We really enjoyed our anniversary trip!
I would like to start by recognizing the staff at Oleo. They were the reason this trip was so phenomenal. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our stay enjoyable.
Overall, the hotel itself was very good. The only area that caused some frustration was the inconsistency in the dining schedules. Room service was advertised as available 24/7, but that was not actually the case during our stay. Additionally, while there are four restaurants on the property, they are not all open every day, which made it more difficult to plan meals around our excursions.
For example, we booked a day trip to Chichén Itzá through the hotel, with pickup scheduled for 7:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet did not open until 7:00 a.m., and room service was also unavailable before that time, despite being advertised differently. As a result, we were unable to have breakfast before leaving for our excursion. The staff, once again, came for the rescue and packed us a sandwich.
That said, these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise fantastic experience. The exceptional staff truly made our stay memorable, and we are very grateful for their hospitality.
Thank you for helping make our anniversary trip so special. We would absolutely return in the future.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Oleo Cancun. The property looks nothing like the polished, upscale resort shown in the photos. In reality, it feels outdated, poorly maintained, and far from the luxury experience being advertised.
The room was in rough condition, and the bathroom was especially problematic. The shower did not drain properly, causing water to collect and sit for an extended period. Basic maintenance issues like this should not exist at a resort charging these rates. Cleanliness and upkeep throughout the property were also concerning. The elevators had an unpleasant odor, and even the air-conditioning vents in the lobby were visibly dusty. These details may seem minor, but they contribute to an overall impression that the property is not being maintained to the standard expected of a beachfront resort. Service was also inconsistent. One evening I called to request towels and toilet paper, and despite waiting, the items never arrived. Having to chase down basic necessities during a vacation is unacceptable. The food was mediocre at best and certainly not a highlight of the stay. While the staff members themselves were friendly, polite, and seemed to do their best, they cannot make up for the overall condition of the property. The biggest issue is that the resort is misleadingly marketed. The photos online create expectations that the actual property simply does not meet. I do not recommend this property.

This property was perfect for the type of trip we wanted. Very chill. We ate, drank, read by the pool while listening to the ocean, and went to bed early. Three nights was the perfect amount of time if you aren’t planning to leave the property.

La recepción en el Check-In fue muy buena con excelente bebida de bienvenida - aunque deberían de mejorar el aire acondicionado en la recepcion solamente - buena atención y amabilidad. El cuarto en el 8.º piso es espectacular, con amplio balcón y vista al mar Caribe al este y vista hacia la laguna al oeste, con un espectacular champán de bienvenida. El hotel es algo viejo, pero bien funcional. Lo mejor para mí es La Playa espectacular, excelente restaurante mediterráneo, la ubicación es muy, muy buena con acceso rápido a demás atracciones. En mi caso, la habitación está más orientada al este y no se puede ver el ocaso en la tarde. Pero para quienes quieren ver el ocaso, solo tienen que cruzar la calle y caminar al restaurante de enfrente, y tomar alguna bebida y contemplar un atardecer espectacular. La alberca del hotel es chica y algo limitada, pero el plus de este hotel es la espectacular playa. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.

I thought this hotel was good if you prefer a relaxed, casual, and restful place with great amenities and beach access. The staff was helpful and kind. We got the all-inclusive package, and everything was great, food, spa. It is not your huge resort with tons of people and noise. Just right in my opinion, very elegant and beautiful views.

My only thing was that the room service menu is not the same as the restaurant menu and has limited offerings, for restaurant items you have to physically go to the restaurant. Also they did not offer a shuttle to the airport which most other hotels/resorts offer.

I plan on returning soon!

I really love the exceptional warmth and care of the staff at this hotel. The room was a little more rustic than I expected, but the space and views were exceptional. Because it was just my sister and I on this trip, I think it would’ve been great to have more activities like karaoke, dancing, etc. Aside from that, it was really a beautiful experience and I would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was clean but our tv did not work the 4 days we were there. I talked to someone at the front desk. They told me I needed to talk to a manager when the manager came in the next day because it was Sunday went to go report. The manager was not there so we had no TV for four days while we were there. The swim up bar was amazing. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was a zero out of 10 none of the food was good did not have a lot of food choices. It was three restaurants and one coffee shop/sandwich bar, and all of the food was not good. I love the hotel but the food will stop me from returning there again. Also, the alcohol I feel like was water down out of the four days we were there. We drink a lot and never even got a buzz.

There were always restrictions with the amenities, like restaurants being closed randomly and some food only being available every other day. We were also advertised by Expedia that this was an ADULT ONLY resort but there were tons of kids there. and they wouldn’t clean my room when I requested due to a clean every 2 day rule but there was a storm and our room had water all over the floors and we had to deal with that for an extra day which sucked, made the rest of our clothes dirty or uncomfortable.

