The room linen and sofa lack cleanliness outdated. Only one restaurant with limited options, No staff at bar pool. The person at the reception lack professionalism. It was a young guy he wouldn’t allow me to check in with U.S. passport card. I explained I had no other forms of identification because I had recently lost my wallet. He said I needed a valid passport and I said this is a valid passport. He tried saying the rules came from Quintana Roo tourism which was a lie. I checked on the website. The website clearly specifies acceptable forms of identity passport cards. When I mentioned that. He then proceeded to say it was the hotel manager rules. When I asked to speak to the manager he said she will say the same thing as I did in a laughing way. He finally called her and she said it was ok. I could check in. It was just a horrible experience. Definitely not going back there.

We had a good time. The pool is nice. The beach was small but they kept it free of sea weed. It's an older hotel so the wear and tear is visible. The on site restaurant is ok however the selection is limited. You are quite a ways out from the coco bongo area. But the busses stop within a few blocks if u don't Uber. We didn't get what we expected but we weren't completely let down.

The AC did not work properly. Very humid, stuffy & damp in the room. Bathroom ceiling was leaking. Couches & chairs in the rooms were stained. Sliding doors to the balcony were very hard to slide open. “Inclusive breakfast “ was very minimal & not good. Resort was poorly kept and very old!! Stay away!!

If you’re looking for a hotel and not trying to spend a lot I would suggest staying here , it’s not luxurious but it’s a very good hotel ! The pool is amazing and very relaxing , along with the amazing view of the beach , which was what I was looking for , a hotel by the beach. The staff here are very attentive to helping with whatever it is you need . Room service came to clean everyday which was a plus ! This hotel is close to everything like places to eat or the downtown area just take a short uber . I would recommend this hotel I don’t have anything negative to say ! They also have 2 bars ! I would return to this hotel again if given the chance .

I like that they had a pool with a bar in the middle and that they had a restaurant right on the property too. Prices weren't very high and the room was amazing. I didn't even realize the room had a hot tub until I got there which was nice. My only complaint is that there was literally nothing around except a oxxo store which is like a Mexico 711. I walked over two miles and didn't see any other stores except one. Other than that, the resort basically had everything else.

The staff were excellent. Every time we had a question they managed to answer our questions and were very helpful. The only issue is the washroom smelt so bad due to not having any way to for it out. I also believe their is something wrong with toilet its self. The flash was so so and didn't have enough pressure. The pool area was nice but their were rust in some of the parts. If this things can be fixed am sure it nice place for a budget friendly.

I was given a room when o arrived but the a/c stop working they first said they fixed it but it was not fixed luckily there was a gentleman there and he helped me switch rooms and it was perfect the only problem with this hotel is that it’s very very out dates the lounge chairs for the beach are broken and dirty the regular lounge chairs to tan are old and need to be replaced the breakfast is trash the food that they sell is no good I asked for a cheese burger well done and it came back raw the drinks are amazing and there nachos as well the staff is very friendly but they need to improve on the menu for breast munch and dinner it’s sucks for sure the only good thing I did see that they would clean the pool and check the water every few hours but those chairs are horrible and uncomfortable the ones like I said for the beach are ripped and broken they need to improve that and uodate all the rooms the worst thing they do t have phones in the room so if we need something at what ever time we have to go out of our way and walk downs stairs it’s crazy I never seen a room with. I phone I had balcony it was a little dirty and the sliding door was jamming the bathroom smelled like urin it was disgusting luckily I bought mini cleaning supplies the pullout couch was disgusting n very very dirty the really need to invest and remodel the room and put phones because it’s crazy how I had to go 6 times down stairs because of the a/c until they moved me finally would I come again NOPE NEVER!

Great location, but maintenance needs serious work

Location is the best thing about Hotel Cyan. It sits right on the beach with a nice pool area, and the views are beautiful. You're basically steps from the ocean, which makes up for a lot.

That said, the maintenance state leaves a lot to be desired. The toilets in the room don't work properly, the room smells musty/moldy, and the sliding door doesn't close well so it feels insecure. There aren't enough power outlets to charge your phone and other devices. Also, you can hear a lot of outside noise coming into the room, so it's not very peaceful if you want to sleep.

If they fix the basic upkeep and soundproofing, this could be a great spot because the beach + pool setup is really nice. Right now though, the issues make it hard to recommend unless you're only there for the location and don't mind the flaws.

