleyball, water aerobics, bracelet making, and boxing. There was karaoke and a dj most nights in the lobby bar. And the had live music in the buffet and Italian restaurant most nights.

The elevators are very slow and the only building that has them is the main building. Don’t stay on the first or second floors in the main building, they are very loud when the “night club” is in full swing. The spa was very nice and well worth it!

All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again, but it was still a great vacation!

You are required to wear long pants to dinner at Balam - the buffet. They have very aggressive sales people in the lobby. Minimal seating around the pool. Pizza at The Deck is not good. My girlfriend got a stomach virus. Standard room is small. Not bad though just don’t expect too much. Service is hit or miss. Ocean is very pretty and the hot tub was warm.

Where do I begin? The staff at NYX deserves a 5. The grounds deserve a 5. The room deserves a 3 - it smelled moldy the entire time and the king-size bed was far too bouncy to get a good night’s sleep in; however, the cleaning team was great and we came back to a clean room every night. A little more about the room - the front desk staff claimed that they ran out of king bed rooms (which we had paid for through Expedia), but if we wanted to upgrade for an extra $50 a night, they could accommodate us right away. The alternative was a room with two queen beds. Normally, we’d be fine with two queens but this vacation was supposed to be special for us so we caved and upgraded to the bigger room with a perfect view of the Gulf from our private balcony. The view really was beautiful. Oh, and they gave us a dinner voucher to the taco restaurant 🙄. The first evening, our group went to dinner at The Deck. Right on the beach - lovely. Then we got our food. This is where things really went south. There’s not enough room for me to tell viewers everything. Just know that the food gets a “1”. The meat is mechanically modified, according to one member in our group who happens to work for a large food distributor. He described how they do it and it’s gross, but made sense after tasting the meat. Sushi at Umami is very good, but hibachi chx and steak are fake. Chianti is good. Beware the dress code for the buffet, Umami, and Chianti.

Hotel's greatest asserts are the beach and the personnel. Employees were most helpful and always willing to make your stay enjoyable. Bartenders were great mixologists.
A few minor disappointments:
Could not bring even a cup of coffee out of the restaurant
Only sit down restaurants were specialty dining
The house wine was undrinkable, in my opinion

This hotel was wonderful! Beautiful sandy beach. The umami restaurant was amazing. Breakfast at the buffet was good! Dinner was alright. Walkable to the mall! Saw the dolphins at the aquarium

Let’s start with the good. The people are great and provide a great service. Carlos at the pool bar is a powerhouse. This guy is works hard and does amazing work. Armando is right next to Carlos always working hard to make your stay amazing. Cindy and Thresita are your go to at the beach they hustle to keep you taken care of and never let you down. Stephanie is super fun and super nice. She does a great job bringing the party all day! Now for the not so great. The food is just ok I’d describe it as your local all you can eat buffet quality. Some things are good and others not so great. Find what you can survive on for your stay. The Room is clean but could use some work I am not going to pick it apart. We stayed in room 813 couldn’t figure out the ceiling fan and the outlers/receptacles won’t retain the cord because they are worn out. The hallway outside the room can be very loud and the doors are very “thin” so if you’re a light sleeper beware. Some how on the first night the ironing board fell out of the closet and threw the doors . I thought the door was being kicked in by the cartel. Gave the wife and I a heart attack.Some things to be aware of. It’s a smaller hotel so it has it what I would consider a smaller size pool. There are limited seating around the pool so it’s tough to get one get there early. Most of their seating is on the beach, but it can still fill up quickly when we went in first week of January. The hot tub closes at 7pm

Hotel is very clean. Beach is beautiful, waves were rough but still swimmable. It would be nice if there were more seats available on the beach and the pool. You must arrive early to have a seat. Resort is small but walkable. Room is basic but spacious. I would say first day food was pretty good- appetizers were really good, entrees were mid - chicken sandwich and fries came out looking frozen and just not good. Buffet was kinda cold. Not too many options. We went around the buffet thinking it was gonna be all different food but both sides were the same. Tacos were good, at buffet which was a plus seafood was good but they didn’t have it everyday.

- we thought we paid for all inclusive in the original price but we had to add on $50 per day to add Italian restaurant and room service, coconuts/pineapples, etc.

-we only got coconuts one day and then were told they didn’t have any the next days

Great hotel, great location, delicious food, beautiful views! It was a wonderful vacation for us, I highly recommend it. The only downside was the butler who wouldn't leave the room without a tip. We didn't have much cash on us, only larger sums. He didn't leave until he received the money. It was very stressful, especially since we were tired from the trip. Finally, when we needed help with our luggage after such a large tip, the butler sent someone else to help.

The buffet could have been better. Everything started tasting the same after the second day. The was this weird musty smell in the main building and that might have been due to work being work being done. It was off putting.

The one positive is the staff, restaurant and bar staff are genuinely kind, and that’s clearly why this resort gets better reviews. It’s also convenient and close to La Isla shopping center.

Live music plays until midnight in the lobby, and after that guests continue gathering in the lobby and outside. Because the resort is very small and all rooms face the same central path, noise carries everywhere, there’s basically no sound isolation.

The resort is much smaller than it appears online. Even new guests we spoke to were surprised by the size. If you don’t mind noise, it may work for you. If you want peace and sleep, look elsewhere.

The standard room was very disappointing — it had no window, and a humidifier ran constantly due to the dampness. Noise from the lobby carried into the room at night, making it hard to sleep. There were no basic amenities like conditioner or any extra toiletries. We asked about upgrading, but the only option offered was a suite, which was quite expensive. For lunch and dinner, you have to order from the menu as there’s no buffet or 24-hour café available. The property also has only one small pool.

Hotel NYX is a deceptive and terrible place to vacation. Their “all-inclusive” is not truly all-inclusive. At check-in, they try to sell you on their “upgraded all-inclusive” for $100 per person per night. When you’re done with the front desk spiel, the info desk conveniently placed next to the elevator won’t let you pass until you agree to attend their 90-minute breakfast presentation, where they try hard to push you to buy into their time-share.
My wife and I arrived tired from the early morning flight, hungry, and just wanted to check in, change, and grab a bite to eat. We didn’t want to listen to pushy salespeople trying to sell us something we never wanted in the first place. But the disappointment continued when we walked into our upgraded sunset suite. We thought it would be nice and quiet, but little did we know it faces the very busy street so instead of a good night’s sleep, we both woke up numerous times to the sound of loud car and motorcycle exhaust and horns.
The furniture in our room was also very beat up and damaged. A chunk of my nightstand looked like it was literally hammered off. And the rooms had a funky smell, the kind that’s present in an old, rundown motel.
The following morning we were hoping to get some rest but were woken up at 8:30am again by the pushy sales people trying to sell us a time-share.
Food options at this resort are terrible. The food is gross and the options are minimal. We lasted only one day here and booked a different resort.
