lots of seaweeds, furniture's unattended, lacking in staff. room has no veranda, it has window, but you get humidity after a while. The room has no reachable electric outlets, bathroom has bathtub but sealed and not usable, no water coming out of the faucet waste of space! Dining buffet is not good as far as utensils, glasses, soup spoons, running out and not replaced. short staff, food not replaced right away, people tend to wait. ice cream is \"melt scream\" not ice cream, cones are stale and breads are hard, no jams, jellies, cream cheese around, you have to ask for everything. The resort has not many activities, no floating bar in the pool, the jacuzzi is cold, spa jacuzzi is also cold no snack back around, food not 24 hours open. main entrance door is always yucky with lots of fingerprints all day every day. The whole place is not enticing, needs a lot of attention on the facility, staff, and resort activities, etc.

Great resort, extremely friendly staff! Shout out Eddy from Bar Two! Pool and beach area are very nice. Room was excellent with always stocked fridge by the staff. Some of the food was a miss but we loved the brick oven pizza, Italian restaurant, and steak restaurant. Much older crowd which isn’t a bad thing but if you are young expect to be around an older crowd.

Best food we’ve had at an all inclusive. The staff were so friendly and accomodating. Going out of their way to make sure my proposal was perfect. Made us feel very welcomed.

The only two things I didn’t like was people were allowed to smoke wherever they wanted. So for those of us that enjoy clean air, it was unfortunate. For the most part, this wasn’t an issue but there were times where it would be unpleasant.
The other is not being able to book a few of the restaurants. It was a “first come first served” arrangement. Which was fair but in order to put your name down, you had to sit in front of the restaurant and wait (sometimes upwards of 2hrs). If you walked away or went to the bar, you would be skipped.

All in all, it was by far the best all inclusive we have ever been to. Not crowded at all, plenty of seating at the beach and by the pool and staff were incredible. 5/5 experience.

The rooms were clean and fhe air conditioners worked well. Karla and the entertainment crew was great. You have to stay for Friday Foam Party. As with any holidays there are always minor inconveniences, however the staff were quick to address our concerns and had the issue corrected immediately. The resort is a very good value for you money.

Sandos Cancun was a 10/10 experience in all areas of the stay. Food was top notch, delicious & easy to access; lots of variety in styles of food each night &&& drinks at the bars were DELICIOUS, quick & refreshing! The room was always cleaned throughly, bed made, provided clean towels &&& the cleaning staff was very nice! The entertainment was EXCELLENT! The nightly shows & parties, the POOL PARTIES were our favorite! Everyone who worked at Sandos, from the gentleman who brought around pastries at St. Trop restaurant to the pool party host to DANIEL the best water aerobics instructor, everyone did their job so well & truly made our experience great! WE WILL GO BACK!

Hotel Overall: Very nice small hotel. One elevator was a little fussy so sometimes there was a long wait for that. The staff were all very nice. We didn’t have an issue with any of them. Daniel, Karla, Juan, and Alex were all great out by the pool area. Daniel was our cabana server, and he was amazing. He took good care of us and in return we did the same for him. The only real complaint about the hotel in general would be the temperature. In the restaurants it was hot. Humid and hot to the point we were sweating some of the time. When I come inside from being in the sun all day I’d like it to be cool inside so I can have a break from the heat. It seemed as though it was broken in the whole hotel or just on very low because even the elevators, hallways, etc. were warm. We did enough our stay. It was a nice hotel.
Food: Buffet was hit or miss as they usually are. Some days better than others. The breakfast was probably the best part of it. We were disappointed that they didn’t have a big taco station daily with pico, guacamole, and chips. We would have liked to have had that on a daily basis. The outside #2 building with the menu options for breakfast/lunch was great. The fire baked pizzas were also really good but sometimes lacked topping options like mushrooms or onions. Basic stuff you would think they’d have. Not a big deal though. Their specialty restaurants were great. The best one being the Chinese one. It’s hard to get reservations for it though so book early.

