The hotel was clean, and the overall property was well maintained.

The staff was friendly and attentive when tips were given; however, service quality noticeably declined when tipping was not involved.

The specialty restaurants require reservations well in advance. If you're unable to secure a reservation, your only dining option is the Tatish buffet. The food was decent, but many dishes lacked seasoning and flavor.

The bar service was excellent once you started tipping. Without tipping, the service felt less attentive, and the quality of the tequila served seemed noticeably lower.

Don’t let the advertisements fool you. Grand Oasis Cancun was one of the most disappointing resorts we have ever visited.

We paid extra to upgrade our room, only to find a dirty, outdated space with blood-stained towels, paint peeling off the walls, missing shower tiles, and a rusty toilet seat that was literally falling off. It looked nothing like the photos used to market the property.

The food was terrible, check-in was a mess, and the resort made everything—from dinner reservations to basic guest service—more difficult than it needed to be.

The biggest surprise was that this “party resort” had almost no atmosphere. Very little music, almost no nightlife, and most activities shut down early. We ended up leaving the resort regularly just to find entertainment.

After more than 15 years of booking through Expedia, I am shocked that they continue to promote a property that feels so misrepresented online. Grand Oasis Cancun was not just disappointing—it felt like a bait-and-switch.

Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Bars don’t open until 11am. No mimosas. Constantly harassed to upgrade your package. Food is good, but limited options. Rude staff in the restaurants. Room service is non existent. The beds are rock hard. The room a/c is a joke. Most of the staff can’t / won’t speak English. I go to Mexico annually and stay at different resorts. Hands down, this was the worst resort I have ever been to. The only good part of the resort was the spa (but you pay exorbitant amounts of money for it. Even higher than US prices for massages).

The WORST all-inclusive resort experience we’ve ever had.

We booked this resort for our sons’ senior graduation trip based on advertising that promoted it as a fun, energetic party resort. The reality was the exact opposite.

Check-in took over an hour because staff claimed they couldn’t find our Expedia reservation. Another person in our group had already paid for services through the resort’s website but was repeatedly asked for additional payment.

Our group spent an extra $1,000 on upgrades hoping to improve the experience. It didn’t. The rooms were small, outdated, dirty, and not worth the extra cost.

The food was terrible. We expected mixed quality based on reviews, but much of it was barely edible.

Making dinner reservations felt intentionally difficult, and once we finally secured them, we were forced to sign agreements acknowledging additional fees if we were late.

The biggest disappointment was the complete lack of atmosphere. There was very little music, almost no nightlife, and most activities shut down before 11 PM. We ended up leaving the resort almost every night so the boys could find entertainment elsewhere.

What frustrates me most is how misleading the marketing is compared to the actual experience. After more than 15 years of booking travel through Expedia, I’m genuinely disappointed that Expedia continues to partner with and promote a resort that feels built around false advertising, upselling, and disappointing guests.

We just got back from Grand Oasis Cancun after 7 days stay. We had a group of 14 family members with 5 hotel rooms.

Pro: Restaurant and bar staff are great and attentive. They would do their best to accommodate your request. Many times, the drinks are filled before it is empty (I do give small tips on all occasions, since I used to work in service area). They deserve it.

Con: 2 rooms out of 5 AC didn't work. We were there the first night in room (2527) and we can only have the lower fan setting worked which was too hot for us to sleep. After checking on the other room (2535) on the same floor in Palmar 2 the next morning. We went down to concierge to complaint. It took another 3 hours to have the room change. When we asked for room change, the concierge only offered a king bed. We have 3 adult and 1 young children. We told them, it will not work. They replied we paid for the room but not the bed configuration. Finally, they gave in with a double bed in room (2518). The AC worked, the small refrigerator did not. For the other room, the concierge told my family member the AC will cool down from 3-8PM. We know it was an excuse, so my family member went downstairs with me. They realize they cannot have an excuse after seeing me again (we were all engineers, so we know the AC wasn't working at all).

Water was dripping down the ceiling in room 2527. I am running out of room to list more. Do not stay there unless you want hassle. I will not return. LOL

My experience at this hotel was disappointing. The staff’s service was poor and needs significant improvement. The food quality also fell far below expectations, both at the buffet and in most of the restaurants. The only restaurant that truly stood out was the sushi restaurant, which was the highlight of our stay.

