Great hotel and very central next to main train station . Service is friendly and professional . Great hotel . Would definitely return . There are lot of random people and druggies roaming the streets around the central station at night, but didnt have any issues with them as such. Also the security at the hotel is very good so we felt very safe .

4-5 stars overall. Clean rooms, very good breakfast, and friendly front desk and breakfast staff. The location is very central and conveniently located to the main station and river. However as other reviewers have commented, there are a lot of drug users hanging around the station and streets. Nevertheless the area did not feel unsafe during daylight hours.

Comfortable hotel close to the station with a tram stop outside. Quiet rooms. Great service from the friendly staff. Clean modern facilities and the mini bar and coffee machine were welcome additions. I didn’t participate in the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Would definitely book again.

The hotel property is very nicely kept, clean, and very convenient to the main train station.

The single bed room is small but it has all you need for a couple of nights stay. The bedroom and bathroom were updated, clean and had all I needed for a night.

I would stay in this hotel again for a night or two given the convenience of how close it is to the train station and how clean and modern it is on the inside. The breakfast is also very decent.

As with any other hotel or property in the neighborhood of the main train station, the problem is the rampant and publicly visible drug dealers, drug users, alcoholics, and homeless people that have taken over the streets and sidewalks. There are no problems with this inside the hotels of the area, but it is quite an evident problem once you step out of this or any other hotels in the neighborhood.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Frankfurt and had a mixed experience.

**Location:** The hotel is conveniently located next to the train station, making it easy to get around the city. However, the area around the hotel felt unsafe, with a noticeable presence of addicts and beggars, which was quite unsettling.

**Room Quality:** Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the rooms was lacking. The carpets were particularly dirty, which affected the overall comfort of the stay.

Sadly not in a great area and not the best hotel.

Hotel is very close to the train station, which, unfortunately has a number of homeless groups and what appears to be prostitution. There are groups of young men around all day and night.

The room itself was adequate, far too hot (even for winter) and the only way to cool down is to have the window wide open - which means the noise is unbearable (sirens, loud shouting and laughter etc) - even with the windows shut it’s still quite noisy.

There is a kettle in the room but the tea and coffee on offer is not nice. Thankfully there is a McDonald’s and Starbucks at the train station.

We were only staying for the weekend so we managed, but we would not stay here (or this area) again.

It’s not a 4 star hotel at all. But the price was low so should have been warned.

Location is excellent, just next to train station, tram stop just outside the hotel. Because it's centrally located, it comes with its cons, (a) unwanted elements of the society selling drugs, (b) traffic noise.
Hotel is decent, good for few days stopover. Lift is small, it says max 4 person, but you won't take chance with that. Room size was decent, needs a bit of upgradation, specially with carpets. Bed was comfortable, bathroom amenities were great. Mini bar was available at extra cost. Daily housekeeping is available. Water kettle and tea coffee tray in room gives it a big plus.

Front desk personal were not so friendly and warm. Same with the lady in the breakfast area. When we checked in the front desk said parking is free if you're a member, then when we checked out they charged us for parking. Parking is really tight and limited in the basement. Location is conveniently in front of the train station. Its clean for the most part but the carpet smells and is quite old. Breakfast was good actually! Decent place, staff could be friendlier but don't expect much.

Hotel is very good for a short stay. We liked its convenient location near highways and central train station. It offers €20 UG parking. However, the parking ramp and spaces inside are too small for large vehicles. We walked 25 minutes to get to the old town, great restaurants in the downtown, Alt Opera or Cathedral. Some streets in directions to river and train station do not appear safe. But we safely walked approximately 15 minutes after 8pm away from the hotel along a large street in a direction to Alt Opera. The downtown attractions are located in additional 10 min walk on a right hand side.

The room was more than adequate, staff weren’t as helpful as most we’d encountered on this trip. The biggest problem for us was that within 10 minutes of being outside, we were approached by 3 different aggressive looking men demanding something that we couldn’t understand and wasn’t sure at one point if we were about to be mugged. We might’ve just been unlucky but it put a bit of a cloud over our stay and we were then reluctant to venture out

The property was great, the room was super quiet and we were right on the Main Street with a tram stop out front. The building and room was really nice and I’d stay there again because it’s practically across the street from the train station. That said, be advised to not walk down the street behind the hotel, very sketchy people, on drugs it was pretty awful and I’d only stay there again because of how close it is to the train station and it was a good price.

Great hotel...BUT...

Hotel itself was great, polite staff, clean and comfortable. Good location across the road from train station.
But there is a big BUT. The area around the hotel is drug addict central. Openly taking hard drugs and the smells that go with it. The area certainly needs cleaning up dramatically before we would stay in this hotel again, which is a shame. Certainly wouldn't recommend a single woman staying here.

