I could hear someone playing music with loud base and the room its self was dirty none of the lights were plugged in and furniture waa moved away from the wall where there was trash.

The Quality Inn-Midway was anything but quality, precisely the opposite. The stench was nothing in comparison to the utter shock I received while walking to my room. The carpet and walls, stained with bodily fluids and doors hanging by the hinges with holes put through them by police boots. The room was nothing short of impressive; I’ve never seen such a disgusting place. I closed the door to find fresh screw holes and a lock secured with electrical tape. The walls were peeling and bathroom stained a nicotine-yellow. The heater was on and boy was it working, set to 86 degrees the heat facilitated the release of the indescribable aroma. I lasted 15 minutes in this house of horrors before I had to book something else immediately and FAST. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

The whole place was not good. The doors to the rooms I reserved didnt have proper locks, the blankets and shower curtains had burn holes, the floor in one of the rooms was warped and uneven, the tv in the other room didnt work, no food at \"the onsite restaurant\".

Never got any clean towels during 3 night stay nor was our room ever tidied up. The area was very noisy at night both inside the units and outside in the parking area. Breakfast was ridiculous, a box of cereal and a loaf of bread is not adequate. Just don’t serve breakfast and lower rates

The only good thing was the bed was comfortable. parking was limited, the centennial breakfast was nearly non existent, the hallways stunk of smoke even though there was no smoking allowed. The audacity to have a sign up saying no refund or room switch will be given if you don’t say anything within 15 mins of checking in is ridiculous given it takes just about that time to get your bags from the car, to your room and even take time in inspect or realize any issues.
There were rooms that were “fixed” with tape and a random screen in front of it. My room had a piece of paper painted over a hole in the wall. the water pressure was weak, and the showerhead leaked as well. And don’t get me started on the wifi constantly going out if you can even get it to work to begin with because their authenticating licensing is expired. I also had to listen to beeping from a dying battery from a carbon monoxide alarm that I informed front desk about twice.

If having free parking is worth everything else, then sure, stay here. otherwise it’s a bust.

I'm only giving two stars because the staff corrected a major issue with my booking. The staff overall was helpful but I believe the manager, Kim, was the best.

The first notable thing you'll notice is the smell. The entire first floor smelled of cigarettes even though there is no smoking signs everywhere. The second floor where my room was located smelled of cigarettes and curry and harsh cleaning chemical trying to mask the two ordors unsuccessfully. Fortunately the smell mostly didn't carry into the room, but the hallways were unbearable.
Second was the bedding had cigarette burns throughout. Again, this is supposed to be a smoking free stay. Evidence showed otherwise.

Staff was very nice upon check in and check out. In the room, the toilet had hair all over the back of the seat. No hand soap. The closet door didn’t shut. The internet connection was decent, but not great. Also, our shower tub drained so slow it turned into a bath after 10 minutes. If the room was properly cleaned, the cleaning staff would know that. Also looked like a can of soda exploded onto the wall and was never even wiped down.

The pictures on this site are not what you are getting. The place is a hole! It is a nonsmoking property but smells horrible of smoke even in the room. There were bugs on the walls. There is a sign that says you have 15 minutes to file a complaint, well when the doors dont work and takes you 15 minutes plus to finally get in. Just a dump with not very helpful staff. TV didnt work right and you can clearly hear the people around your room as if they were in your room. I have never given a property such a bad review but this was for sure a bait and switch!

This motel is quite good for the price. The lot and rooms are safe, with plenty of lighting and security cameras. Their restaurant has good food and prices, and the staff was very pleasant. It is no-frills, but the sheets and towels were clean and the TV works.
I would definitely consider staying here again, if I were coming to the Cities for a weekend.

The overall facility is tired, which was fine. The issue is that we stayed there for 3 days and never had someone from housekeeping enter our room. No clean towels, no straightening the bed, no general cleaning at all the entire time. The walls are paper thin so you will hear everything! Including the fight down the hall that drew the police at 6 in the morning. Some interesting clientele. We had someone enter the building and pound on our door repeatedly at 5 in the morning. There were times when we would have liked to return to the room to relax but did not because of the overall state and the feeling that we might not be entirely safe there. Parking was very limited and we were nearly hit by someone in the lot. Lots of random people walking about in the parking lot at all hours.Overall would absolutely not stay there again, wouldn’t recommend the facility to anyone else, and will seriously reconsider staying at other other facilities in the chain.

Booked this location because of vicinity to our event, but was not overwhelmed. The hotel, in general, has all the basics but could be a lot better just by sprucing it up. The room was clean and amenities like fridge, hairdryer, etc. all working. Bed was comfortable and TV worked. The main door had a dead bolt, but no chain lock. The door to the pool was not working, The shower could use a couple grab bars for better safety, The so-called breakfast was pathetic.. a few sparse mini pastries and toast. They have a nice big room for it - just not utilizing it. There were no towels available in the pool even though there was a shelf unit for them, and the whirlpool seemed to have loose tiles at the bottom. The bar area was large but the music too loud and the hours inadequate (closed at 11pm on a Saturday night?) Parking was limited and sketchy at best (a semi-truck took up about ten spaces). Overall, it would take not too much to elevate this adequate stay to an above average one.