Absolutely loved this place, would definitely be back over and over again. Very pinteresty, clean and amazingly kind staff. The size of the resort is cozy and u get comfortable with the guests easily. Soo close to the airport as well!! The food was also great, many options and different restaurants with different cuisines. Did not feel any discomfort at all, especially as a hijabi. Perfect balance between beach and pool. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the facilities were kept clean. For a smaller resort, there were plenty of food options, which were all delicious. The only negative thing was the grab and go option is closed on Sundays, which was not convenient as my departure was Sunday morning and it would have been helpful to have that option. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Accommodating hotel for a one night stay all inclusive and not expensive compared to other hotels. The hotel is outdated but the steps distance to the beach compensated the building outdated condition. The staff was friendly and meals were good.
I’ll stay there again when I need a night or two between transfer to another state.

Loved them, great salsa tunes and to dance. You bring the party. Drinks are yummy bartenders have their own delicious mixes. Folks who served well are Gerry and Fernando. Will definitely be back

Our stay at Oleo Cancun Playa was wonderful. It’s a small hotel, but it has everything you need to truly relax and disconnect. The food was delicious, and as a pregnant guest, I really appreciated that they offered non-alcoholic beer and sparkling wine — such a thoughtful touch that made me feel included and cared for.

The service was exceptional from beginning to end. Francisco, in the beach and pool service area, was absolutely amazing — always attentive and kind, making sure we were comfortable at all times. Erendida was always warm, friendly, and checking in to make sure everything was going well during our stay. And Josefina, at the spa, was simply wonderful: always smiling and giving incredible massages perfectly adapted to my prenatal stage.

I would definitely stay here again. I truly felt cared for, attended to, and comfortable, especially during such a special moment in my pregnancy.

I loved the 24/7 room service amenity and the fridge included amenity. Staff is excellent food was really good. The rooms need maintenance though especially the bathrooms the mirrors are roasted and faucet as well. But other than that I loved this hotel and the customers service was excellent with an exception of a bar tender that seem to be the there doing his job so miserable didn’t get his name though, but that’s it. The rest of the staff really nice and helpful.

We really loved our stay at Oleo Cancun Playa All Inclusive Resort. For the price, everything was honestly really good and we had zero problems during the whole trip. The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, everyone made us feel comfortable and relaxed.
One of the best things was how peaceful the resort felt. There were not many people and almost no kids, so it was very quiet and calm. It truly felt like a real vacation where you can completely rest and recharge.
The food overall may not be the most amazing ever, but there’s always plenty of options and you definitely won’t stay hungry. Also loved that you don’t need reservations for the restaurants, it made everything so much easier. For this price range, it was honestly a really great experience and we would definitely come back!

Very clean resort with beautiful ocean views! The food inside of the buffet and restaurants were good but service at Alma was slow. They have some things that are not displayed or on a menu such as bacon at breakfast and chicken wings by the pool but the staff was happy to get it when requested! Although the resort is small you still need to get to the pool early to reserve chairs! The only negative thing is that the alcohol selection is very limited and they don’t have any premium options even for Inspira guest (Jose Cuervo, absolute, Smirnoff, Kentucky gentleman) but that was an easy fix with a store run and ordering virgin drinks from the bar!! The resort is also close to the airport and I would recommend using uber for transportation as it is significantly cheaper and still felt safe! It was a very quiet resort, perfect for a 3 night reset!

I typically don’t write reviews but this one needs it. Don’t waste your time or money. Not a fan at all of this place. Very outdated hotel. This is a HOTEL (with 3 buildings). This is NOT a RESORT. Everything needed updating. Cracked tiles, dirty room windows, all the furniture looked hand me down. Either chips on the furniture or lop-sided furniture. It is beachfront but you have to go down these uneven wood steps to get to the beach. I had to hold on every time because i felt like i was going to fall. Very disappointed on the food as well. This place shouldn't be a representation of mexico at all. We stayed at other resorts and the food was amazing. This place out of 5 stars is a 2.3. Nothing Mexican about it. The alcohol was not top or middle shelf. It was all bottom shelf liquor. You can tell this place makes sure they pinch every way they can. There is not entertainment at night at all!! Thank god we didn't bring our son. Its not a kid friendly resort. No activities and really there isnt anything to do but eat food that I wouldn't feed anyone I knew and to drink bottom shelf liquor. Upon checking out at 12pm, we handed in our bracelets and were told if we wanted to enjoy the hotel till the bus came we would have to pay an additional $11 per person. That made us laugh 😃.. and literally told them your food and drinks is not worth the $11 each. Hopefully we would enjoy one last meal at the airport and hopefully it'll be more Mexican or just better tasting than this place.

