It was an older property, but everything was clean and very nice. There’s a nice pool area and the beach was great. It was very quiet and tranquil. The rooms were huge, but they were almost empty and felt cold/uninviting. That would be my only complaint…the room decor needs help. Otherwise the staff was great

they tricked us with the good and nice pictures, jacuzzi was not working, there was no napkins in the room and when we asked for it, they gave us 2 dirty towels instead, the shower glass door was very dirty, the room key was not locking after we requested to fix then they fixed it, there was no manager at night at the hotel,

Don’t judge this book by its cover!!! This should be the title for the review. First and foremost the staff was very accommodating and personable from the moment you stepped into the building. Very spacious and clean rooms. For people that are looking for peace and quiet it is the perfect place. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it needs a little TLC which they are currently working on. I felt like I had the place all to myself which was great!!!

We had two rooms.The beds were hard as a rock. There were no lamps in one room and the other only had one. The rooms were outdated.
It lacked a lot of amenities. The storm doors did not lock and it did close properly.
Give this place a few years to bring it up to date.
The location is great. The decor of the hotel is nice, the rooms really need to be updated especially the beds.

I wish they had vending machines that we can buy drinks in the middle night if we wanted to.

Be prepared to bring everything you need not even coffee is provided. The host was okay, but the sheets and bedding quality were not the best. The property feels old and the hotel definitely needs better maintenance and updates.

Hotel y Museo Casa Turquesa

I stayed here for one night and unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

While the location is nice and the price is reasonable, the property itself is highly outdated and shows signs of wear, especially in many exterior areas. More concerning, however, were serious safety and security issues.

Check-in around 5:00 PM was quick and easy. After dinner, my wife, my son, and I went to sleep. At approximately 1:30 AM, my cellphone rang from an unfamiliar Mexican number. The caller claimed to be hotel security working with the police. They said they had knocked on my door earlier, which never happened. They then stated they were searching for a stolen car connected to drugs.

The call quickly became aggressive, and the person eventually claimed to be part of a cartel. This felt like an attempted extortion or identity scam. We immediately hung up, blocked the number, and called 911.

I am not accusing the hotel of being involved, but I find it very concerning that your phone number is the first thing requested at check-in, and this incident occurred the same night we stayed there.

What was most disappointing is that the hotel offered no apology, explanation, or compensation after we reported the incident. There was no sense of concern for our safety or well-being.

Needless to say, we won't stay again.

We had a very enjoyable stay in our 2 bedroom ocean view room (more of a villa) this February. The hotel is very artsy with some religious and nudist works displayed which some may not appreciate. The hotel is very weathered -its not a fancy 5 star hotel (although it must have been back in the day), the water wasnt always hot and the toilets didnt flush the first time but the central location, gorgeous quiet beach, relaxing and calm ambiance, grand open spaces, comfortable clean beds and superior customer service made it worth it many times over!

It can’t be better… I left in love with the place with the people who work there with the food they cook. Everything was so wonderful that I I don’t know where to start. I work for the industry in NYC and I know about hospitality and they went above and beyond. The place is so cozy and it’s beautiful, location is very convenient. Its clean and the staff is super friendly.

The staff was made up of wonderful people. The issue was the room, it felt like old and there was mould in the shower, saw a roach in the washroom. The biggest issue was the sliding door that leads toward the pool area did not lock properly.

Wonderful staff, amazing location and view. Absolutely perfect. Just concern is, some of the art materials, such as statutes, art pictures are not suitable for the kids, so, if you are couple without kids, the place is great, otherwise, you might think some other places that good for the kids.

Con: Aside from the hotel, being old, which I knew before going, the beds were extremely hard, the bathrooms were gross, the shower head had so much buildup on it that it’s sprayed in different directions and the water would not drain so you were standing in a 3 inch puddle of water. The chairs down on the beach were extremely uncomfortable because there’s no pads and they’re made of that hard white plastic so after sitting on them for about a half hour your butt begins to hurt; additionally, they only had two adjustments flat or sitting completely straight up, you could not recline. The pool is old but doable and there’s very limited staff so if you’re looking for a luxurious pool experience, you will not get that (which we knew ahead of time). There is a bartender, but they’re very limited and what they serve.