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The staff were so helpful and courteous. The view from the pool was incredible even though there was a lot of seaweed in many places we didn’t experience as much and the beach was very well maintained this made for a super plus during this high season for seaweed the pool could use a little TLC, but the staff does an excellent job of maintaining everything as clean as possible. The room was cozy and very clean but again the bathroom shower for our particular room needs a little TLC for the amount of money I paid for seven days. This is a Primo spot close to the downtown area about 15 minutes. I found out that you could pay 10 pesos to get on the bus that will take you to the downtown place if you come make sure you go to La Isla shopping center. Overall, the location was spectacular couldn’t ask for a better spot for such an affordable place.

The hotel's location is excellent—truly right on the beach. The cleanliness is adequate, but the hotel's overall appearance is quite unsightly; it looks abandoned. The pool coping is rusted, and paint is peeling off the walls in several areas. In my room, the bathroom door was rusted and had a piece breaking off. The glass balcony door was jammed and difficult to open. The elevator corners were rusted. I believe the owners should invest in renovating the exterior. You can't even make out the hotel's name from the avenue because the signage has faded away.

The worst hotel. Water leaking in the bathroom from the pipes of the AC. The didn't fix it. No manager during weekends or person in charge to resolve the problem. They said it would be done next day during the day while we were out of the hotel. We came back around 5pm...they didn't fix it. They gave us a different room and the water was filtering from the shower to the toilet through the floor. Crokoach came from the jacuzzi. The people from reception gave us a free breakfast and when we asked for it at their Restaurant, the waitress said that there was not a free breakfast set for our room. 10 minutes after they doubled checked, and finally gave us the free breakfast. As Mexican it was so embarrassing because I invited my friend to come for her very first time to Mexico. No more hotels in Cancun. Airbnb still being the best option for me. I took pictures and videos.

Room was noisy during the night from partying downstairs. Strangely nowhere to hang towels in bathroom. Tired overall, needs investment to lift the appeal (lounge area beside pool built with shipping pallets), but pretty beach and pool area. Front reception we later realised doubled surcharge cost for something at check-in, then argued that we didn't pay that amount, refused to believe credit card statement with resort name as vendor. Overall comfortable and a nice beach, but didn't feel like a relaxing resort with the \"rough edges\", ok for 1-2 nights.

If you value your sanity and the value of your hard earned money, avoid this place at all costs. They will cheat you at every turn possible. They charged extra for my husband, even though I had booked a 2 person room with a king bed. I had selected the 1 adult option while booking, bcoz my husbands plans were uncertain. The guy kept pointing to their additional guest policy and I tried really hard to explain that it was meant for in addition to standard occupancy which is 2 people. They tried to charge an outrageous price for airport transfer. I found one for less than half the price they quoted.
The room floor was also very wet and almost greasy and slimy - perfect metaphor for the hotel and staff. Was afraid of slipping and falling.

The one saving grace was the restaurant. Food was good. They also seem to have a decent pool and beach - neither of which we used since we were only there for one night.

Worst hotel experience ever!

Spend the extra and pick a nice one in the hotel zone. Plenty of choice there

A women staff member made my whole vacation experience terrible. I had arrange a surprise mariachi for my fiancée birthday, and I was unaware that for them to pass through the hotel I had to pay for each. I didn’t mind since they arrived and was my only option, however this women staff member ( who I forgot to write didn’t her name) said they couldn’t go through. No reason what so ever. She just said no, even though I was willing to pay for the band to go through to the very public beach. Instead the neighbors hotel was kind enough to let them through once they found out what was happening. Make the whole experience very awkward. Her attitude for the rest of the time there was uncomfortable, unfriendly, rude. Felt I couldn’t go to any staff afterwards. I understand the rules, but it seemed unnecessary, mean spirited. It ruined my whole vacation vibe, and my fiancé and I didn’t feel welcome. Very very terrible experience

The location was good, at the end of \"hotel row\", the food was amazing at the on site restaurant, the pool was nice and the room was spacious. The internet left something to be desired at times and the AC units struggled to keep up with the heat in the room, but overall it was a good stay.

The hotel, however, needs a good amount of renovating.
Our balcony door will not shut completley, letting the warm air in, toilet made a loud pitch sound when flushing, bathroom sink overfilled quickly, as if something was stuck in the pipes.

