If a luxurious experience is needed, look no further than this Hyatt. Nicely located downtown St. Paul with easy walking distance to many restaurants and events.

Why only three stars though. Two major reasons…1) hotel restaurant is (as the receptionist states “simple bar food.it’s better to go to one of the local nearby restaurants.” On sight ‘Starbucks’ is the receptionist making you a coffee with Starbucks products. It was good though. Limited flavors.

The second reason… 2) Reserved a king bed one bedroom Suite (with sofa bed) directly from the hotels website. Paid up front at $450 a night. When we arrived, checkin was simple and efficient. Get to room…was not the suite I booked. Standard room with one king bed and sofa. It would be better described as a studio room. Zero view, unless steel wall is considered a view. Went to front desk and asked about room not being the suite (with kitchen and table/separate sleeping area) as their website described and shows photos of. Was told that is what I booked and they were not able to change rooms due to being full for the weekend.

Would I stay again…yes. But I would call directly and get name of person I am reserving with and confirm without a doubt, I am getting what I pay for.

!!!BEWARE DO NOT EVER USE EXPEDIA!!!!
I want to start by saying the hotel itself and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, my experience with Expedia was exactly the opposite.

I booked my room in March for a July stay. When I later found a cheaper rate directly on Hyatt’s website, I had a chat with Expedia’s customer service. The representative assured me they had a \"Price Guarantee\" and would match the rate, though they mentioned the difference would only be given as an Expedia credit. I wasn't thrilled about being locked into their platform, but I accepted it as a learning experience.

I was told to fill out an online claim form, which conveniently kept giving me error messages. After chatting with Expedia's customer service again: there is a massive catch in their fine print. It turns out that to be eligible for this advertised price guarantee, my account had to have been active since the previous November. Because I created my account in April specifically to book this trip, I was disqualified by default.

It is incredibly frustrating that Expedia’s customer service representatives will actively walk you through a \"guarantee\" process when they know—or should know—that you don't even qualify based on a hidden technicality. Because of this loophole, I was out over a significant amount.

Save yourself the headache and the money. Book directly with the hotel. Expedia's price guarantee is highly deceptive, and their business practices leave a lot to be desired.

Overall, our stay had both positive and negative aspects. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly host. The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable, and the accommodations met our expectations. The hotel's location was convenient, and I appreciated the secure building access, even though the property shares space with apartments.
The breakfast buffet offered a decent selection, but I would recommend labeling the food items. Guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions should be prepared to ask staff about ingredients, as nothing was identified. The biggest disappointment was the plumbing. During both mornings of our stay, the restroom near the breakfast area remained backed up and out of service. Given its location near the dining area, this created an unpleasant and unsanitary environment.Unfortunately, on the second evening, the toilet in our room also became clogged. I reported the issue to the front desk, but I was informed that maintenance would not be available until 8:00 the following morning. The front desk associate was courteous and doing the best she could while working alone, so I do not fault her. However, it is not reasonable for guests to be without a functioning toilet overnight, and the hotel should have an after-hours plan in place to address emergencies. If the plumbing issues were resolved and breakfast items properly labeled, would have rated this hotel much higher.

Great location! High ceilings in the room with floor to ceiling windows are fantastic. The valet system was very efficient and the staff were always friendly. While the room felt clean and was probably the most spacious room we have ever experienced, it smelled horribly of cigarettes and marijuana. The history of the building is neat, but the lack of included parking and location in general wasn’t ideal for our travel party. While we appreciate an included breakfast, we opted to skip it after the first day as the options were meh.

Well for one when we arrived to check-in we found out that they ONLY HAVE VALET PARKING. After driving from Tennessee. 17 hour drive. This was not disclosed in our reservation which was ($40) a day. Which we made a 8 day reservation. Not to many choices are as far as working around that. The hotel was beautiful but,We do believe the pool could've definitely been bigger its 3 1/2 foot deep pool and about and probably about a 5,000 gallin pool gove or take. The max occupancy is 12 people. Also the room was very Hot in the evening time and they have it set to where you can't adjust the temperature. Breakfast was definitely helpful but, it would've been nice to have more of a verify. (For hot meals)They did French toast, sausage, eggs and potatoes 2nd breakfast waffles, ham, eggs, hashbrowns so flopped back in forth between those two. Besides sides like toast, bagels, oatmeal and fresh fruit they even had yogurt. (which were daily). Staff was polite and valet was prompt. Just didn't expect to spend an extra $300 on parking. Overall was a great stay again very beautiful and we would revisit down the line if need be. Very clean to and very quite which was definitely nice!

If you are looking for a quick in and out hotel this isn’t the place. You have to be buzzed in the front door of the building.

