We stayed at the Hôtel Château de l'Ile for 2 nights and it exceeded our expectations. Our room was on the first floor, facing the river, and was very quiet and calm. The hotel staff were responsive and helpful. We found our room to be spacious and comfortable and while the decor is a bit dated, we think it adds to the chateau's charm. The Tesla Destination Charger was also a big plus. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We came to stay for 4 nights/no breakfast over christmas with our 5 and 14 year old kids to escape the usual Uk xmas.
We decided to have christmas eve dinner with them for €340 including drinks.
None of us ate much from the 3.5 course meal, as most of it was not only bland but a lot of it actually unpleasant in taste!
Ive never before experience a meal, where i didn’t like anything. But we had similar experiences with the food in other areas of Strasbourg and Colmar. So it wasnt just the hotel’s restaurant food.
The first day we got up early to use the gym - to find out there was none. Better check the facilities properly next time..
The pool and sauna however were excellent. Lucky from the second day onwards the jacuzzi’s heater worked and we could enjoy that too.
The beds very massive and comfy.
Strasbourg is about 20mins by car. Watch out for speed restrictions in km, as a speeding ticket was send to us in the UK afterwards.
Overall I doubt we’ll be visiting Alsace again in a hurry.

Best Place I've Stayed with Family
This was the best place I've stayed in all of Europe. They were so extremely accommodating of our baby. They even provided some snacks for him and a stuffed animal. Their dining is very good, and they have high chairs. It is a beautiful property and the room is very spacious. I could not recommend a place more! We were so happy with our stay.

Booked due to the pool and the location. We were very pleased with everything. The pool was small but the kids approved, so all was well. The building was breathtaking, my wife actually booked the hotel and I was taken aback when we pulled into the parking area...it is gorgeous. The staff made me feel like visiting royalty. The room was clean. I would call this hotel an \"experience\" more than I would call it a hotel. It was one of the best surprises in our 8 day trip to the area. I can not say enough good things about it.

Very romantic style hotel and excellent indoor pool facility boasting also a generously sized bar and lots of cultural ambiance. However, the overall picture was clouded by slow service (or even ignorance to answer telephone calls), often slow working restaurant service staff and inferior quality of food items, especially room service breakfast. Management went into defense mode when we complained about high room temperature (it turns out the AC was centrally switched off...).

Quiet classic serenity amidst a larger city setting. If you want to escape downtown Strasbourg and feel luxurious relaxation, this is your spot! Indoor pool, sauna, hot tub - and massage/spa if you like. The bar offered top-notch specialty drinks at a bucolic setting - you’ll feel like you stepped into a different era.

This is a beautiful hotel near Strasberg. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff is great. It is difficult to find if you don't have a GPS. The food is very good but rich. We ate at the chateau twice and at a small nearby restaurant once. My wife enjoyed the spa.

Our family of four stayed in one room with a fold-out bed and a rollaway. They both squeaked unfortunately. The room was clean, the bathroom was lovely, the grounds were fantastic though. The pool was calming which is great for a spa but less useful when you have two active children who want to play. Outside the hotel had a badminton court, bikes to rent and a forest to explore. They also had an obstacle course next-door. That was fun for the kids. It was easy to catch the tram into town as well. It's about a 10 minute walk. The meals were good too. Nice choice!

I felt like a zoo animal at one point we were the only people in the hotel. The place was staffed by primarily young adults who were just starting. I give them a A for effort. They appeared to understand English but in the end they clearly didn't. After the first nights confusion over what was included in half pension drinks I told the front desk to cancel and we would order wine. I didn't realize until we had checked out that I continued to pay for half pension drinks plus the wine I ordered. I was overcharged 38€ per day for three days. We checked out a day early and I became terribly sick upon arrival at our next destination. Could have been anything but you get my meaning.

We stayed for 10days The hotel was only 20 minutes from Stasbourg in a quiet town . The grounds were lovely with lawn games set up . All the amenities were perfect. The pool, though not outdoors, was next to a outside terrace . The staff couldnt have been nicer or more helpful and by the end of our visit we felt like family. We highly recommend this hotel

What a romantic getaway!
Decided to try this for Valentines Day and it was sublime! Great welcome and service. Very clean and stylish room. Loved the restaurant. Wish we had more chances to take advantage of the pool.