Great staff, close to stfair but poor room quality

Staff was great. Location was great for getting to the State Fair and catching the free bus ride from a nearby church parking lot. However, the overall poolside, king bedroom was in poor shape with our pool side door unusable, a main light switch that didn't work, a toilet that didn't flush half the time and upon returning our smoke free room reeked of very strong marijuana. The restaurant attached was very nice with great staff.

This hotel was awesome!! Was it new no but it was very clean!! The rooms were nice!! The pool and hot tub were great!! The staff and the owner of the hotel were absolutely awesome!! Not Happy with Service

The check-in was nice. We were pleased to be told we could take a hotel shuttle to the State Fair the next morning. We had a good supper at the restaurant located in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was pretty small and really needs some updating and improving. Breakfast was sparse with cereal and a few pre-packaged pastries. Next, The staff person was rude to my husband about putting milk away. Then he told us they cancelled our 8 a.m. shuttle even though the driver said he could take us. Also he told us that we wanted to come back too early and we couldn't leave until 8 pm. He didn't want to work with us, saying he would charge us another night if we left our car at the hotel. After all the messing around, we didn't feel we could trust what was being said so we left. Think the guy knew we weren't happy and acted like maybe the driver would do it, but it seemed he would still charge us another night. It's doubtful we'll want to stay here again.

Well, to start, the toilet didn't work. The TV didn't work, had to get working remotes, and no channel guides available. Furniture in the room had veneer peeling off. Other than the person at the front desk, VERY little command of the English language from anyone. All were clueless as to how to fix anything. Went next door to attached restaurant, had to go into the kitchen to get service, again, no English, until the front desk guy came over to take our orders. Two ice machines, both broken, no elevator (two elderly people with bad knees had to navigate the stairs), pool was closed for repairs. Had to be moved to a second room, ended up even farther away from parking lot, same TV problems, big gash in carpet, very few wall plug ins, and the power strip had a short in it. No local maps in front office. \"Continental breakfast\" was stale cereal, warm milk, slices of bread on a tray, and small powdered donuts. No fruit, no juice, terrible coffee. With ALL the issues, no offer to make things right, or better. Only thing that kept me from giving one stars for everything is that the person behind the desk was at least polite, and the AC worked in both rooms. Definitely won't be back! Used to be able to trust the Quality Inn brand...

This property was disgusting. The entire place smelled of mildew and smoke even though we were in a nonsmoking room. I had booked a room with 2 doubles and they tried to give me a king claiming that there weren’t very many room available. The bathroom was so gross that I did not shower in the morning. There was a plastic bag covering the fire detector. The area was very noisy and a constant banging that happened all night. If I had to stay again I would just sleep in my car.

Don’t let the reviews scare you away. My friends and I (group of girls 23-27) stayed for two nights for a festival in town. Besides the thin walls and the weird smells in the hallways, the room was clean, everything worked and you get exactly what you pay for. Front desk was friendly and answered all of our questions. Decent enough for what we needed.

I was surprised Hotels.com included such a poor hotel. I was on second floor. The carpet smelt, the hallway smelt of curry. I had to ask three times to fix my TV. I was there three nights, and no one serviced my room that I noticed. The only thing I enjoyed was the attached restaurant/bar which was convenient and served decent food.

It was decent and near the mall, I found the swimming area quite nice. Other guests were quite loud late into the night, and the breakfast was just a few granola bars pretty much. There also was a parking fee, but for a one night stay its an alright option. Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

During my stay, a (male) worker knocked & enter my parent’s room. My mother reported it immediately to the front desk. She was told a manager would give her a call BUT no manager called. The man at the front desk did apologize. I’m grateful my father wasn’t there bc he would’ve crashed out. My mom was upset.

I checked in, checked the room, checked the parking and felt the place was not Safe, not clean, and I cancelled my reservation at the Front Desk. Parking was not avaialable on the property, to many people loitering outside. Felt unsafe leaving my vehicle parked at this location and the building and rooms seem very dirty and dated. I expected alot more from Quality Inn. I don't know if I can reimbursed from Expedia.

I get to the facility and after they run my card so I can't get my money back they tell me there's 100$ deposit. We had to switch rooms in first 20mins 3x because of things not working at all the air, the tv, the phone, and the fridge. I will never go to this facility again. Rooms are very outdated, it was loud and I did not sleep well whatsoever. Staff were not very friendly at all.

Our stay was horrible. Our first room, the lights wouldn't come on, the bathroom floor was sticky, the air didn't work, the window leading to the pool was open, and there were cigarette burns in the blanket. Got moved to a new room. The door was so far from the frame around the edge that you could see through, the outside window was left open, there was blood on one of the pillows. There were people in the parking lot all night, screaming and fighting, dogs constantly barking. Got woken up around 3:30 in the morning by a woman in the parking lot screaming for help. Cops were in the parking lot around 4:00. Overall was just a horrible experience.

I booked an accessible room because I use a wheelchair. The room they gave me was not accessible. I couldn’t fit through the bathroom door. There was a grab bar in the shower, but also a tub. I went back to the desk and they said I could cancel my reservation. I agreed. They said they cleared everything but I’d have to contact Expedia. I did so.
