The place is/was dirty and I mean filthy. It smelled like marijuana. Too much money for the conditions. Handrails weren't attached to the wall securely. They take a photocopy of your credit/debit card. I left right after check in (after getting the photocopy back) & of course without a refund. I checked in at the Holiday Inn down the street. So much cleaner & well worth the extra money.

We found bed bugs in our room at the Ramada by Wyndham Cleveland Independence. We immediately notified the hotel staff and provided evidence. The hotel did not offer an adequate solution, and due to health and safety concerns we had to leave the property in the middle of the night and book another hotel.

The hotel was not very clean. The staff was very rude especially the pool attendant. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and very stale. The parking lot was littered with trash and the trash cans were overflowing. The elevator broke down twice and there was only one working elevator. The pool was filled with trash including hair and bobby pins. The back door was left open instead of using a keycard to gain entry making it very unsafe.

Check in was only available exactly at 4:00 pm, not a minute before so a few guests also waited for the time.
Bedroom was okay, although mattresses were old and sinking in the middle. Bath tub was not super clean.
Coffee is super simple which is fine but had to call the staff for restocking.

I am absolutely apalled at the service, the staff, and the sheer vibe i got from this place. I tried to get a room and they gave me the wrong card due to forgetting to change it so me and my family had to look around to see which room worked for the card and then we waited for a good couple minutes for the staff to come help. Then, there were no towels or toiletries placed in the room other than shampoo, conditioner, and one single soap bar. The staff were mostly rude and dismissive to my worries. The whole time i was trying to check into my room the staff were distracted, then the next person in line got a room extremely fast without any interurptions. Overall my stay was not organized well and was inconsiderate. I do not recommend this place.

The list of broken items, sticky floors, peeling wall paper, half broken drapes; the list goes on and on. For $116 a night you would expect a biiit more. The front desk staff was incredibly kind though!

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. We checked in a little after check in time and the staff were so friendly and suggested many restaurants nearby for a quick bite but we chose the onsite restaurant and it was perfect. Great location, minutes to Downtown Cleveland. Free breakfast, free WIFI, free parking, nice pool and a restaurant on site. We were pleasantly surprised with this property and I highly recommend! Will stay here anytime I need to be in this area!

My stay was great! I was in town for an event in Downtown Cleveland at the Huntington Field and I chose this property based on the location, which was a short drive to the event. The property was clean and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. They offer a free breakfast and there is a restaurant on site that was delicious and reasonably priced. They even have a HUGE indoor pool with a really creative structure consisting of glass all the way around. You felt you were outdoors which was cool. Everything was clean and I would definitely recommend this hotel for any one that needs to be in the downtown Cleveland area.

First room infested with ants and no toiletries. 2nd room dirty food on floor and toilet would not stop running. Supposed to be fixed when I got back, wasn’t. Third room dirty and tv remote didn’t work. Gym had floor boards coming up. Key never worked. Manager would not speak to me face to face had to email. Would not give me a rebate or even discount, when I asked for one he stopped communicating. One of my worst hotel stays in life. I will never go back or recommend. I will tel everyone how terrible this hotel is every chance I get.

Very unhappy. Property was in very bad shape. Curtains were broken and uncloseable. Wallpaper was ripped off the walls. Bathroom smelled, had black mold on the vent. The toilet paper holder was just barely attached and just hanging there. This place was ridiculous! Pool was locked. When we asked tonl use, we were told it closed at 7. The hottest was broken and unuseable.

I) I did not bring slippers with me, the room was not carpeted so I put on my socks which happened to be white, walking around the room for a few moments my socks were dirty 🤔. In the corners there was debri. A lamp was broken and did not work. 2) I was told that the jacuzzi was not working and the fitness room was unavailable. On my 2nd day I decided to go swimming and there was a big sign stating pool closed. Busted furniture in the lobby , spackled unpainted walls, by the elevator on lobby floor very dark, dirty patios , the benches outside the front lobby was broken I amost fell on the ground. My room was next to an outside door where people were smoking cigarettes and weed and of course I could smell that.The breakfast was not breakfast at all in my opinion. to sum it up they need to close this location down and do a grand renovation ,Its definitely worth saving.

Very disappointing for a Wyndham property. The place had a very pungent odor of cleaning solvent which was irritating to respiratory system. Front desk staff were pleasant. Rooms were not furnished with basic supplies ie; soap, shampoo, tissue, toilet paper. Ants in room. Coffee maker but no cups or coffee pods.
Worse part was the pool was only open until 8pm and an EXTREMELY rude man guarding the door (and sleeping in his chair). No towels in the pool area.
No ice makers in the building. Breakfast area filthy and a joke. Coffee was terrible.
We trusted the Wyndham name for this stay and have lost all faith in this chain.