The rooms are in need of maintenance. They feel outdated, and several things were not working properly, including the air conditioning and the shower fixtures.

Considering the amount of revenue this hotel generates, I expected better-quality liquor options, as well as more activities and entertainment for both adults and children. Overall, I believe the hotel has potential, but it needs to invest more in its facilities, service, and dining experience to provide a stay that matches its reputation and price point.

We had a beach suite room and it was beautiful. We got to our room and the tv was broken they fixed it right away. The fridge in our room didn’t work we didn’t want to be annoying and bother them again. No big deal to us. The pool was great. The beach was beautiful. The food was okay. Never amazing. Bars were great. Staff was so nice and helpful.

Nothing unique. Grounds were ok for the most part. Pools too much leaves or stuff from bushes. Building is old and room real small can barely fit in a bed if you got a double bed room. Found couple cucroches in the room the ones that multiply fast. Just hope didn’t bring any back home. Breakfast restaurant to far from the buildings in the north side. If rain you got there all wet cause you have to go across the pools to eat. Food I will give 5 out of 10. Nothing change same food in the 5 days we stay there. Especiallty restaurants week we only had chance to use the steak one and was a 9 out of 10. The only down is if you have a glass of wine have to pay for a whole bottle. Can’t purchase just a glass. The employees 99% of the are really nice.

We took a party of 10 based on a previous stay in 2020 including our recent graduating seniors to celebrate. While the resort is nice and it was clean, we were extremely disappointed that they no longer have nightly shows in the pyramid, a casino, Kinky Nightclub, or the Coyote Nightclub despite still be advertised and the food quality and choices has greatly diminished as well. We talked with the concierge and they admitted that they have not updated their website to reflect accurate activities. Additionally, apart from just a few, most staff at the pool bars and the buffets were not very nice or personable.

When I arrived in they had me in a room with two double beds but i requested a King and had a confirmed email saying that I would recieve a King bed, so they change my room to a whole different building where there was live entertaining late at night keeping me up. Usually I wouldnt care but this was supposed to be a relaxation solo trip. Then not all the restaurants are included in the all inclusive only pyramid rooms could go to all the bars and restaurants none of this was told to me a head of time, then i was told i would get a free massage if I went to a promotion sales meeting and that was lie. So my experience I wouldnt suggest this resort there are so many to settle for this one. I have visited 3 other resorts during my stay here and the oasis was the worst one the room smelled like paint and the loud music at night was not working for me

We LOVED this property in January 2020. So much so that we booked a group of 12 for a graduation gift for our boys May 31-4. We were beyond disappointed when we arrived and realized that our favorite parts are no longer there. The kinky night club burlesque show, the coyote loco night club, the casino, foam beach parties...all gone, but still advertised. The nightlife is non-existent. Everything basically shuts down at 10/11pm. So in order to have something to do for one night we ended up paying $100 each ($300 per family) to go downtown to Coco Bongo (10/10 recommend). We spoke with a nice lady at the hotel about our disappointment and she said she has heard that from many guests and apologized. Suggested that we speak with Expedia since that is who we booked though and see if they could help. We sat on phone for over an hour waiting to speak with someone. I explained the situation and told them that the hotel even stated that their website had not yet updated the changes and those places were phased out beginning of the year. I asked that they at least comp us tickets to the Coco Bongo since that is not an expense that we had planned due to the night life that was previously experienced AND shown in pictures on site. That was denied. The hotel stated they are moving towards a family friendly atmosphere and it seems that there are a lot of time share pushes now. So if you are looking for nightlife/entertainment then I suggest looking elsewhere. Pool is great. Rooms are nice.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at; they don't prioritize guests, nor do they control the street vendors who enter—with the hotel's permission—to sell cigarettes and vapes. On top of that, those same vendors offer drugs and prostitution services. I was shocked, given that it’s a family hotel, to see such things allowed. I saw several young people buying from these vendors. I approached Raquel (at the \"Pyramid\" section) to let her know, and she told me it wasn't her problem and that I should take any report to the main lobby—*what*? I also saw young people offering escort services, and they weren't even wearing wristbands. I found a young man, heavily intoxicated, sprawled out in front of my room door; when I told the receptionist, she said, \"It's normal, we'll send someone,\" yet more than 30 minutes passed and the young man was still lying there on the floor.
The entire experience was terrible from the moment we arrived. Timeshare salespeople wouldn't leave us alone for over 30 minutes, even though I told them I wasn't interested in anything—that I just wanted to rest for the weekend and \"thanks, but no thanks.\" She kept at it until I finally got annoyed and asked her to please let us rest. In the lobby, we were given wristbands and told to use a link to book restaurant reservations, since you can't eat at any of the restaurants without one—except for the buffet, which serves the same food all the time.