Welcoming stop over on the way to Austria
We stayed here for one night on the way to skiing in Austria, so we had spent the whole day driving when we arrived. Our stay in this hotel was just what we needed to relax and recharge for another day of driving the next day. The staff were very welcoming and the room was both comfortable and full of character. We had a nice swim in the pool before eating dinner. There is a gourmet restaurant with tasting menu, but we went for the more basic brasserie type restaurant as we had the kids with us. The food was good and we enjoyed a very nice bottle of Alsace Pinot Noir. The next morning we had a walk in the lovely grounds before hitting the road again.

It was a lovely, if not quirky, old chateau. The spa was very basic. Unfortunately, the steam room was not very steamy or hot, and had mood lighting that changed color, so not very relaxing. The sauna was too hot to sit it, and the jacuzzi wasn't very hot at all. We had a lovely meal at the hotel. Overall, I think it was a 3-4 star hotel with 5 star prices. Just a nice, easy overnight getaway, but for 175€ a night, and no breakfast included, we would have to give it a pass next time.

Stayed one night at the Chateau de I'lle. From description and photos online, thought it would be a much more luxurious stay than it was. Room clean, but very dated. Bedding horrible, with bedspread a disgrace (visible stains). I was a bit surprised how poor the condition was. The food was good (room service and breakfast) and the pool was nice, however, I wouldn't consider this a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It was an acceptable hotel, that hasn't been updated for many decades. Staff were very kind, but for the price I would hope for a bit more style.

A beautiful relaxing hotel that feels like it is in the middle of nowhere but is actually only a short drive from Strasbourg. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and my children were greeted with a small toy and a bag of sweets which they thought were fantastic. The restaurant had nice food but was massively over priced. We travel regularly to this standard of hotel and the restaurant was so over priced compared to similar hotels that I felt a little ripped off Breakfast was 24 euros and very average and a glass of juice was 4.50 euros when a whole bottle of the same male was 1.90 in the supermarket around the corner. There is a little salon de tee a couple of minutes walk away and we went there for breakfast after the first morning.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting
We wanted to go to Strasbourg for the Christmas markets, but by then time I looked into booking, I could not find accommodation for our family of four in Strasbourg. We ended up at the Chateau de l'Ille and Spa in neighboring Ostwald, and it worked out well for us. To get into Strasbourg, it was an easy 10 minute walk to the tram and then the tram took us directly into the town, so we didn't have to deal with parking or traffic. It cost approx. 10 euros for round trip tickets for the four of us. The hotel itself was very nice. It's nestled into a wooded setting complete with a creek running through the property. We had one room for the four of us, which included a king size bed, a sofa bed and an extra cot, and it did not feel cramped. The hotel has an indoor, heated pool (and fortunately a vending machine for swimwear because I did not anticipate this!). The buffet breakfast was very nice, as was the one dinner we ate at the hotel. Beautiful from the outside. Inside, it was clean and roomy. But the room furnishings were seriously lacking and not up the expected standard. The bed was adequate, but not particularly comfortable. The bathroom was quite nice. Breakfast was very good, but very expensive. Overall, it was a nice hotel but seriously overpriced for what we got.

Very pretty Chateau but the rooms are nothing special beyond wallpaper. The wallpaper in our room (a premium room) was peeling and the tub literally took an hour to fill up. The staff were polite but not what is expected of such a high rated hotel. The grounds and exterior were gorgeous, but for the price the room definitely left us wanting more, the bed was very hard- plus the description read balcony and there was no balcony. Nice place though.

The chateau and grounds are wonderful - an elegant and peaceful oasis within 10 minutes of Strasbourg's centre ville. The staff were professional, friendly and very helpful, particularly Mylene, who spoke perfect English and provided us with valuable information on the Strasbourg area. Fint hotel, men den manglende nedkøling på værelset var ikke forventeog og der var meget meget varmt. En vifte i loftet burde som minimum være til stede. Smukt hotel, smukke omgivelser men mange myg nede ved floden. Havde håbet på at finde lidt aftensmad i byen, men alt var lukket, da vi var der. Et fint ophold men også lidt oroblematisk.
