I had always wanted to stay at Live Aqua but we usually stay at RIU Peninsula but I decided to reserve here for our vacation. Unfortunately we were very disappointed, food variety was so limited, snacks, coffee, alcohol were also limited or not available. Entertainment was also limited. 5/10

Live Aqua is one of my favorites resorts in Cancun. It was our 8th time there. That should say it all ! We love to see people like Oscar, David and Ruddy. Faces we recognize from all the visits ( and they recognized us too) . It’s like you’re family. If you can get a butler. Ruddy and his team go above and beyond for everything you need. We definitely will see you again.

The resort is very nice is you want to spend relaxing vacation wonderful service Exelente food this is the place, Chef Germain and his staff will surprise you with amazing dishes at all the restaurants. Usiel at the pool bar is always attentive and eager to please you, and the towel staff are very friendly as well. I especially want to mention Edouard, who made us feel at home. All the pools were very well maintained, never crowded. The barbecue chicken and rib at the pool were fantastic, the best experience ever.

The hotel served its purpose for sure. We really enjoyed the beach! But the room had dirty towels when we arrived, they forgot to clean it one day (they did come right away tho when I called to complain which was good), and all of the restaurants had 1+ hour waits and the food was not appealing at all. Breakfast was solid. A lot of people did seem to enjoy their time there, it was very busy and they all seemed happy! Most of the staff was great. But tbh I wouldn’t consider it 5 stars or luxurious.

My stay at the hotel was excellent from beginning to end. The customer service was outstanding, and the staff was always professional, attentive, and welcoming. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the room service exceeded my expectations.

Overall, everything at the hotel was exceptional. The activities organized for guests were enjoyable, well planned, and conducted professionally, which made the experience even more memorable.

I would definitely visit this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality stay. For me, everything was excellent.

The resort itself is very nice. Pools and property kept very clean, staff very attentive and the food, especially at the restaurants was excellent. I had an ocean front room in the center section; very nice. Had to be moved 2 times during a 4 night stay. Room was very humid but thought AC turned up. AC would not cool, stayed very humid. Thermostat was also broken. Female mgr saw it flash on/off on its own & temp changed! Had to move. Some rooms have an AC system that needs more coolant added or the coils may need cleaned. Sheets, loveseat, lamp shade over table and part of the floor had visible moisture you could see and feel. Fortunately concierge, Allen, was outstanding with helping me through the issues. Rooms 4009 and 5010 both. He also helped with getting maintenance to fix the shower handle in room 5010. Handle would not turn far enough to allow cold water to mix. Allen took pics and saw everything I mentioned first hand. I have no intention on 'trashing' the resort on social media in any way but the AC issue was really bad and the cleaning crew needs to be more educated on looking for these issues and reporting problems. If they are reporting issues, shame on management for not doing their job. Spending 1 night in room 4009 and 2 nights in room 5010 was quite over bearing and uncomfortable, AC issues. Draining the AC pan in room 5010 did not help. Had to move again. couldn't take it anymore with the humidity. Sheets very damp, floor wet! Again, not good!

The hotel was amazing. If you’re looking for a great solo trip that’s safe Live aqua is the place. Had some issues but the issues was fixed within mins. The pools were pretty cleaned and spacious. There’s three pools connected and one swim up bar. The food was 10/10. The rooms were 10/10. Mauricio Luna, richardo, and Patrica were amazing.. the service is amazing!! Definitely 9/10 stay

Way overpriced. Way over hyped. Premium room with VIP access cost us over $850 during the slow season. Are you kidding me? Absolutely, positively, beyond the shadow of a doubt: NOT WORTH IT.
Granularity:
The facility is new and clean, but not an $850 a night facility even in Nice, France let alone Cancun, Mexico.
The beach is nice, but the water was laden with sargasm (the latter part is not the hotel's fault. We experience the same thing with the other 2 hotels we stayed at) but visitors need to be aware of this. VIP or not you are expected to pay for the cabanas by the beach, even though they were all empty. Great way to make your customer reject you.
My wife and I are not foodies but here it goes; During our 3 day visit, we had meals at only 2 of about 7 restaurants. The man mess hall at the northern end of the building which serves breakfast lunch and dinner was nice the food was get quality but basic selection that you would get at any 3 star hotel. The other was a beachside cafe also at the northern side of the building and they had good ceviche, not excellent, just good. The food quality was medium to medium-low. The selection was mainly the type of selection you get a 3 star, not a 5 star facilityfacility. If you wanted the good parts you had to pay extra for it. Don't forget $850 a night for a hotel in Mexico.
Alcoholic beverages were generic and low quality. I have more to say but the system only allows me so many words.