Clean rooms good staff but some of them weren’t as good as I thought they should’ve been maybe it’s because I’m black. This occurred in the buffet when I asked one of the cooks a female for an omelette. She was very rude so I canceled and also some of the waiters I had to ask for Water or coffee instead of them asking me I had to ask them not all just some of them so I left a day early as far as the place itself it was very nice. Good amenities my room lost power for a couple hours. Don’t know why, but it’s a beautiful hotel resort I personally will not return there

Our overall experience at Sandos Cancun was okay. Starting with the positive aspects, the beach was beautiful and had bed gazebos available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The staff were very friendly, and although the rooms were slightly dated, they were well kept. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the rooms clean, and the resort’s close proximity to the airport was a nice feature.
Cons: The biggest downside was that the food was cold about 50% of the time. The resort next to Sandos blocked the sun around 3:30–4:00 p.m. at both the pools and the beach. On our second day, one of the elevators went out of service for a few days. The power also went out twice, and the resort appeared to have minimal backup generators.

The resort is in need of renovations.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the resort is in a perfect area, only 20 minutes from the airport.

it was a great hotel, great food in the buffet ( except for the Mexican night lol - they have a different theme every night ). lots of wind, waves and seaweed at the beach though, made it to hard to snorkel.... wifi is great at the beach, but spotty at one pool, cab rides from the airport are INSANE... they want $ 110.00 american, but i dealt down to $ 70.00... Ubers can Not pick up at the airport but are ok to drop off there - i got one to drop me for aprox $ 18.00 american... no issues with the taxi mafia trying to stop us, FYI book your trip from the airport to the hotel before you arrive or prepair to pay dearly... some people take a bus downtown then Uber from there... nightly shows were ok -the Elvis one was fantastic

Room and hotel were very clean. Staff was amazing. Food just ok in restaurants but buffet was better. They didn’t have much for Mexican food which I would have liked to have the option. We found out a couple days in that you have to request guacamole as it is not a buffet item. There is no pool bar but 1 outside bar and it took awhile for anyone to take our order for drinks. The beach was amazing! They had only 1 working elevator which was inconvenient at times. The one thing I really did not like were the weddings taking place there. There were 2 weddings the weekend we were there and one was on the terrace outside our side of the hotel. It was very loud and we couldn’t go to sleep until they were done with the music. That part was awful when you want quiet and relaxing. I gave it 4 stars because it is a nice hotel but I probably would not stay there again.

Buffet food was very good. Lots of variety. Kept food stocked.
Loved the Japanese restaurant. The Italian restaurant was ok. None of us liked Seasons restaurant.
Hotel is very clean, staff is always seen cleaning. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
There was confusion about our yellow wristband (yellow because we booked through Expedia). Front desk said we could have the upgraded alcohol but had two different bars tell us that we were not allowed this upgrade, but the other two bars were fine when we ordered the upgraded alcohol. Checked with front desk after being denied the upgrade and they said we were supposed to have it. They just need to decide and let everyone know!

Shout out to Carlos at Bar 6, he's the best!

Hotel is nice but there are some deferred maintenance issues and some things are beginning to feel outdated.

They defiantly need more loungers on the beach!

Worst part of stay was they had one small (maybe 7 people at a time) elevator working. We were there for 9 days and 1 elevator never worked. A second elevator went down on day 2 and never got fixed. I don't know how many rooms this hotel has but there are 8 floors of rooms. We were on floor 6 and our friends on floor 7. I feel its unacceptable to have the elevator down for that long.

There was times where they had no food or just one restaurant open. You have a bar open to drink but nothing to eat. We had to leave the property to eat half the time we stayed. Our friends key wouldnt work , so we had to go to front desk 3 times. After a hour someone finally came up to let us in after we missed our tour. Dont get me wrong its a beautiful place. But it was the same thing everyday with the shows and clubs.

4th time visiting and came with very high hopes based on previous wonderful experiences. Staff, food and entertainment continue being outstanding.

