Complimentary water would been nice. Extremely hot over July 4th and water was $2 Cash from vending machine. Rooms were clean, staff wonderful, breakfast standard fare. The big white metal air thingie started vibrating at 3am. It finally stopped but what the hell.. check it out Suite Room 312. Would stay again

The room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, check-in was fast and easy. We enjoyed dinner in the attached restaurant. The owner mingled, asked if we needed anything, more than once. Breakfast was good, eggs, ham, pancakes, and waffles available. This is the third time i have stayed here, and definitely will again.

The rooftop restaurant and bar is fabulous. The hotel is clean but very dated. They only provide daily cleaning if you request services. You have to hang a notice on the outside of your door with the things that you would like done checked off, like your ordering lunch at a hospital lol. The day I was going to check out however , they were banging on my door at 9:30. I was very annoyed. I told them I was still there packing up. Then they came and banged on the door again at 11! I couldn't believe it. That's the only hotel I've ever stayed at that did that. They also have water available for your room, but it's a dollar a bottle. But for the price, its a good place to stay if you're visiting WBL.

We booked based on reviews and realized THAT was a mistake. First & foremost-the staff was very nice, as all Minnesotans are. That was the good; now the realistic. The property is OLD and rundown. The carpeting is worn and dirty and I don't really want to think about the dirt in there ( bring slippers or socks to wear and burn them directly after the visit). The bathrooms are tiny and, again, outdated. Two people cannot be in that area together. There are adequate plug ins, and the windows will open for fresh air. Now, for the most important items of a good hotel room: the bed & pillows. THEY ARE BOTH AWFUL. I believe the beds have not been changed out since the opening of this property back in the 1900's. They are just awful. Like wood frames with a cloth over them awful. Like \"blankets on the floor would be better\" awful. (But don't lie on that filthy carpet). And the pillows...need I say more?
We love Minnesota, we love the people, we had a lovely time. But the hotel was a train wreck, so choose wisely is my advise.

Nice, cozy, clean hotel, with a nice bar and restaurant.
The only drawback is having the swimming pool in the middle od the dining area, it was noisy to have breakfast/coffee in the morning. During dinnig times I believe the pool should be closed.
Otherwise the its a great hotel to stay!

We love going here. The rooms are very nice, the restaurant is excellent with great service. This trip I left my IPad at the front desk and about 10 minutes after getting to my room I got a call from the front desk. I was so thankful that the customer and the staff were so honest and called me right away. Excellent customer service and care for the guests

Enjoyed this stay, almost like being in an oversized B&B, the facility feels very homey. Staff helpful. Appreciated how they would personalize daily service to the room-provided cards for notes and requests which could be hung on door. Breakfast was fine, the coffee machine was a great treat! Another option that does not happen much these days in a smaller hotel like this was the attached restaurant-Rudy’s. Parking lot was full because of it when we arrived and it was packed, always a good sign. No need to go out to have a relaxing and very good meal.

We found most of the property and our room needing more light; stronger bulbs, more lamps would be helpful.

It’s been 12 years or someone we’ve stayed here. We’d return!

Rudy’s red eye grill has great bar/food. Cleaning staff did a great job accommodating our requests. They take pets but do not have a designated poddy area which was strange. When we checked in on Friday front lady scolded us for not calling them directly about bringing our 5 lb Yorkie.

Noisy!

Nice place but it’s noisy. If you are on the side of the hallway you will have to put up with the noise and pool until at least 11pm. Noise from the hallway is also pretty loud. They must be aware because they give you ear plugs in the dresser. Other than that it’s decent. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.

Overall good

We had a double queen room. Overall the stay was comfortable. The shower was tile and the grout needed a scrub, there was buildup and discoloration in the shower and there was some mold on the ceiling. We were only there 2 days so we skipped the shower until we got back home. Good breakfast with a very helpful and friendly attendant there to keep it all clean and stocked. The pool is in the middle with the rooms overlooking it. It was strange to me. I didn't want to be watched by people in their room while we were in the pool, so we skipped that too. It's a nice area, and the staff were all friendly. I would stay again.