This is my second stay at Live Aqua and I love it more each time! We are a younger couple in our mid 20’s and the resort has the perfect mix of a calm and social crowd. The food is incredible, staff is incredible and many of them have been there for 10+ years which says a lot about how its run. There are multiple pools depending on your vibe and the beach access is unmatched. Highly recommend

Given the resort’s higher price point, expectations for service were elevated but not consistently met. At check-in, our friends’ reserved room was unavailable, which was especially disappointing as we were celebrating a birthday. The correct room was important for comfort, and while the hotel offered cabanas and restaurant credit, it didn’t fully make up for the inconvenience. They were told they could switch rooms the next day.

Food quality was mixed. Room service and poolside dining were good, but the Thursday buffet fell short, with overly fatty, unappetizing tacos. Despite booking an all-inclusive package, certain items like steak at one restaurant and an entire steakhouse came with additional charges, which felt misleading. Dining policies were also inconsistent; although told reservations weren’t accepted, other guests clearly had them, and staff offered little help finding alternatives when restaurants were full, forcing us to dine off property.

The pool area was enjoyable with good service, but extra charges for items like coconut water led to confusion due to the room switch, requiring multiple staff interventions to resolve. Entertainment in the lobby lounge was a highlight, with a great DJ and bartenders.

Overall, the resort is clean, well-located, and staffed by friendly people, but service inconsistencies, unclear policies, and unexpected extra costs detract from the experience.

Beautiful ocean front room. Staff was for the most part helpful. Food at mb & siete7 was excellent, rest is acceptable.

Service varied depending on what part of the resort you’re at. One time we tried to get a seat at the buffet for Mexican Night, server said “no more seats but you can sit at the bar”. We sat at the bar and there were no utensils nor napkins nor staff servicing the bar. we walked around and noticed many empty tables that did not have “reserved” sign on it. Later , we noticed another East Asian couple also getting seated at the bar. When I asked staff walking around for forks later, he appeared surprised that we got seated at the bar and promptly moved us to an empty table. Once we got to the table, the server refills water for every table in his section except for ours. Not sure if it’s racism or what, but the young lady host had a very mean face when doing all of this as well moving East Asian guests to the bar when there were clearly seats available.

The timeshare presentation also ruined 1/2 of our stay. the high pressure sales made us anxious and lack sleep and filled with worry for the first 3 days of the stay and even caused some rift between us. Whatever they’re offering to listen to the presentation is not worth it and cut into your stay time. Had I known this nightmare Access Fiesta shenanigan would have wasted so much time and caused so much Anguish, I would have chosen a different resort.

First time to this resort, and we will be coming back. From the moment you walk in, to the food, the amazing staff, great beaches, it all was so amazing! The customer service was absolutely amazing, all of the restaurants were so good, rooms were clean and comfortable. Jonathan was one of our favorite servers by the pool, he went above and beyond for us. We already have plans to come back next year! We did splurge and get one of their suites that came with butler, ruddy and Romero were so good to us :)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel in Cancun, and I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt exceptional.
The room was absolutely fantastic—spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and with a truly spectacular view that made every moment feel special. The attention to detail was evident everywhere.
The food was another highlight. There was an incredible variety of options, all of them delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Every meal felt like a new experience.
What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the service. The staff consistently went above and beyond—always checking in to see if we needed anything, bringing food and drinks directly to us by the pool, and ensuring our comfort at all times. Our room was refreshed multiple times a day, with everything perfectly replenished without us ever needing to ask.
The level of care extended into the restaurants as well. The team was incredibly attentive, always asking about dietary needs. My mother has sensitivity to spicy food, and they kindly customized her meals every single day with genuine care and enthusiasm.
A special mention goes to Chef Antonio Hernandez, who made a lasting impression on us. He is not only a talented chef but also an incredibly kind and respectful person who truly cares about the guest experience.
This was more than just a hotel stay—it was a memorable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for outstanding service

Overall, the stay was good. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we had to wait, which made it feel like we lost part of our day. The service was a bit hit or miss—while the servers and housekeeping staff were great, the front desk team during check-in and check-out wasn’t very welcoming. What stood out most, though, was being told that if we had booked directly through the hotel instead of Expedia, we might have been accommodated sooner, which didn’t sit well with me. Then they proceeded to tell us if we paid an additional $350/night they had a room ready for us right then and there.

Food for Vegetarians is average. Nothing wows you. Even the basic italian stuff is not done correctly, the pizza is a disappointment considering how easy it can be. They really need to work on the quality of their desserts too. Its plain mediocre.
A fellow meat eater couple resonated with us as well.
Spa is decent.
Its a decent place if not paying high season rates

My husband and I stayed at the Live Aqua for a long weekend.The property is very well maintained and I adored the aroma therapy options in the room. When we were there the beach was very shallow but still so much fun. The pools were also great. There are lots of them so they never felt crowded. I recommend getting a cabana, the foot massages are A++. The spa was also so amazing, and a must do! The staff was wonderful and it was really sweet to have a Starbucks onsite. The only thing that we found tedious to navigate was finding all of the restaurants and knowing when they were open for lunch or dinner. We found some of the food to be hit or miss but I think that’s personal opinion. The smoothie bar at breakfast was also a favorite. All in all, we loved this resort and will definitely be back!