Charged for a stain on a \"floor rug\". Did not have time to dispute with hotel since our transportation had been waiting on us.

Let me start off by saying what a great stay at Hotel Cyan Resort&Spa.
My wife and I spent 5 days at this great place, from the start we did not have any issues or set backs. Airport to hotel is a 26 min drive with peek traffic but on slow times the actually ride time is 16 minutes not far from airport. Upon arrival the employees greet you with a smile and help with luggage, receptionist very professional and explain everything to ensure clear communication with us as guest. The room was clean, some reviews people have complained about the sewer smell but it’s not as bad as people make it seem, please take in consideration that Hotel Cyan is one of the first hotels here in Zona Hotelera Cancún ( I did my research my reviews are truthful and honest) the curb appeal is not as good as the new and modern hotels and resorts in Cancun. To some guests the prices are expensive for a stay at this hotel but to some that understand and know that get what you pay for, don’t expect to be catered as the all inclusive resorts which Hotel Cyan is not all inclusive. Now to praise the great staff Hotel Cyan has, I can say the service provided by Fernando which was at the courtyard bar, Yaima also was super and very friendly, Ismely and Mr. William were attentive at the restaurant. We paid for the breakfast and as a few complained about the portions, the restaurant does have other meal options for a certain price. Also Jose the pool guy was very professional and kept pool clean every morning.

While the advertisement is beautiful the resort is old and outdated. There is a ton of rust around the pool. The poolside equipment looks very dingy and you have to put a towel down.
If you get a stain on the linens you will be required to pay for it. I was afraid to even be comfortable in the room.
There was an additional per day charge for any extra person not included on the itinerary which was not stated on any prior correspondence.
The food at the restaurant was okay.
The rooms had a foul smell that we had to get air fresheners from Walmart to help.

I would not recommend.

The building and its amenities are in need of renovation, and it would be beneficial to have reception staff with stronger English proficiency, especially given that this is a popular vacation destination. During our stay, there were recurring noises coming from the toilet in our room, which disrupted our sleep on several occasions.

That said, the staff do make an effort to keep the property clean, which we appreciated. However, the listing states that breakfast is included, which was not the case. Instead, only an à la carte menu is offered, with food that is fairly average yet quite expensive.

In conclusion, this place may be a suitable option for budget travelers, but there are several areas that need improvement.

I found the physical structure and amenities very poorly maintained. To say “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” pretty much sums up the appearance! The location was good, with two local restaurants off site within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was decent. The pool and beach where good..The room cleanliness was excellent. To Sum it up, this was a low cost accommodation, clean and hospitable, with desperate need of remodeling. The hotel was built in 1946 ( The Bel Air Hotel)

The worst thing, almost unbearable, was air conditioning. When I checked in, the temperature inside the room was 17 degrees Celsius (64 F), (my phone can measure room temperature). The air conditioning unit display was 23 degree Celsius (74 F). I increased it to 25 C and air conditioning stopped working. Within an hour the temperature reached 30 C (86 F). Those were the only options. When I complained to the staff, they recommended to try various settings.

The pool area and the pool bar are great with a good selection of drinks. The restaurant is pretty good too. Moderate to high prices, but the taste and quality of the food is above average. Rooms have been remodeled but not improved. If you are facing the lagoon, you will on the highway side, which is super loud at night time. Expend extra to face the sea and get minimal noise during night time hours.

The location and the pool of this hotel is great. The issue is the place needs maintenance. PAINT!! RUST ON LIGHT FIXTURES, DIRTY AND STAINED FURNITURE.
The woman at the front desk in the morning needs to be trained on how to speak with customers. The young gentleman in the evening was GREAT!
Staff at the restaurant was hospitable but SLOW. We had to wait over 15 minutes for our check. This happened twice.
The gift shop woman was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Very clean rooms, friendly staff and personally I enjoy that they sell tours right there at the hotel and flexible in their tour prices.

The pool side seating were comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly. The spa and mass was great. I paied for the breakfast before our trip, it was very reasonable however they only served us the same foods every day, if there would be an option to pick your breakfast among different choices with higher price, I’ll prefer to do it.
The room was clean, all the sheets, towels however for 2 nights our next door room remained empty so we constantly smell sewage and humidity from our bathroom which we closed the bathroom door and we solve the issue. Generally it was ok for rate of 7.8 out of 10 scores. It was very budget friendly.