Pro: the staff was very nice and somewhat attentive. The view of the golf was amazing and the breakfast they served was very good.

This is a very old hotel. The beach was nice, but the roaches were not fun at all. We found live ones and dead ones. There's no blanket in the room. We found that at 10pm, wasn't a very crazy time, but the phone in the room did not work, and we could find no one at the front desk. Luckily we were from New York, we spent the night with our winter jackets.

The photos on the listing are extremely misleading. The property is in a very poor state and appears to be badly neglected. Below are factual issues I personally observed in the room:
•A complimentary water bottle that was already partially used
•Toilet not cleaned, with brown residue around the rim
•Sink taps and shower doors not cleaned
•Cupboards with no handles
•Mould and visible erosion on the bed frame
•Heavy white limescale staining and rust in the bath and shower
•Hot water only reached a temperature slightly above cold after running for at least 10 minutes; I had to wear slippers while showering
•Outdoor bathtub/jacuzzi was heavily stained, rusted, and not functioning. It looked unused for years, and I would not have used it even if it were operational. From the back balcony, I could see other rooms’ jacuzzis in the same condition.
•Room safe was rusting and had no working lock; this had to be requested from reception

I asked to change rooms and even offered to downgrade from a garden-view room to a standard room, but was told no other rooms were available.

Based on my experience, this property does not reflect its online photos or ratings. I strongly advise future guests to reconsider booking.

I love this Hotel! Clean, location right on the beach, beautiful view from he time you wake to go to bed. The staff are the reason why I go there on and the hotel is beautiful. I love being able to swim the ocean and the pool with both being so accessible.
The art collection in the hotel is fabulous.
Such good people. Employees are what make business’s what they are, they’re the best. All the food I’ve eaten there has been good. Oh, and it’s not crowded. I believe there’s 38 rooms? So a boutique hotel. This is my fave on all my travels I’ve been on. ENJOY!

Excellent quiet location right next to one if the best parts of the beach.Beautiful hotel with art displays everywhere and friendly and helpful staff. The fixtures& decor are past their best and need a lot of money spent on them but the rest of the hotel makes up for this so it's not for you if you knit pick but I would use again with no doubts. Nice little pool, great breakfast, huge rooms. I recommend the garden rooms as you have direct access to the pool - you don't need a high level as you get the amazing views from the pool area.

The hotel is an older one built in 1991. At one time it must have been very nice (a tour guide told me that Arnold Schwarzenegger and other celebrities have stayed there) but in recent years it has been neglected and now is in need of a renovation. For example the key to my room also fit the adjoining room lock, the sliding glass door did not close well or lock, hot water was not always available, the hair dryer did not work, electrical receptacles were loose and did not have a trim cover, the room safe was only a small metal box not secured to anything, the outdoor hot tub was not usable and the exterior needs both cosmetic and building repairs. But the staff was excellent, the location right on the beach. And I would stay there again in spite of the shortcomings.

I have stayed at this hotel for years, and the service and hotel in general have been declining. I came to Cancun to stay for 2 months, and the guys are the reception would not upgrade my room, give me an extended stay rate, and they gave me one of the worst rooms in the hotel.

Considering this time of year the hotel is almost empty, that is really bad business.

The restaurant is closed, elevator is still broken and you have to carry you own stuff up and down the stairs. Just really poor service tor the premium hotel rates they are still charging.

I wouldn't suggest staying here.

For an american, this place is like a really cheap motel but on a very beautiful beach. Inside the room, the bathroom etc is very outdated. The shower head seems to be 20 years old with soap scum all over it. Chipped paint everywhere. The management and people are okay but the place is just outdated and needs a serious renovation.

