The food is terrible. The drinks are all made with sugar free sodas and juices with the only other option being tequila shots or beer. The bar closes at 11pm, and doesn’t open until 11am. The staff is indifferent and not helpful. I tried to use my 2 reservations at the restaurants and all the times were taken except 9pm because their app was malfunctioning. Our door didn’t even close all the way, you could see sunlight thought the door frame where the lock is. Walls are paper thin. They try to strongarm you into buying a THIRTY YEAR membership so that you can access their other properties in Cancun. I’d call them the Spirit airlines of hotels. I was not impressed and will never go back. Budget friendly and flat out crappy are two different things. This place was disgusting and not worth it.

The resort is easily accessible from the airport. Property is a little dated but clean and staff is excellent. Ocean view room was worth the upgrade. The beach at the property is small and has eroded since last stay. Not a deal breaker, but there is better. Very walkable beach. Resort is smaller in size which is preferable for our liking. Pool options and entertainment were adequate.
The largest drawback from previous stay was the food and restaurant’s. They restrict your options for booking specialty restaurants to 3 per stay. The food options and buffet are just ok. The food options and quality of food has regressed significantly. Best options were from the daily pool side “chef” events and pizza. For a seven day stay, food options and quality will have me looking for a better option in the future unless improved. We have stayed at better for the same price.
Keep your great staff, but you have to improve your meals and availability.

We had a view of the next door resort to our front. To the left, the ocean, to the right, golf course and lagoon! It wasn’t too bad! Food was mostly decent. Comfy beds & pillows. Did not like the fact the you only get so many nights for dinner reservations based on the length of your stay….
And I absolutely hate the towel/towel card program. But all in all it was a decent stay.

Our stay was overall excellent. The property was clean and the staff were very responsive. The only flaws that we found were that our toilet did not work too well as the lever was broken and required us to fix it a couple times. The part we absolutely did not like was one of the time share salesmen who made us feel uncomfortable; he wanted us to visit a neighboring property and pushed us to commit. Once we changed our mind, you could tell he was mad every time we walked by him making our trip uncomfortable when running into him.

We had a panoramic room on the top floor. View of the ocean was superb and then had a view of the pool. The main pool with the swim up bar was where we spent most of our time. Most chairs were claimed by 7:30am if you wanted sun facing over the weekend. Staff were friendly and the activity staff were energetic bringing a lot of fun activities to the pool. Only con was red flag for the beach/ ocean. I wasn’t swimming and never deeper than waist but got whistled in by lifeguard. Much later in the day I was out again still in relatively shallow water unless hit by a bigger wave. Had to give room number to hotel manager for some reason after being waved in. That got to me when I wasn’t even swimming, just enjoying the water and standing in the waves. They were more strict than other areas of the beach.

We had a very pleasant and joyful vacation at GR Solaris. The ocean view was great, and the beach access was excellent. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming, which made the stay even better.
The only issue was some noise in the hallways, since there’s no carpet in the corridors or rooms, even normal conversations could carry. Other than that, we had a very positive experience overall.

I would like to report negligence during the implementation of my previously booked \"Day Trip to Tulum Mayan Ruins on February 25, 2026.\"
As part of the agreed-upon tour, three people were to be picked up from the GR SOLARIS hotel at approximately 7 a.m. The day before, I received information from Robin Sanches at 52 998 195 7170. This was a refusal to pick us up from the hotel, but instead, a pick-up point was assigned to another hotel (Crab House) approximately 5 km away. This meant a one-hour walk through unfamiliar terrain at night.

Our booking details include the following note under \"Inclusions\": \"Return transport to and from your Cancun or Riviera Maya hotel included.\"
In response to my request to comply with the terms of the agreement, we received an explanation that we had not paid for this service and that this was Expedia.ca's policy.
As a result, my wife cancelled the dangerous and disruptive trip in the middle of the night. My son and I arrived at the designated point on time. After about an extra hour, the delayed shuttle arrived, and it turned out it had passed our hotel, the GR Solaris, on its way to the pick-up location (!).
In this situation, we expect a refund for Terese Raubic, who was prevented from participating in the tour by an unjustified change to the contract terms.

The bar in the main lobby need more training in costumer service. If they don’t see the tip on advance they will give you attitude. Sad, but we tried to avoid their service.

Everything went well except for one major issue: we could clearly hear our next-door neighbors’ conversations through the connecting door between the rooms. We could only sleep well during the last two days of our stay when those guests had already left.