Uno de los peores hoteles que pueda existir. El personal de servicio al cliente un horror y cobran por todo. La cómoda horrible y no hay variedad e incluso Perdimos una reservación en un restaurante y nos cobraron 1500 pesos de multa. Se supone que es un lugar familiar donde hay niños y en ese lugar nos ofrecieron de toda clase de drogas. No lo recomendaría nunca fue una de las peores experiencias

We were in tower one which is full of mold the smell of mold is empowering. The check-in staff was always in a bad mood. If you don’t have the black bracelet, you’re in your own we had a leaked of water in a room, but the only solution was to separate the family in different floors. They outside garden and the pool were beautiful. The waiters are very helpful and very nice if you plan only to stay for sleep, I guess it’s OK over the phone they promise that the family was gonna be together. Upon arrival it was according to availability. We pay for a room with two beds, but it’s also an availability so we just a king size bed they have seven restaurants, but they always close only they will fight is open late and it’s very basic. The Tex-Mex restaurants opens until 10 but the lady in charge starts closing at eight so she can clean and leave early. Just heads up the pool closes at eight. If you’d like to sleep early, tower one is very close to the DJ.

When we arrived the toilet did not flush, there was mountains of bird poop on the balcony, the sheets weren’t clean.
We were conned out of $186 for wine we did not ask for. The resort is not a true all inclusive.

I was told if I did not pay for the wine we did not ask for they would allow me to get on my transportation back to the airport.

One of our friends broke her arm, she slipped in the lobby of the hotel because the floors were so wet from people in & out.

I will never & I mean never stay at this resort.

En mi opinión es aceptable algunas cosas , pero en otras no, como por ejemplo, dicen que la comida es internacional , y en el desayuno y en el lunch era lo mismo , no tienen variedad , solo tienen las cosas por tenerla . La comida en algunos restaurantes en la que se tenía que hacer reservación es malísima ,.

El primer día de mi estancia allá me asignaron una habitación horrible , ni el aire acondicionado funcionaba , me cambiaron de cuarto si pero ese hotel está viejo y como que no le dan mantenimiento. Hubieron otros detalles pero ni modo ya pagué , ya fui y ya estoy de regreso .

Hotel is old and it has not been renovated in years. Rooms are also old and not renovated. bathrooms were also old and no water pressure. Food wasn't so good and the all inclusive drinks were cheap shelf alcohol and not premium drinks. All they served for drinks in the pool bars were simple drinks like margarita, vodka cranberry.. simple drinks. No expresso martini, dirty martini, Manhattan martinis. Nothing premium. If you wanted premium drinks you had to get it from the cocktail bar near the check in counter inside. and you had to pay for each of the drinks you order at the bar. Overall the all inclusive was terrible and the age of the hotel and rooms was poor. Not happy and will not return to this hotel.

Me and my buddy from college went for a week. Fun resort, but it depends a lot on the people you meet. You’ll have to bring the energy places you go. During the day is great, but what they don’t tell you is that they close everything down by 11pm latest, and some nights they shut down by 10:30. Also they took out the casino and night club so don’t expect to stay out until 2am partying. However, if you buy some drinks you can head down to the beach after everything else closes and that is pretty fun. Super bummed about the casino and night club not being there anymore, felt kind of lied to from this site about the “night life” still had a blast, but just be prepared to bring your own fun at night. Food was definitely below average, but good price for what you get. Hope this helps the other college fellas when making a decision.

I recently stayed at the Grand Oasis in Cancun, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff was unhelpful, disorganized, and at times outright rude. Basic requests were either ignored or met with attitude, and it often felt like guests were more of an inconvenience than a priority.