The proptery is dated. It seems when just built it was really.nice, but it has not neen renovated. I.e shower doors.not clean. hot.tub outside room needs to be removed as junk. Door sill needs replacing. Fan blades are discolored. Bed is set on slab of concrete, thus it was too hard. Towel colors.were not white, so not sure if they were.properly clean. Bathroom fixtures and hardwares had built up oxidation on it. Walk way into property paver stoves were uneven and old. Hotel has great architecture and potential. View from foyer to sea is a million dollar view, but thats it. Elevator does not work. Wont say what my.wife says, she.saw.in the pool

Hotel is somewhat rustic with some modern touches. Staff was friendly. Beautiful art on the walls. Large rooms need updating, jacuzzi looked like it hadn't been used in years. Pool is nice but no entertainment. No music, pool bar is very unequipped. In house restaurant is mediocre. Private beach was the best part, clean and nice. Basically if you want solitude and quiet at the beach or the pool, this is it.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful… I didn’t want to leave. My room, 307, looked out to the sea and was perfect for what I needed. It had a huge tiled deck to watch the sunrise from (although you could watch it from bed) and the room was exactly as pictured. The little restaurant by the sea was delightful. Oscar and the other waiters took good care of me while dining and at the pool.The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Here again, everything is as pictured. I read several negative reviews about this hotel and all I can figure is that maybe they were thinking they paid three times the amount. I will return to this hotel..

This hotel is a gem that doubles as an art gallery. It is stunning. Small, quiet and a luxurious feeling on a gorgeous stretch of beach with a lovely pool. While the staff at this property was very helpful and the location on the beach was beautiful this property is in need of repair. Patio doors locks don’t work although when asked they sent maintenance to install a working lock after letting us know that none of the patio door locks in the building work The bathtub on patio was covered with a piece of plywood Again they apologized because we didn’t get the room we paid for which was supposed to be a king not 2 queens. We did have a nice breakfast at the restaurant …..coffee was expensive Location is close to large mall and sorianos but the hotel is on a a bit of a hill so if walking or taking a bus the walk back is a bit of a climb Price was reasonable for the area.

Would have liked a microwave and coffee pot. There is a frig. But can’t heat up food and coffee not available til 8. Places around here aren’t available for coffee til 7. Would have liked to sit outside and drink coffee while watching the sunrise. Walking up and down the drive was not good. Unstable blocks. Felt bad for the man doing it with the walker. Do not recommend for disabled people and would want to leave to explore. I am disabled and it was hard on me walking up and down the drive. I will not be able to stay here again. It is beautiful and has great access to beach, but some people want to leave and do things offsite.

The only thing I liked was that it had beach access close by. The staff was nice always. But this place is very old and in need of tons of care.

I did not get what I paid for and the manager of property was not willing to fix or accommodate my week stay. I purchased balcony and king bed, which I did not get king bed but 2 single beds and no balcony but floor access and no Wi-Fi. The bathroom was not ever cleaned and it was very noticeable, the curtains are filthy dirty and torn bed sheets, the moping never happened. the dusting never happened, the place is very old and needs a lot of remodeling. It's a good thing that we were hardly there. just to sleep, but even at that the beds are super super hard. The pool is cold and need of Maintenace. Just not what I expected. the property surroundings are very dirty too no cleaning is ever done to property. lots of cats, I counted like over 50. overpriced for what it is worth. The front area is the only thing nice it is part of some type of museum, so nice artwork.

Beautiful White House facing the turquoise sea

The hotel is beautiful, it’s a stunning older building rich with Mexican art and culture. The pool area is lovely, the hotel boasts a stunning view of the luscious turquoise Caribbean Sea, and the private beach is a huge perk!

A downside is that the taps in the bathroom and the shower head need renovating, they are outdated and don’t work as well as they should do.

