Excellent food variety across all the restaurants! Great service! Magnificent layout of property with great views and access to all amenities including lagoon,ocean, pools, and water parks! Rooms were cleaned twice daily, with super friendly staff and a well stocked mini bar! Dial 0 for fast room service 24/7! My wife and I just love this resort! Spectacular live theater performances!!!!

Wonderful property and staff, kids enjoyed the kiddie pool a lot, food was excellent. Room service was amazing and housekeeping was also on point. Great for family!

Beach was not great for walking etc due to seaweed in June but all rooms are oceanfront which was a big plus. Our room was on level 9 so the view was pretty good. :)

We had been to Hilton cancun a few years back and this one felt slightly better overall EXCEPT hilton has a better beachfront area and cleaner/wider beach.(& donut shop by the pool.) ..but Mind you the hilton cancun beach is not as good as zona hotelera beach though.

My only wish was a dryer room for expediting drying of damp cloths but there is enough sunlight on most days. lol. and the shops had airport/resort pricing so was pointless to buy anything discretionary.

Okay to take tips in dollars imho definitely have an extra budget as most of the staff was really helpful, kind and sweet!

We stayed here with a family of eight, and while we made some great memories, I personally wouldn't recommend this resort.
Before our trip, I contacted the resort to see if they could do something special for my aunt and uncle's 21st wedding anniversary. They told me they would arrange something in room before arriving but nothing. Then to make it up during our dinner at the French restaurant, but nothing was ever done.
Making restaurant reservations was one of the biggest frustrations. We were initially told to use the app, but several staff members later admitted the app wasn't very reliable and suggested calling instead. Even then, it was extremely difficult to book reservations, especially for a group larger than two people. You're also limited to one restaurant reservation per day, which wasn't ideal for a longer stay.
We also attended the Legendary Club presentation after being told it would only take 90 minutes. It ended up lasting well over two hours. We understood it was a sales presentation, but after politely declining to purchase, the representative became noticeably rude, which left a bad impression.
On the positive side, the pool was fantastic and the kids absolutely loved it. The Bayside food by the pool was probably our favorite place to eat.The resort itself is beautiful, and there are plenty of activities available. Just be aware that several amenities, such as the arcade and bowling, cost extra, so they're not included.

Housekeeping was the best part of the trip, 5 out 5! We were a large party of 11 in 3 rooms, 6 of us got food poisoning, room service didn't deliver what was ordered from the menu including ignoring food allergies that were asked every time we placed an order or sat down in a restaurant. Complained at the front desk and was offered a free bottle of wine to make things better. When checking in we were not told that we needed to make reservations at the restaurants or our only options were room service or buffet. When we did make our reservations we could only get 9pm or later and with young children this was difficult and they often fell asleep at the table without eating. Was given room credits to use in the resort but they neglected to tell us you could only use them in certain locations and the credits only took 65% off the cost, we had to pay the other 35%. Just an overall bad experience for my husband and my first time in Cancun plus this was to celebrate his birthday, our wedding anniversary, and Father's Day all which took place during our stay.

The report was beautiful and the food was very good. Lots of option and while it’s big, it did not feel that busy.

The family pool was busy- but we went to another pool and it was much better and quieter!

Overall, service was good. But at times the bars seemed a little slow.

Spa was so beautiful! Gym was top notch! All in all a great vacation with my 13YO!

The music at the adult pool bar needs to be looked into. Need more up beat, Spanish music. Staff is great and very friendly, the food is probably the best I’ve had at any resort in Cancun and the resort is very clean! Beach is not useable and there is a strong stench coming from the ocean due to heavy Sargassum. Overall, I would stay here again!

There are a bunch of activities on the resort and so much staff engagement. The coffee, snacks, food! The room service menu is amazing as well. Honestly, there were only two restaurants that I liked, and they were both steakhouses. The best part for me was relaxing by the pool.

This resort was a great choice! Modern, stylish, clean, and great staff. 15 minutes from Cancun airport so you can’t beat that. Different building layout than the traditional resorts in Mexico. It’s one continuous building and requires a ton of walking. So have some comfy shoes ready!

Pools were great beach not usable at all. Lots of things under construction which was strange for a new resort during the prime month of June. Very sales oriented trying to get you to buy packages. Also to call yourself a luxury resort should have transportation from airport. Food was very mid at best. Not many entertainment options or shows had to leave property for that. My 12 year old hated it. He was very board with lack of activities.

