We stayed on the Coral Level and had a beautiful view of the pool and all of the activities that took place on the Coral side. The main resort was nice but we couldn't be happier that we upgraded to the coral level. Far more relaxed and adult centered. Food and Drink were fantastic and the staff were great. Would certainly consider visiting again.

I had a great experience staying here. It was truly a blast! Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. I loved everything about this place and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway!

Fab ocean-view balcony room with David keeping it sparkling clean. Food was excellent--so much to choose from, you can't go away hungry. Loved the special food at lunch by the pool. We traded the animals of the Iberostar Tucan in Playa del Carmen for the city life of Cancun. Didn't see a lizard but lots of local birds. The beach was great. Pools were sparkling clean, but a bit cold in February. Entertainment in the way of mariachi bands and other basic dancers, etc., was a bit lacking. I expected more shows and live music around the property. The reception staff, concierge and guest services were very friendly and helpful.

I had a wonderful time at Iberostar Selection Cancun. The resort is stunningly beautiful and very well decorated. The beach is lovely and the water colour was spectacular. The pools were very nice as well. The food was amazing with lots of great fine dining options. Make sure to make a reservation for the Japanese restaurant early. I also greatly enjoyed the nightly entertainment shows. My favourite show was Viva Mexico, which showcased dances and music from various regions in Mexico. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. Overall, this is a great place to spend your vacation.

The room was okay-ish. The first room we got had too many issues. It’s washroom’s exhaust fan was making screeching noise, but since the light and exhaust were both operated through one switch, we HAD to hear the noise and cant avoid it. The bathroom door had a wide gap and the person using it could be seen easily. We got our room changed which fixed the exhaust system issue but see through door gap was still there. The room’s jacuzzi’s hot water supply was not working. And the main door made a loud screeching and thudding sound when used. We also were given 2 double beds when we booked for king sized bed. The room was not being cleaned properly. The balcony had food items from previous guests on the floor, which were not removed throughout our stay.

Arrived on the Sunday of the Super Bowl. This is my 5th or 6th time at this resort. I've spent over 50k US over the last 8 years at this resort. We went down to the performance area to watch the Super Bowl and were told to have a table, we needed to buy a bottle of overpriced alcohol which was displayed on a table. This immediately put a bad taste in my mouth.

There are not enough restaurants for the resort. We showed up at the italian restaurant and got in line at 5:20. The front desk had told us the restaurant opened at 5:30 but they actually start taking names at 5pm. We had to wait 2 hours to finally get a table which is too much. Also, the outdoor area of the main buffet that was sequestered for the italian restaurant was not in use that evening with increased our irritation. The resort should have never closed down the mexican restaurant (the version that had a buffet).

Aside from that, the beach has improved since last year due to the reclamation project. Food was very good. Soup at japanese restaurant needs improvement. Staff is consistently friendly. Grounds are in good shape.

Only 5 small restaurants and restaurants alternately open and close base on the days of the week. You have to be at 5:30 on waiting in line at the restaurants for dinner otherwise they will not allow guests to be served once restaurants are full. Only one choice if the buffet. Rooms are out of date so old tiles look like the motel grade. Don’t go here.

The staff were helpful and polite. Room was fine. Double beds are too small. Most hotels have queen size beds. Pool water was so cold especially kids pool. Since weather was not sunny, pool water temperatures were frigid. Very disappointment. Biggest problem was 4 people from our group of 9 got food poisoning, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. After eating mostly at buffet because It was so difficult to get a table at the other restaurants for dinner. Not enough capacity to accomodate guests at other restaurants so we were forced to eat at the buffet all 3 meals. Food poisoning should not happen at 4 star hotel. Only good thing was the fitness instructor Louis that did the aquafit class every morning. His enthusiasm and energy made his class fun. Not coming back to this place again.

The room was clean. Staff was pretty friendly but not very accommodating to simple requests. I have stayed at nicer and less nice hotels and they have all tried to accommodate requests.
Buffet: I requested honey for my mother's tea as she was feeling ill and was told they did not have access to honey at dinner time. I requested a fresh made huevos rancheros plate and was told they were on the warmer. The temperature of the food was not hot. I think this contributed greatly to the substandard rating for food quality. The buffet hosts were not excited about setting our table for our group of 15 daily. They would ask us to sit at two different tables, Often times we would just go in two groups and use one table. The servers however, were really nice.

Reservations: We were offered a reservation at the steakhouse for 15 at 7:00 p.m. and when part of my party arrived they informed us that the reservation had in fact been made for 5:30 p.m. that day. When we spoke to the gentleman that made the reservation he noticed the error but was unable to grant another reservation to the restaurant as a courtesy. He offered an alternate restaurant but the specific times he offered did not work for our prior commitments.

