great ocean view with direct access to the mini beach. Quick walk to the larger beaches nearby. Nice ocean view breakfast (free breakfast included in all rooms) and I tried dinner at their restaurant and that was good too. Great service. Also tried the thai massage, which was affordable and good. Amazing ocean view from the room terrace as well. Very clean.

Great relaxing stay

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was great. Breakfast was wonderful, drinks at the pool were cheap and very good, and lunch/dinner was also quite good. The pool area is very clean and quiet with lots of chairs and I loved the easy access into the ocean. It takes a little while to get into the city center by bus, but the bus stop is very close and the busses are quite frequent. There are also a few restaurants and shops within walking distance if you would rather not venture far from the hotel. Overall, it's a very peaceful area.

Nice location, away from the noise and the crowd. The hotel is nice, however, the staff can improve their service by being more friendly and not acting like \"you are bothering them\" when you ask a question.

The cleaning staff left a lot to be desired. I purposely left the dirty glasses on teh table and they didn't replace them for 3 days. Upon arrival the toilet was filthy, and it was the first time in my 25 years of traveling, that I had to ask a cleaning crew to come to teh room to clean it.

For the amount of money they are charging, I expected better service/accommodations.

I rented a car when I got to the Island and I wasn't informed about the lack of parking near/for the hotel in particular. Free public parking was about 1/2 a mile down the steep hill then you have to walk back up so that was inconvenient. this was an important solo trip for me and I booked the hotel 4 months prior to my stay and communicated with a rep from the property that I would have spectacular ocean views and I ended up having peak-a-boo views off the side. I had requested to be further towards the front of the edge for more overall views and when I got to my room they were already fully booked so that was disappointing. overall the hotel was good just a little warm in the bedrooms during the summer bc A/C wasn't extremely efficient.

The hotel is conveniently located as Palma is reachable by bus and it's a short drive from the airport. It has a lovely pool and access to the sea so that you can choose what you prefer. Breakfast is amazing with all that you can imagine, they also serve food throughout the day at their bar by the pool. The rooms are of a good size, very clean, and mine had a lovely sea view, as I had requested. Staff are always available and very polite.

Spectacular view for our 10 year anniversary.

The building location was great, away from the hustle and bustle but we were still able to walk to a beach, diners and shops. We were able to catch the bus in either direction just a half block away from the hotel front door. 15-20 bus ride to Palma which was such a nice town. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The room was missing some standard hotel room items like a box of tissue, body wash cloth and iron for clothes.

Beautiful place by the water. Breakfast is top quality.

The pictures from room sea view was not the same as reality. I have asked for higher floor but put down by excuse that hotel is currently overbooked. Not recommend to pay extra for sea view.

Disappointing room experience

We had paid extra for a superior room with a sea view - this was not the case with room 607 which we were allocated. We upgraded to a junior suite for 4 days - extra cost 284 euros, and then had to transfer to another room 519, for our final night. This room was fine - why could we not have been allocated this room or similar for all five nights. This was very disappointing although the staff were helpful and tried to sort things out. It needs to be made much clearer about the type of room you will be allocated - some are definitely much better than others.

Toilets could do with a privacy screen

The hotel is nice, clean (apart from under the bed). The view from the room was amazing over looking the rocky beach cove.
The room did however have a bathroom with a glass screen. With no sound proofing! So not ideal if your not on your own.
One thing which was definitely annoying was the parking situation...
Although out of their control - i was unable to book the parking through the internet as it didnt take British cards?!?!
We ended up with a 40€ fine which you have to pay at a bank! Yes quite strange.
Apart from that a nice location, nice room, friendly staff.

The ocean is good for the soul!

Perfectly located only 10-15 mins drive away from Palma town, on the water (small beach to the side of the hotel) - really all you need. Staff were super friendly, was easy to get in and out and rooms were comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again!

People staying here are usually part of an arranged tour from Sweden, Germany, Holland,France. Big groups taking up a lot of space. All staff except recept man are friendly.

You can use ladders on the rocks to get in and out to swim in the sea in a private bay (shared with other hotels). When it's calm, there are lots of fish to see - worth taking a snorkel and mask.

Absolutely beautiful!

The property is beautiful with excellent pool area with small beach for swimming in the sea as well. A larger beach is within walking distance. The buffet breakfast was delicious, again with a beautiful view of the sea and pool area. The staff were very helpful and everything was just as we hoped it would be, if not more. The rooms were spacious with a beautiful balcony. Thanks for the great stay during part of our honeymoon!

Nice room eventually.

The first room I was given had dozens of ants crawling over the desk. Reception immediately moved me to another room and I had no further issues for the duration of the stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very nice. Good if you just want to relax and sunbathe or go paddle boarding etc, however there is little in the way of tourist attractions walkable, although you can get a bus to Palma very easily.

