I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The staff was truly outstanding—everyone I interacted with was polite, professional, and very helpful. Their excellent service made a strong positive impression, and it’s the main reason I would consider recommending this place.
That said, the hotel itself could really benefit from some renovations. The water pressure was inconsistent, and there was an unpleasant sewer smell at times, which detracted from the overall comfort of the stay.
Overall, while the staff made the experience better, improvements to the facilities would make a big difference.

My staying at Cyan was very nice and cozy. I really loved their hospitality from the security to the front desk receptionist. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very polite, nice and friendly people. They made my girl and I felt very welcome and appreciated. We fully recommend everyone to go to Cancun and stay at Cyan Cancun Resort *****

Sinceramente fue una experiencia terrible hospedarme en ese hotel, no servía el aire acondicionado, me cambiaron de habitación a las 2 am por una mucho peor de la que había pagado argumentando que me harían un reembolso que no ha sucedido.

Todas las instalaciones están en pésimas condiciones, lo único salvable es el equipo operativo, sin contar a los gerentes, ya que nunca dan la cara, no solucionan, ni siquiera están en el hotel.

De hecho me tocó ver al momento de hacer check out como una pareja cancelaba su estancia por lo mismo.

A beautiful place! I could watch the sunrise over the ocean from my balcony. The room was clean and bright. Ceiling sun the 6th floor where I was staying were more than 15 feet high. The infinity pool was beautiful and overlooked the ocean in thermos magical way.
Some of the lawn furniture was a bit run down, but comfortable, none-the-less.

I made the decision to go on a whim, and I am so glad that I did. The people I met, the staff, the taxi drivers and the time I had in mexico inspired me to move there. Be there monday the 16th with no plans of coming back to the states. Cyan Cancun Resort and Spa helped with that decision.

Older building in much need of repair. Our sliding glass doors were rusted and difficult to open. Windows are clouded. Pool was large and clean. Restaurant was nice. Nice to have pool bar available. I booked a massage in the spa. I don’t think the girl was an actual massage therapist.

The room was reserved with oceanview, and the view didn't disappoint. Sunrise and full moonrise were spectacular!!! The pool is nice and super clean. If your breakfast is included, it is two eggs made to your specs, some fruits, coffee, OJ. Or, you can order your breakfast and pay for it, and if you still have included breakfast, have that one packed for you to go. However, the property shows its age - either it is really getting old, or maybe the proximity to ocean ages it faster than the staff can keep up - and staff is constantly buzzing around, trying to do something. Overall, the place and the price are worth it if you want the beach time. For crazy spring break style parties, you need to get something further north - you can take kids to Cyan, and it will be safe and sound.

Full honesty, staff was friendly but that was the only good thing about this property. The hotel and Room itself was a poor decision. It was not cleaned at all, the moment we arrived within a hour of arrival, we had to contact maintenance “3 times” because the toilet was not working. There was food crumbs all over the floor, even a used floss stick still in the restroom, the tv wasn’t working. The shower is a mess, when full pressure on, it spills out and all over the floor and drips into the hallway.& I’m not exaggerating.
There was some dead flies on the window area. Within the first hour of arriving we were looking for a new hotel but they wouldn’t refund us so we were stuck staying here. Luckily it was only two nights but never again. I don’t recommend, much nicer hotels nearby and for the same price.

The hotel seems to have been built in the late 90s or early 2000s and hasn’t undergone a major renovation since. The concept is interesting, but the property clearly needs a serious update and stronger management to reach its potential. The staff were friendly, though not always very professional, and communication in English was sometimes limited.

The beach is beautiful with crystal-clear water, but strong waves were common during our stay. Red flags were up almost every day, meaning swimming was not allowed. There are also rocks in some areas, although walking a bit further leads to sections marked with yellow flags that feel safer.

On the positive side, the pool is definitely the hotel’s main highlight. It’s visually impressive and creates a great atmosphere, even though the water is quite cold. The other strong point is the food — breakfasts were good, and overall the kitchen did a nice job.

Where do I start? When I got to the room the outside of the door was dirty - not a good sign. When I walked in the white couch had stains on it, the drawer handles were coming off and I was concerned I would be charged so I made sure to document these issues.

The refrigerator was personal size and had an odor to it. It also included a wet bar with overpriced drinks. The shower was the doozy. The bathroom just kinda smelled like a combo of sewer & mold. Probably because the water didn’t drain from the shower so by the time you finished you had a couple inches of standing water that would remain there until the maid came to mop it up.

