The room was clean. The staff was super friendly. Valet parking was awesome.
Laura
Beautiful historic hotel. The location was wonderful and quiet. Within walking distance to Grand Casino Arena where we attended an event. Coffee, and food nearby. The room was clean and very comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay and would book here again.
Monica
We love this hotel.
Elizabeth
It was beautiful
Ryan
Clean. Professional. Nice. Helpful. Great location.
Luke
The St. Paul is a nice hotel—though in need of a refresh. The bathroom amenities are nice, the rooms are decently-sized, there is a small side fridge next to the minibar.
Staff are really where the hotel shines. Front door staff—James—are responsive and helpful. The front desk staff are also willing to help with requests. The hotel had five weddings while I was there, but I would have had no idea—nice and quiet.
But the rooms are a bit dated. I heard a refresh is coming, but it is a bit early 90s. Carpeted floors, older furniture, dimmed lightbulbs, hard to find plugs. There is a lot of potential here, but in the meantime this is a very good hotel with excellent staff.

The St Paul was one of the very best hotels we have stayed at in a while. The team went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Everything we asked for or needed was handled beautifully. Excellent Hotel!
Crystal
Loved it
Debra
The hotel was very clean. In a safe area and my daughter and I felt comfortable walking around. The staff were very nice and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay there again
David
Top shelf hotel. Would definitely recommend.
Steven
Great property well maintained. Nostalgic hotel with the charm of yesteryear.
KaRan
Great stay
Nataliia
Very friendly and helpful frontdesk workers. Clean facility. Great choice of breakfast.
Robert
We’re greeted by staff at the front drive, car was parked for us, check in was easy and our room was ready and cozy when we arrived! The restaurant provided tasty food and good service too.
Bernadette
The Saint Paul is a beautiful, but old hotel. The common areas are very clean and well kept. Our room was clean when we arrived, but housekeeping skipped a day, and we had to call for towels and toilet tissue. The room is dark, and the furnishings are dated but completely serviceable.
The area surrounding the hotel has little to offer at night, and we did not feel entirely safe walking after dark.

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, excellent food, & great location for exploring the Twin Cities
William
Hotel has historic charm with great location. It needs some updating which will happen with a new owner, I understand. Price is competitive now and will probably become more expensive in coming year. Still a great experience and I plan to return again and again.
Pamela
Lovely historic hotel in downtown St Paul. Numerous restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Terry
Very friendly staff, catered well to our needs.
Thomas
Great service. An older building that shows its age. Great location for us and we will certainly consider if need that area again.
Michelle
This is such a classic St Paul hotel and it was fun to stay here. The location is excellent and short walking distance to theaters, Grand casino arena, and many excellent restaurants. Rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great little bathroom amenities in case you forgot anything (QTips etc). Quiet rooms too. Staff was excellent especially the valet team! Very welcoming!
Judi
Great hotel. Great staff.
David
I love this hotel. Great location, historic building, many nearby restaurants. Highly recommended!
JAMES
Excellent service in person but they didn't answer the front desk phone. It's a swanky older hotel, the public areas are fancy, my room was nice, the bathroom needs a refresh. Would happily return.
Marc
Unusual old fashioned restrooms off lobby with individual cloth hand towels.
Sophie
A nice historic hotel in the heart of Saint Paul. Very clean with engaging programming. However, the hotel is due for a bit of a refresher…
Frederic
A classic that still deserves accolades
Susan
Everything at the St Paul is to the highest standard. The bedding, the amenities and the food are all highly excellent. None of the is second to the staff. From the moment we were greeted at the door, we were treated with the utmost care. Clearly, the staff is held to high standards. What is also clear is that not only are they well trained but they are treated well themselves and it is reflected in their treatment of the clients.
Connie
The front desk was not helpful at all. Just needed a corkscrew in the room, and she said i had to call and order it from room service. The phone in the room did not work. Still the front desk would not help order it for me. Unbelievable.
The valet was amazing!