We arrived after 10pm and had to drive to a parking garage so don’t stay here if you are not able to schelp your luggage on sidewalks and across busy streets. Valet parking was closed.

The hotel is in an old building and the rooms were nice enough but oddly huge, like the room must have been an office or something. Didn’t get very cold and unfortunately someone had been in our room, washed their hands/used towels. It was so late we didn’t ask for another room.

I had a wonderful stay here on 6/5. This hotel is so clean and so beautiful. I was surprised at how big and gorgeous the rooms were. The shower was great, but I really do think every hotel room in the world needs a handheld showerhead. The bed was SO comfortable and I had a phenomenal night of rest. The breakfast was good, though the bacon could have been crispier. I think it may have been turkey bacon? It tasted good. There was decently priced valet parking for $32 a night, and the process to call valet for your car is very easy. The deposit amount was incredibly reasonable, only $100. I booked the room day of and it was a very reasonable rate. I went to a concert and I had to go to work the next day. I started going along and I realized I forgot the merch and had to turn around. I called the front desk and the woman that worked overnight, I think her name was Sam?, went and grabbed it for me and I was still able to make it on time. I am SO grateful for her help, she really saved the day. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.

It was okay. The room had high ceilings, definitely felt smaller than 600sqft. I appreciated that it was pet friendly, I did not appreciate being told there was a “$100 deposit” only to have my reciept at the end of the stay say “$100 pet cleaning fee.” That feels dishonest when we left our room spotless. There were two Valets when I stayed, one was great. One valet was awkward, seemed high or just spaced out of it. He’d watch from the inside while I struggled with a baby, a dog and whatever bags I had. You have to physically ask for help for anything and everything and staff is very young, and seem put out by it. I wasn’t asking for much and tipped $20 each time someone did help me. valet parking is on a ramp in heavy traffic in the middle of downtown, they have large roller carts for luggage that are old and don’t push straight. It is difficult to get out of your car without almost being hit, on my last day the good valet (a black guy if that helps identify the good valet for management) was very helpful getting my bags to my car and even loaded them for me. It took me and 2 employees to safely get the roller cart to my car because it doesn’t steer straight or lock so one person needs to be holding onto it while another unloads because you are on a steep ramp in heavy fast moving traffic. As for cleanliness the only microwave in the building is in the lobby& it was filthy.Your blanket is old, thin & dirty, between 2 rough sheets. The bed felt like a rock slab with a pad.

Our room was a suite on the 5th floor. Those rooms have very high ceilings, so drapes opened and closed with an electric switch. In the first room #501, the drapes wouldn't close all the way - approx. two feet short. Since the room faced east, this was a problem for getting sleep. The front-desk rep. willingly moved us to another room, #503. Those drapes nearly closed, but left a crack approx. six inches wide. Sure enough, we had sunlight pouring into our room early in the morning. The sheer drapes in #503 were torn at the bottom. The room itself was spotless. The beds were comfortable. The TV worked well and had a lot of selections. The wi-fi connection was strong, but reaction time was slow, like dial-up. Type, wait a few seconds. Type, wait. Etc. Not my laptop's fault!

There was a large area with tables for breakfast. The music on the entire first floor was loud enough to be annoying and interfere with conversation. Rascal Flatts \"All Night Long\" loud at 8 AM? There were many breakfast offerings. At approx. 8 AM, eggs were almost out, but plenty of sausage patties and potatoes. Fresh fruit. Etc. Quinoa also was offered with fixings. The brown sugar was hard and clearly had been in the container for a very long time. This is a detail, but it shows the staff wasn't checking. Finally, dishes piled up and up - no staff in sight.

Finally, our top floor room had a view of a brick wall on the roof.

I hope for attention to details for premium price.

The girl at the front desk was not the most helpful or pleasant. We booked 2 rooms with Expedia and only had one room in the computer. Instead of trying to help us understand what happened and resolve the problem she just simply made us purchase another room and be off. I have to say it is a very clean hotel and the rooms are beautiful. So the front desk was the only bad part. She needed to be a lot more friendly and more helpful with the situation. Because of this misunderstanding with the rooms I don’t think I will go back but you never know.

Breakfast was good, would’ve been amazing if they had potatoes or hash browns. The hotel has valet parking only, which costs $39. The worker at the front desk said they could get this discounted to $34, however, I was charged the full amount. They were also wearing a Lakers shirt, which I found a bit strange and unprofessional. We had to park across the street in a tiny lot which was reasonably priced but very inconvenient. There was a constant group of homeless people camped right outside the hotel where the only metered parking is. Several areas of the hotel wreaked of marijuana. Very nice rooms and clean facility with nice amenities at a reasonable price for downtown. Wish it wasn’t so scary to walk around st Paul T night these days