This All Inclusive Resort is serious about \"all inclusive.\" I was pleased that the price includes tips, although we did leave tips for certain staff who gave exceptional service. Also, they do not require you to sign for anything. Just leave your papers and money in the safe and enjoy the resort. Also, there was also a noticeable lack of private vendors working the Beach. My only negative is that the hot water rarely reached my fifth floor room, but that was not a big deal since a cool or warm shower was perfect after time in the Sun. Highly recommend this Resort for Couples and families with older children.

I was staying for 4 days, of which only one day cleaned my room, and that’s why I had to call someone to clean. They had the dirty dishes from two days in my room, used the towels from two days, that was disastrous, at the reception they don’t explain to you that there are different kinds of bracelets and being on the beach with my daughter made me move to another part of the beach because I didn’t have the red bracelet, no chairs to sit on and we were had to stay with all the people who smoke and me with a minor, the only good experience was the Almar restaurant, good attention and good food, and in the other restaurants, the food is not good, often cold and without flavor.

The main negative is the people constantly trying to sell you stuff on the beach and even on the resorts by the resort’s staff to the point where we were avoiding specific route not to be bothered by these sellers constantly. Resorts could’ve add some animations to entertain a little more especially around 8-9pm when the sun’s down. Pool and pool’s bar close at 7pm which is kinda early imo. Overall the experience was okay but we won’t come back for a second time for sure. Old people might prefer this resort.

The first thing you go into the front desk, check-in, beautiful scenery, beautiful location. The hotel is on the old side. The elevator is super old. The pool area is so dumb. In order to get to the pool bar you have to go all the way around on pool ladder that shouldn’t even exist since the early 2000s. Very dangerous for elder people the stairs going down to the beach is so high and steep again very dangerous for kids and elder people. Food was OK. Should be a little cheaper for the what you’re getting. Also know high-end alcohol.

Biggest plus - staff was super friendly! Rooms were nice but the shower was very outdated, lots of rust in the shower. They use zero premium liquor so don't be surprised if you're hungover. The food was absolutely disgusting. NOTHING was good! We went out to eat the majority of meals due to the quality in food. The beach view is beautiful! This resort allows animals and doesn't have designated areas for animals to use the restroom and no potty bags so there was dog poop randomly everywhere. We will be returning to Mexico 100%....but will never be staying at this resort ever again. Unfortunately, the lack of good food is what over all killed our experience.

Overall rating is a 3 an ALL HONEST REVIEW. Some key points for future goers are

ROOMS
•“Ocean front view” room we stayed is advertised as a king size bed when really a it’s two twins put together
•No shower door. So the whole floor was wet after showers and made the floor EXTREMELY SLIPPERY and DANGEROUS
•the lighting for the shower as well was in the corner side of the wall lined up which made it look ghetto and instead of a normal shower light
•paint job isn’t complete in bathroom
•bedroom has a bunch of scratches on the frame which made it looks even more distasteful
•stickers all over the windows … not necessary it actually ruins the view of the ocean which was the point of that room
•walls are not sounds proof

ROOM SERVICE

•Room service was horrible. Only time they did great was whenever we called for food…
Other then that they took forever to provide us
New towels, a clean room when we were gone,
Didn’t pick up dirty plates that were left for DAYS,
•they don’t make your bed when you’re gone as well

POOLS & Activities
•nice pool side bar had non alcoholic options
•not overly crowded
•good music volume
•ONLY DOWNSIDE IS BEACH IS CLOSED AT 6pm and POOLS ARE CLOSED AT 8pm.
•gym is very stuffy and not spacious enough which can also be dangerous
• again with service staff will only bring you drinks or food to you if you ask not go up to you and ask you if you need anything
Only restaurant I’d recommend is HAKKA and the Italian restaurant for salmon

The 4th floor smelled like dirty mop water for the entire trip. The sink wouldn’t drain properly. The food was possibly the worst I’ve had. Would definitely spend the extra 1k to go to a very nice all inclusive.

If you’re looking for a quieter, more laid-back resort without constant daytime activities, this place is perfect. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing, and the smaller size of the resort makes it feel much less crowded and more peaceful compared to larger resorts.

There are three restaurant options including the buffet. The Italian and Japanese restaurants were both fantastic, and the buffet was consistently reliable with good variety throughout the stay.

The staff really made the experience even better. Room service was excellent, and the bartenders were amazing especially Antonio, Felipe, Fernando, and Miguel. They were friendly, always making jokes and having drinks and shots ready for us before we even finished our drinks, everyday we’d walk in and they’d know us by name. Incredible service.
