I stayed in rooms 523 and 528.
The rooms are very old and smell strongly of mildew.
The bathrooms had mold, the sheets were very dirty, and housekeeping didn't clean. They tried to charge an extra $160 when the fee for the daybeds was supposed to be $100. They charged me for \"Preferred Club\" status without explaining that there are extra charges for everything you want. The building is very old, the pools were filthy, there was little variety in the food, and the beach was disgusting—full of sargassum and foul-smelling. I am truly disappointed with this resort.
Initially, I was supposed to pay $1,200 for two nights; I was told the rooms wouldn't have windows, but if I paid an extra $450, I could get a room with a window. I have never been so disappointed by a hotel as I was by Dreams Sands. The waiters were unfriendly, paying more attention to foreign guests.

This was our third time at this hotel.
The service is very nice. Our first room was a complete disaster. No towels, no TV, no phone, and most importantly, no air conditioning. After two days of complaining about the heat at night, they finally offered us another room... smaller, of course. But the air conditioning did work.
The food isn't the best, with little variety for children. Just hot dogs, quesadillas, and mac and cheese. There are few evening activities. The beach towel service was awful (we waited over an hour for towels). I regret that this will be our last time at this hotel (all because of this bad experience, as the location is excellent).

Original room had mold on the ceiling . It took fighting the front to actually change my room. Staff is not friendly and clearly they are there just to work and go home. No to make your experience any better or nice at all. Food was one of the worst I’ve had in all the resorts I’ve stayed at in Cancun.

The overall property is good. Unfortunate timing had a lot of seaweed on the beach (obviously uncomfortable by the hotel) but did dampen the trip. Upgraded to a room with a balcony that I didn’t use and also joined the preferred club for my trip. Also didn’t use. The staff is very accommodating for all needs. The pools were clean. Alcohol could’ve been stronger when ordering cocktails. The culinary specific restaurants were good. The buffet was okay. The Hyatt company that owns the resort will advertise a membership program that allows premium usage to their other resorts (basically a timeshare just a bit different) with an incentive of $300 of “leisure cash” to be used on certain things after the sales pitch. Unfortunately, single men do not qualify for this reward and was not made known to me prior to attending the sales pitch. I was offered nothing in return for abusing my time because I didn’t qualify for the reward. For my first all inclusive resort, I was disappointed but I do believe this is a decent place to stay. I wouldn’t stay here again though.

This property was fantastic and is perfectly located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff was outstanding—especially Carmen at the concierge desk, who provided excellent service throughout our stay.

The only minor issue was the air conditioning in our room, which was a bit difficult to adjust. Other than that, our experience was excellent. I would definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it to others visiting Cancun.

We had such an amazing stay at Dreams Sands Cancun! The resort was beautiful, clean, and in the perfect location with gorgeous beach views. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip special — everyone was so friendly and helpful the entire time.

The food, drinks, entertainment, and atmosphere were all wonderful, and our group made so many fun memories here. We truly felt relaxed, welcomed, and taken care of from the moment we arrived.

We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing Cancun vacation!

Mi estancia en este hotel fue muy buena si estás buscando un ambiente familiar y tranquilo este es el lugar a pesar de que hay muchos niños. Los empleados son muy atentos y siempre a la disposición. Lourdes fue la encargada de mantener mis sábanas y toallas limpias y la verdad que no tuve quejas de ella, estuvo siempre al pendiente. La comida fue estupenda y variada sobre todo habían platillos exquisitos en Portofino, fue mi restaurant favorito. Les recomiendo pagar el prefer pues tienes acceso a otras áreas del hotel como piscina privada y parte de la playa privada que nunca entendí esa parte porque se supone que es all inclusive. La comida estuvo bien pero pienso que pueden mejorar aún más, hacen actividades en el área de la piscina tanto de día como de noche. Me hubiera gustado que pusieran más música en las noches pues luego de las 10 pm se torna aburrido. Por mi parte no estuve muchos días en el hotel pues me pasé la mayoría de excursiones desde la mañana hasta la tarde. Recibí igualmente un masaje relajante con hidromasaje eso fue espectacular, Estrella se lució.

We really enjoyed everything, and everything was at the highest level. The staff were very kind, friendly, and attentive. The hotel itself is truly at a high standard, and I can confidently recommend it.

The only thing we did not like was the Mexican restaurant near the main entrance. I would suggest considering replacing it with an entertainment center for children under 3 years old, because you already have an area for children from 3 to 12 years old, but there is nothing for younger children. I believe this would be much more useful for families with small children.

Unfortunately, this restaurant disappointed us a lot. The food was not good, and the overall experience was very poor. We were disappointed to the point that we even considered leaving early. Fortunately, later we tried other restaurants, experienced a completely different level of food and service, decided to stay, and in the end we were very satisfied with our overall vacation experience.