My family and I had an amazing stay at AVA. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The resort was beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with plenty of activities and amenities for both adults and children.

The food was excellent, with a great variety of options, and the service throughout our stay exceeded our expectations. The pools, and entertainment made for a fun and relaxing vacation, and every member of my family had a wonderful time.

The Good: the property was very clean and laid out very nice. You didn’t have to walk far for anything. The restaurants were good too. All of them were good quality with great service. There were plenty of activities for the whole family and plenty of pool space. There are shuttle services and excursions you can do directly through the resort to limit third party usage. The rooms were nice with great views.
Side Note: it’s Cancun, so seaweed season is prevalent and can come at any time, which was the whole week.
The Bad: the resort salesman will try to get you to become a club member right after your check in. They will use words like “free” and “gonna give you this”. The trade off is you have to attend a special breakfast the next morning to obtain certain benefits with is basically a giant sales pitch. We declined this but were subsequently confronted by staff in the next two days and received calls to the room from supervisors asking why we didn’t want to spend a bunch of money and become a member. This annoyed me and I don’t like being annoyed on my vacation that I already spent a pretty penny for(it’s a 5 star resort)
Half of the pool area is no swimming due to being allocated for paddle boarding. We asked if we could get a paddle board but they said someone broke it weeks earlier. How does a billion dollar property not get ahold of a paddle board??

Love this hotel so much. Excellent location- a 10 minute drive from the airport, except the beach is not great at all.. so if you are looking for that, I would not book here, however, the hotel has excellent amenities. The pools are excellent (adults / family/ kids), there are a large variety of restaurants, the gelato shop, world-class nightly shows in a theater, kids club, arcade, spa, golf/baseball simulator, many stores.. you name it, they have supplied it. When we stay here, we don’t leave the property. It is meticulously decorated and designed.. really a 5 star hotel and experience.

The Kids Club was the highlight of our trip our children absolutely loved it and had so much fun every day. A special thank you to the entire Kids Club team for taking such great care of them.

The staff needs an customer service class. The ceiling in front of my door had a leak and was falling down you had to open your door and try to jump in to keep from getting wet. The staff didn't feel it was a big deal they wouldn't change my room and said they'll fix it. I was there for a week it was never fixed.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and the hotel has many strong points.
Pros:
The hotel is very large, beautiful, and well maintained. The grounds were always clean, and the rooms were cleaned several times a day, which was very pleasant.
We liked the variety of restaurants and the selection of food. Although not every dish suited our taste, the overall choice was truly extensive.
The pools deserve special praise. The water was clean, the pools were beautiful, and the depth was very comfortable for both adults and children. Our kids absolutely loved the children’s pool and the water slides.
We also enjoyed the saltwater pool, which is filled directly with water from the ocean. This is a unique and very interesting feature of the hotel.
We would also like to highlight the children’s playground. The kids spent a lot of time there and were very happy, while the parents could relax nearby.
Cons:
We would have liked to see more variety in the food and a more service system at the buffet. For example, for cheese, certain vegetables, and some other items, guests need to ask the staff for assistance, which is not always convenient.
We also felt that the hotel lacked evening entertainment. After dinner, the choice of activities is quite limited, so evenings can feel a bit boring. It would be great to add more evening shows, live music, or other entertainment programs for guests.
Overall, this is a very good family hotel with beautiful grounds, excellent pools, and friendly service.

My family and I had an amazing time at this resort, celebrating my son’s 18th birthday with our family. The experience was truly like no other — from the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding, and every staff member made us feel welcomed and taken care of.

The food options were honestly some of the best we’ve had, even after visiting Cancun multiple times. There was so much variety, and every meal exceeded our expectations.

This trip created memories our family will never forget, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for exceptional service, incredible food, and an unforgettable vacation experience! We had such a great stay at this resort! Alberto, our concierge, was absolutely exceptional — always attentive, friendly, and quick to help with anything we needed, especially with our restaurant booking changes and other requests. He really helped make our trip stress-free and enjoyable.

The kids club was also amazing. Everything was well planned, and all of the staff were so patient, kind, and professional with the children. Our child had a wonderful time there.