Good place for a short stay. The hotel maintains standard as a reputable chain hotel. The only issue is the location, though convenient to the transportation hub, there are many dubious people around that make you feel unsafe. There are drugs pushers, beggars etc congregate at the area. If not for the convenience of reaching the train station, I would recommend to stay in the old town instead of this location.

Hotel not bad but won’t stay again

The room is pretty acceptable. Reception staff do what they are there to do. Breakfast staff not very proactive. Breakfast itself is very very simple, food is acceptable but there’s no care - there were expired yoghurts available and empty containers and plates. The area is good during the day but at night you won’t feel safe as you’ll be approached by many drug dealers. Across the street there’sa few restaurants that serve great Middle Eastern food.

Between the stains all over the room (floors, walls, bathroom...), the ripe in the curtains, the constant sirens wailing, the TINY one person elevator, the location being up the street from a very scary red light district and the breakfast people being rude because I asked for a spoon for my first bad coffee in Germany... it was an absolute horrible experience.

I chose the hotel because it was close to the train station. Hotel is decent but rooms are very very small. Cleaning could be improved. Internet connection has many interruptions. For some reason if I kept the windows closed there would be a damp air in the room.

Elevator is very small but that is a fact of life when remodeling an older building not designed from the ground up for elevators.

Location is ideal: 5 mins. walk to Frankfurt Central Station and 15 min. walk to downtown (main shopping district).
Rooms: very quiet hotel; very comfortable bed and pillow; good coffee machine and shower.
Staff: friendly, polite, accommodating and very customer focused. eg. Our flight was at 5.30pm the day of check-out. The hotel kindly let us check out at 1pm instead of 12 noon.
Price: good rate for a 4 star and for such a central location.
I would stay here again and recommend it.

Probably wont stay here again. Had to climb five flights of stairs with my luggage due to elevator under maintenance. I can understand emergency maintenance but the sign indicated it would be down for three days. Therefore, it was planned. No advance word of this during booking and of course, no adjustment for the inconvenience - just a "sorry". This "sorry" customer wont be booking with this company again if that's the way they will treat customers.

Great location near the main train station, the food and other businesses near by are what you'd expect near a train station, quick and cheap. Our room was nice and quiet, spacious(for Europe) with a mini fridge and nice bathroom. The staff was so/so, the guy that checked us in was nice, but when we called down later to inquire about the TV, the staff was rude and gave a nonsense answer. The wifi was good, we were able to stream and chat.

I have already E-mailed you about my experience at this hotel. When I checked in I was told the room is not ready and I should come back later and when I came back I was told they arranged for me to stay at another hotel because the hotel was over booked and they dad to give away my room even though I was already charged for the room.
The room rate at the hotel I was sent to was $70.00 cheaper per night.
I expect to be reimbursed for the difference and in addition to that to be compensated.

The hotel was a pleasant stay. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was small, but comfortable and we didn't really spend much time there anyway. Breakfast was a small style buffet breakfast which we found suited us as some of the eateries in the vicinity didn't really offer much in the way of breakfast. Wifi was reliable and the hotel is close to the main train station and about a 10-15 minute walk to the cbd and shopping area.
The area is pretty safe despite being close to the 'red light district' just obviously use caution like you would in any other city as some streets were a little dodgy. We (2 females) didn't really have any dramas in the way of safety.

Last time I book this hotel through Expedia. I'm not sure whether it was the Expedia booking or if it's the hotels policy to intentionally overbook but on arrival, after a very long day, I was told there had been a computer error and they had overbooked so I was being transferred to another hotel. Each person who arrived after me, while I waited 20 minutes for the taxi round to the other hotel, was told the same.
So if you're going during a busy period, I'd find another hotel otherwise you're location could be anywhere.

Its like sleeping on the Autobahn...

We had a one night stopover in Frankfurt at the Mercure City Center Hotel and besides the fact the the staff were not very helpful and didn't even have an ipod charger available for the rooms, our room on the 7th Floor was the noisiest room I've ever stayed in. I heard every car, overtime the tram stopped and started and every conversation of people passing by. The toilet paper was so thin i might aswell have just used my hand. The shower had pipes all exposed, no shower screen but a shower curtain which meant room was flooded and the water went from hot to cold frequently. It is a shame because we do like the Mercure Chain of Hotels but we will not be staying here again.

Great hotel at a great price...

Stayed for a single night and found the hotel to be a nice hotel with proximity to the central station, good hotel ambiance, nice service and clean and comfortable rooms. I had a room towards the street but i did not hear too much noise when i closed the windows. Did not have breakfast there so cannot really comment on that.
Would be happy to book this hotel again for my next trip!