Another downside is the mattresses aren’t very good quality, they feel hard and wouldn’t be ideal for people who have back problems and people who like a softer more supportive mattress.

Although the elevator does not work, the people who work in the hotel are very lovely and will offer to carry your luggage up the stairs.

Another huge perk is the hotel is in a fantastic location! Right next to a great mall and many supermarkets, restaurants, bars and even near a bus stop which is only $1 USD to ride.

Overall, if you like a simple stay in a stunning historic Mexican building, this place is for you. If you prefer somewhere more modern, I don’t think this place would be for you

Friendly staff, poor upkeep.

So I’d like to start of by saying the service by the front desk staff was amazing. They are very sweet and I could tell they really cared about the guest experience. With that said, the property needs a lot of improvement.

Our room was unfortunately very dirty. The indoor jacuzzi has multiple layers of filth, as well as every inch of our room. The floors, bathroom, kitchen were all dusty and had a lot of limescale build up. And there were ants everywhere when we arrived.

The WiFi was also non existent.

The beach chairs could all be replaced. They were not comfortable and made it unenjoyable to lay on the beach.

This property is located in a prime spot, has a lot of potential but it’s not being used.

Used to be a beautiful hotel a longtime ago. Unfortunately the owner left it un-maintained. Still could be with remodeling. Great location, nice and quiet. I wish I didn’t have to leave such a bad review, but truly the hotel was run down. The room I was in had exposed electrical with no outlet or switch cover. The elevator was not working and had not work for a long time. The room I was in the floor had holes and was uneven. None of the jacuzzi there were 2 didn’t work at all. Stay away, I don’t know how they got such a high rating on the platform. If I could unload pictures I would. There was also ants in the bedroom, on the bed, the balcony door didn’t lock, No tv in the bedroom, no microwave, no coffee or coffee maker. Limited menu at the restaurant. Like the staff there said the owner was too busy and no longer was interested in this once beautiful hotel. I hope that they take this review seriously and make the investment to remodel the hotel. The lobby is truly beautiful, with a great view. Sorry for the bad review, unfortunately it is the truth.

Este lugar esta excelente desde donde está localizado, en una delas playas mas bonitas de Cancun. La Area donde esta situado es excelente y muy segura. Lo mejor del hotel es el servicio y lo que mas recomiendo es la comida es muy rica y pregunten por Oscar ya que es el mesero y el les brindara un excelente servicio ya sea en la alberca terraza o el personal mente les lleva su comida a su recamara. En este hotel te hacen sentir como en casa..

Beautiful art and view, falling apart premises.

Our view was breathtaking, but unfortunately the owners are letting the place fall apart. AC stopped working in the middle of the night and I cut my foot on broken granite from the bathtub. They’ve let entropy rule day, unfortunately. Hopefully they put a little effort in to fixing up what would otherwise have been a wonderful spot.

Nice stay, beds need upgraded

Our stay at Hotel Tuequesa in Cancun, Mexico, was a disappointing experience overall, despite the friendly and attentive staff.
The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, with hard, lumpy mattresses and flat, unsupportive pillows, making it impossible to get a restful night’s sleep.
The jacuzzi tub in our room was another letdown—it was old, chipped, and barely functional, with weak jets and an unhygienic appearance.
Dining was underwhelming, with no buffet and a limited à la carte menu that lacked variety and flavor, especially for a destination celebrated for its cuisine.
An unexpected issue was the presence of cats near the front gate of the property, which the staff feed with tuna cans. While the cats didn’t wander into dining or guest areas, their presence might be off-putting to some. Accessibility was also a significant concern: the hotel’s elevators were out of service, creating challenges for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues, and the steep, uneven driveway made navigating the property difficult, particularly for older visitors. While the staff were kind and eager to assist, their efforts couldn’t compensate for the hotel’s many shortcomings.
Until improvements are made, we would likely not return to this specific one within the future. Overall, a nice stay but beds could have changed a lot of aspects for our trip.