The resort itself was beautiful, very clean, and well maintained throughout our stay.

This was my 5th time in Cancun, and this has been one of my favorite places to stay.
I loved everything about the resort, My granddaughters had a blast because it has a pool side for small children. For those adults traveling alone , no problem, they have pools and restaurants for adults only. Highly recommend this resort and Expedia to book it. I was able to find a better deal !

I was disappointed with the check-in process. We arrived around 12:30 p.m., understanding that check-in is at 3:00 p.m., but after paying for incidentals, we were told a personal assistant would contact us with our room assignment—which never happened. I followed up twice and was given inaccurate wait times before ultimately having to find another staff member at 3:00 p.m. to complete check-in.
Additionally, before receiving our room, we were directed to someone who claimed they would explain the resort amenities, but it turned into a high-pressure attempt to get us to attend a 90-minute sales presentation for vacation packages. This was very off-putting and not something I expect while on vacation. Although Ava is a newer resort, I noticed more wear and tear than expected. The pool was the highlight, but the food and service across the restaurants were mediocre. The one standout was housekeeping—our room was cleaned daily and very well maintained.

The salt water and fresh water pools were always clean, the poolside was very clean, and the complimentary day beds were a great experience. The beach could use some cleanup, but the sargassum barriers kept all the seaweed off the beach.
Rooms were nicely equipped, ocean facing, and cleaned twice daily! Fully stocked fridge, snacks, and daily towel replacement was really appreciated.
The Ava kids club was probably the nicest kids club we’ve experienced. So may cool activities for the kids, the staff were wonderful, and always ensured the safety of our children. Our kids kept begging to go back every day.
The theater/live shows were a nice addition to the amenities. It was nice to have indoor shows, out of the heat and sun. The Magic Show was insane. More of a mentalist/illusionist but the performance was mind blowing.
The drinks throughout the resort were excellent. This was the first resort we’ve been to (out of probably 5-6 resorts) where the drinks actually contained alcohol. They were mixed well and delicious. The taco stand was awesome too. We stopped there probably 2-3 times a day.
Lastly, a big thank you to ALBERTO with the CONCIERGE group. Alberto was assigned as our personal concierge for the week. He assisted with reservation changes for the restaurants, confirming our shuttle pick-up, provided us with and daily schedules of activities. Thank you Alberto

Their restaurant reservation system is continually offline, so you can not get in to eat at any of the nice restaurants they advertise. The staff is useless in helping, they just say to keep trying using the on line system which did not work all week. After about 3 days of the same food in the buffet/ cafeteria, I was done. The property is very nice, although their beach access is backwater and smells. I was disappointed and will chose a different resort next time. Carolina at the front desk was the lone shining light as she did try and succeed in getting us a restaurant reservation. Our assigned “personal resort assistant” never was any help and did not return messages.

We had a wonderful stay at AVA Resort Cancun. We arrived a few days early to enjoy the resort as a family before a company convention, and both experiences were amazing.

The rooms were incredibly comfortable and made it easy to relax and recharge. Room service was excellent—fast, reliable, and consistently delicious. The pool was a standout feature: the temperature was perfect, and there were so many fun activities throughout the day. Our family especially loved the floating obstacle course—it was such a fun and unique experience. We also enjoyed kayaking and spending time together at the F1 simulator and arcade, which our son absolutely loved.

I especially want to highlight the Ava Kids Club, as they truly made our experience so much easier. Our 6-year-old is naturally shy and usually hesitant in new environments, but the staff made him feel so welcome that he wanted to go back every single day. They were incredibly attentive and engaging, and we really appreciated how safe and secure the facility is. It gave us complete peace of mind to enjoy time as a couple and attend company events child-free. Honestly, we would come back to this resort for this reason alone.

A special thank you to Andrea, Ivon, Grecia, Anne, Rebe, Yadi, and Laura—you all work so hard and are amazing with the kids. Thank you for making our son feel comfortable and safe.

If I had one small criticism, it would be that there isn’t much of a beach, but the pool made up for it.

I really enjoyed my stay at AVA Cancun. The resort is beautiful, modern, and has a lot to offer with great amenities, good food, and a fun atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and overall it was a great experience. One thing to keep in mind is that the resort is very large, so be prepared to do a lot of walking to get around. If you don’t mind that, it’s definitely a great place to stay.