The staff were more like guards. They were constantly patrolling around looking to see if someone adjusted the lounge chair or moved the on the beach lounger by an inch or two. The pool was gorgeous but the poolside bar closed an hour early. Actually the entrance to the beach routinely closed 45-60 minutes earlier than mandated.

When I have stayed in Cancun in the past I have been provided with one bottle of water daily. Not this place - your first bottle of water is free but from then on expect to pay.

What was good about the room? The bed was comfortable, the view was STUNNING from the balcony (the lock required slamming the door multiple times and manipulating it though) and the sounds of the waves were awesome

Bottom line - Do NOT waste your money. The problems and unsanitary conditions far outweighed the view.

Pros: the king sized bed was clean and comfortable. We loved our view of the beach and loved being on the beach. The cleaning staff did a great job. The pool was nice and clean . Staff friendly but not super helpful. Con’s: We received very little information about the hotel when we arrived. The continental breakfast was a joke. It was a pot of coffee and some pastries on the corner of the reception desk. I’m glad we didn’t pay extra for it. We had to take an uber everywhere because very little is in walking distance to the hotel. It’s a bit run down and in need of refreshing. The service in the restaurant was extremely slow. We only ate there once. The air ran constantly and loudly. I would not stay there again.

This hotel is really beat. AC was inadequate, there were no outlets save for two across the room on the far wall behind the furniture. There were USB plugs next to the bed, but they didn’t work. The bathroom door was in such bad shape that it got stuck, we almost couldn’t open it. The wind was really loud at night, making a wailing noise through the hotel. When we checked out, they tried to charge us for a dirty towel, but we talked them out of it. Food was really mediocre.

Room could use some updating. The dresser and other furniture seemed to show its age. The toilet lacked pressure to complete a full flush. The shower head pressure was. It consistent. You can hear people moving chairs above your room. The concrete construction adds to that noise.

The location and views from the room were both amazing. However, the hotel furniture and amenities are dated and need some refurbishment. The pool and beach chairs were torn and sun damaged, and the couch in the room had dark marks all over it. The room also smelled terrible, almost like sewage. Lastly, the pool was super cold. No one was swimming, because it was too chilly to enjoy it. If these types of things were better taken care of, it could be a great hotel. But it seems like management isn’t really addressing it, which is a shame. Otherwise, it was a fair stay.

We got there Sunday in the morning and had a very impolite rude staff member that refused to give us her name ,and did nothing for us . we are 64 years old and sometimes takes a while to find papers and reservation after a 6 hours flight when we were tired ,she keep hushing us with no consideration for our age ,never smile welcome us or did anything to represent the hotel us a welcoming place that value their guests . The manager come only on Monday and she did help us gave us a upgrade and try to fix the terrible impression left by this not trained or polite staff member . all the other team members were very nice I don't know her name but the manager knows. the manager was super nice to us . she need to learn and go for training or the hotel will loose a lot guests

Unacceptable Sanitation Conditions in Room

The condition of the room is far below acceptable cleaning and hygiene standards.

The toilet is clogged, and the bathroom has a strong, unpleasant odor. There is visible body hair and stains on the bed sheets. The furniture throughout the room is dirty, stained, and unpleasant to touch. The shower is also dirty and appears poorly maintained.

These conditions are unsanitary and not consistent with basic hospitality standards

Beds are comfortable but pillows are very hard. Property in general is showing wear. Patio door for our room was to a shared deck with the room beside us, but it didn’t have a working lock. Not sure why decks with unknown parties would be shared as that is not desirable.

I would NEVER recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. The condition of this property was 100% falsely advertised in the listing on Expedia. This place was so run down, outdated, the staff didn’t offer a hello, good morning or an FU. They just let us walk past without saying a word. Our room was severely outdated, the only outlet in the entire room was in the bathroom! The sliding door to the balcony wouldn’t close all the way, so we had to listen to the strong winds blow through the crack all night, the bed was uncomfortable. My friend booked a similar room 5 rooms down and his shower didn’t work. Him and his wife had to use a cup to fill hot water in to bathe with. Their air conditioner wouldn’t blow cold air. It was just an over all terrible experience. So much so, that I could go my whole life without returning to Cancun and be perfectly fine with that

The shower head had had holes in the top of the pipe so it squirted water all over the ceiling. Other than those two things. It was a great hotel with good food.