The condition of the rooms was equally disappointing. Our room was poorly maintained, with outdated furniture, noticeable wear and tear, and cleanliness that fell far below expectations. There were issues with basic amenities, and it was clear that proper upkeep is not a priority at this property. For a destination like Cancun, where there are so many excellent resorts available, this level of neglect is unacceptable.
Overall, I would not recommend the Grand Oasis to anyone. Between the poor service and subpar room conditions, it simply does not deliver the experience it promises. I will definitely not be returning, and I strongly encourage others to consider alternative hotels in Cancun.

I normally try to make the best out of vacations, but unfortunately our stay at Grand Oasis Cancun was a huge disappointment from start to finish.
We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and ran into issue after issue. Before arriving, we were told there would be transportation to and from the hotel, but once we got there we found out that wasn’t true at all.
We specifically requested a king-size bed, but were given a room with two full-size beds instead. After bringing it to their attention, they told us they would fix the mix-up, only to put us back into the exact same room with the same two beds.
To make things worse, our room had no power for the first half of the day after check-in. Staff already knew about the outage but failed to mention it beforehand.
There was also construction happening in the center of the main building, keeping a large section of the resort closed off for most of our stay. The gym was closed as well, which again was never mentioned during check-in.
Customer service was very hit or miss. One bartender at the swim-up bar actually slammed the tip jar in front of me after I asked for two shots, then completely ignored me when I tried ordering something else. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
The food was also disappointing. The buffet had very little selection and what was available honestly was not good at all.
We were also placed on the wrong side of the resort, making it inconvenient to get around. On top of that, the shower head in our room was broken

Room AC was not cooling. The operator and concierge staff were not helpful. Reported for 3 days by phone and in person. Each time they said someone would go check in 10 minutes and never showed. When we would call again, they would not answer or worse, pick up without saying anything and placed us on hold! On the 4th day at 5am, I was so upset I went to the lobby to look for someone. One man heard me, apologized and helped us move our things to a new room. Waiters and bartenders are awesome! If we return, it would be because of them. They deserve a raise! The operator and concierge need more training or different jobs.

For my first time in Mexico, this was a great introduction. The resort was beautiful and the pool/beach was outstanding. The employees were very helpful, friendly, and inviting. The food halls, restaurants and buffets were clean as well as the hotel room itself. However, for an all-inclusive resort, everything should all be included, all restaurants/areas, no matter what package or tier. I also had classic hotel hiccups such as the safe not working and the shower temperature being inconsistent… my only tip is to make sure all personal items are locked up extra tight!

Bathroom sink leaked the whole time even though we asked for it to be fixed several times. Th AC doesn’t get under 77. Numerous times we were turned away from dining even though they were open for 30-45 more minutes. The pools close before the sun even sets and you’re very limited to alcohol locations. The rooms were nice. The only thing I have to complain about is that a hat was stolen from inside my room by staff I’m guessing and it was never returned or refunded. Which is very upsetting because the amenities were nice. For my first time being in Cancun I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars, staff was some what rude if though I spoke the same language as them fluently, other than that. Descent location. Descent food. It’s a good place to stay . But forget about a cup of coffee in the morning . Un less you have a black band you can’t even pay for it. Most of the restaurants were decent. But the best place needed a reservation or black band . For get about room service and cleanliness. We were there 5 day and our room was clean twice and the floor were dirty.

Very unprofessional staff (I am not going to bore you with my story, but it was family reunion and my birthday, all I say, they ruined it for me). Rooms have roaches. food is awful. Very low quality alcohol. So many construcation sites all over the hotel. Don't spend your money there.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the pool and beach access.

El hotel está súper chulo, el ambiente es increíble y realmente vale la pena por el precio — es bastante económico para todo lo que ofrece. Disfruté muchísimo, la pasé demasiado bien y definitivamente volvería.

Lo único que diría es que la comida puede mejorar un poco, pero fuera de eso todo estuvo espectacular.

I would like to start by saying to be extra cautious with check in personnel they are scam artists.. they tried to charge me an additional $870.00 for my son that is 13 years old saying that he is considered an adault.. I called Expedia and the agent was really helpful stayed on the line until a manager came to the desk and everything was squared away.. was happy that agent also offered me another resort if oasis would not resolve the problem.. After everything manager apologized for the so called confusion from his employees..