Just 1 elevator working out of 3 causing terrible delays. Not visible option to use stairs.
Very disappointing they were charging to reserve the pool beds beside the pool when in the past it was free to use. Now you are required to purchase a 50 dollar bottle of sparkling wine to get one.
Pool was ice cold but that is a minor issue compared to the other ones.

You have everything to keep being a 5 star plus resort, but if these issues are permanent, we will think twice next time and compare other options.

We loved the hotel and entertainment team. Food was a bit disappointing at times, but the drinks and entertainment were great and the beach beautiful. My biggest suggestion for improvement is to take away some of the 'elite member' cabanas and put more sub beds for regular guests, as these were limited and the elite ones were mostly empty and they were trying to upsell all the time. The staff worked really hard and were on the whole amazing. We had a great time and the New Year's Eve event was the best we had experienced!

My family of 6 adults stayed there for 5 days over New Years eve 2025. It was the resort's first year of being adult-only, and we felt they still had some kinks to work out. What was great was location, drinks, room sizes were huge, great New Year's eve party event, and good service. What could have been better: 1 pool (of 3) is in shade all day and another pool requires extra payment for a cabana; food should be better; our room had a leak in the bathroom all 5 days. Even though it is advertised as an \"all inclusive\" resort, they often ask for extra payments (through buying a bottle of booze) for 1 privilege or another.

The room was very nice. Half of the staff couldn't speak English so it was difficult at times. The food was AWFUL. For an all inclusive, the food should be its shining feature, but Sandos' food was really bad. Honestly, it was comparable to hospital food. We will never come back! It was NOT CHEAP. We had a king suite on the ocean, so it was $$ Most of the staff were very nice, except for all of their rules! You can't eat this here. You can't bring this there. This is our 3rd all inclusive and we've never been given all of these rules!

When we arrived we did not have a balcony room and I went to the front desk and was told that websites advertise the rooms differently and with their records we do not have a balcony. I asked if we could switch rooms and was told the rooms were full. I was told later by someone different the rooms were not full. There were just many inconsistent answers or parameters regarding the same issues. Overall ( for the price) good trip but just no accomodating misconceptions to improve small fixes that would have made the trip better for the expectations.

When arriving to the hotel we had to get dropped off at the gate due to the guard having a convo with another employee instead of speaking with driver and letting us in. We then had to walk with our luggage all the way up. No one was there to open the door or welcome us in. No one offered to take our bags while we checked in. We then checked in but was given minimal information. The lady did not give us our room number so we went back to figure that out. Buffet was extremely small and limited on options. VERY LITTLE AMOUNT OF HISPANIC FOOD. More desserts than food options at buffet. We went to have dinner at the buffet when there was almost no one in there and our server never came to give us drinks. We walked to the bar and got our own drinks. She finally comes and noticed we already had drinks but never came back to refill our drinks. Servers take forever to come to the table to ask what you want to drink or take your order. Amazing service in habachi and amazing entertainment team. Older gentleman at the front desk was super nice and made sure everyone was aware of the activities and events. Restaurants had very little amount of food options as well.

This is our 7th day at Sandos Cancun - Adults only, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We frequent the Riviera often and have stayed at quite a few resorts both Family and Adults only, so we have a lot of previous experience to draw from. The 6 of us are in agreement that this resort is a solid 4 star. Here is a breakdown of the pros and cons of Sandos Cancun.

Pros
Staff/service - we have received excellent service from all of the staff. Every bar, restaurant, spa staff and the housekeeping has been consistently good. The staff is friendly and helpful with or without tipping. We do tip but we have observed that the staff provide other non-tipping guests with the same level of service.
Room/bed - we are all in a Deluxe Room with a view of the pools, ocean and lagoon. The beds are California Kings and super comfortable. The A/C works great and we've been able to keep the room at the temperature we prefer. One misstep has been the bath towels, they were great the first 3 days but on the 4th day and since we've been given older, scratchy, slightly fraying towels. This has been a small disappointment but not worth complaining about.
Room Service - this has been consistently good with a wait time of 30 mins on average, the food shows up cold but still good in flavour and decent portion size (typical of all-inclusive resorts).
Location - the location is excellent for the price point. We normally prefer to stay closer to Puerto Morales or Akumal but those locations are a bit mor

It was my first time traveling to Cancun and Sandos resorts was a good choice. The property and rooms were very clean, staff was amazing and friendly (except for two servers). Entertainment group did an amazing job putting on daily shows and parties - I don’t know how they did it but they really worked hard to keep the guests entertained! New Years Eve was very fun and we met some amazing friends!!