As a suggestion, it might be worth considering removing the connecting door and properly sealing the wall, as other guests will likely run into the same issue.

Also, a recommendation: the pool game in the lobby needs better management. We asked twice to play and waited more than two hours, but the person at reception let others use it. First he forgot about our turn, and then he allowed some drunk guests to play instead. A simple roster system could keep everyone satisfied.

Aside from these issues, we would like to thank the rest of the staff for being very nice and polite during our stay.

The property was clean and well maintained. Pool was very clean every day as well as the surrounding area. Our room was very clean and had a balcony with a partial view of the ocean. Bed and pillows were ok until the 4th night when I noticed the mattress was too firm. We ate at the buffet for all of our meals as the menu at the restaurants didn't suit our group. But the buffet had something for everyone. The poolside snack bar was great. They had burgers, hot dogs, wings and fries, etc. Alaina kept delicious pizzas coming for us and he was so nice. Angel kept the drinks coming by the pool and took excellent care of us. Our group of ten agreed that we would come back to this place.

This resort was wonderful. While the property is a little older than others in the area, it was modern and. Very clean. The staff are amazing. The food and presentation was wonderful. And the 3 al la cart restaurants were lovely. Rooms were well appointed. The Spa was beautiful and massage very professional. The grounds are well kept. Pools were very clean and cool just the way we like them. We will certainly go back.

Hotel was well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and entertainment team- Isreal, Roxy, and Sebastian were fantastic. Fun daily activities and nightly entertainment.

Room had perfect view of the Gulf.

Our biggest complaint was overall food quality and selection. Breakfast was buffet and some of the food did not look fresh. Had to request bacon- but they are happy to get it for you. The other restaurants- one did not sound good to us and then Don Gus had good appetizers and lime soup, but the entrees were just ok. Nothing to get excited about. Our meal at Marco Polo was good. The pizza counter by the pool was delicious! Wish there was a larger selection of food options overall.

For a return visit- We would like more from the food and found we prefer adults only, but great small resort and perfect for families. They have a very loyal following. Would recommend overall.

We traveled in a large group of 30 and the only snag was eating together (understandably so). The activity/entertainment staff is by far better than any resort we’ve attended.

Ocean was partially visible from our room, we could definitely see it once we stepped out into the balcony. The pool was nice but very cold (not heated) but honestly after the first plunge it was fine! Staff was great! Room was clean. A/C wasn’t the greatest but with the giant fan in the room it did the trick and it was fine. They also have filtered water refill stations on you room floors, which is great for those worried about water in Mexico.

To start off the room I stayed in had a smart tv that did not work the entirety of my stay. We reached out for assistance and never received any help. We were given black “VIP”wristbands with no VIP perks. The food was terrible with the exception of the pizza by the pool. Staff made it a tolerable experience because everyone was friendly. Safe to say I will not be returning.

Staff were rude & don't smile at you.They only know common English words but when you ask for something,the order is always wrong because they don't understand English.The checkin staff doesnt smile or greet you at any point.The checkout staff will rip you off so be careful when you are paying because they over charged us.If you ever complain during your stay(for ex.they called my sister's room at 12:30Am two times to remind them that the checkout is at 12Pm next day).Imagine their kids woke up crying in the middle of the night & they had a hard time putting them back to sleep.So whenever you complain about something they did wrong(almost everyday),they never apologize or reward you by a small gesture such as example spa or anything small(other hotels would do way more to ensure guests have an amazing experience).Food was limited to 1 buffet and the 3 restaurants were packed always.One time we got a reservation & the 1st course came after 1.5hours.Even when you tip waiters(generously)they don't care & their service doesn't change.It's like everyone hates their job there & they are always tired not smiling.The only good thing about this resort was the entertainment team because they created a show every night & fun activities.Otherwise everything from staff,rooms,food,checkin and checkout experience were all a waste of money.We were a big group of family(almost 20)&we tried to enjoy with each other as much as we can.We are travellers and this was the worse all inclusive hotel

First of all the Staff was top notch. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Jaar at the Italian Restaurant treated us like celebrities and we could be more thankful to him.

Now as far as the property. It was windy so that did put a slight damper on our week but the pools and the all the buildings were always clean. Rooms were nice if a bit older furniture. The bathrooms seem to be recently updated so they were nice always had hot water.