On another note resort is ok just a lil too big pools are awesome food is what you make it can be good or bad.. rooms are ok only needed to sleep beds are comfortable..

The resort has its benefits for being cost efficient but in the end, we should have booked a nicer resort for the price we spent. The staff is good here and very accommodating though, and we did get a free upgrade due to loud noise/partying in a room next door to our original room.

Overall it was great just some things need some TLC . The showers draining was iffy . Had to stand in a puddle while showering . The refrigerator that was in the room did not work . Drinks were hot . Uber is not allowed to go in for pick up only drop off . WiFi is slow . The pillows were not washed smelled like sweat .

That was the worst all-inclusive resort experience in Cancun. The pyramid, with all the greens everywhere, looks very attractive, and the pictures on the site are even more so. However, the service is horrible (I am not picky and can tolerate many things). The staff is very rude and unhelpful. Trash is everywhere around the pool, and everything is dirty. The rooms are very old (and that's okay), but very dirty, and not everything works properly (one of the sinks was clogged the entire time we were there). Cleaning wasn't good at all, or they could skip days of cleaning. It was a challenge to change the beach towels (rarely had clean, dry towels in stock at the stations). Bars always struggle to offer simple, refreshing drinks (only mix of Sprite and syrups, not even mochitto). The ice cream station is usually out of ice cream. Buffets and restaurants worked in a very weird way, and not for everyone. The food was bad and not fresh except I guess only the omelet for breakfast.
And this is not all that I can describe. Oh, beach - the same, not clean and probably for the entire resort only 10 beds ( half broken )

The place was okay. The view is beautiful, big pool, multiple restaurants (but most are for other guest). The staff was the most disappointing part. When you are ordering food or drinks most of them look at you like “why is this person bothering me?” They are extremely slow with service, they just don’t care for the guest. Not all staff members were like this but out of all of them about 2-3 were kind and very helpful. Another annoying part is the moment you check-in right away they drag you to the membership conversation. We were tired from our flight, it was hot and we just wanted to eat and go enjoy the place but no first listen to how you can become a member even though no one asked. At this point, my family and I will not be returning to this hotel, it was also our first time in Cancun and it was not a good impression. We have been to Punta Cana to different resorts and hands down we loved it. If we do decide to become members somewhere it will probably be in Punta Cana.

The staff at the few restaurants that was opened were nice but the front desk guy that checked us in was horrible, rude , unkind and separated my family and i, we slept on differentfloorsafter he threatened to put us in separatebuildings. Refused to give me a baby crib for my baby. My bathroom was grimy and flooded, I couldn't take a proper shower as it was gross. My room have a strong chemical smell, like from a mosquito repellent. It made my baby so sick and I have to bring him to the hospital tomorrow. My experience was a sad one. I will never EVER go back there. Worst way I have spent thousands of dollars in my life.

The room was stocked full and often and upon request even though they said they couldn’t at one point. This place is kinda a dump. The staff are friendly and kind. I loved the made to order coffee espresso shop, the gelato. The buffets were literally the same everyday and if u like to walk, this is the place for you. Do be sure to make reservations at the restaurants included in your package. They are so much better than the Buffett. And that’s another thing, apparently we didn’t have access to all eating places which was stupid and I didn’t understand it because we choose the all inclusive package. Poolside food u have to wait for.. hamburgers , hotdogs, fries, nachos and chicken legs.. that’s literally it..Never saw the shows because they were in this weird plant filled atrium and no where to sit and watch, would have to stand. Our 6 story building had one broken elevator. The housekeeping staff did a great job with room. No poolside wait staff and we were not used to that. One swim up bar, always so crowded. The liquor is cheap at best and tastes icky. The pool seemed dirty most of the time. Not enough chairs and there’s definitely room for it so don’t understand that situation. Beach full of seaweed and not enough chairs, hardly any in fact. Nothing much to do. Suggestion, if u r going into town, walk to the front street and get the bus, it’s $1.50 and so much cheaper than a taxi.
Just nothing special or extraordinary that makes me want to ever come back .

Never did get to eat at either of the restaurants you needed reservations for even though we went on their app and trying to make reservations it did not work.