Property is kept in shape. Food is high quality, staff accommodating. Stayed here for our anniversary.
Carol
Beautiful hotel and super friendly staff! Restaurant was delicious! We will certainly be back!
DiAnn
Always a great experience staying at the St. Paul. Jazz was wonderful last night’
Cheryl
A girls weekend trip... the best!!
Marcus
Great experience. Location is fantastic. Superior staff. Hotel restaurants were superb. Our first time in St. Paul couldn't have been better in large part due to the hospitality of the St. Paul team!
Trysha
I really appreciated the free shuttle to the concert venue!
Kim
Great walking to downtown sites. Walked to the theatre. Library and close to shopping and restaurants
Cherese
Overall, the room seemed clean, but the duvet on the bed had huge stains on it. We immediately threw it on the floor in the corner of the room. We always bring our own top sheet and pillow cases, otherwise we would not have been able to stay in that room.
Randy
The location is superb, right next to Rice Park and among many walkable restaurants. The staff was superb, and everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast at The Drake was pricey but good. We would definitely stay again.
JoEllen
Lovely property!
Judith
The staff was excellent and attentive.
Mary
Great bed and room with nice toiletries a coffee danish bar in the lobby every morning was interesting try different things
Karen
The check-in time was difficult. I rarely see a check-in as late as 4pm. Thankfully the staff was able to help us check-in at 3 pm so we could get to a 4 pm wedding.
graycloud
I have stayed at The Saint Paul Hotel many times, and for good reason. Always a clean, quiet room, always courteous staff, always excellent food. I will be here anytime I visit the Twin Cities.
Margaret
Staff is so helpful. Hotel needs maintenance, seems worn out.
Catherine
Hotel was good. A little dated but comfortable.
scott
The architecture and design
Tyler
Extremely gorgeous design and setup. Great location and the staff are very helpful. Will stay here again.
Swaminathan
Classic style, central location
Colleen
The hotel was central to everything we needed to do, so extremely convenient. The staff was accommodating, professional and courteous, we enjoyed interacting with them. Our room was comfortable, clean and lovely. Overall an excellent experience. Thank you.
Bianca
The staff are great, and the rooms are nice.
Kevin
Close to the arena
Bhavtej
Clean room. Nice view. Historical building that was also quite luxurious.
Peter
Clean, great location, wonderful restaurant on site (best crab cakes ever), friendly staff, unique/historic charm. Not your standard modern hotel setting.
Perfectly located to explore the area.