Our rooms were not clean actually a health violation in the bathroom. Told a lady in the hall and she said she didnt clean that room like that should end it... We had something left on the sheets big stain and couldn't get a new set ton hange ourselves. Honestly I hope we don't get bedbegs.. I didn't see any but it was not a good experience. Run! Don't walk from this place! I cannot express it enough, to any of you considering staying at this dump! We checked in and out within 1 hour of being at this disgusting, rundown space for lack of what i really want to call this place. There was nothing good to say about our “10 minute stay”. Checked in, turned around and checked right back out. Property was dirty, lights were not functional and even after our initial realization of the twilight zone that we were in, we still proceeded to check out the room. Big mistake - dirty, stains on box spring, comforter, light bulbs weren’t in lamps, floor was sticky, and no comment on the bathroom. Do better, your staff isn’t even set up for success. The kicker is the paper that they have you sign, essentially holding you hostage if booked via a 3rd party - If there is an attempt to shove that down my throat, I’ll see you in court😊

First the room has bathroom not clean & toilet not working. Smell from the room. We request to change the room. They said coffee in room compliments. When I reach the room there was no water or coffee cups. I ask the front desk and person said I am not a coffee lover. If you want water you can buy from front desk $2 per bottle and also cup $2. I said coffee is cheaper than $4 outside. Overall not good experience.
Even breakfast you can have only few things. Not a good breakfast eathier.

Is was filthy both rooms offered was dirty. They had clogged sinks/toilets. Black mold in the bathroom. Stains on covers and towels and lamp shades. Things looked like they haven’t been properly cleaned after each guest. When I went to ask for clean towels I was told there were no clean laundry on the property, was offered a dirty pool towel in replacement. I took pictures of everything. But every staff member I encountered was very kind that’s the only positive.

We had to park kind of far from our room. It was pricey for one night and the hotel wasn't very nice. It had holes in the walls and the grass was super high. The entire first floor smellled like marijuana when we were leaving. The shower was kind of moldy and it kept holding water in it and not draining. The one good thing i could say was the staff were super nice.

The bathroom floor looked like it was leaking and it was dirty. In the shower the water was filling the tub like it was set on bath instead of shower. The bed had stains on it and the sheets also had stains. The smell in the hall was not good at all. This was a terrible place to be so I left within an hour an a half. I am not sure if I will get my money back but I had to leave and go to another hotel. They need to shut this place down and remodel Remodel REMODEL!!! This place was shameful. Next time I know cheater is NOT BETTER!!

Nastiest Hotel I have ever stayed at.
Came in to checked in then went to an event. Came back later around midnight to realize that I had a single bed vs double I booked. There was no towel at all like nothing. Bed stains on the sheets… I asked for another room and they said they didn’t have anything else. I asked for towels they said they did not do their laundry so I would have to wait in the morning. In the morning there was still no towels or anyone in the hallway to provide towels. Went to the Desk at 10 AM, keep in mind check out is at 11. Still no towel or anyone cleaning rooms. Found dogs poop in the hallways… I would not recommend anyone ever going there. Refund… let’s just say I was stuck there late not able to find a different hotel and they never helped

First room they sent us to the bed wasn’t made. Second room it turned out the toilet was plugged and there was poop on the lid. Going from the registration desk to the elevator was weird. There were no lights turned on. The card readers to get in exterior doors didn’t work. The grass was knee high. You could tell it had been nice place once upon a time. Those days are gone and the place needs some TLC.

I paid almost 400 dollars for a one night stay!! That was the first problem..but needed room. The fridge in the room had mold inside it, we had aTV but no remote. There was coffee supplies no coffee maker. The sheets were dirty apon arrival with make up stains,boot prints and when it was brought to staffs attention only thing that was done was I was given new sheets to change myself! The ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water from room above. There was silly string hanging from our ceiling, only one of the 2 lamps worked and only 2 outlets n the whole room worked! This is the worst hotel ever! Staff was rude when I asked to be compensated for it! They had no vending machine for water or snacks and wanted to charge you 3 bucks for a warm bottle of water and you could only pay cash! I was charged 30 dollars cash fee for 30 mins early check in! Plus 45 dollars to my card I have yet to figure out what is for. Place needs shut down!!