My spouse and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Live Aqua. The property is stunning, the staff was exceptionally attentive, and the food was delicious. The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools—such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine.

Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy—it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10–15 minutes from Cancun’s vibrant club zone. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The staff and amenities were not consistent with the advertisements or reviews. Upon arrival and throughout our stay we were asked to pay more for many items that should have been included. Additionally, their website does not make clear that you cannot make reservations at any restaurants and instead are required to either pay more for a butler to do it or wait in a ridiculously long line. If you’re looking for a true all inclusive resort with fabulous amenities this isn’t it.

Loved this hotel very much! The size of hotel and size of beach is just prefect. Restaurants offering is fantastic and easy to get table - loved the no reservation system - first come first serve. It would have been a perfect 5 star rating had the hotel staff not lied to me about maintaining the AC at 21C; anything lower is a pretense. Then they send maintenance to fix, requested twice and still no change; wish they just told me that they fixed the temperature and I’d have known and planned; didn’t sleep well at night as got very warm. Also, while they had a Vegetarian menu, they did not have any vegetarian beans (crazy) - all made with lard; was challenging at times to have this discussion constantly to know what I was getting and what it was fried in. Better effort needed for a vegetarian.

I give this a 6/10 for our stay. We did all inclusive in Jamaica last year and hands down better with no tipping allowed. The food wasn't the greatest and drinks weren't consistent unless you went to same bar tender. In room dining and pool food menus were wonderful. The grill in the middle for lunch don't miss it. Might be a 10 for some and just wouldn't go back to this location. Willing to try Cancun again but definitely a different all inclusive. The biggest let down is the restaurant that cost money and all the up charge menu items.

Everything was fantastic, there were some detailed items, like broken lock on sliding door in room and the knob on the bathroom door was broken, wear and tear on some furniture in room. Service was great! Food was delicious, lots of options, made to order food, minimal buffet food, quality goods! 5 pools all located by the beach. Many activities durning the day, always something to do, we enjoyed yoga daily and water aerobics! Very chill and relaxing vacation, highly recommend! And nooooo screaming kids!!! +++

This is the second time we’ve been to this resort and I couldn’t recommend it more. The food, staff, amenities, and overall property are great. Only tip would be to either book poolside cabanas in advance or commit to waking up really early to secure loungers by the pool as they fill up quickly.

Our stay at Live Aqua Cancun was fantastic. The pool layout is excellent, offering a perfect balance between a lively swim-up bar and designated quiet areas for relaxation. I cannot stress this enough: the resort is kept immaculately clean. The staff across the board were friendly, and the food was consistently wonderful.
For those considering an upgrade, we booked through the VIP Club, and the club staff and butlers were exceptional—they truly elevated the experience.
Areas for Improvement
While our trip was nearly perfect, there are two things to keep in mind:
Corporate Event Interference: Occasionally, the hotel hosts events for outside companies that can intrude on the guest experience. During our stay, a pool and the hot tub were closed to accommodate private parties. It would be better if these were hosted in areas that close earlier (like the swim-up bar at 6:00 PM) to avoid displacing guests from facilities that stay open until 7:00 PM.
Nightlife Scale: The onsite nightclub and bars are fun but significantly smaller than what you might find at other major resorts. This didn't negatively impact my trip, but it’s worth noting if high-energy dancing is a priority for your itinerary.
Beach cleanup fee: The hotel charges a 5 dollar clean up fee for the beach.
Overall Verdict: I highly recommend Live Aqua for its service and atmosphere. I would definitely return! Also make sure to go to MB for habanero soup.

I am a Expedia gold member which it says that if a room upgrade available I would get it for no cost. Well there was an upgrade available for about $140 a day. The first three days there they closed down the swim up bar at 3pm for private party even tho they did not use the pool.there was a perfect spot behind the swim up bar for private parties. We were also advised that the restaurant are first come. But when we arrived at a restaurant they advised a 90 min wait. Even tho they had numerous tables available and they advised by they were reserved. So that’s when we found out about butler service. So if you have a butler you can make reservations. Very nice perk if u have it. The food is absolutely amazing at all of the restaurants however at ever restaurant they have up charges for certain food items. I think if you pay for an all inclusive it should be all food. The food staff is absolutely amazing.

The resort location was perfect with a beautiful flat beach. The staff was amazing to all of the guests. I noticed everyone was hugging each other when they were saying they’re goodbyes! I did not have a bad meal in any of the restaurants. The daily yoga in the morning with Daniel was amazing. The young man who made the fresh smoothies in the buffet restaurant was the best! He went above and beyond to make sure I had the perfect juice or smoothie each morning. The entertainment staff was great. My only negative was the pool area looked like some of the tiles were coming off, but there were people there fixing them every morning. This did not take away from the beautiful pools at the resort though.