The staff was unaccommodating and borderline rude. Our room was tiny, poorly decorated, the air conditioning barely functioned and it did not have sufficient bathroom supplies such as washcloths and tissues. When I inquired about these things I was told we had booked a \"standard\" room through Expedia as opposed to a \"superior\" room. A 4 star hotel at $160 per night does not supply washcloths? I've had better accommodations at a Best western. I heard other guests complaining that doors did. It lock or that safes did not function. Also the only way to swim is to jump off a small cliff. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and facing the ocean, is the best view from any hotel I have ever seen. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Unfortunately, the food at the pool is overpriced and pretty terrible, and the staff at the pool are not very friendly or helpful. One issue with the room- the AC doesnt stay on throughout the night. We spoke to the front desk about this and they said it is on all day and will blow air at night but the central air needs a break at night so it is not kept on...this made for some very uncomfortable nights of sleep when it is hot summer!

My stay at hotel playa marina was wonderful. The hotel has sun lounges wrapping around onto the ocean. Breakfast was wonderful (with a gorgeous view), with a vast variety of options... Coffee could've been better but hey. The room and all the hotel was pristinely clean and the maids cleaned it each day. The hotel restaurant was really average/a little overpriced I wouldn't bother except for breakfast.

Very clean well kept hotel fair few Germans stay here who demand a good standard.
Breakfasts plentiful great setting on balcony over the pool if you get there early. Evening meal taken in bar as hotel nearly empty for end of season was generous and well cooked reasonably good value as well for the area.
Rooms are fairly small but adequate and well equipped and presented, upgraded room has glass wall to bathroom which can present an odd view to anyone in the room foyer.
Small balcony with table and two chairs with great views from most rooms of the sea, higher rooms the better views I would think.

Misleading Hotel info

The pictures shown of the rooms are not what we got.

We called the front desk because we were having trouble finding the hotel. When we finally got there the front desk guy was rude. He said \"How could you miss it the sign is right there!\" And proceeded to laugh at us.

There was no shower curtain for the shower so water went everywhere in the bathroom.

The sheets were stained.

The balcony door lock did not work nor did the safe in the room. We had to waste our time on vacation to wait for someone to come up to the room to fix it. Would not stay here again and would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Our experience of the staff with the exception of the chamber maids was disappointing. The manager was aloof and unfriendly unwilling to discuss problems with the visitors and the rest of the staff seemed to follow his example. The house keeping staff were excellent.
The room was excellent along with the breakfasts, we were booked bed and breakfast only.

Nice Resort On the Ocean!

All went well, as we stayed two nights absorbing the sun and the sea. Check in was easy and staff were very pleasant. It was annoying to have to pay for internet, an amenity every other place we stayed in Europe included for free. The drink prices poolside were very fair, service a little slow due to high season and not enough staff. Breakfast was excellent. The pool was very clean and the swimming off the rocks was amazing. The only drawback was a bespectacled male clerk that worked the evening shift, who for some reason treated everyone that dared to approach the desk as a personal affront. A total jerk in my honest opinion and he should not be working in the hospitality business.

Although in a built up area, this is a good hotel for a quiet holiday for couples. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Circular outdoor pool. Tricky access to sea via ladder. Best sea views from rooms furthest away from the lifts on the East (Palma) side of the hotel. Frequent bus service to Palma. A few good restaurants and a small beach within a 15 minute walk. Sloping site - road gives access to Reception at level 5 of 6 floors.

Stayed here as a budget option in Illetas. Everything was decent standard. Would say good value, especially considering prices in Illetas in general. Pool area and sea access very good. Very close to two lovely sand beaches and Palma. Enough good restaurants nearby if not going half board. A nice quite stay. No free wi-fi in rooms seems a little silly these days. 1hr free in bar area.

We have just spent a week in the Europe Playa Marina... On arriving the worst problem was the parking, I hate to think what it would be like in July/August.. The entrance and reception were lovely very modern and we thought what a lovely hotel. But on inspection of the rooms, well they were a bit tired... we asked or rooms together and they were off the main floor down a small corridor, opp the rooms was a serving door that the cleaners used it wasnt even painted and the overall appearence of the corridor was scruffy... The room was very clean and the bathroom was modern but the painting in the room needed updating.
Outside the area down to the sea was beautiful.. with large platforms giving privicy at various levels down the rockface. the view was spectacular from the dining room, the bar and the rooms and couldnt be faulted. The food at breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to keep gong back for more. The Gym was basic but ok. overall the hotel was a good experience....

Position of the hotel is excellent

Very nice hotel, lovely swimming pool with a wonderful view of the sea. However, the reception staff border on being unfriendly, particularly the older man. Beds very comfortable, only spoilt by the atrosiouly awful pillows. Also there is very little to do in Illetas in the evenings and the hotel should accommodate this by offering some entertainment. Didn't like the fact that we had to have win evening drink outside the front of the hotel as the pool bar closes very early.