This hotel is a great place to stay if going to a game downtown. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to the outrageous prices of the hotels next to the stadiums. It was a short drive (like 10 minutes) and the hotel was better than expected. They have a wonderful restaurant inside and even offer complimentary breakfast which was delicious. Everything was clean and comfy and my kids were even able to swim as they have a huge indoor swimming pool. My kids had a blast. The front desk and housekeepers were extremely helpful and friendly and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. 10 out of 10! I highly recommend!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I was in town for an event in Downtown Cleveland and decided to stay here as it was only a short drive to the event. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were just wonderful. The pool is HUGE and heated. There is even an exceptional Mexican Restaurant and bar inside the hotel that was beautiful and delicious, so you don't even have to leave the property to get dinner or drinks. Breakfast was a nice touch and the muffins and coffee are extremely fresh. Also liked that they offered a variety of fresh fruit and juices. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept like a baby. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to be in the Downtown Cleveland area. It really is a great place with great people and great food!

I have never given a poor rating to a property before. I just don’t want you to make the same mistake as me. This place is a serious victim of neglect. Nothing really works right or it is rigged to just get by. The place is so run down. They need to start reinvesting in this property, Soon. This hotel is horrible. Peeling wall paper, dirty floors with broken drywall on them. Our room had used soap and soap dish, no towels, a stain on the bedsheet and trash on the floor. I told the girl at the front desk and asked for the manager, she said they weren’t there. So I get their email and ask if they can do a refund because the room and hotel were filthy. Front desk says yes. We got another hotel for the night and I sent one email and left three messages at the front desk. Then when telling Orbitz, they couldn’t offer a refund because they said the front desk said I never mentioned anything. Never using Orbitz OR Ramada again. Ew.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was dirty, had pee on the toilet, a KFC cup, and old tips in the room when we checked in. The staff took on average 20-25 minutes to come to the desk when I needed help, the breakfast was stale bagels, and old cereal with no milk. The staff was zero help. I tried to leave early but they refused to refund. Absolutely disgusting, STAY AWAY!

Nothing worked. Key didn’t work had to go back down from the 3rd floor to get new keys made. They charge $25 a wrist band to go into the pool room EVEN IF YOUR NOT SWIMMING. Jacuzzi was broken. Refrigerator had mold in it. I was a lucky one my room was available but I watched many people come back and have to switch rooms because things were broken, uncleaned, and not working. Check-in is 4pm, pool closes at 8 so you got 4 hrs to get to your room settle in and run to the pool and swim before it closes for $25 A PERSON. Make sure you put all ppl coming on the reservation to get your bands free. Restaurant charged me for plastic utensils. One elevator worked. I could keep going but second worse experience I’ve had at a hotel. NOT coming back. Male staff member was simply delightful everybody else behind that counter were not as professional as he was.

I am embarrassed for the leadership of this Ramada hotel in Cleveland, Ohio

From check in to exiting the facility was bad! The boss lady at check in was yelling at two young employees!

At approx 3am loud music playing in cars.

After a very long check in period we finally got to our room, dirty and unkept! No towels, no toilet paper, we had to call to get it delivered.

Reminents of previous occupants! Let just leave it at that.

Half the lights inside the hotel were off or not working.

This room was the worst room that I’ve ever stayed in. It was dirty, it had poop on the bathroom wall, the shower curtain had black mold all over the shower curtain, stains on the sheets, the room stunk, and the bed was broken. There was no light in the elevator hallway, the elevator sounded like it was on its last leg, stains all over the carpet, and the wash clothes were stained up. It was completely disgusting and I will NEVER stay there again.

Thought we were in a ghost town. Lights in the Galway next to the elevator out, all card key locks on the building out of service, only saw 1 person working in the building, grounds around building full of branches and leaves from last fall, breakfast area not maintained with minimal food to include very green bananas. Toilet plunger in bathroom with only 1 towel set for 2 guests. Will not be staying at Ramada again after this experience not to mention the pot smell in the hallway.

This hotel really needs some help. The company who owns it either needs to sell it, or figure out how to fund the repairs. It’s a mess, and can barely be called a hotel. Nothing works, and everything is broken. The pool was out of order, the elevator was out of order, and the lights around the building did not work (felt unsafe). The front desk has a bunch of unprofessional signs hanging around about all the things guests should not do at the hotel. I had to walk up three flights of stairs to get to my room since the elevator was out of order. The stairwells look like they have not been cleaned in years. The toilet would not flush. There was a plastic bag over the smoke alarm (I can’t believe the housekeeper didn’t catch that). The alarm clock had missing pieces, and the lamp fell over with just a touch. The walls are so thin that there was a family either next to me or above me, and I could hear their kids all night as if they were in the hallways running up and down. The kids kept falling, crying, and the dad was constantly yelling at them that he was going to beat them. I was fearful that somebody was just going to come in my room all night because the hotel just didn’t seem like a very safe place to be. It was a nightmare experience.

Our room had no towels of any kind and when we asked for some they couldn't be provided. The whole hotel smelled very unpleasant pt and their breakfast (which you needed a wristband for) was grab n go. Definitely wont return.

