Pools were very dirty, and slippery. Specialty restaurants were hard to get in you had to wait more than an hour, so we ended up going to the buffet every day. The only one that you could make reservations was the stake house,which was horrible. Front desk was very rude we had an incident happened and they showed no interest in helping me out. Same when we checked in they did not have any information about the hotel as far as when restaurants opened or closed or the location of them. The only thing we liked was the entertainment at the main pool, Johnny was awesome! As well as the all the staff at the buffet, these people work so hard and we appreciated every single one of them. Please tip the waiter and bartenders!!
We will not come back to this or any other Riu after this experience.

The resort is very clean and fairly new, but not heavily decorated. We’ve stayed at other Riu resorts before, and in our opinion, they were better than this one. The food was good.

The only issue was with the restaurants in the evening. Even at the ones that don’t require reservations, if you arrive an hour or an hour and a half before closing, they often tell you there are no available tables, even though many tables are empty. It seems they don’t want to overload the kitchen near the end of their shift. We had to argue several times just to be seated and have dinner.

Other than that, it’s a pretty good resort overall.

As much as I love Cancun, the all-inclusive resorts are moving in a direction that older customers like myself (57) just don't fit into. (1) the party atmosphere is aimed at a much younger crowd, (2) top shelf alcohol bottles have the alcohol replaced by cheaper alcohols (it's obvious to someone that knows their drinks), (3) their a la carte Japanese restaurant is a buffet, etc... The location, the rooms, and the beach was great; but I wouldn't stay there again.

Brand new property, super clean and spacious. ocean view room was amazing. Daily live entertainment and activities from the various pools around the resort was endless. We enjoyed the ambiance and the implacable service of the all you can eat Buffet at the resort did exceed my expectations! Every night the live show at the outdoor theater and live entertainment/Salsa band afterwards was as advertised. Riu Ventura Cancún is definitely worth every penny.

The rooms were fine (although water pressure was low, which was a bit of a challenge in getting sand off! The main problem we had with the Riu Ventura was the food--mediocre at best, only one restaurant that wasn't at least in part a buffet, numerous buffet items not labeled as to allergens, somewhat limited hours of service. When we were told there is no room service, the staff member helping us told us there was always food available in the Sports Bar--that food was basically hamburgers and such in a cooler that then had to be microwaved.

Not sure this is Riu Ventura's fault (perhaps more Expedia) but Destination Services was terrible to work with for transportation.

Where should I start we got to the hotel and Miguel the bell Man helped myself and my whole family to the front desk made sure we had everything ready.
Went to the pool area and met with Jonathan and Jose great people they made us feel welcome and made us our first drinks with a lot of attention. We went to celebrate my dad’s 60th and my wife’s Graduation. It was a great time. The sport bar was a great place to get drinks and talk. Everything was clean the staff was friendly and welcoming

Expectation and reality did not match. For the price we paid, we expected a true 5-star experience, but this resort fell short in many ways. The hotel is new and clean, but that alone isn’t enough.

The biggest disappointment was the food. The buffet and à la carte restaurants lacked variety, and many dishes were bland, overcooked, or rubbery. The steakhouse, despite being the hardest restaurant to book, was one of the worst meals of our trip. Although the food improved somewhat later in the week, it still wasn’t what we expected.

If you’ve stayed at other RIU resorts, don’t expect the same alcohol quality. Room dispensers and many pool drinks used local brands unless premium liquor was specifically requested.

Families should know this resort feels more suited to older guests. The kids’ club was tiny, activities were limited, advertised kids’ parties didn’t always happen, and the children’s pool is really only suitable for toddlers.

The highlight of our stay was Josias from the buffet. His service was exceptional. On our last evening, he surprised us with a beautifully decorated table and told us, “I was waiting for you. It’s your last evening.” Without him, this trip would have been remembered only as a disappointment.

We’ve stayed at other Riu properties before and had much better experiences. This resort may still be finding its footing, but right now it doesn’t live up to the standards and consistency we expected from the Riu brand.

We absolutely loved the cleanliness of the hotel, room, and amenities. Everything was well maintained and our room was always cleaned. The staff was great, friendly and very welcoming. The entertainment was also great. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the food. The food was okay, the buffet never really had anything different like I’ve seen in other hotels in the area. One night we went to one restaurant 30 minutes prior to closing and our waiter seemed frustrated that we were ordering and even said I have to check if you can order. We ended up ordering but felt we were being rushed.