Over promise Under deliver - misleading

My low review score is mainly because of Expedia, so please take that into account.

I was led to believe (and the info is in my emails from Expedia as proof) that wifi was to be included - as we are not in 2005 any more - but it isn't.
I have the details that the wifi was to be in the room at €0.00 COST.

I was led to believe I would get a king sized bed with a bay view in a non smoking room as I paid them EXTRA for this - they couldn't do all three.
It was just a sliver of sea view plus view of next door hotel and a large flat roof a few meters below - we changed rooms for a bigger sliver of sea view but with twin beds and ashtrays.
You really need to be on either the top couple of floors or maybe a higher floor on the odd room side of the hotel.

I was led to believe there was a gym - nobody I spoke to there knew of one!!
There was certainly pictures of a gym when I booked.

There are supposed to be facilities nearby, windsurfing was one of many they stated.
There is very little in the area as it is quite residential.
I was told that windsurfing was on the OTHER side of the island !!!
You need a car, bus or taxi to get anywhere. Portal Nous for restaurants and bars, Palma too.

I checked all these points after I returned home - and verified I was misled on what I bought.

I complained to Expedia straight away - they are not interested !! I have since googles Expedia as it was our first time with them - Google for yourself about Expedia complaints. Say no more.

Long weekend break on the island. Hotel is functionally fine. Breakfast is varied, plentiful and good. The rooms comfortable. The hotel was busy and so no opportunity for much human contact with staff. The gym has 4 pieces of equipment and the pool is very small. My wife wanted a treatment on Sunday afternoon, which was not available despite the literature.

Amazing location for a great stay in Mallorca!

This hotel had the most amazing location right on the ocean with great swimming spots and crystal clear water. There was almost no need to use the pool because the ocean was right there! Got some great pics! The hotel interiors were a little tired and out of date however it was clean and comfortable and a more affordable option compared to the other resorts near by. Bus stop was a few meters away and took us straight to the beautiful Cala Major beach and in to Palma city very easily and cheaply! Breakfast was also good with a range of options.

This area is really nice away from the large crowds of tourists - relaxing, nice little restaurants - but a little more expensive and less shops than Palma area. Good for relaxing. Liked the hotel with balcony view of water, small beach nearby was nice as well. The internet wifi doesn't work in rooms only in the downstairs bar area which was annoying. Otherwise nice little area off the beaten path.

Great views over Palma Bay but not much else

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and I was not impressed with it.
There are far better 4 star hotels in Illetas.
Met with unwelcoming reception staff. You pay extra for use of wifi, use of safe in room, use of beach towel including deposit. I had a late flight home and when I asked if there was a room I could use to shower in I was told merely NO use the pool.
The pool was tiny with sun beds crammed around it like sardines in a tin, I went to the beach instead.
The breakfast is average, my room was average, everything about it was average.

Nice Hotel great for swimming in sea

Booked a triple room, arrived late at night to be told i had a twin room, after a lot of discussion was told to go to room, if bedding not there for third bed go back to reception for bedding, had to go back and was handed sheets to make bed myself from sofa bed. Facilities were good but staff were very abrupt bordering on rude. Not the way i would expect to be treated by ANY star hotel!! Would only tell people to go back for facilities, staff need course in PR!!

Quiet location between the pine trees & the Med

Great location with direct beach access, although you have to get up pretty early (before 8AM) to find a vacant chair.
Really good value for money overall, but don't expect much in terms of cleanliness. I stayed there twice for over a week and my bed sheets were never changed, nor was the carpet vacuumed.

Hotel Europa Playa Marina, Illetes

We have been going to this hotel for four years now and always have an enjoyable and relaxing time there. The staff are very considerate and helpful. The pool is big enough for the size of the hotel and the poolside terrace is awesome with the pool area getting full sun all day long until the sun goes down (8.30pm in June) unlike the hotels on the other side of the bay where they lose the sun around 4pm. The Europa Playa Marina also has terraces just above the sea down some steps from the pool area where there are more loungers to sunbathe on right in front of the sea. The breakfast is improved this year with more choice and better quality food and coffee. There is an outside terrace where you can have breakfast whilst enjoying the morning sun on the med. Wonderful. Would definitely recommend if you don't mind small rooms and dark corridors leading to them which is small price to pay for the south facing aspect and the pool area.

This does not deserve a four star ranking. Four star hotels do not limit wifi to their bar area; even then, the wifi was suspect in the bar area. Four star hotels do not charge you for pool towels either; I believe it was a 2.50 euro charge. The bed had some type of plastic lining over the mattress that made a lot of noise and the sheets were not high quality. The staff was very friendly, however, and the location was beautiful.

