This hotel/condos is a scam. The pictures are not of what you are going to get. Everything is very old and broken. It's not 3 star property by any means. I read other reviews complaining about noise from the near by club, to us it wasnt a big issue. However the room door doesn't close unless you slam it. So don't plan on going to sleep before any of your neighbors get home. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at!

My wife and I in 204A oceanfront and adult kids in 204B.. Great beach location, close to restaurants, bars and an excellent grocery store. Had enough kitchen items to make some meals in but more of a minimalist kitchen. Perfect ocean veiws that we enjoyed every day. Close enough to hear the bass of beach bar music during the day but it always seem to shut down by 10-11 if not earlier and we go to bed later so not ab issue. The beds were horrible... rock hard but somehow also did not properly support your body. In 50+ years I never had a toilet seat that could hurt you but the seats here were so flimsy that they managed to flex and pinch your legs or butt of all of us at some point. Even with those bad points we overall enjoyed our stay but the beds and toilet seat would have to be fixed for me to return there.

Everything was good except, property was old, wash basin faucet and flush did not work normally, utensils provided were inadequate and the cooktop took a lot of time to heat and not meant for all dishes. Also, the air conditioner started malfunctioning in day 2, which was rectified.

The studio room was bigger than I expected and the views of the Caribbean Sea were amazing. We could watch the sunrise from the bed. We were so close to the sea that we could hear the waves when the balcony doors were open. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were lumpy. The bathroom was functional but very small. The kitchenette was convenient. The hotel wi-fi was very bad, we could not rely on it at all. The neighboring Coco Bongo can be very noisy at times. Definitely recommend it for the convenience and location though.

If you are on budget it is okay but be prepared to a very old facility built in the 60's and not renovated. Appliances are from the same time period and often fail to work. It is very conveniently located and the pool is cozy and clean. Communication with the hotel is impossible. Tried calling for days without an answer. Same calling reception. Just being fair... I love Cancun!

I booked 2 ocean view rooms only got one. Staff couldn’t have cared less. Marnie the go between Expedia and the hotel was useless she said I could cancel the booking thru Expedia nice to put me in a position where I would have to find another hotel at 4pm with 7 in our party. Expedias agents 4 in total left me high and dry with no conclusion very disappointing after spending thousands of dollars with them thru the years

This property is situated right on the beach. Which I thought would be nice. However, the excessive noise from the nightclubs in the area are a problem. The building itself is very dirty. The room that we got had a refrigerator that was not working. The room service was poor. The room is supposed to be cleaned every other day between 10 AM and 4 PM. My room is not cleaned until almost 6 PM after I complained. They cleaning of my room was so quickly they did not really clean much other than change my sheets. Also, the staff was not very friendly. I would not recommend this property for anyone to go. I will never stay there even if it was for free.

Having a lot of family in Cancun/ Chetumal area we travel with them all the time and I was there for one night. The floors were very dirty, there were two used/stained towels when we arrived, that we didn’t care for put them to the side and during check out I was charged $100 Mexican pesos for the towel. There was also a lot of grime on the tub in the bathroom. You get what you pay for, but cleaning could have been better. The girl during checkout was not friendly, everything was fine and I wanted to come back but terrible experience checking out starting with the front desk employee that I will not recommend.

This time I was very disappointed with room... They put us in an old dated room with random dishes and utensils Overall in very poor condition compared to other units.

My room had roaches. They didn’t clean on the days they said they would. Bathroom was not clean when we checked in. Shampoo from previous occupant and it smelled like urine. Not enough toilet paper. No blankets. I kept getting electrocuted on the stove top.

Very walkable to most everything, but people wanting you to look at their shops are ridiculously overwhelming.

We liked that it was close to shopping , the market to buy groceries, and also the bus stop is right in front of the property. It's not a resort so if you looking for a fancy resort this is not the place. This place is worth the money. Staff is very respectful and helpful. Gall ways are quiet and all guest know to respect and have coutecy for others. Very nice and affordable.

Great for a family vacation!