The room was clean and put together daily but the AC could not be adjusted. My room was at 20C and when I called to request a temp change they said they couldn't unlock. We had 6 other rooms and they were all able to adjust it. With minor changes this could be a great hotel.

Room was great and beach front access was excellent. Food choices were limited due to no availability on the onsite restaurant due to first come first serve policy for all but one restaurant. They do try to upsell you the vacation packages to pay them exorbitant prices in four years to enjoy for 20+ years. You can avoid that as staff is really friendly.

Overall clean property and friendly staff. Only down fall is the water in shower and hot tub never got hot. Restaurant’s are nice but I don’t like that you can’t make reservations for all of the restaurants only the hibachi. The resort is big and folks from coral side come to selection side to eat making it even harder to get a spot to eat at the restaurant if your not first 10 people in line.

The rooms are fine as well as the rest of the property. We all got sick, vomiting because of the tourista. I am allergic to dairy products and the labelling on the food is totally erroneous. The personnel knows about it, but nobody is doing anything,. I was congested because of my allergy during the whole stay. We had another week reserved for golf and pickle ball in Riviera maya in February and we canceled.

This was an overall nice property with nice location, beautiful beach and pools. The food truck and tacos by the pool were hits for our midday lunch/snack. The buffet always had something we could enjoy. Disappointed in their process for getting into their restaurants and that their room service ends promptly at 11 pm. Their drinks also never tasted like quality alcohol. For those reasons we’d likely look to stay at a different resort next time.

For this price point, the overall hotel was lacking. We have stayed at several other hotels on the cheaper and higher end in the area and this just did not meet any of our (group of 8) expectations. The activities both day and night were lacking. Unlike other resorts we did not feel like the staff (despite a few) really went out of their way to say hello or check in on how things were going. However the very last day there was a noticeable change in all the staff's treatment of all guests. There was a strong presence of more management around. I do wish that would have been the case all week during our stay. Most days no one said a word to us at breakfast and on our last day we must have had 10 people ask how we were and how they could help us. I do want to mention the staff members that did take the time to connect with us during our stay - the day time entertainment team members were super nice - esp Jimmy who remembered our names and where we were from after just the 1st day and went out of his way to say hi to us. Raul at the bistro was fantastic, Roger at the El Maguey was great for lunch. Also, Santiago and the entire swim up bar staff was the best part of our stay. We did 2 nights in the regular building and 3 nights with swim out rooms and they were so much better. They are way more expensive, but we did think it was worth it as the rooms have a better layout, views are amazing and the seating area was great. All in all I would not go back here.

Limited space, otherwise I’d write a book of a review. The rooms we booked were unavailable. They put us in two kings for 6 people. Told us they’d get us the correct rooms when available. 2 of our kids had to sleep on cots. Then they gave those rooms promised to someone else. Finally got in them after 2 days. No discount or refund. Restaurants have no availability. Always full. They send you to the buffet. Hotel rooms old, dark and dirty. No chairs available on beach or at pool. Always occupied by people’s items but no actual people. Buffet food okay but not great. Limited staff. No ice cream bar outside. It’s closed. Staff gives you different answers about everything. Late check out is 15 dollars per room per hour. Only 3 elevators for entire hotel and no stairs. Stairs are emergency exit with alarm only. Filtered water in large glass bottles. Bring your own water bottle. Air conditioner is very loud in rooms. Keeps you awake at night. There are plenty of other hotels in Cancun. Do not stay here no matter how good of a deal you might get. Trust me on this. They are trying to cut too many corners to save money. Also the pool is cold. Heater must be turned off.

We stayed in an ocean-facing room with a balcony, which was absolutely beautiful. The resort occupies an excellent location right on the beach, boasting white sand and turquoise blue water. During our stay, we did not encounter any seaweed. The standout feature of the resort is the large infinity pool with a bar, which was a highlight for us. The property offers a variety of activities and nightly shows, providing good entertainment options.

However, our experience with the all-inclusive food was mixed. We had one vegetarian guest in our group, and the vegetarian options were quite basic and limited. There seemed to be a lack of understanding of vegetarian cuisine. Additionally, getting onto the waitlist for specialty restaurants was nearly impossible unless you arrived before 6 PM.

The guest service did not always meet expectations. At times, staff were rude and lacked empathy, especially when handling requests that fell outside their routine. The approach felt more like they wanted to dismiss the request rather than create a pleasant service experience.

Overall, while the resort offers some excellent amenities and entertainment, there are areas, especially food variety and guest service, that could be improved.