We always stay at the Riu hotels in Cancun. We were excited to try out the new Riu Ventura. And as always we were very impressed as always. The staff is amazing, the room is very clean and ample space for the 3 of us. Food was delicious. The only thing we would like to see an improvement is on a shaded smoking section and more chairs to sit in while smoking. Other than that we give Riu a 10 . We’ll be visiting again soon I’m sure!

New resort over all. The staff is very nice and polite. The food is decent at the buffet. The only bad experience we had is at the steak house where all our 4 meals were horrible: ordered 3 ribeyes medium rare and one salmon. The ribeye quality of all 3 as far as the meat is concerned is mediocre( mostly fat strips). The cooking of it was not medium rare but rare close to raw. The potatoes wedges were cold and seem to have come out of the fridge and popped in the microwave!!! Mind you this restaurant requires a reservation and we had to wait 35 minutes for some horrible steaks. This was the only low point of the trip otherwise.

Lo q no me gusto es q el representante de Expedia Eric garcia q se encarga del transporte del hotel al aereopuerto quiso engañarnos y no nos ayudó porq adelante mi vuelo por 3 horas y cuando le pedí una transportación mas temprana me dijo q no tenia disponibilidad de un carro a esa hora q me podía conseguir un taxi x 70 dolares cuando el hotel al aereopuerto es mejor de 15 minutos le dije q no y llame un uber y solo pague 17 dolares en el uber y también me ofreció 1 tour x 200 dolares por persona en can cun no hay tour q cueste tan caro Expedia debería contratar gente mas seria y no unos charlatanes qué solo quieren estafar y quedarse con el dinero de sus clientes

I really enjoyed my stay I took off a star because it says that airport transfers were included but they weren’t and I had do pay for mine. However someone else booked a separate room didn’t so the information received from the hotel customer service , hotel staff and Expedia wasn’t correct. I had “850 resort credits” that was completely miss represented because it’s not a credit you can use on what you want instead it’s discounts multiple services that total up to $850. Overall the staff was nice and helpful the food options were good minus the steak house skip that one. It would be nice if the pools stayed open longer they close at 6pm which seems early. I would settle for the adults only pool being open longer.

I would like to mention one member of staff at front desk, Jaime, so helpful for us older people who cannot navigate on-line services so well! he also made sure we had a great room, and sent up some goodies for our special week, ty Jaime :)
The beach was beautiful, waves very choppy for a few days and we did witness 2 life guards running into the ocean to help someone out, that made me feel safe, as they did a great job considering the waves were very high.There is also a roof top pool if u want quiet.
We ate at Italian Restuarant twice, the Steak house required some kind of reservation, we loved the salmon dish. Buffet is plentiful, hot and lots of seating.I highly recommend this resort and cannot wait to go back

Staffs were nice, and hotel was clean enough. We had given many options for food.

Unfortunately, we had a difficult night due to SECURITY BREACH. One of the guy attacked me, I injured by the guy, called to desk for the security. No one showed up. We went down to the desk to see what’s happening and saw the guy was arrested by the police. We canceled the trip and bought a last minute flight tickets. We asked for the full refund, staff didn’t help us.

The Hotel was amazing! Super clean. Staff was amazing! The only thing in my opinion was the food. There was not enough spicy foods, and it needed more Authentic Mexican foods. But there were a lot of options for everybody. Overall I had a phenomenal time!

The ocean view swim up was really nice, however the adults only rooftop pool and bar was closed down and I was upset because that was one of the reasons I chose this resort to stay at. Also, all restaurants in this close around 7pm-10 so after those hours you're going be hungry since you can’t order room service.

I went for my 26th. Birthday and I have no complaints. They brought me a cake with 2 bottles of tequila on my birthday. I felt safe with the 24/7 security. I will be coming back. The staff is all very nice and sweet

Did miss having room service. I was nervous when I read alot of the negative reviews but I didn't experience any of those.

We had a wonderful stay at Riu Ventura. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed.

The food was very good with plenty of options, and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, and the property had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.

Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Riu Ventura to anyone looking for a nice, enjoyable stay. We would be happy to come back again.

It’s honestly a good resort especially for the value but if there was SOMETHING I had to comment on it would be that there is no 24/7 cafe open like I’ve seen with other resorts. No area to just gets sweets and treats like ice cream other than when the dining areas are open. They should also issue some riu themed reusable straws or something. I don’t like not having a straw… so if you want a straw bring a reusable one.