Room was dirty. The refrigerator did not work and was moldy. There were left clothes and trash behind the refrigerator. Hotels indoor pool was extremely cold and the hot tub was out of order. The breakfast was just toast and ceral. The hallways had a terrible odor throughout the hotel

I want a refund left because was stuck in parking lot had to pay for a tow truck to get my car out of the parking lot and no heat at all in the common area and no towels or Toilet paper in the room and when I asked I was given a hand towel and one roll of toilet paper. Called Ramada in Corp complained asked to be refunded and they stated had to contact you the 3rd party. The tow alone was 100.00 can provide pictures if needed.

The room was just okay. Not exactly as clean as id like but not bad. We arrived late at night due to a flight delay and once we checked in we were directed to the elevators to get to our floor. We were warned that there were no lights on down the hallway because the manager wanted them turned off at night, it was quite dark and didn't feel very safe travelling alone with my daughter. And we were also warned about terrible sound the elevator made but only on the 5th floor. My daughter was so scared by it we had to take the stairs the rest of the trip. Also the breakfast was terrible. Not much to offer, everything looked old and stale, and even the coffee didn't offer anything but sugar, equal and powdered creamer. I mean at least provide some half and half or something? Needless to say we went out for breakfast instead. Money I didn't plan on spending. Hotel was very old and in rough shape overall. Also when I booked I didn't intend on bringing my 12 year old daughter but at the last minute decided to do so. Because she wasn't on my original reservation they wanted me to pay an additional $25 cash only (seems shady) to get her a wristband to be able to have breakfast and to use the pool. We didn't even try to use the pool so I can't speak for what that would have been like. Wasn't going to pay additional money for that when I can only imagine it was like the rest of the hotel.

In no particular order: no soap, TV remote did not work, remote missing cover, building and room freezing cold, was advised by staff to wear a coat to breakfast area since it was \"freezing,\" elevator issues (call button did not illuminate to indicate it is working, very loud non-confidence inspiring squealing noise as elevator moved), parking lot not plowed adequately and icy, no tissues, partial roll of TP (not enough), no staff to find or deliver soap/TP, had to go and retrieve missing items myself (multiple trips), no TV directory, lamp missing bulb, fitness area closed (for a while - despite my asking before arrival about it), shower curtain smelled awful, room very dry, wall thermostat did not work, wake-up call did not arrive, sink backed-up, illumination by sink inadequate, room AC/heater very loud (sleep prevention device), no maintenance person available to unclog sink

Little was done to clean any areas of snow. Vanity lights are positively dim. Amenities were not properly stocked. Public areas were dirty. Only one elevator working, and sounds as if it's going to die reaching 5th floor. No lighting on lobby level elevator lobby.

Ramada – A Disappointing Stay
I recently stayed at the Ramada in Cleveland and, unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the hotel is in need of significant updates and more attentive management.
Temperature & Comfort
Despite freezing outdoor temperatures of around 20°F, the hotel had turned off the heating entirely in an effort to save costs. As a result, the entire building—from hallways to common areas—was uncomfortably cold. My room was no exception: I walked into a freezing space where the heating unit wasn’t even plugged in. It took time to figure out how to get the system running, and even then, the warmth took a long time to build up.
Condition of the Hotel
The property overall feels aged and poorly maintained. Surfaces, furnishings, and general infrastructure show visible signs of wear, giving the hotel an outdated and neglected impression. The pool area, which is usually a highlight in a hotel, felt more like the Arctic—far too cold to be usable or enjoyable.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast, even for a simple “grab‑and‑go” style offering, was extremely disappointing. The selection, quality, and presentation were all below what one would expect from a brand like Ramada.
Value for Money
What makes the situation even more frustrating is the price point. Budget chains such as Motel 6, Super 8, or Red Roof Inn consistently provide better comfort, warmth, and overall value at a lower cost. For

Indoor pool water is not heated well; water is very cold. Fitness center was closed (out of operation; repairs needed). Hotel room and hallway is not cleaned well. Hallway and stairs has a strong weed smell.

It’s funny that a non smoker has to sign a form. Yet I barely walk into the hotel and it reeks of pot. I guess it’s ok to light up as many joints you can while you are here. The whole parking lot is barely shoveled or salted. I guess it doesn’t matter if someone falls, no one will be there to help out. But the room is actually nice. The room looks clean and doesn’t smell like pot. Please try to raise the bar of people’s expectation a tad higher, overall?

Parking was ok but not very close. In the winter there should be some sort of rugs/carpeting with the floors being wet, it was slippery and dangerous. Rooms are way outdated. There was a hole in the wall that was just patched, not painted. Very disappointed with the front desk staff with the exception of maintenance he was above and beyond. We ended up canceling the second night because of all these issues. We weren't the only ones canceling their additional nights.