Food. The restaurant food was very good. The outdoor pizzas were very good. The hamburgers by the pool were good. The buffet was terrible. Breakfast at least had a nice lady making omelets but the rest of the food was either cold(pancakes and French toast) of not a very good breakfast selection. The lunch and dinners were also not very good. There is no food past 8pm until 7am. Sorry 6am at the small coffee shop has cold bagels and a couple snacks. You can not get a soda until 1030 at the bar inside and 11 on the outside bars. Really should have some type of drinks available in the morning.

We did utilize the gym it’s small which was fine since only a couple people use it anyway. We did partake in the yoga in the am and it was well run.

Do not fall for the free tours if you listen to the presentation. Told us it was 60 min. We were there for 2 1/2 hours for $100 voucher. High pressure sale on the time share.

The rating on the hotel was a 4.1 I think 3.1 would be more appropriate. I honestly would not

Also, no food options after the buffet closes at 10pm. With a younger crowd, we were looking for late night snacks and there were zero options… even for purchase.

Lines to buffet, poor choice of dishes, no food left at chef's station leaves bad impression. So called pool/bar at the main lobby is lrft to imagination what to do there. The resort looks like is struggling to keep up with appearance but in no vain. Beside the gorgeous sea which we love a lot I wouldn't recommend to go there. It's not even 3 stars . The Speedy shuttle service was not speedy at all, in fa t they had us wait for more than an hour to get from airport to hotel giving lame excuses though the trip was about 20 minites. That also spiled our vacation mood.

Room was great! Room staff always treated us well and cleaned well. Entertainment staff - Israel and Rubin have always been so friendly and helpful. They remember and greet everyone like they are special. Make sure people can be involved if the want. I am not impressed with new management. Pool was cold most of the time we were there. Last 2 days finally warm enough to get in and enjoy activities. Only able to reserve 3 times in the restaurants which wasn’t great. The buffet was okay but not great. The omelets in the morning were my favorite thing. Oliglia ( not sure spelling) was a master at it. Bartenders Mauricio and Abraham and wait staff very friendly and took great care of us. Loved Pinto, Lizeth, and Angel. Now, management… requested pool to be heated from day one, told it would be and it wasn’t. Attempted to request more reservations but ignored. Entertainment manager wore no name tag or the new uniforms but was present expecting them to follow his rules. As guests we felt the strain amongst staff although no one said anything or acted differently, it felt off. It is not the same vibe from the previous 5 years and I will be looking for different resorts to visit in the future.

Do not stay here! The staff was not friendly or helpful when needed help with multiple things. Our app did not work correctly for dinner and when asking multiple times for help we were just told to go to the restaurant when it opened. Each time we were turned away. The buffet food was awful. The bathrooms in the facility were always out of toilet paper and hand soap even at 11am. Our air did not work in our room so we had to go down every day and ask for help. When I asked if we could get our refrigerator restocked with water and beer due to the inconvenience we were told no. The pool bar water was dirty and slimy most days. I will never go back again or recommend this place. The beach chairs were awful and it was not awful area

Great stay. Liked the option to have either a quiet adult only pool or the busy family pool. Loved that the WIFI worked wherever you went and never had to log back in after the first time.
A/C in the bedroom was either off or freezing (ok as it had a fan.) Entertainment in the lobby was very loud. Drinks weren’t consistent throughout but the pours were plentiful!

DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH A BIG GROUP.

I traveled to Cancun with a group of 15 people (12 adults and 3 kids), and staying at GR Solaris Cancun was one of the most frustrating travel experiences we’ve had.

We planned this trip 5 months in advance, made specific room requests early (king beds, crib, rooms close together), and none of it was honored. Check-in alone took 45 minutes. We were given no king room, no crib, and our rooms were scattered across different floors. If you’re counting on your requests being respected — don’t.

The room itself looked decent at first glance, but we had two serious issues:
•The sliding balcony door did not lock (major safety concern).
•We found dirty boxer underwear hidden between the extra pillows.

When we reported this, staff showed zero urgency and never once apologized. Finding someone else’s underwear in your room should not be treated as “normal,” yet that’s exactly how it felt. We asked to move rooms and requested to be closer to family — that turned into another nightmare. They made us check out of our room before 11am but didn’t have a new room available until 2pm. We had two kids with us. We were left waiting around for hours with luggage. Completely inconvenient and poorly handled.

Now let’s talk about restaurants — because this was the biggest disaster.

If you are a group larger than 3–4 people, be prepared for chaos.