Invasive sales, they jump you trying to sell you packages every 10 minutes, even when you say no they keep trying making you feel pressed, the restaurants are max 10-20 tables and theres approximately 1000 suites, so you cant even find a table, even though its an “all inclusive” and we should all enjoy the same benefits equally and they strictly say “no reservations allowed” if you offer them extra money they even close full restaurants for you, we tried to visit the argentina restaurant and they literally said even though we dont do reservations they bought bottles for a party, so basically even though we dont make reservations if you pay us the right price we make reservations, my mini fridge was not working, the plumbing system sucks, doesnt matter if you hit full cold water or full hot water, it will anyways swift from burning hot to ice cold every second, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We have stayed at Dream Sands several times now and it has come ong way. They have done some room remodeling & fixed the leaky hard to close sink faucets.
The staff is always friendly. The pools are overcrowded most the time. The bars are quick on getting you a drink.

The calm beach was the best part. The master bedroom wasn’t all that great - it’s very generic for a masters. I think the food was decent!
My least favorite part is not having a balcony- in Cancun you should always be able to go out to see a sunset or sunrise in your balcony or to simply hear the waves.

If you get a very cheap deal go, if you do not skip! Best way to describe it. I was here 2 years ago in May was much better than this time. Beach is completely gone almost, the few chairs (if you wake up very early and are lucky to grab) they do have you can touch the person next to you how jammed close they are. Definitely not relaxing. Rented a cabana one day thinking that might be better, even worse. One elevator worked for entire trip (for entire resort) so be ready to walk stairs if you don't want to wait 15 mins. Food was ok, not terrible but not the best. I was never hungry. Overall, stay if you find a greaattt deal, if not I would go with another place next time.

Cons- food, bed wasn't comfortable, loud music until late makes it impossible to sleep. Small kids running wild. Got hit by kid toys several times in pool. They were packed in hot tub. One babies diaper came off and waa floating in water. Parent's didn't seem to care. If you are going with small children then thid would be a great resort BUT, if you are adults only think twice before booking this resort

Spent one night to check it out. Loved Preferred pool. Beach was very nice. Buffet was good. Guacamole fresh. Shrimp ceviche at buffet was actually good.
Preferred lounge had better pastries.
I don't drink so I don't care for the better alcohol. Room was clean with a view and a balchony. Bed comfy.
Water never got hot was Luke cool warm. Javanese restaurant I would say 5 out of 10 not that great.
Enjoyed my time there. Would defiantly go back.

It was ok, but it’s an old property, pictures make the place look allot better than it actually is , ie there is no beach, you can swim out though , as the water is shallow, I’ve been to many all inclusive resorts, it close to the hotel strip if you want that
I chose a Dreams property expecting a WAY nicer hotel … I personally was disappointed, I was expecting a 4 to 4.5 star type of resort, I’d say this is more of a 3 star , or 3.5 star
As a note , my wife and I were going to change hotels , as we wanted something a bit more higher end, the manager was super nice, he tried his best, to accommodate us . But in all reality it’s just basically a weaker property for a “dreams property “” it’s still ok but not a 4 star or a 4.5 star as what I was hoping for …. When we booked it looked at reviews etc we were expecting something nicer

We’ve stayed in most of the resorts in Cancun, this one felt like a prison. The lifeguard yelled at my kids for “diving” in the pool…my kids don’t know how to dive and we’re not doing so. 2 minutes later he came back and accused my kids of jumping off the middle bar and told us it was “our last warning”…it was disgusting to think we paid to be someone that treated us like this and made my kids cry. I had to show the staff my video to prove they were just swimming and not doing anything they were accused of. The lifeguard was extremely vulgar and rude. My kids asked if we could leave which we ended up doing. In addition the facility is aging and in poor condition. A lot of the beach has been lost. It would be the last hotel I would recommend in Cancun. We stayed at the hotel beside instead, Fiesta Americana, and had a wonderful experience.

I recently stayed at Dreams Sands Resort & Spa in Cancun, and my experience was far from what I expected. While the location is great, the negatives overshadowed the positives.

From the start, the valet parking staff was rude and aggressive, demanding tips and leaving my wife and me waiting in the rain for our car while they conversed among themselves. This was not the welcome we anticipated.

When we entered our room, we found it was not clean; there was a mark from a spilled drink on the table, and the cleaning crew didn’t come to tidy up during our week-long stay.

Dining was also disappointing, with the same boring food served every day and little variety. It felt more like a chore to eat there.

I tried to address my concerns with a manager about the valet's disrespectful behavior, but nothing was done. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Dreams Sands Resort & Spa. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and unvaried dining made for a frustrating experience, and I will not be returning.