The staff at the Cyan Cancun Resort is warm and friendly. I had a wonderful time there. My room overlooked the ocean and the view was spectacular. I slept one night with the balcony door open and the curtain drawn. The sea lulled me to sleep that night. My only issue is there seems to have be a drain issue inside my bathroom and sometimes it reeked. The toilet was also a little clogged. Regardless, I would stay here again especially for the view and the warm atmosphere but maybe not in the same room.

The amenities are very decrepit—beach loungers and chairs falling apart, building facade in bad shape. The room had one accessible outlet. At one point the water stopped working in our room and the key scanner also broke and we couldn’t get it for a long time. Would not recommend staying here.

This is a clean and beautiful resort on a wonderful part of the Cancun beach. This is not an all-inclusive, but the restaurant here was consistently excellent. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance, but be prepared to get a taxi or ride the bus if you want more options.
If you are just looking to relax, this is a great place for that. If you are looking for excitement, I would stay closer to downtown.

Black mold in the room in several spots.behijd the mirror,coming out, in the shower, on the silicone around the sink and shower,Room was a ocean veiw.
Workers try hard, but facilty in rough shape.our friends had a much nicer room but still shows its wear.
Beach area was nice, as its on the strip but the beach loungers where well used. Beach towels rough, pay a bit more for a cleaner spot.
I would not stay here again.

We had a really pleasant stay at Hotel Cyan Resort & Spa in Cancun. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and we didn’t encounter any problems at all during our stay, which made the experience very relaxing overall.

Our room faced the lagoon and had a beautiful view - definitely a highlight. The air conditioning worked great, which is a must in Cancun, and the plumbing was solid with good water pressure and consistent water temperature.

** A couple of things worth noting for future guests: complimentary bottled water is only provided on the first night. After that, you can purchase water from the mini fridge (about $7.40 CAD for two bottles) or buy it elsewhere. Also, alcohol isn’t allowed on hotel grounds unless it’s purchased from the hotel bars.

The on-site restaurant was reasonable in terms of food and pricing, but they do close from 12:00–1:00 PM, which is a bit inconvenient during lunchtime.
The hotel also offers airport shuttle services for around $50 USD, though we didn’t use this option ourselves.

Overall, for the price we paid, this hotel was great value. It’s a comfortable, clean place with excellent staff and a beautiful views.
As long as you’re aware of a few policies in advance, it’s an enjoyable place to stay in Cancun.

Definitely not the best place to stay in Cancun. I booked a king size bed room and I got 2 twin beds separate… they were able to move me in the right room at the half of my vacation. They seems not very happy to accommodate any request from the guests. Amenities are very poor! Gym (they called fitness center) it’s basically a small room with just a few machine - literally 4! Looks like was a normal room adapted as a gym.
The restaurant was pretty but the service was very very slow. I ordered a steak rare and I got it on my table after 50 minutes well done. One of the day I have to cancel my breakfast because after 40 minutes waiting for an avocado toast I had to leave for an external excursion. The staff is overall very friendly and nice. My favorite was the bartender at the pool bar.
For the same price I am sure you can gat a better option.

Loud traffic all night from highway, bad smell in bathroom, toilet flusher would get stuck and the water would keep running, sink would take a long time to drain, stains on couch in room, definitely needs to be updated, photos on website and advertisements is false compared to the reality of how run down and worn out the hotel is

its worthy for the price if your in a budget and want to go out to explore this is a great option oxxo is like 7eleven is right in front so you can go there get cheap snaks and start your adventure rooms are good for the price staff is friendly and is front ocean so its pretty nica view

This is the first time i have ever posted a bad review and I use Hotels.com a lot. The room and building are not in great condition. The pictures used on the site are old. We could not see through the Window in our ocean view room because it was so dirty. I washed what I could reach myself and it stayed that way all week. Furniture is pretty beat up. Night stands are mounted to and falling off the wall. USB plugs didn't work and only one outlet it the main room. cracks in walls, bathroom door that doesn't shut. Pool loungers that are ripped apart. Also, this is NOT a resort. Spa was not open and no one wants to let you charge anything to your room. I got my room for 1/2 price and I feel that even that was too much to pay.

The bathroom had a horrible odor from the drain. We covered it with a plastic bag and garbage can on top. The front desk staff were rude and not respectful. I booked a room with a balcony and got one only with an ocean view. The hotel is built like a wind tunnel- anywhere you go the wind is SO strong. Dont wear a flowy dress or bother doing your hair. This place was considerably cheaper than other options and after staying here I know why. The main light in the room didnt work, and the room does not have a large mirror like in the photos. Half of the days there wasnt hot water to take a hot shower at night.