Room was clean, couldn’t find dust in even the hardest to reach places. We really enjoyed the all-inclusive benefits and the Expedia VIP perks put it over the top. Food quality and selection was solid, and for a family with kids the buffet and snack bars are clutch. Seemed like there was also a daily surprise cookout almost every day with something delicious. We also enjoyed the daily activities, particularly the water aerobics with Israel and Ruben. We only went to one evening show, but we found it entertaining. It was clear that the staff care and put effort into making the experience enjoyable for guests. The beach was very nice and the ocean was the most spectacular color I’ve ever seen. We would be very happy to have an opportunity to stay here again.

The facilities are good overall, but the rooms need upgrades. Entertainment is very limited, and the hotel feels too quiet. Except for a few friendly staff members, most employees seemed unhappy. Food variety is poor and quality is average, even at the specialty restaurants. Breakfast gets overcrowded, and the service at the overflow restaurant is weak due to understaffing. Overall, I would not return to this hotel.

It is very rare of me to give feedback especially negative. I will start with the positives. The beach was beautiful, the food was good, and most of the staff was very nice. The front desk staff was awful. When we arrived, they did not provide our connected rooms as we booked on Expedia. No consideration or apology, basically too bad deal with it. Then the following day they tried to up charge $1,000 saying my daughter who is 14 should be charged as an adult. I spent hours of my vacation getting in touch with Expedia to speak to them and say that is not in their policy with Expedia. They never answered the phone when Expedia called but harassed me about it each day. One specific manager L. Martinez was so rude and obnoxious he basically killed the whole trip. In addition, when you request towels, blankets, or anything for the rooms, good luck. I slept under a sheet all week. No matter how many times I asked for a blanket it never came. Towels took 2 days. The beds in the room are very small. They are somewhere between a US twin and full size. My family will never be staying at a Solaris location again.

We recently stayed at GR Solaris Cancun as a VIP Expedia traveler through the Expedia app, and unfortunately, the experience fell significantly short of expectations for an all-inclusive resort at this price point.
While the beach itself is beautiful and well-maintained, the overall resort did not live up to the descriptions provided. Beach service, such as drink or food delivery, was not available, which is a standard amenity at comparable properties.
The food quality was consistently disappointing—meals were often flavorless, poorly prepared, and lacked variety or appeal. As an all-inclusive experience, this was a major letdown.
Service from staff was inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. The concierge was unresponsive despite multiple attempts to reach her over several days, including via the recommended app messaging. When contact was finally made, it was only for a checkout reminder call at 11:30 a.m. on departure day, threatening penalties for not vacating by noon. Promises made during the stay were not followed through, and information that should have been provided was omitted.
As a VIP Expedia member, I noticed that other guests appeared to receive more visible recognition (such as banners or attentive service), while our perks felt minimal—a small $3 bottle of champagne—and no meaningful enhancements.
The housekeeping staff were the highlight, consistently providing clean and well-maintained rooms.
Overall, this resort does not meet the standards!

This was our second time staying at GR Solaris, and once again, it did not disappoint! My wife and I came back with a group of friends, and we all had an amazing experience.

The staff truly makes this place special — everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is unforgettable. You really feel taken care of from the moment you arrive.

The food and drinks were excellent, with plenty of options for everyone. The accommodations are very comfortable and cozy, making it easy to relax and feel at home. The amenities are outstanding, and there’s always something to enjoy. We especially loved the live shows, karaoke at the bar, and the pool activities — they’re fun, engaging, and create such a great atmosphere.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, and the best part is that it’s just a few steps away from the resort. Waking up and being so close to the ocean is truly special.

We genuinely love this resort and will definitely be coming back soon. It already feels like our second home!

The ocean view from our room was beautiful, but within our room, the bathroom door would not close, the bathroom sink leaked, and the room door had to be closed with some force in order to latch it. (Room-3 star)
The staff was attentive and very friendly! From the bartenders to the maid service, the staff was accommodating and helpful. (Staff-5 star)
The buffet food was mediocre, and when we ate at Don Gus, the portions were small and the steak was chewy and inedible. (Food-2 star)
The entertainment at the pool was good throughout the day, but it was lacking in the evening. (Entertainment-3 star)
Suggestions— The swim up bar and music should be at the adults only pool area.

Had issues with the room. The bathroom handle broke, water dripped from the ceiling vent on the floor, and service to repair issues were slow. Also, the breakfast and lunch were good. Dinner in the specialty restaurants the menu was limited and service was poor.