A great condo hotel with a fantastic beach view. Secure private parking. Right on the Cancun beach, no need to walk far. Full kitchenette, so was perfect for our family vacation. About 10 minutes walk to a big grocery store. Will definitely rent again.

Very great location!!!! Easy access to beach, the strip, restaurants, club ect! The pool was very enjoyable along with the drink at their restaurant. Staff and cleaning crew were very attentive and professional. The appliances in condo are very backdated which made it hard to cook. Would definitely book again!

Don’t get your hopes up!

The view was awesome from our balcony on the beachfront. No access to the beach. The pool was dirty, and not very WOW. The restaurant (not sure I could call it a restaurant) I seen one day a family eating inside other than that nothing. The bar, umm yea definitely not a bar and never seen a single soul sitting at it. The location is good, the view if you have ocean front, was pretty clean inside, rate was good, I would never stay here again though.

The room was nice with a small kitchen area and some cooking equipment.. the maid came every other day.. the beach was not clean once the entire, 10 days I was there, the beach was technically closed but many people were on the beach every day, swimming.. the seaweed some days was out of control making the water black.. seaweed on the beach piles up and turn black after a few days, it attracts flies and stinks which I could smell on the balcony some days.. if you were to swim in front of the condo you have to walk through 25 feet of rotting seaweed.. there is a area now toward the hyatt (near the rocks) that the water is still and no much seaweed on the beach they clean it. there is also a area close to the condo the city cleans every day. I included pics of the water. Some days the seaweed was very bad as you can see other days the water was blue and clear but the rotting seaweed on the beach was always there and never cleaned

Too much noise pollution, moved out early

We had to move out of our apartment after a minimum 2 night stay because the building is right by a loud beach club which plays music 24/7.

On our first night the music went on all night and made the glass on our balcony doors vibrate. We had earplugs and still couldn't sleep. Then there was music during the afternoon as well and we couldn't take a nap. I ended up getting sick during my vacation partially due to the loss of sleep and peace.

Overall, this venue looks like it's a good deal online, but the rooms can be varied (we tried to move to a room higher upstairs but the quality was poor) and you'll need to consider noise as a factor, which we wish we knew about before booking it ourselves.

The people at the front desk are really nice and speak passable English.

The AC unit in my room was only either on or off, with no temperature adjustment. So, it got really cold at night.

It also took a LONG time for the shower water to get hot (> 5 minutes). My room had a fridge which was great for storing potable water.

There is a large supermarket a few minutes' walk away. Buy the big water jug there and store it in the fridge to have plenty of water available.

The WiFi is very slow for the free version. If you want to watch any videos, you need to pay extra.

There are not any safes in the rooms.

The staff was not very welcoming. When we got to the room it was hot. We tried adjusting the temp and couldnt do it. We complained about it, but nothing was done until it finally broke down on our last night. Then we were moved to another room and right outside the restroom window there was a camera pointed straight into the restroom. I would not recommend it.

Everything about this Hotel is a lie! They posted pictures of a suite that looked very nice and it was all false advertising. Once we broght this up to Expedia they offered us beer and an upgraded room. We were trapped at this hotel because every other hotel was sold out. I was traveling with my wife and 3 kids and couldn’t believe we got taken advantage of like this. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Now we all are covered in bites all over our bodies, the kids moreso than my wife and I. Don’t fall for these fake pictures!

BUGS EVERYWHERE!!! RUDE STAFF... rooms smell really bad... a/c didnt work... I booked the ocean view suit with 4 double beds instead I got 2 different rooms with lake view, the staff was very rude and disrespectful... the rooms were in bad conditions, there were cockroaches and ants inside the fridge, restroom and on the beds... there was more people complaining about the same problem and the staff told us that there was only one maid for all the rooms and she couldnt clean all of our rooms... they told us to clean it ourselves... IF YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR VACATIONS BOOK THIS HOTEL...

Hotel is ON the beach! A big plus but...