Beautiful location!

Bed was horribly uncomfortable (2 twins pushed together, both hard as rocks with pillows of similar size and comfort) and ac was inconsistent - didn't cool enough at night which increased the discomfort. On the plus-side, we had a room on the fourth floor with beautiful views overlooking a small beach. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, with ample storage for clothing, luggage, etc. staff was very helpful and friendly with few exceptions. Breakfast was included and provided tons of choices. Taxi stand, shops, and cafés/ restaurants within short walking distance. Overall was very happy with the stay/location.

Great hotel in lovely location.

We stayed here for 4 nights and particularly enjoyed the location on the hotel right on the sea with a lovely area for enjoying the sunshine and swimming. We didn't want to be in a 'clubbing' area so it was ideal as it was close to Palma and very easy to get the bus into town but also had some nice restaurants within walking distance.

Nice hotel with great views of the bay

This Is a clean and good 3 star hotel, for the price excellent, breakfast is very good, lots to choose from and plates cleaned away quickly and efficiently. Only problem we encountered was when checking out, the receptionist tried to charge for laundering our beach towels, when we explained that we hadn't been advised of this cost he waived it. Great hotel for a short stay or a week

Great Hotel

Our room was cleaned everyday and was a decent size. Nice balcony with a beautiful view. The poolside bar/rest was convenient. The pool was large but didn't go in. The sea area was better on the adjacent hotel's beach front, less algae so less slippery. The free breakfast buffet had most everything. Were always able to find lounge chairs and umbrellas without having to be up too early. The staff were a little cold at first but warmed up as the week went on and helped us check-in and out quickly. Taxis to and from hotel were very reasonable. Bus was at the door, but didn't try this. For the money, not sure how anyone can complain about this hotel.

Quiet hotel overlooking a beautiful cove

Hotel well situated in a quiet area of ILetas with a love cove below
Staff were efficient but totally unapproachable .
There was no atmosphere in the place
Could I say a big thanks to the cleaning staff who always said hello to u and did a grt job
Only allowed 1hour free wifi per day !!!

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Nice hotel with friendly staff. A quiet location about 40 minute walk from Puerto Portals and 30-40 minute bus ride (No 3) to Palma centre. Can also use same bus to Bellver castle + 10 minute walk. There are some small restaurants up and down the road but best choices are a bus/taxi ride away. It has a small pool but also has very easy access to sea and a small beach (watch out for the rare but occasional jellyfish). Breakfast buffet very reasonable offering a good selection for most. In-room safe, requires small refundable deposit plus small daily charge (this is less than quoted here on this website - best call the hotel and check these). WiFi in main lounge for 1h per device per day. In-room wifi has additional cost. Might be wise to bring your own shower gel. Witnessed some issues at reception desk with visitors having costs assigned to their rooms by other people so maybe wise to not charge stuff to room and pay for any additional items upfront with cash/card. Would definitely consider staying again although would be nicer if WiFi and in-room safe were included in room fee.

It is ok nothing special

The hotel itself was nice and clean the staff were freindly. The room was ok the bed really hard and the pillows where really flat I like big pillows went downstairs at rec they did bring extra pillows still did not help as I woke up with a bad neck. The breakfast nothing special every time I went it was not a lot of food and you did not have a lot of option to choose from the coffe they bring was cold not hot or warm cold. The area was really really quite nothing to do around unless you like to stay at the pool just a few resturant to chose from as we were on bed and breakfast overall it was a nice relaxing break with the few changes the hotel would be lovely would I go back again I would but not for a long holiday just for a weekend

Very nice place, quite and well situated. Lovely views.
Very good breakfast selection and service. Wi fi in rooms nonexistant.
Bus service to and from Palma right in front and long service.
Worth staying. Won't go with little ones, not much to do for children.

Good location...

Hotel is in a good area of the island and Illetas has some good restaurants and a small beach within a short walking distance of the hotel. The city centre is about a 30 min bus ride away (bus stop outside, costs 1.5 euros) or a 15 euro taxi ride away. The hotel itself was nice and clean and we liked the room which had a balcony with a sea view. The only downside was the breakfast which was adequete, there was a lot of choice to find something you would like but it wasn't amazing. I would stay at this hotel again, as it was a good base for going to the beach and getting to Palma.

A quiet hotel good for relaxing with a good book.

This hotel is more suited to adults than children because access to the tiny beach is by steps. For a beach holiday you would have to travel each day.
There is a bus stop and taxi rank very close.
If you have a car, parking is scarce so I paid for the secure private carpark approxiamately 100 metres away.You use a remote control for access.
Meals are buffet style,lots of choice and good quality.
The tv had one English speaking channel-Russia Today. Mostly Spanish and German.
The staff are very helpful and friendly.