Food options and quality can be improved. There were a few dishes that might have been dry or just not the freshest. Breakfast and dinner options were ok.

The housekeeping staff was quick and thorough. The restaurant staff was upbeat and sweet, always made sure we were getting the full benefit of the all-inclusive. The pools are amazing, three different levels with the lowest one having the interactive & party activities.
The ballroom for the night parties was a bit small, however we made sure to be the life of the party. My fav restaurants were frattinis and st trop. Great experience, would potentially go somewhere that had more night life though.

Overall, the experience was just ok. Good side-the staff is sweet and really want people to be happy, bar singers were good, and the beach is great. Bad side-rooms have very few outlets, food tries to be fancy and the final product is not great, entertainment at the pool is strange for lack of a better word, the pools have zero sun in the afternoon due to the building next door, Bar One needs more seating, most of the scheduled evening programs never happened. We did not use the spa, but the prices seem high.

First time in Cancun and I’m happy with this resort overall. The staffs are so friendly and nice. We really enjoyed our stay here. The only down side was that (I’m no foodie) but the dinner and lunch options are average, I found the breakfast was my favourite. Another thing worth to mention was that the flow and pressure of the shower is not ideal, it’s a personal preference but it was not strong. The chairs and seats are limited on the beach, we went out around 8am and they were all taken. Last but not least, if you getting the package do not take Flair Air, pay a little extra to avoid the stress at the Cancun airport. The airport experience is the worst among my travelling years. The airport transportation to the hotel was very convenient, there was a rep from the MTS at this hotel so we booked our trips through them very reliable, highly recommend.

Hotel is small, worn down, in need of top down renovation and was only about 50% capacity. Loud turbines for air conditioning at the hotel next door are constantly roaring - zero silence all week - entertainment was highly sexual and not very good. Pool music was good on day one - the rest of the week it was nothing but thumping and pounding repetitive music that you couldn’t really understand… The pounding got to be so bad that we actually left the pool area with headaches. Food was “ok” but far from good and well below the average level for Mexico (vacation regularly in Mexico) Two stars - definitely not returning.

My experience at Sandos Cancún was absolutely PERFECT from start to finish. Everything exceeded my expectations — the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the overall energy of the resort made my stay truly unforgettable.

The staff here is incredible!! From the front desk to restaurants/bars staff to house cleaning to activity staff....all were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful 😍
Our room and bathroom were spotless and bed/pillows were comfortable. The minibar was restocked daily.

The room was fine. For the most part the employees were nice. The food, except at the Masquerade, was terrible. How do you not have an omelet station?! The drinks, terrible. Very dated. We try to go to Cancun 3 times a year. This was, hands down, the worst. I've never given a review this bad, but it's definitely warranted.

The staff were the highlight of our stay. Most were friendly and charming, and a lot had a good sense of humour. The food was mostly good even though it left myself and others with bad stomachs. The cleanliness was okay but somethings need to be changed like the lampshades that had mold on them, and shower head that I had to tigthen myself to get to work okay. Overall it was good for the price but if you're seeking luxury I would not recommend going here.

My recent stay at this hotel was far below expectations. The cocktails were consistently weak and poorly mixed, and food took an unusually long time to arrive—even simple orders often required long waits with little communication from staff.

The service was the biggest disappointment. Staff at the entrance were especially unhelpful, and I experienced a couple of rude interactions with the doormen, who seemed irritated by basic questions or requests for assistance. It created an unwelcoming first impression that carried through the stay.