The hotel was on the beach. That was beautiful. The water in the bathroom sinks didn't drain and barely had pressure, making the bathroom gross to use. When we arrived the water was running in both the kitchen and the bathroom shower, making us think someone was taking a shower in there. I don't know how long it had been running like that. The door to the Suite, didn't lock when we first got there. A drunk man came in our room in the middle of the night. The hotel was able to bore out the hole for the lock to make it more secure. We were ok after that. We weren't given wash cloths in our room and I couldn't wait to go home and wash my face. It would have been nice to have a broom or swiffer, because the floors are a beautiful tile, but get dirty from the beach easily and then you have to have sand on your feet until they clean again which is only every other day. The staff was friendly. I didn't feel safe in cancun. I had my money and phone and jewelry stolen. I am glad to be home. The partying next door is every night until at least 2 am. but we got used to it and was mostly able to sleep through it.

It’s all about location

This is the perfect spot for anyone trying to forget Where they come from. The ocean view is absolutely amazing and all the clubs and activities are literally right accross the street.

This is a simple place that provides the bare minimum, which is actually JUST enough to get this place a good 3.7/5 from me.

Pros: Location, views, and very safe location
Cons: Could use some renovation and a couple more irons.....make sure you bring a travel iron.

The hotel was decent, nothing fancy . My biggest complaint is they did not like to change the towels or wash the dishes . Your paying $190 a night offer that service. At a $50 motel in USA they offer that service lol.... Your at the beach , pool and showering . The towels need to be cleaned /changed every day . The maids were really petite about changing towels . Plus once we arrived the beds had sand in them . Our ankles were getting bit up with bed bugs or sand fleas after asking for two days to change the sheets they finally changed them. Cancun itself will penny pinch you to death. Also, my daughter whipped makeup on one of the towels they wanted to charge us for that towel and they said it depend on how much the makeup damaged the towel. We argued about the charge and said that can be removed with bleach , soap and water ...at the end they did not charge us for the 1 towel that had make up ... beware of all the penny pinching or gouging for money .

This place is a dive.

Booked a two bedroom \"suite\" with kitchen and 2 bathrooms for 2 adults and 3 kids. The place had a 3.5 star review and was right on the beach so thought it couldn't be that bad. Arrived at midnight and the whole property was extremely dark getting into the building. Property surrounded with iron fencing and multiple security guards posted. Front desk couldn't find any evidence of our reservation and never cracked a smile. Finally got to our room and main door looked like it had been busted in at some point and never really fixed to lock securely. Two rooms were across the hallway from each other. Both doors were flimsy and the locks were a joke. Sliding doors wouldn't lock at all in either room. The air conditioner in kids room had a constant drip with a huge puddle on the floor. The master bathroom was disgusting with a window in the shower facing civilization and no curtain or shade. Music was blaring from clubs right next door and across street. We didn't even stay one night and ended up on the street with our luggage and 3 kids in tow trying to find a habitable place to stay at 1am in the morning. Whoever runs this place has bare minimum care for the building or the security and comfort of their guests. In short, this place is a dive. Still have not received a refund from Expedia 3 weeks later even though we were told it would only take 3 days. Horrible experience overall so we definitely wouldn't recommend Salvia to anyone.

Rain caused my room to flood.

No fridge! Terrible in a 100 degrees weather you want something cold! The only good thing it's the location, that's it! Good only for sleeping purposes. You will always be wearing a wrist band since day one until you leave, Do not eat at the little restaurant by the pool, expensive and the food is disgusting. Everything its very basic, definitely can get a better place for the same money, i will not go back here and will not recommend this place.

I met my College age son at this hotel for spring break. The expected loud music all night from next door was not that bad. The rooms were clean and had all the necessities for comfort. The hotel is strict about security and the staff does a great job keeping everything in order. I was pleasantly surprised.