This was my 1st time on an all inclusive resort and I would definitely come back. The staff were amazing! The activities each night were so much fun, the amenities were better than expected, & the drinks kept flowing which was exactly what I wanted! Marena (our server on the beach for several days) was fantastic!!!! Room service and housekeeping staff were also great and very attentive and friendly. Our biggest down side was the number of people attempting to sell us trinkets on the beach. We were hounded everyday by these people trying to sell things. That was VERY annoying. We are very disappointed that the resort allows this to happen. Bathrooms within a distance from the beach were scarce and when you did find one, they were very dirty. Nighttime entertainment was none existent. Someone playing a saxophone in the lobby for an hour doesn't constitute a show! We will venture to find another resort for our next trip to Cancun.

We had a great time and loved this resort. Great location. Loved being able to swim in ocean. Food was good as we were always able to find something to enjoy. The only negatives were the chair game was real here. Had to get up early to secure a good spot. Also, rooms were humid as all of our clothes constantly felt damp. Overall a great trip!

Service and all was great! Food was not the best but not inedible or anything. The hibachi restaurant was my fav! Shoutout Jamie with the kayaking & guacamole time, Miguel with the outdoor bar, and Gerson with the beach drink/snack services!! But everyone was lovely. We went on a kayak tour which was included and paid for jet skis one day. There was always something going on and someone making sure our experience was best as possible! Didn’t bring children myself but definitely is family friendly as well.

We had the best girls trip here! The beach was absolutely pristine — one of my favorite beaches I’ve ever visited. The water is miles of shallow, crystal-clear blue, almost like a giant natural pool, which makes it perfect for both relaxing and very kid-friendly. The resort itself was clean, the food was good, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall such a fun and beautiful place to stay in Cancun. I would definitely come back!

We had 3 ocean view balcony rooms, which were great. Two were not ready upon our arrival but they upgraded two of the rooms immediately--to an ocean view suite with living and bedroom spaces.
The spa had a great menu of offerings of which we took advantage of as well. All great.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating--providing directions, offering drinks, etc. We purchased the preferred status which allowed us exclusive access to quality drinks, an all-day buffet, specialty pool/beach access and coupons for spa services.
The resort had a handful of restaurants for your choosing on a daily basis and there was always entertainment including a sunset mariachi dinner on Friday night.
We'd stay at the Dreams Sands Cancun again.

They do need some maintenance on the elevators. One would stop at every floor for no reason, and we often waited several minutes for one to arrive or gave up and took the stairs. Everything else was incredible.

We were very disappointed with several aspects of our 10-day stay.
Our room was extremely humid the entire time, and there was a loud fan noise above the entrance that never turned off (except during a power outage on the second day). We never received an explanation or apology.
The reservation system for Himitsu was extremely frustrating. We tried for four days to book at the exact opening time with no success. The concierge sent us to the restaurant manager, who said he would add us for the next evening. When we arrived, there was no reservation. We were offered two crowded seats at the grill after all that effort. The system clearly needs to be fixed.
There were not enough outdoor lounge chairs, especially in sunny areas. We also felt non-preferred guests were treated differently.
Lastly, despite requesting a first-floor room due to mobility issues in our party, we were assigned a second-floor room at the end of the hall. Getting more tha 3 towels and mini bar filled after requests on the app were also useless.
Overall, the repeated inconveniences made our stay far more frustrating than it should have been.

I had an amazing time here! The guest service, in every area of this resort, was 10/10! You can tell that whoever runs this place believes 100% in perfect customer service! I enjoyed the hospitality all the way around as well as the food, also the cleanliness. I loved my room and the resort itself is BEAUTIFUL! The photos and videos I saw online didn’t do it any justice at all! I would definitely go back! There’s also events going on that are super cool too.

I loved staying at this hotel, great location the amenities. The employees made us feel welcome at all times, they gave us great attention, service, super kind employees, great food, music and great vibe to party. My only complaint was the bath towels, it was very rough and that the hotel doesn’t have hotel shuttle. Other than that, it’s a great place. I would stay here again!

Overall, my stay was absolutely wonderful. It was my first visit to Mexico. With the exception of a couple of people, the staff were wonderful: they were cheerful, helpful, and were able to help in both Spanish and English. The food options were great with lots of variety. I don't have food allergies, but they always asked if there were allergies that they could work through. There always seemed to be activities for those who wanted to participate in it, and they weren't pushy if you didn't want to be part of it. This was also a draw back as it was usually really noisy until fun around 9 in the morning until about 11 pm. My room was very clean and very welcoming. The check in process was very easy. I'd recommend it, especially for chuldren. There were lots of kids there and it was family friendly

All was good except food. 2 out of the four of us got sick after eating. Drinks were terrible except for the preferred Lounge which drinks were amazing there. Resort itself was beautiful and service very good. Probably will not go back because of the food and drink.

We were good we were given an upgrade but were moved to a room on a higher floor without w balcony. I booked balcony rooms because we love to sit outside in the morning.
Additionally our room fridge didn’t work, the bathroom had a mold in the shower. Over all a very disappointing stay