The room itself was fine—clean and reasonably comfortable—but minor maintenance issues and the overall lack of attentive service made it hard to enjoy. Even other guests I spoke with mentioned similar concerns.

In the end, the hotel has potential, but the poor drink quality, slow food service, and unprofessional staff left me dissatisfied and unlikely to return.

Did not like the fact that the resturants do not take reservations but when you walk up thay tell it will be about an hour. Reason-- lack of cooks and servers. buffet had plenty. most staff could not speak english which was very frustating. could use better nightly entertainment

The pools were all cold, the doors and frames had mold, there were long waits at the restaurants or we just couldn’t get in at all. Only the royal elite members got the good quality drinks so we had to drink the cheap stuff. The soda selection was limited. Not enough beach chairs, not enough pool chairs. Just poor quality facility all around. Staff was good though

What a beautiful resort. Really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunate that the outdoor stage was being renovated for the days we were there for the outdoor entertainment, but other than that I’m really happy with the overall experience. The food was also pretty good ! Buffet was awesome.

Despite recent renovations that create an illusion of luxury, the hotel still shows rust and calcium buildup on bathroom fixtures. The walls are extremely thin, so loud conversations and slamming doors start waking you up as early as 6 a.m. Not to mention the ongoing construction in the room above us that started at 9am and didn’t end until 6pm, so hope you don’t like taking mid day naps after being in the sun all day.

Food was average, and the bartenders didn’t make quality drinks.

Pool seating was almost impossible to find since guests can use unlimited towels to claim multiple chairs, daybeds, and beach spots at once.

Restaurants don’t take reservations unless you’re a Royal Elite member, which often leads to waits of up to an hour.

On the positive side, the pools were great, the beachfront was nicer than most properties, and the staff was consistently friendly. Overall, though, the resort falls short of the luxury experience it aims to provide.

The property is very small. If you’re looking for not much walking this property is for you. The elevators are tight. The room had a musty smell and mold on the lampshades and bed skirts. The furniture and closet hinges also had rust. Instantly activated my asthma. I would never stay here again. The balcony cement was broken. It was one of my least favorite stays.

I would not recommend staying at Sandos Cancun. The bedroom walls are dingy, and the furniture is cheap and rickety. The food was consistently bland, poorly cooked, or had confusing flavors. We even kept a salt shaker in our room after multiple requests for it because salt was rare in all the hotel restaurants. Waitstaff often forgot to bring our orders, and the mixed drinks were so bad we ended up drinking canned beer the rest of our stay.

The worst part was that my fiancé got food poisoning from the hotel's restaurant, Seasons, and was vomiting for an entire night and day. I informed reception and asked for help, but they did nothing. I requested simple food items from room service, but they refused because they weren't on the late-night menu. After complaining at the front desk, they sent up light foods. I received a call from the concierge, Abril, the next day who apologized and promised something special for us at dinner. She never showed up and nothing special was prepared. I confronted her afterwards, and she made an excuse for her no show. She later claimed we'd get a partial refund and gave me her manager's contact for Expedia to get in touch with. Seven days later, the manager, Stefano Rayo, still hasn’t responded to Expedia’s attempts to process our refund.

I will update this review if I hear back, but after everything, I have low expectations.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Another Great Stay at Sandos Cancún

This was me and my wife’s second time staying at Sandos Cancún, and once again it didn’t disappoint. The beach access is unbeatable, and the Zango buffet was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The staff is always incredibly friendly, the rooms are clean, and we really appreciated having room service available. I also liked that there was a designated smoking area and a lifeguard on duty, which made the beach feel even more safe and enjoyable.

If I had to mention a few things they could improve, the bathrooms are a bit outdated, and it would be nice to have smart TVs in the rooms. A game room with things like a pool table, ping pong, chess, and other activities would be a great addition. It would also really help if they added a ramp down to the beach so people with disabilities can easily access the water.

But overall, this resort continues to be a favorite of ours, and we’ll definitely be back. Sandos Cancún still earns a full 5 out of 5 from us!