The awesome thing about this condo is the bed setup right in front of the terrace and the beach/Caribbean view. I've been to Cancun many times and this is the first time I was required to read and sign a set of \"rules\" (regarding noise, partying and doing damage to the condo), not a happy welcome as I'm used to in Cancun, but I was glad they provided strict regulations in regard to noise and partying, as that wasn't why I was there. The hotel is right next to the clubs and party central of Cancun, so I guess they are used to getting the kind guests that need these rules! The condo itself was ok, comfortable but well worn. I prefer a fan over air conditioning and the fan was broken. Good location for being close to shopping, restaurants, and nighttime entertainment.

Check-in was quick and efficient. The room I had was a studio. It has 2 beds, a 4 person table, a small couch, a small kitchenette with appliances and a refrigerator. The bathroom was somewhat small. The bedding and furnishings were a bit dated (think 80s). The location was great for beach, day life and night life. Overall, this property offered a decent value for the price paid. However, if you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. Also, maids only service the rooms once every other day.

Nice hotel in a great area and close to the beach

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and the cleaning service was excellent. The location could not have been better. We were only a few minutes walk from great restaurants and the super market. There was great entertainment for adults (clubs and bars), but was also relatively friendly for kids. The beach was very well taken care of, it was one of the cleanest and most enjoyable beaches we have ever been to.

Honestly for my first time in Mexico this hotel was a perfect spot. It's literally right on the beach, it's in walking distance to all of the clubs you would want to go to. It's cute, almost cottage like. The view was amazing to wake up to everyday. The security was strict with letting people in the hotel, if you didn't have a wrist band signifying that you were actually staying there, i dont think you were allowed to get in after a certain time of night. It was very quiet, the staff was nice. There's an outdoor pool next to the snack shack. Very nice hotel, reasonably priced for where it was located in the tourist district. Very affordable for a spring break trip if you can't afford an all inclusive hotel.

Nice to be @ the beach and in the middle of party.

Great service, very helpful, polite people everywhere, reception area, cleaning people, gate entrance, parking lot. Clean hotel, reception person helped right away when I mentioned that some \"next door grown up neighbors\" were being too loud and running around the hallways. They were right on the spot. It is maybe in a very loud area at night though for older people or for people who doesn't want to be in the middle of right where the party is. For us, it was GREAT!!! We have a 12, 13 and 16 years old. There is a place to do your laundry right around the corner and an amazing SUPER MARKET at about two blocks with EVERYTHING plus great prices and a great international food court. 100% HAPPY, THANK YOU SALVIA..... Don't stay unless you party all night

The view of the ocean was spectacular from the 8th floor. The music from neighboring nightclubs went on into the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes it was hard to fall asleep. The front desk was accommodating, but not so friendly. Overall, it was adaquate, but would not choose that location again.

Poor Experience

Where to begin? First, Salvia overbooked us so two weeks prior to our trip we were frantically trying to figure out what to do. The only option was a 4 person room for 6 people, no sleeper sofa, cot, etc. Given the fact it was NYE week, other hotels were booked. Once we arrived to Salvia, we were disappointed. The place looks pretty run down in comparison and the room was small. They would only gives us 4 towels for our 6 guests. Seriously, can't accommodate towels?! Then wanted to charge us wifi, we finally received 1 wi fi code. I will say that the location to the beach was nice and the pool bartender was fun although the bar wasn't stocked. Most bottles were empty. This stay left a very negative opinion of Cancun for me and my friends. Luckily on the second half of our trip, we stayed elsewhere and had a nice time. My final comments, this place was not for us. However, it may be good for spring breakers because it is close to all the shops and clubs.

disappointing stay

first up - this is not a hotel it's a condominium, the bathroom area is small and cramped, the beds are uncomfortable and you pay for everything. My worst experience is the internet - WiFi is 10US for two days for one device so you basically have to pay for your entire stay. Apart from that WiFi is only available in the lobby and the reception is very poor - it keeps dropping and you can only open one tab at a time.

Great Location & Reasonable Priced

Great location, very comfortable & reasonable priced. Walking distance(a block or three) from several restaurants, bars, clubs & grocery store. The pool was very clean & the semi private beach wasn't too crowded. Of all the beaches we seen this one was the cleanest, no seaweed problem that was affecting the rest of the Yucatan Beaches. The $50US deposit had to be in cash & was returned in full at check out. The rooms were set up as condominiums/time share units so it is perfect for extended stay.