We stayed at the pool villa, but the facility was unprecedentedly poor.. the toilet got broken every morning and the ceiling fan was also noisy and looks like it will fall off soon. The service was good but considering the price and being high star hotel, we are very regretted to choose the room/hotel.

This was our 5th trip to Cancun over the holidays and our first time at Iberostar. Overall, the accommodations were average. The buffet was OK, compared to others, but the service at times was lacking. One standout was the restaurants, they were top notch. That said, make sure you get there early to put your bar on the list as they don’t take reservations. The pools were clean but again, the service was lacking. If you wanted food or drink you were better off going to the bar on your own. Not a big issue but for what we paid we expected more. The biggest pro, which we loved was access to the beach. Located immediately behind the pool it was easy to jump between the two. Our teenage girls loved this setup. Also, not having to fight for lounge chair was a bonus. Finally, they could use more than one location for coffee. The cafe is nice but gets crowded, especially in the morning. They may want to consider a few self serve coffee stations throughout the resort. This would be a big win for those just looking for their morning caffeine.

The fact that you require customers to spend additional money ($100 spend to receive $25 credit) is absurd. What's the purpose of offering resort credit? The food was good. Overall very accommodating and nice.

Room was amazing. We had the family suite on the 5 th floor. Room was cleaned everyday exceptionally. The resort is beautiful and big. We were there for six days and it was the best Christmas ever. They went all out and Santa made time for every child there with pictures music and a gift for ever child. Iberostar is a 5 star in every aspect. Food pools staff and the whole environment. Will definately be staying there again.

Room and amenities were good. Only issue (and for me a big one) was ability to use restaurants. We were there for 4 days and were not able to get to American Bistro, Italian restaurant or hibatchi. It was buffet for lunch and dinner. After first day or so was soooo boring. I went to guest services also but they were not able to help as there was no reservation system in hotel app or otherwise. Every time we went to restaurant front desk, we were told that all tables for the day were already booked and there was no space left in waiting list too.
All in all, decent hotel but food / restaurants are mismanaged. I would not go here again.

Just returned from a quick 4 night couples get away. I’ve stayed at many all inclusive resorts and this is one of my favorite. Very clean, staff was very friendly. Food was good. We really liked the tacos and the burger truck near the beach as an option other than the buffet for lunch. The only restaurant we did was the Japanese because it’s the only one you can make a reservation.. it was decent. We golfed multiple times, golf course is pristine and we saw a few crocs! We definitely plan on coming back!

Everything was all top notch! Staff, amenities, quality of food and drink, and transportation services between airport were also flawless. If I had to have a criticism, it would be the restaurant reservation policy. We were a larger group, we chose Iberostar for a family wedding, many of our group paid extra for upgraded rooms, but yet when we wanted to add 2 late additions to our party, and showed up at restaurant, we were told “no, a couple people must leave.” I’ve been in the hospitality industry, and you never ask guests to leave. Especially due to the size of a group. Instead of treating it like a problem, treat it as an opportunity and be accommodating, someway, somehow! Especially when an adjacent table had space available. It was embarrassing for those who stayed as well as those who were asked to leave. That’s unfortunate, and disappointing. Hopefully a remedy can be made for future larger groups to avoid guests feeling bad about something that should have had a simple accommodating solution to. Outside of this, the rest of our stay was enjoyable!

The pool was too cold.

Too many families with children using the hot tub, even though there is a pool designated for children with slides and activities, families would bring groups of children into the hot tub with bags of toys and even blow-up swim rings.

We enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Cancun very much.

We stayed at Family Suite on 9th floor. It is a unit at the end of the floor with ocean view and spacious terrace. It was spectacular! -- it feels brand new, ultra-modern, super spacious (958 sqft). Extremely clean with very comfortable beds. We enjoy every minute staying in the suite.

The resort is beautiful, well maintained, all staff work very hard and are very nice.

Food are good, but very little Asian food.

From the staff to the pool concierge very polite. Staff always smiling, make you feel welcome. We keep disliking the timeshare approach speech.
Entertainment at night was average. After all, it was good.

Pros:
-The beach and the pool were beautiful.
-The kids enjoyed the Star Camp
-The rooms are clean
-The Buffet had lots of selection and the food was great
-Alberto from the excursion table was very helpful
-Roger and the bartender from the Mexican restaurant by the beach was amazing!

Cons:
-They only have one area to pick up/drop off towels
-The restaurants were such a let down - no reservation is needed but it is so difficult to get in. They

The room was clean, staff were nice, the food was delicious, there were a lot of activies to enjoy. It had great pools. I just enjoyed my stay and I would stay again if I go to Cancun again.