I have stayed at the St. Paul Hotel on several occasions. It is a beautiful classic hotel in the heart of St. Paul. I would be happy to stay there any time.
Ryan
Plan for paying for parking somewhere. Room was tiny
Clifford
Awesome
Diane
Awesome staff and lovely historic style furniture.
William
Room 509 was the smallest room I have ever stayed in my entire life (I am 82 years old). The first disappointment I have had at this hotel after many stays. Otherwise a great hotel.
Jennifer
We had a wonderful one night stay. Loved the room, the staff were so helpful and personable. Great location too. Go see Wes at the bar for the most friendly service that we won’t soon forget.
Pamela
We enjoyed the historic charm of the hotel, and it was incredibly easy to drive to from multiple directions. The staff was universally pleasant and accommodating to some unusual requests (one of us got sick during our stay). The afternoon tea offered on weekends was truly fabulous: delicious and elegantly served, with piano music accompaniment. This was so much better in every way than a generic “big box” hotel.
Alyssa
Excellent staff. Lovely cozy room. We loved our stay!
Alexandra
Clean room, attentive staff, great breakfast, wish it would be in the main dinning room with better view, instead of the basement.
Stacey
Beautiful hotel; comfy bed - great experience
Elizabeth
This is my third time staying here and it was lovely. Everything is always clean, bed is very comfortable. Perfect distance to the oper house and many other fun activities. I highly recommend staying here. Everyone is always very nice and helpful there.
Steven
We used the valet, well worth it! Dinner at the grill and breakfast at the drake - both phenomenal!
Sharon
We were disappointed that there were no munchies available in the room. Also the coffee maker did not work properly so we were told to go to the lobby bar and get coffee at no charge.
Nataliia
My favorite place to stay in St.Paul. Lots of parking garages around. Great location to take stroll around and make some pictures.
Nadine
Used to hotels with many more amenities
Kathleen
Short walk to Grand Casino Arena events. Beautiful hotel, valet parking with the valets dressed very classy, and another who opened doors for us. Great experience!
Melissa
Friendly staff, great location and valet parking makes this a great option for staying downtown.
Joe
The Saint Paul will always be my first choice if I stay in the area. It’s a very cool property with a comfortable bed, excellent amenities, and lots of history. It is really first rate.
richard
Love this hotel. It is in need of some sprucing up in the rooms. Showing some age. The hotel has a charm to it that makes one want to return. Friendly staff. Terrific restaurant and bar. It just needs some TLC.
elizabeth
Beautiful
Becky
Loved the valet parking with swift and easy access as needed. having someone to help get my luggage to the room was immensly helpful. I look forward to another stay with the Saint Paul Hotel in the future.
Leah
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are super friendly. I love staying here.
Jane
No complaints…friendly and helpful staff!
Chris
Always perfect!
Rhian
Great hotel — the staff are genuinely super helpful, the rooms are spotless, and everything you could possibly need is right there (no scavenger hunts required). The bar was buzzing and seriously well-stocked, with a great variety of drinks to keep the good vibes flowing.
Breakfast was… *chef’s kiss* — the kind of spread that makes you briefly consider becoming a morning person.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff and location.

Es fantástico un lujo en todo sentido desde sus instalaciones y el ambiente la gente que llega es una atmósfera de un nivel supremo , precios relativamente altos dignos de la experiencia, si lleva automóvil el servicio de valet Parking altamente recomendado
Anthony
Very great service
elizabeth
The St Paul Hotel is a little shabby but still so marvelously elegant and grand. Wonderful service especially in the coffee shop.
tim
Clean rooms, great staff
Brittany
Whenever I stay in St. Paul this is my place. Friendly staff, and all-around great experience. Plus!, they have a cafe on site open during certain hours, and you can get the barista to make you the best Espresso in town.
Cari
The room was quiet, clean and well maintained. It was close to an event we attended. You can't beat the price and convenience.
Neda
Rooms were outdate
James
Excellent staff. Enjoyed the lobby cafe (the barista was awesome) and the carrot cake in the grill. The exercise room is in desperate need of some attention. Dirty, busted equipment, bathroom smells, no towels, etc. I’m not sure why hotels do not do a deep clean on each guest room a couple times a year. The house keeping staff can only do so much. For the cost of the stay, I was expecting a a slightly cleaner room. I’m giving this hotel a five mainly because the staff was phenomenal. The property owners need to up their game and make the facility match the incredible staff.

Staff were polite, friendly and professional. Lobby and all shared spaces were clean, tidy and well maintained. The room was perfect and had lots of lovely little details.
Hotel was in a great location and would absolutely stay here again next time I’m in Saint Paul.

Beautiful historic property. Wonderful first introduction to St Paul. Helpful staff. Great little gym and incredible bar/restaurant options. Easy walk to conference center.

Wonderful hotel.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our only problem was a coffee maker that didn’t work even after we reported it. My husband had to get dressed and go buy expensive hotel coffee.
Steve
Absolutely beautiful inside, we loved the old charm and well presented staff.

Great hotel in a great location for the Great Casino Arena. Only down side, limited climate control in the room. There was a notice in the room advising that their system was in winter mode. So by the afternoon, my room was about 81 degrees and unable to turn on the A/C.