Affordable condo with great ocean and lagoon views

Good location but a couple of hidden costs we weren't expecting. No internet available unless you pay $10 per day per device! Also, we had to pay for our security box. Maid service comes every 2 days. Kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave. Great access on the beach. If you like to party, it's next to the Coco Bongo, where the loud music as well as other bars and discos in the direct vicinity will keep you up ALL night!!! (Ugh!)

Salvia Cancun, BEWARE!!!

This place was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! It is a run down condo complex. There were ants everywhere!!!! The bathroom was nasty!!!! The air conditioner worked fair, after 15 hours or so finally had the room t a bearable temperature!! We left this place after the first night, even though we had already paid for 2 nights. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

No frills hotel, but right by the night life

Check in was simple, but there is a 50$ deposit which you get back as long as no damage was done. The hotel staff was friendly but had a hard time understanding me. I wish the breakfast was free but it was good the only time we had it. The hotel was on the beach which was awesome. Overall my experience of the hotel was good

The Salvia was a great choice for a spring break hotel for me and my 3 friends. The beach was beautiful. Salvia was located right in the heart of all the action. We aren't huge partiers, but the one night we went out it was very convienent to get back. There was a grocery store close by so we made all our meals instead spending hundreds more on an all inclusive hotel. The staff was lovely. The language barrier could be tough with some of the workers, but for the most part we could get everything we needed. One of the nights was loud pretty late because of a beach party, but get ocean side and it should be fine. I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun and also relaxing vacation.

The locations is awesome. However, you have to pay 10 dollars for the Internet daily for only one device and the Internet isn't speed enough. The reason why I booked this place is that I couldn't find a vacant room in Krystal Cancun Hotel.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Having read other reviews before staying here I feel like we were reading about a completely different hotel! It's a brilliant location - you can't get any closer to the beach and it's next to all the main bars/clubs/shops/restaurants. Would highly recommend an ocean view apartment as the view is incredible and the noise of the clubs is less intrusive. Our condo was modern and clean (fully serviced with fresh towels every second day). Wifi isn't included but it's around 3000 pesos (£15) for a week which isn't too bad.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, and the tour company attached to the hotel helped us arrange a trip to Chichen Itza for a really good price. It's very secure with security guards outside 24/7 and we felt safe throughout our stay. There's a great pool bar which serves good breakfast, and less than 5 minutes walk away there's the Natura restaurant which serves amazing breakfasts and dinners!

One of our only drawbacks was the PR staff for the clubs who stand right outside the gate of the hotel and were constantly asking us to buy tickets/have our photo taken. The hotel probably can't control that and otherwise I can't speak highly enough of the hotel itself!

Impossible to sleep, and not at all as advertised.

We reserved and paid in advance for an ocean-facing \"suite\" for six adults and one child, with multiple rooms and at least four beds for up to 8 adults, with a full kitchen. What we got was two small hotel rooms, one facing the ocean with just one queen bed, a dining room table for four, a small kitchen with a refrigerator and dishes and utensils, but only a hot plate (no oven) and a few pieces of cheap furniture for the balcony, and a small bathroom with a tiny shower. The second room, much smaller, was actually across the hall on the other side of the building. It had two double beds close to each other and a balcony with a few cheap plastic chairs facing the parking lot and busy street below and another tiny bathroom with stand-up shower. The two rooms were at the end of the building and could be closed off to the hall through a common door. This end of the building is nearest the noisy party-scene restaurants like Coco Bongo. No one could sleep as the \"music\" coming from that complex just meters away from us was LOUD all through the night. We put our child on the floor on top of some cheap mats taken from the balcony chairs and squeezed our six adults into the three beds in our \"suite.\" The whole building and the unit all need a complete makeover. The kitchen utensils smelled bad. The beach was nice, but there were no hotel chairs on the beach.
